  • jQuery.load doesn't execute javascript with document.write

    I am trying to use jQuery.Load to load an ad call that has a document.write, and for some reason its not able to, or in firefox atleast, reloads the page with the entire ad. Here is the simplified version of the code.     How do I get a JLabel displaying a HTML string to appear greyed out (which is the behaviour of JLabels that don't display HTML text)? Is there another way than actually changing the colour myself by modifying the foreground property? JLabel label1 = new JLabel("Normal text"); JLabel label2 = new JLabel("<html>HTML <b>text</b>"); // Both labels are now black in colour label1.setEnabled(false); label2.setEnabled(false); // label1 is greyed out, label2 is still black in colour Thank you very much for all of your responses. From what I gather, it seems that Java doesn't support automatic greying out of JLabels when they use HTML text. Suraj's solution has come closest to the fix considering the limitations. I have however, tried a different out-of-the box approach, where I have put the HTML text JLabels inside of an inner JPanel and did this: mInnerPanel.setEnabled(shouldShow); //shouldShow is a boolean value Which hasn't worked. Any suggestions for this way? EDIT: Added implemented solution.

Users (and developers before users) can reasonably test the view by simply looking at the pixels on the screen. Anything else beyond pure graphical rendering should ideally be taken out of the view and placed in the controller and model.   • How can Request Validation be disabled for HttpHandlers?

    Is it possible to disable request validation for HttpHandlers? A bit of background - I've got an ASP.NET web application using an HttpHandler to receive the payment response from WorldPay. The IIS logs show that the handler is being called correctly from WorldPay, but the code inside the handler is never called. If I create a physical ASPX page and set ValidateRequest=false in the header, and put the same code in the Page_Load method, the code is called without any problems. This solves the problem, though I'd prefer to stick with using an HttpHandler for this as it's better suited for this type of functionality, rather than having an empty ASPX page, though this is dependent on being able to disable request validation. The web application is using ASP.NET 2.0 and the server is IIS6.

  • Tablet interface for the physically disabled?

    My sister has Cerebral Palsy, which in her case means she has only gross motor control and her speech is slurred. Implications should be obvious: traditional computer/phone/tablet interfaces won't work for her and she can't speak clearly enough for speech recognition software to help her at all. She enjoys reading but has difficulty holding the book and/or turning a page. There are a few options for helping her use a computer, but nothing for tablets or eReaders. That's where you come in. I would like to make (or buy, if such a thing exists) a better interface to an Android tablet that would work for someone with little to no physical dexterity or speech ability. I'd also be interested in work on the Kindle or iPad, but I'm most familiar with Android so I'm starting there. I know Android has Bluetooth capability. Is it possible to interface a joystick to control the Android device? By "control", I mean the entire operating system - selecting an app, launching it, controlling the menus, etc. I want to give her control over the whole thing, not just a specific app. On a PC this can be accomplished by creating a generic USB HID interface and an arcade joystick to move the mouse over the screen and click on thigns. Is it possible to do something like that in Android? Any help you can offer would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

  • JButtons re-enable themselves after being disabled

    I have an array of JButtons which form a keypad interface. After six numbers are entered I want to disable the keypad so that no further numbers can be entered by the user. I have written the code and the buttons do disable until the mouse hovers above any of them, then the buttons seem to re-enable themselves and run actionEvents added to them. The full code is available here. Possible things that I think are wrong. There is some sort of MouseListener which is ignoring when I set button.setEnabled(false); I haven't separated attributes from the buildGUI(); correctly, I only did this anyway so that the inner class could access them. Possibly something to do with the gridLayout as disabling the buttons seems to work for my services JPanel buttons.

My problem is that I cannot copy and paste from one property entry to another, and I cannot type in the fields manually as well.   • Textbox is disabled after adding text dynamically in codebehind

    Can't quite work out what is happening but The background is that I am dynamically adding table rows in a web page and some of the cells hold controls such as dropdowns etc. One of the columns pulls a size into it. However the column I am having issues with is the next column which takes the text from teh previous dropdown and shows the appropriate price. On doing htis however the textbox which is being created appears to turn into a label as I cannot select or adjust the text that has been put in there. var gotPrice =(from a in getPrice.Sizes where a.Size1 == Size.SelectedValue select a).First(); TextBox Price = new TextBox(); Price.Width = 100; PriceField.Controls.Add(Price); PriceField.Text = gotPrice.RackRate.ToString(); I have tried then calling .Enabled but still the text box is not editable. any help appreciated.

  • [WordPress 3.1.3] Sreen option is disabled when a plugin is activated

    I'm pretty new to wordpress. I was assigned to create a custom plugin for one of our projects here. The plugin worked as expected and there is no problem activating/deactivating it. When I was exploring the admin panel I noticed that the screen option is off. I read from a blog somewhere that deactivating the plugin one by one to check which plugin has caused this. I did just this and found out that the custom plugin I created was the cause. My question is, is there way to check what have caused this? Some log file I can look into? There is no error message or warning when I activated the plugin and it is giving the output required. This is my first plugin, any advice will be helpful. Btw, this plugin will display a comment (most recent will be shown first) in a widget and there is prev/next navigation to go through the rest of the comments. Thanks, RNorbe

  • Javascript regex returning true.. then false.. then true.. etc

    I have a strange problem with the validation I am writing on a form. It is a 'Check Username' button next to an input. The input default value is the username for example 'betamax'. When I press 'Check Username' it passes the regex and sends the username to the server. The server behaves as expected and returns '2' to tell the javascript that they are submitting their own username. Then, when I click the button again, the regex fails. Nothing is sent to the server obviously because the regex has failed. If I press the button again, the regex passes and then the username is sent to the server. I literally cannot figure out what would be making it do this! It makes no sense to me!     I am writing this program to take a root music note and populate tables with various scales from that root note. So, many of the tables cells will have the exact same value in them. I realize I can call my "useScale" function for every single that I need to write text to but since there will be repeats, it seemed like there should be a way to run my function once and apply the results to multiple but it did not work to use the document.getElementsByClassName("").innerHTML, I had been using "ById" which worked fine but each ID must be unique so, I can't write to multiple elements. The RememberMe control in the login form, for example, really doesn’t need validation, so I forget to include the Html.ValidationMessageFor helper line for that control in particular. As a result, when I’m debugging using IE, I get a silly JSON parsing exception when changing focus from one field to another. The exception doesn’t hurt anything, as far as I know, but it’s just plain annoying. If you’re getting this error, and you don’t want validation messages showing up for controls on a form, you can put them in div tags and set the display style on the divs to none. When I have a handful of controls that I don’t want the validation messages for, I just throw them all in the same div and hide it.

  • Finding an alert in the middle of your javascript

    I was debugging a script injection issue the other day using some sample code with an alert in it. The alert was popping out meaning the code got executed leaving open the possibility for a hacker to put there some nasty malicious code. I knew my alert was being executed but didn’t know how. So I tried something that worked perfectly for this problem, replaced the native alert function with my own one. All I had to do in Chrome was open the javascript console and type: alert = function(msg){ console.log(msg); console.trace(); }; The next time the malicious code was executed, instead of the regular alert I got something similar to this:   alert("testing") testing console.trace() alert:2 (anonymous function):2 InjectedScript._evaluateOn:312 InjectedScript._evaluateAndWrap:294 InjectedScript.evaluate:288 undefined In my case I was able to see what was going on and find the offending function. This was tested on Firebug in Firefox and it works as.
