  • How do I make Pseudo classes work with Internet Explorer 7/8?

    I've written the following code to create a three-column layout where the first and last columns have no left and right margins respectively: #content { background-color:#edeff4; margin:0 auto 30px auto; padding:0 30px 30px 30px; width:900px; } .column { float:left; margin:0 20px; } #content .column:nth-child(1) { margin-left:0; } #content .column:nth-child(3) { margin-right:0; } The problem is that this code does not work in Internet Explorer 7 and 8? The only pseudo class I can use with IE (in this case) would be "first-child," but this does not eliminate the right margin on the third and last column. Does anyone know of a way I can make this code work on IE 7/8?

    Do, custom fonts work in UITextView ? I loaded UITextView *textView in cocos2d layer. And I trying to set the font of the text as Copperplate Gothic Bold. I downloaded the font file Coprgtb.TTF. But, the text is not adjusting to this font. The system fonts are working, but the custom fonts are not working ? I added the font file in resources folder. what can I do to make them work ?     I have a component in AIR like so: <mx:HTML id="html" width="100%" height="100%" location="https://example.com" locationChange="dispatchLocationChange(event)" /> The page it loads contains this: <a onclick="alert('onclick')">Alert</a> <a href="javascript:alert('js')">Alert</a> <a onclick="window.open('http://www.google.com','_blank')">new window</a> The 2 alerts both work. however nothing happens when you click the new window link. all 3 links works when in a real browser so I know its ok. Is there just no support for window.open in the AIR HTML component? or is this a bug? Is there a work around?

    I have an application which contains the line below to assign a parsed XML value to a variant array. V(2) = latNode.Text * 1 This works fine on my system (Windows 7, Excel 2010) but doesn't work on some other system or systems - and I've not been able to get a response from the user who reported the problem. I've switched out the offending line for: V(2) = CDbl(latNode.Text) This still works on my system, but then I had no problem in the first place. The question is on what systems does the first approach fail and why, and will the second method always work? I'm sure I've used the "Stying * 1" trick elsewhere before and would like to know how concerned I should be about tracking down other occurrences. Thanks.

  • How do you get the File:// protocol to work in IE8?

    I am running a website on my local machine ("http://localhost/asdf") and trying to get some file:// protocol links to work. In reality I'm trying to open a folder, not a specific file, but I can't get either to work. I've put localhost in my "trusted zone", I've tried every combo of "file" ,":", some number of "/" and then a whole bunch of different paths, but encoded and not encoded. Nothing I do causes anything to open when I click on the link. If I copy the link destination, and paste that in the browser address window, then it works as expected. Anyone know the secret?

  • How do I make a TCP server work behind a router (NAT) without any redirection configuration needed.

I have two machines A and B: A: Client (behind NAT) B: Server (behind NAT) I want B to be able to listen on any given port, so that A can send packets to B through that specific TCP port and receive any response. If both machines are not behind a NAT it is pretty straight foward process. However how do I make it work so that it works even when B is behind a router, without him having to go change the router configuration enable some port forwarding etc... For example, how do p2p program like torrent clients work without the user having anything to configure? Thanks and I hope my question is clear enough.

  • Click once Deployment suddenly does not work. Displays windows login?

    Hello All, I am facing a peculiar issue. We use click once deployment for our windows application. It was working fine till last week. I made some changes to the application (just code nothing changed in properties) and suddenly I cannot publish anymore. When we give publish now it displays windows authentication dialog and when we provide the credentials nothing happens. It tries to connect to remote server (local LAN) and shows the dialog again. Any idea why this happens? Thanks for your help.

    I'm fairly well read in the benefits and processes of Scrum. I get the ideas on the backlog, burndown charts, iterations, using user stories, and other various concepts of the Scrum "framework". With that said... I work for a web development firm that manages multiple projects at one time, with six team members that make up the "production team". How does Scrum work with having multiple projects? Do you still just schedule an iteration for a single project in a certain amount of time and the entire team works on it, and then you move on to the next project with a new iteration when that iteration is completed? Or is there an "agile" way in managing multiple projects with their own iterations with only one team at the same time?

  • Why doesn't Google OpenID provider work with PHP-OpenId on my server?

    Hey, I'm using PHP-OpenId 2.1.3 which I've unzipped on my server here (this is the consumer example that comes with PHP-OpenId). When I enter the Google OpenId url (https://www.google.com/accounts/o8/id) and submit I get a blank screen. When I try the exact same example code on the PHP-OpenId website here with the same URL it works fine. I don't understand what I'm doing wrong. The only thing I can think of is that somehow Google does not want to work with my server. Any ideas how to make this work? Thanks

  • Has anyone ever had OpenCV to work with Python on MacOS?

    I've been trying on and off for the past 6 months to get OpenCV to work with Python on MacOS. Every time there's a new release, I try again and fail. I've tried both 64-bit and 32-bit, and both the xcode gcc and gcc installed via macports. I just spend the past two days on it, hopeful that the latest OpenCV release, that appears to include Python support directly would work. It doesn't. I've also tried and failed to use this: http://code.google.com/p/pyopencv/ I've been using OpenCV with C++ or Microsoft C++/CLI for the past few years, but I'd love to use it with Python on a Mac because that is my primary development environment. I'd love to hear from anyone who's actually done this.

  • Does the '#' modifier for cropping images in Paperclip work only for square images?

    It is very well documented that you can create square thumbnails with center cropping with Paperclip (4) and Rails (4). I would like to have an image of very specific dimensions (e.g. 200x100) and if input an image of let's say 800x200 it is first resized to 400x100 and then the width (400) is cropped down to 200 pixel from the center (i.e. 100px cut from the right and 100 px cut from the left). I tried with 200x100# and it does not appear to work (i.e. the '#' has no effect). I have found that I could adapt other solutions such as this, but I was wondering if '#' is supposed to work only for cropping to square images, or is a Paperclip bug or I am doing something wrong...

    OK. I have an old G5 running Leopard and a Dell running Ubuntu 10.04 at home and a MacPro also running Leopard at work. I use Terminal.app/bash a lot. On my home G5 it exhibits a nice feature: using ? to navigate history I get the last command starting with the few letters that I've typed. This is what I mean (| represents the caret): $ ssh user@server $ vim /some/file/just/to/populate/history $ ss| So, I've typed the two first letters of "ssh", hitting ? results in this: $ ssh user@server instead of this, which is the behaviour I get everywhere else : $ vim /some/file/just/to/populate/history If I keep on hitting ? or ?, I can navigate through the history of ssh like this: $ ssh otheruser@otherserver $ ssh user@server $ ssh yetanotheruser@yetanotherserver It works the same for any command like cat, vim or whatever. That's really cool. Except that I have no idea how to mimic this behaviour on my other machines.   • Does ModSecurity 2.7.1 work with ASP.NET MVC 3?

    I'm trying to get ModSecurity 2.7.1 to work with an ASP.NET MVC 3 website. The installation ran without errors and looking at the event log, ModSecurity is starting up successfully. I am using the modsecurity.conf-recommended file to set the basic rules. The problem I'm having is that whenever I am POSTing some form data, it doesn't get through to the controller action (or model binder). I have SecRuleEngine set to DetectionOnly. I have SecRequestBodyAccess set to On. With these settings, the body of the POST never reaches the controller action. If I set SecRequestBodyAccess to Off it works, so it's definitely something to do with how ModSecurity forwards the body data.   • Network Authentication when running exe from WMI

    Hi, I have a C# exe that needs to be run using WMI and access a network share. However, when I access the share I get an UnauthorizedAccessException. If I run the exe directly the share is accessible. I am using the same user account in both cases. There are two parts to my application, a GUI client that runs on a local PC and a backend process that runs on a remote PC. When the client needs to connect to the backend it first launches the remote process using WMI (code reproduced below). The remote process does a number of things including accessing a network share using Directory.GetDirectories() and reports back to the client. When the remote process is launched automatically by the client using WMI, it cannot access the network share. However, if I connect to the remote machine using Remote Desktop and manually launch the backend process, access to the network share succeeds. The user specifed in the WMI call and the user logged in for the Remote Desktop session are the same, so the permissions should be the same, shouldn't they? I see in the MSDN entry for Directory.Exists() it states "The Exists method does not perform network authentication. If you query an existing network share without being pre-authenticated, the Exists method will return false." I assume this is related? How can I ensure the user is authenticated correctly in a WMI session?     I'm trying to use the FolderBrowserDialog from my WPF application - nothing fancy. I don't much care that it has the Windows Forms look to it. I found a question with a suitable answer (How to use a FolderBrowserDialog from a WPF application), except I'm using MVVM. This was the answer I "implemented", except I can't get the window object and I'm just calling ShowDialog() without any parameters. The problem is this: var dlg = new FolderBrowserDialog(); System.Windows.Forms.DialogResult result = dlg.ShowDialog(this.GetIWin32Window()); In my ViewModel there the this has no GetIWin32Window() method for me to get the Window context. Any ideas on how to make this work?

  • Is JQuery UI meant to work only with Google Chrome??? (How about IE and Firefox??!)

    Hello, I'm using "Jquery UI 1./Dan Wellman/Packt Publishing" to learn JQuery UI. I'm working on the 'Dialog widget' chapiter. After I've completed a series of exercises in order to build a Dialog widget (using Google Chrome), I then tried my work with Internet Explorer and Firefox. The result has been disappointing. Chrome was perfet With Internet Explorer, (1) the title of the Dialog widget did not appear, (2) The location of the dialog widget was not correct (given the position: ["center", "center"]). It was rather offset toward left. With Firefox, the location was respected. However, only the outer container was visible. the content was missing, just a blank container. Also using Option Show:true and Hide:true did only work with Chrome. I wonder now if JQuery UI was meant to be used only with Google Chrome. I just think that I might be missing some directives to make it work with major browsers (as the author claimed in his book). Here's the code. Since, I'm using ASP.NET MVC, certain codes, such as the element to the css, do not appear.     Hi friends, ok, I'm back. I totally simplified my problem to just three simple fields and I'm still stuck on the same line using the addJSONData method. I've been stuck on this for days and no matter how I rework the ajax call, the json string, blah blah blah...I can NOT get this to work! I can't even get it to work as a function when adding one row of data manually. Can anyone PLEASE post a working sample of jqGrid that works with ASP.NET and JSON? Would you please include 2-3 fields (string, integer and date preferably?) I would be happy to see a working sample of jqGrid and just the manual addition of a JSON object using the addJSONData method. Thanks SO MUCH!!   • WMI permissions: Select CommandLine, ProcessId FROM Win32_Process returns no data for CommandLine

    Hi all, I am gathering performance data via WMI and would like to avoid having to use an account in the Administrators group for this purpose. The target machine is running Windows Server 2003 with the latest SP/updates. I've done what I believe to be the appropriate configuration to allow our user access to WMI (similar to what is described here: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa393266.aspx). Here are the specific steps that were followed: Open Administrative Tools - Computer Management: Under Computer Management (Local) Expand Services and Applications, right click WMI Control and select properties. In the Security tab, expand Root, highlight CIMV2, click Security (near bottom of window); add Performance Monitor Users and enable the options : Enable Account and Remote Enable. ­Open Administrative Tools - Component Services: Under Console Root go to Component Services- Computers - Right click My Computer and select properties, select the COM security tab, in “Access Permissions” click "Edit Default" select(or add then select) “Performance Monitor Users” group and allow local access and remote access and click ok. In “Launch and Activation Permissions” click “Edit Default” select(or add then select) “Performance Monitor Users” group and allow Local and Remote Launch and Activation Permissions. ­Open Administrative Tools - Component Services: Under Console Root go to Component Services- Computers - My Computer - DCOM Config - highlight “Windows Management and Instrumentation” right click and select properties, Select the Security tab, Under “Launch and Activation Permissions” select Customize, then click edit, add the “Performance Users Group” and allow local and remote Remote Launch and Remote Activation privileges. I am able to connect remotely via WMI Explorer but when I perform this query: Select CommandLine, ProcessId FROM Win32_Process I get a valid result but every row has an empty CommandLine. If I add the user to the Administrators group and re-run the query, the CommandLine column contains the expected data. It seems there is a permission I am missing somewhere but I am not having much luck tracking it down. Many thanks in advance.
