• Detect if a table contains a column in Android/sqlite

  So I have an app on the market, and with an update I want to add some columns to the database. No problems so far. But I want to detect if the database in use is missing these columns, and add them if this is the case. I need this to be done dynamically and not just after the update to the new version, because the application is supposed to still be able to import older databases. Normally I would be able to use the PRAGMA query, but Im not sure how to do this with Android. I cant use execSQL since it is a query, and I cant figure out how to use PRAGMA with the query()-function. Ofcourse I could just catch exceptions and then add the column, or always add the columns to each table before I start to work with it, but that is not a neat solution. Cheers,

  I am working on a module that allows users to post comments on a blog published on Wordpress. I looked at the HTML source for Post-Comment-Form displayed at the bottom of a blog entry (Leave a Reply section). But when I try this on the actual blog, I get HTTP 302 Found (Redirect to temporary location) exceptions in the logs. The comments never make it to the blog page. Usually, when you post a comment(on the web page) you are taken back to the blog page that enlists all the comments. The URL I am getting in the redirects is the same. Questions: 1. Could this be a post-a-comment settings problem(perhaps something the original blog owner might have set)? 2. How should my HTTPClient handle 302 status code? Eventually, I just have to notify the user of success and failure and not actually take him to the comments page.

• Unselect Databound Combobox Winforms .NET

  The problem: combobox is databound to a DataView, first item in the dataview is DataRowView whose fields are DBNull.Value; Combo DropdownStyle = ComboBoxStyle.DropDownList Loads fine, displays fine, selects fine, problem is to Unselect via code. Setting the SelectedIndex to 0 throws an exception. (Setting to -1 is a no-no as per msdn doco that says dont set SelectedIndex=-1 if databound) So how to unselect without throwing an exception ? For now i wrapped it into a try/catch to just ignore the error! EDIT: As asked by Hubeza, i worked on sample code to post. Did a stripped down version of the original code in C# (original is in VB.NET) and could NOT reproduce it either. Converted to VB.NET and could NOT reproduce it either ! In other words, SelectedIndex = 0 does work in the stripped down version! Currently further investigating what else could be wrong with the original code. EDIT2: Case Closed. Call me a stupid fool if you like, and apologies for wasting anyone's time - The error was originating from MyComboBox_SelectedIndexChanged event, which i neglected to check ! • C# - How to override GetHashCode with Lists in object

  Hi, I am trying to create a "KeySet" to modify UIElement behaviour. The idea is to create a special function if, eg. the user clicks on an element while holding a. Or ctrl+a. My approach so far, first lets create a container for all possible modifiers. If I would simply allow a single key, it would be no problem. I could use a simple Dictionary, with Dictionary<Keys, Action> _specialActionList If the dictionary is empty, use the default action. If there are entries, check what action to use depending on current pressed keys And if I wasn't greedy, that would be it... Now of course, I want more. I want to allow multiple keys or modifiers. So I created a wrapper class, wich can be used as Key to my dictionary. There is an obvious problem when using a more complex class. Currently two different instances would create two different key, and thereby he would never find my function (see code to understand, really obvious) Now I checked this post: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/638761/c-gethashcode-override-of-object-containing-generic-array which helped a little. But my question is, is my basic design for the class ok. Should I use a hashset to store the modifier and normal keyboardkeys (instead of Lists). And If so, how would the GetHashCode function look like? I know, its a lot of code to write (boring hash functions), some tips would be sufficient to get me started. Will post tryouts here... • Checkbox has the wrong values

  I have a page with several checkboxes on it, along with a dropdownlist of users. The checkboxes correlate to the user's permissions so each user is different. When a different user is chosen, the check boxes should change to match that user's permissions. The codebehind is correct, I stepped through it and the checkbox.checked value is being assigned to the box with the correct value to match the user. chk.Checked = viewable; No matter what I assign to the checked property the value stays the same as the very first submittal. I tried chk.EnableViewState = false; but that did not help. I am sure it is dot net trying to be helpful (grrr). Thank you for your help. There is no databinding per se. I will be saving the values from the textboxes via xmlhttp when the user clicks on them. I never want the check boxes to fill with values other than what I give them.   I know how to add a DebuggerStepThroughAttribute to a method or a constructor, usually you add it to the CustomAttributes collection of a code member. But I don't see a way to do this for the setter and getter of a C# property, because neither of them provides this collection where you add the attributes. Does anyone have a clue?

• How to deal with multiple sub-type of one super-type in Django admin

  What would be the best solution for adding/editing multiple sub-types. E.g a super-type class Contact with sub-type class Client and sub-type class Supplier. The way shown here works, but when you edit a Contact you get both inlines i.e. sub-type Client AND sub-type Supplier. So even if you only want to add a Client you also get the fields for Supplier of vice versa. If you add a third sub-type , you get three sub-type field groups, while you actually only want one sub-type group, in the mentioned example: Client. E.g.: class Contact(models.Model): contact_name = models.CharField(max_length=128) class Client(models.Model): contact = models.OneToOneField(Contact, primary_key=True) user_name = models.CharField(max_length=128) class Supplier(models.Model): contact.OneToOneField(Contact, primary_key=True) company_name = models.CharField(max_length=128) and in admin.py class ClientInline(admin.StackedInline): model = Client class SupplierInline(admin.StackedInline): model = Supplier class ContactAdmin(admin.ModelAdmin): inlines = (ClientInline, SupplierInline,) class ClientAdmin(admin.ModelAdmin): ... class SupplierAdmin(admin.ModelAdmin): ... Now when I want to add a Client, i.e. only a Client I edit Contact and I get the inlines for both Client and Supplier. And of course the same for Supplier. Is there a way to avoid this? When I want to add/edit a Client that I only see the Inline for Client and when I want to add/edit a Supplier that I only see the Inline for Supplier, when adding/editing a Contact? Or perhaps there is a different approach. Any help or suggestion will be greatly appreciated.
