  • Does any CMS natively support something like aquaBrowser/Vufind

    What I'm looking for is to set up a CMS website with a tag cloud/search system where when you click a tag it shows as a search filter, and you get a new tag cloud which only shows tags from the articles that have the primary tag. This should let the user easily include or exclude tags from the search. Also i would like to let the user filter on publication date by using a slider... Check this for an example of how aquabrowser does this (just search for something and play with the tag cloud): http://kidscatalog.columbuslibrary.org It's not perfectly what I want and I don't want to use flash, but I like the concept alot. If something like this does not exist and i might have to code it myself, which cms is most recommended (eg easy to extend, already has tag clouds and search filters,...)

    In yesterday's blog entry, you saw how a menu item can be created, in this case with the label "Brand", especially for Java classes that extend TopComponent: And, as you can see here, it's not about the name of the class, i.e., not because the class above is named "BlaTopComponent" because below the "Brand" men item is also available for the class named "Bla": Both the files BlaTopComponent.java and Bla.java have the "Brand" menu item available, because both extend the "org.openide.windows.TopComponent"  class, as shown yesterday. Now we continue by creating a new JPanel, with checkboxes for each part of a TopComponent that we consider to be brandable. In my case, this is the end result, at deployment, when the Brand menu item is clicked for the Bla class: When the user (who, in this case, is a developer) clicks OK, a constructor is created and the related client properties are added, depending on which of the checkboxes are clicked: public Bla() {     putClientProperty(TopComponent.PROP_SLIDING_DISABLED, false);     putClientProperty(TopComponent.PROP_UNDOCKING_DISABLED, true);     putClientProperty(TopComponent.PROP_MAXIMIZATION_DISABLED, false);     putClientProperty(TopComponent.PROP_CLOSING_DISABLED, true);     putClientProperty(TopComponent.PROP_DRAGGING_DISABLED, false); } At this point, no check is done to see whether a constructor already exists, nor whether the client properties are already available.     After I upgraded from 13.04 to 13.10 my rhythmbox wouldn't work. After many failed attempts I ended up uninstalling and removing all traces of rhythmbox I could find. Now I've reinstalled rhythmbox, and am getting the error rhythmbox: error while loading shared libraries: librhythmbox-core.so.7: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory I've tried sudo apt-get install librhythmbox* Only to get Reading package lists... Done Building dependency tree Reading state information... Done Note, selecting 'librhythmbox-core5' for regex 'librhythmbox*' Note, selecting 'librhythmbox-core6' for regex 'librhythmbox*' Note, selecting 'librhythmbox-core7' for regex 'librhythmbox*' librhythmbox-core7 is already the newest version. 0 upgraded, 0 newly installed, 0 to remove and 4 not upgraded. Any ideas on how to get rhythmbox back to a working state?

    I'm looking for a preferably PHP and web based system, to run on Ubuntu server. Basically it should be a "file forum" in the sense that users can register and be approved to post files to categories. Users with "read" privileges can then go through the categories and download files. Basically I sort of want a FTP-like system, but it should be as easy to manage users, categories, etc as that of a forum system like vB or phpBB. If it could have a forum look and feel that would also be great, but I don't want any discussions taking place.

  • What to do about USB support?

    USB speeds are consistently slow in ubuntu, and have been for years. I just bought two new machines with usb 3.0, running 10.04, and yet nothing has changed, top speeds are only about 8.0 MB per second and they quickly drop to 2 or less. Its very frustrating. Are there any fixes for this at all? I find almost nothing online. The board is a gigabyte 970A-DS3 motherboard. Is there any driver I should install? I am using brand new usb sticks (kingston) and making sure to plug into the 3.0 (blue) slot.

    Hi I've made a small game for iPhone that I also want to run on Android but I'm having problems setting up Cocos2D-X for Android. I've downloaded and installed Android SDK and NDK (under my "/Users/username/Android"). Installed all necessary packages under SDK and created an Emulator. Copied Cocos2D-x under "/Users/username/cocos2dx". Installed Eclipse IDE with ADT Plugin. Opened "Users/username/cocos2dx/tests/build_native.sh" and changed "NDK_ROOT_LOCAL=/Users/username/Android/android-ndk", "COCOS2DX_ROOT_LOCAL=/Users/username/cocos2dx" to the values shown. On running the script using Terminal it compiles test project. What's next?

  • Heroku Problem During Database Pull of Rails App: Mysql::Error MySQL server has gone away

    Attempting to pull my database from Heroku gives an error partway through the process (below). Using: Snow Leopard; heroku-1.8.2; taps-0.2.26; rails-2.3.5; mysql-5.1.42. Database is smallish, as you can see from the error message. Heroku tech support says it's a problem on my system, but offers nothing in the way of how to solve it. I've seen the issue reported before - for example here. How can I get around this problem?   • Inflated ImageView to put in GalleryView isn't the right size

    I am trying to inflate an ImageView that scales a Drawable that I can display in a GalleryView. My code to inflate the view seems to work fine, except that the attributes of the ImageView are not applied. Specifically, the inflated ImageView does not have the width/height that I set for it via the android:layout params in XML. Can someone show me what I'm doing wrong? I want to set the width/height of the image in dp, so that it is the correct size across multiple screen dpis and support Android 1.5+.
