  I'm trying to create an XML Schema and I'm stuck. It seems I can't define an element with string content. What am I doing wrong? • How do I POST/GET from rails to API with Nestful?

  Hi, this is a pretty basic question but I'm not entirely clear how to do this. I am trying to use a third-party service that has web-based service. The service is called Postful. But I'm not clear what exactly to do? I've looked at ActiveResource (http://api.rubyonrails.org/classes/ActiveResource/Base.html) and rest-client, but I'm still not clear exactly what steps, code, and files to create.   I have a DownloadManager class that manages multiple DownloadItem objects. Each DownloadItem has events like ProgressChanged and DownloadCompleted. Usually you want to use the same event handler for all download items, so it's a bit annoying to have to set the event handlers over and over again for each DownloadItem. • Most efficient way to store list structure in XML

  Starting a new project and was planning on storing all of my web content in XML. I do not have access to a database so this seemed like the next best thing. One thing I'm struggling with is how to structure the XML for links (which will later be transformed using XSLT). It needs to be fairly flexible as well. • Unhandled exception when DataTemplate created dynamically using Silverlight 3.0

  Requirement is to create a reusable multi-select combobox custom control. To accomplish this, I am creating the DataTemplate dynamically through code and set the combobox ItemTemplate. I am able to load the datatemplate dynamically and set the ItemTemplate, but getting unhandled exception (code: 7054) when we select the combobox. • How do I use Perl's WWW::Facebook::API to publish to a user's newsfeed?

  We use Facebook Connect on our site in conjunction with the WWW::Facebook::API CPAN module to publish to our users newsfeed when requested by the user. So far we've been able to successfully update the user's status using the following code: use WWW::Facebook::API; my $facebook = WWW::Facebook::API->new( desktop => 0, api_key => $fb_api_key, secret => $fb_secret, session_key => $query->cookie($fb_api_key.'_session_key'), session_expires => $query->cookie($fb_api_key.'_expires'), session_uid => $query->cookie($fb_api_key.'_user') ); my $response = $facebook->stream->publish( message => qq|Test status message|, ); However, when we try to update the code above so we can publish newsfeed stories that include attachments and action links as specified in the Facebook API documentation for Stream.Publish, we have tried about 100 different ways without any success.   I am trying to create JSF 2 pages. When I create pages using facelets template I get message on top that "The project is not configured for Facelets yet. You need to add a Facelets runtime to the project's classpath".   I have a status which is stored as a string of a set length, either in a file or a database. I'm looking to enumerate the possible status' I have the following type to define the possible status' Type TStatus = (fsNormal = Ord('N'),fsEditedOnScreen = Ord('O'), fsMissing = Ord('M'),fsEstimated = Ord('E'),fsSuspect = Ord('s'), fsSuspectFromOnScreen = Ord('o'),fsSuspectMissing = Ord('m'), fsSuspectEstimated = Ord('e')); Firstly is this really a good idea? or should I have a seperate const array storing the char conversions? That would mean more than one place to update. Now convert a string to a status array I have the following, but how can I check if a char is valid without looping through the enumeration?   Hello, I am developing an web application that is authenticated using CAS (A single-sign-on solution: http://www.ja-sig.org/wiki/display/CAS/Home). For security reasons, I need two things to work: The communication between CAS and my application needs to be secure My application needs to accept the certification coming with CAS, so that I can guarantee that the CAS responding is the real CAS Server. This is what I got so far: uri = URI.parse("https://www.google.com/accounts") https = Net::HTTP.new(uri.host, uri.port) https.use_ssl = (uri.scheme == 'https') https.verify_mode = (OpenSSL::SSL::VERIFY_PEER) raw_res = https.start do |conn| conn.get("#{uri.path}?#{uri.query}") end This works just great in my Mac OSX. When I try to reach an insecure uri, it raises an exception, and when I try to reach a secure uri, it allow me normally, just like expected. The problem starts when I deploy my application on my Linux server. I tried in both Ubuntu and Red Hat. Independing of what uri I try to reach, it always raises me this exception: OpenSSL::SSL::SSLError: SSL_connect returned=1 errno=0 state=SSLv3 read server certificate B: certificate verify failed from /usr/local/lib/ruby/1.8/net/http.rb:586:in `connect' from /usr/local/lib/ruby/1.8/net/http.rb:586:in `connect' from /usr/local/lib/ruby/1.8/net/http.rb:553:in `do_start' from /usr/local/lib/ruby/1.8/net/http.rb:542:in `start' from (irb):7 I think this have something to do with my installed OpenSSL package, but I can't be sure. This are my installed OpenSSL packages: openssl.x86_64 0.9.8e-12.el5 installed openssl-devel.x86_64 0.9.8e-12.el5 installed I tried using HTTParty as well, but it just ignores the SSL certificated. I hope someone can help me, either by telling me a gem that works the way I need. Thanks.

List<Map<String, CustomerField>> customerRecords = new Reader(file).readData(listener); // ** long running method over. listener.event("Status: Loaded all customers, count:" + listOfCustomerRecords.size()); return listOfCustomerRecords; } Now while the last method is in its long running call, I would expect to see my statusText updated to have 'Status: Starting read', but its doesn't. Its only when the read() method returns that the text is updated. If its was 'straight' java I would presume that the long running job is hogging the CPU, or the statusText needed to have repaint() called on it. Can anyone give me any ideas? Thanks Jeff Porter

• Calling ASP.NET Web API using JQuery ajax - cross site scripting issue

  I have a Web API which I am calling using the JQuery ajax function. When I test the service directly (using the Chrome RESTEasy extension) it works fine, however when I call it using the JQuery ajax function I get an error. I'm calling it on port 81: $.ajax({ url: "http://127.0.0.1:81/api/people", data: JSON.stringify(personToCreate), type: "POST", contentType: "application/json;charset=utf-8", statusCode: { 201: function (newPerson) { callback(newPerson); } }, success: function (newPerson) { alert("New person created with an Id of " + newPerson.Id); }, error: function (jqXHR, textStatus, errorThrown) { alert('Error. '+textStatus+'. '+errorThrown); } }); ...but when I trace it using FireBug Lite the response comes from port 82: {"Message":"No HTTP resource was found that matches the request URI 'http://127.0.0.1:82/api/people'.","MessageDetail":"No action was found on the controller 'People' that matches the request."} I think the error is, effectively, due to cross-site scripting being blocked, but I'm not actually cross-site scripting, if you see what I mean. Has anyone else come across this and been able to fix it? Edit: Routing config (global.asax.vb) is: RouteTable.Routes.MapHttpRoute(name:="DefaultApi", routeTemplate:="api/{controller}/{id}", defaults:=New With {Key .id = System.Web.Http.RouteParameter.Optional}) Controller: Public Function PostValue(ByVal departmentid As Integer, ByVal emailaddress As String, ByVal firstname As String, ByVal lastname As String) As Guid Dim context As New WSMModelDataContext Dim bllPeople As New PeopleBLL(context) Return bllPeople.Create(firstname, lastname, emailaddress, departmentid) End Function When I debug it, it doesn't get as far as running the controller, although when calling it through RESTEasy it routes correctly and the controller executes successfully. The only difference seemes to be that wen called through RESTEasy it is (correctly) using http://127.0.0.1:81 but for some reason when called via JQuery/ajax it seems to be using http://127.0.0.1:82.

The problem was with the entity resolver, which points to the w3c.org web site. The access to the reference DTDs on this site has been restricted for application use. The solution was to implement my own entity resolver.   Hello, I am developing a web application that is authenticated using CAS (A single-sign-on solution: http://www.ja-sig.org/wiki/display/CAS/Home). For security reasons, I need two things to work: The communication between CAS and my application needs to be secure My application needs to accept the certification coming from CAS, so that I can guarantee that the CAS responding is the real CAS server This is what I got so far: uri = URI.parse("https://www.google.com/accounts") https = Net::HTTP.new(uri.host, uri.port) https.use_ssl = (uri.scheme == 'https') https.verify_mode = (OpenSSL::SSL::VERIFY_PEER) raw_res = https.start do |conn| conn.get("#{uri.path}?#{uri.query}") end This works just great in Mac OS X. When I try to reach an insecure URI, it raises an exception, and when I try to reach a secure URI, it allows me normally, just like expected. The problem starts when I deploy my application on my Linux server. I tried in both Ubuntu and Red Hat. Independent of what URI I try to reach, it always raises this exception: OpenSSL::SSL::SSLError: SSL_connect returned=1 errno=0 state=SSLv3 read server certificate B: certificate verify failed from /usr/local/lib/ruby/1.8/net/http.rb:586:in `connect' from /usr/local/lib/ruby/1.8/net/http.rb:586:in `connect' from /usr/local/lib/ruby/1.8/net/http.rb:553:in `do_start' from /usr/local/lib/ruby/1.8/net/http.rb:542:in `start' from (irb):7 I think this have something to do with my installed OpenSSL package, but I can't be sure. This are my installed OpenSSL packages: openssl.x86_64 0.9.8e-12.el5 installed openssl-devel.x86_64 0.9.8e-12.el5 installed I tried using HTTParty as well, but it just ignores the SSL certificate. I hope someone can help me, or tell me about a gem that works the way I need. Thanks.

Also if you filter your home feed to just Spotify stories (http://graph.facebook.com/me/home?filter=app_174829003346), you'll get a bunch of useless stories without attachments (assuming your friends shared music recently) Anyone have any ideas how to access the playlist details, or is it unavailable to third party developers (if so, this is a very a bad user experience, because the story makes no sense without the attachment). I am able to fetch scrobbles without any trouble using the user_actions.listens. Also, if there is a recent activity story, e.g. "Peter listened to The Shins", I am able to get information about the band. The problem only happens on attachments.

Problem: To retrieve the number of orders and the customer id from a table based on a set of parameters. I want to write a query to figure out the number of orders under each customer (Column: Customerid) along with the CustomerID where the number of orders should be greater or equal to 10 and the status of the order should be Active. Moreover, I also want to know the first transaction date of an order belonging to each customerid. Table Description: product_orders Orderid CustomerId Transaction_date Status ------- ---------- ---------------- ------- 1 23 2-2-10 Active 2 22 2-3-10 Active 3 23 2-3-10 Deleted 4 23 2-3-10 Active Query that I have written: select count(*), customerid from product_orders where status = 'Active' GROUP BY customerid ORDER BY customerid; The above statement gives me the sum of all order under a customer id but does not fulfil the condition of atleast 10 orders. I donot know how to display the first transaction date along with the order under a customerid (status: could be active or delelted doesn't matter) Ideal solutions should look like: Total Orders CustomerID Transaction Date (the first transaction date) ------------ ---------- ---------------- 11 23 1-2-10 Thanks in advance.   I'm trying to parse an HTTP GET request to determine if the url contains any of a number of file types. If it does, I want to capture the entire request. There is something I don't understand about ORing. The following regular expression only captures part of it, and only if .flv is the first int the list of ORd values. (I've obscured the urls with spaces because Stackoverflow limits hyperlinks) regex: GET.?(.flv)|(.mp4)|(.avi).? test text: GET http: // foo.server.com/download/0/37/3000016511/.flv?mt=video/xy match output: GET http: // foo.server.com/download/0/37/3000016511/.flv I don't understand why the .*? at the end of the regex isnt callowing it to capture the entire text. If I get rid of the ORing of file types, then it works. • eclipse django using wrong settings.py in pythonpath

  I have pydev/django installed in eclipse, and it runs fine. However, after adding a second django project to eclipse and running the server ('http://127.0.0.1:8000') the pythonpath seems to be stuck on project2 even when I run project1. As a summary, I have two django projects: project1, project2. When I run the django server for project1 I get: Validating models... 0 errors found Django version 1.5, using settings 'project1.settings' Development server is running at 'http://127.0.0.1:8000/' Quit the server with CTRL-BREAK. The above seems to suggest that django is using the correct settings file; however, when I go to 'http://127.0.0.1:8000/' it displays the urls from project2. Also, if I go to 'http://127.0.0.1:8000/admin' the models are getting pulled from the sqlite.db file in project2 as well. I've even tried removing project2 from eclipse entirely and now at 'http://127.0.0.1:8000/admin' I get this error: Python Path: ['C:\Users\Brad\workspaces\In Progress\project2', 'C:\Users\Brad\workspaces\In Progress\project2', 'C:\Python27\DLLs', 'C:\Python27\lib', 'C:\Python27\lib\plat-win', 'C:\Python27\lib\lib-tk', 'C:\Python27', 'C:\Python27\lib\site-packages', 'C:\Windows\system32\python27.zip'] If I run the server on a different port with project1 the path seems to be fine: runserver 7000 --noreload Then 'http://127.0.0.1:7000/' uses project1's paths, but it doesn't seem like I should have to do this. Note: I have setup the run configurations as correctly as I know how. In the main tab, the project and main module both point to the correct project (project1), and the "PYTHONPATH that will be used in the run:" includes project1. Also, I have cleared my browser history, cookies, and everything that chrome would let me delete.
