• Customise on screen keyboard

  How would one go about customising the on screen keyboard on a Microsoft Surface Pro? I've noticed that it doesn't have an alt or Esc key and I can't think of any good reason why those keys, among others, should not be there. In particular I want to use keys such as [ and ]. Also there are no up and down arrow keys. I already have a type cover but sometimes I'd like to use those keys without having the type cover attached. Ideally I'd like a way to enable those missing keys and perhaps to remove the ones that I don't want, such as the emoticon key.

• Unable to use strong encryption

  So I am exploring Apache to create a simple example: the default page and a directory "secure". I everyone to be able to access the server but, when one wants to access the "secure" directory, I the connection to use strong encryption. I am using apache2.4. However this is not working and I don't know why! • AuthSub token from Google/YouTube API is always returned as invalid

  Anyone out there have experience with the YouTube/Google API? I am trying to login to Google/Youtube using clientLogin, retrieve an AuthSub token, exchange it for a multi-session token and then use it in our upload form. Just a note that we are not going to have other users logging into our (secure) website, this is for our use only (no multi-users). We just want a way to upload videos to our YT account via our own website without having to login/upload to YouTube. Ultimately, everything is dependent on the first step. My AuthSub token is always being returned as invalid (Error '403'). All the steps I used are below with username/password changed. Anyone have an insight on why my AuthSub is always invalid? I am spending an enormous amount of time trying to get this to work. • DSOFramer closing Excel doc in another window. If unsaved data in file, dsoframer fails to open with

  I'm using Microsoft's DSOFramer control to allow me to embed an Excel file in my dialog so the user can choose his sheet, then select his range of cells; it's used with an import button on my dialog. The problem is that when I call the DSOFramer's OPEN function, if I have Excel open in another window, it closes the Excel document (but leaves Excel running). If the document it tries to close has unsaved data, I get a dialog boxclosing Excel doc in another window. If unsaved data in file, dsoframer fails to open with a messagebox: "Attempt to access invalid address". I built the source, and stepped through, and its making a call in its CDsoDocObject::CreateFromFile function, calling BindToObject on an object of class IMoniker. The HR is 0x8001010a "The message filter indicated that the application is busy". On that failure, it tries to InstantiateDocObjectServer by classid of CLSID Microsoft Excel Worksheet... this fails with an HRESULT of 0x80040154 "Class not registered". The InstantiateDocObjectServer just calls CoCreateInstance on the classid, first with CLSCTX_LOCAL_SERVER, then (if that fails) with CLSCTX_INPROC_SERVER. I know DSOFramer is a popular sample project for embedding Office apps in various dialogs and forms. I'm hoping someone else has had this problem and might have some insight on how I can solve this. I really don't want it to close any other open Excel documents, and I really don't want it to error-out if it can't close the document due to unsaved data. Update 1: I've tried changing the classid that's passed in to "Excel.Application" (I know that class will resolve), but that didn't work. In CDsoDocObject, it tries to open key "HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID{00024500-0000-0000-C000-000000000046}\DocObject", but fails. I've visually confirmed that the key is not present in my registry; The key is present for the guid, but there's no DocObject subkey. It then produces an error message box: "The associated COM server does not support ActiveX document embedding". I get similar (different key, of course) results when I try to use the Excel.Workbook programid. Update 2: I tried starting a 2nd instance of Excel, hoping that my automation would bind to it (being the most recently invoked) instead of the problem Excel instance, but it didn't seem to do that. Results were the same. My problem seems to have boiled down to this: I'm calling the BindToObject on an object of class IMoniker, and receiving 0x8001010A (RPC_E_SERVERCALL_RETRYLATER) "The message filter indicated that the application is busy". I've tried playing with the flags passed to the BindToObject (via the SetBindOptions), but nothing seems to make any difference. Update 3: It first tries to bind using an IMoniker class. If that fails, it calls CoCreateInstance for the clsid as a "fallback" method. This may work for other MS Office objects, but when it's Excel, the class is for the Worksheet. I modified the sample to CoCreateInstance _Application, then got the workbooks, then called the Workbooks::Open for the target file, which returns a Worksheet object. I then returned that pointer and merged back with the original sample code path. All working now.

• Microsoft SyncFramework - Sync different tables into one

  Hello, we are trying to get the Microsoft SyncFramework running in our application to synchronize an oracle db with a mobile device. Problem The queries that we need to gather the data on the oracle db take much time (and we haven't found a way to speed them up yet), so we try to split them up in as much portions as possible. One big part of the whole problem is, that we need different information out of one big table, that bloats a query if combined. Unfortunately, the SyncFramework allows only one TableAdapter per SyncTable. Now this is a problem for our application: If we were able to use more than one TableAdapter per SyncTable, we could easily spread the queries in a more efficient way. Using one query per Table which combines all the needed data takes way too much time. Ideas I thought of creating different TableAdapters for each one of the required queries and then merge the resulting datasets afterwards (preferably on the server). This seems to work, but is a rather awkward solution. Does someone of you know a better solution? Or do you have some ideas that could help? • Setting Session Variable from UpdatePanel

  I am using ASP.NET 2.0 AJAX Extensions 1.0 with the version v1.0.20229 of the AJAX Control Toolkit (which to my knowledge is the latest for .NET 2.0/Visual Studio 2005). My web page (aspx) has a DropDownList control on an UpdatePanel. In the handler for the DropDownList's SelectedIndexChanged event I attempt to set a session variable. The first time the event is fired, I get a Sys.WebForms.PageRequestManagerParserErrorException: "The message received from the server could not be parsed". If I continue, subsequent SelectedIndexChanged's are handled successfully. I have stumbled upon a solution whereby if I initialise the session variable in my Page_Load (so the event handler is just setting the value of a session variable that already exists as opposed to creating a new one) the problem goes away. I'm happy to do this, but I'm curious as to exactly what the underlying cause is. Can anyone explain? (My suspicion is that setting the session variable receives a response from the server which is then returned to the 'caller', but it's not the sort of response it knows how to deal with causing the exception?) • How to change the border on a listboxitem while using a predefined template

  Hey, I'm using one of the defined wpf themes for my application, so all my controls automatically are pimped according to that theme. Now i am filling a listbox with items (usercontrols), but not all of them should be visible at all time. But when i'm setting height to 0 (of usercontrol) or setting to invisible, i get a thick grey border of the listboxitems. Can someone help me override the border of the listboxitem or show me where in the template i need to change the border, cause i just can't find it.   I am trying to create a WCF client APP that is consuming a JAVA WS that uses username_token with message protection client policy. There is a private key that is installed on the server and a public certificate file was exported from the JKS keystore file. I have installed the public key into certificate store via MMC under Personal certificates. I am trying to create a binding that will encrypt the message and pass the username as part of the payload. I have been researching and trying the different configurations for about a day now. • Propel Single Table Inheritance Issue

  I have a table called "talk", which is defined as abstract in my schema.xml file. It generates 4 objects (1 per classkey): Comment, Rating, Review, Checkin It also generates TalkPeer, but I couldn't get it to generate the other 4 peers (CommentPeer, RatingPeer, ReviewPeer, CheckinPeer), so I created them by hand, and made them inherit from TalkPeer.php, which inherits from BaseTalkPeer. I then implemented getOMClass() in each of those peers. The problem is that when I do queries using the 4 peers, they return all 4 types of objects. That is, ReviewPeer will return Visits, Ratings, Comments, AND Reviews. Example: $c = new Criteria(); $c->add(RatingPeer::VALUE, 5, Criteria::GREATER_THAN); $positive_ratings = RatingPeer::doSelect($c); This returns all comments, ratings, reviews, & checkins that have a value 5. ReviewPeer should only return Review objects, and can't figure out how to do this. Do I actually have to go through and change all my criteria to manually specify the classkey? That seems a little pointless, since the Peer name already distinct. I don't want to have to customize each Peer. I should be able to customize JUST the TalkPeer, since they all inherit from it... I just can't figure out how. I tried changing doSelectStmt just in TalkPeer so that it automatically adds the CLASSKEY restriction to the Criteria. It almost works, but I get a: Fatal error: Cannot instantiate abstract class Talk in /models/om/BaseTalkPeer.php on line 503. Line 503 is in BaseTalkPeer::populateObjects(), and is the 3rd line below: $cls = TalkPeer::getOMClass($row, 0); $cls = substr('.'.$cls, strrpos('.'.$cls, '.') + 1); $obj = new $cls(); The docs talked about overriding BaseTalkPeer::populateObject(). I have a feeling that's my problem, but even after reading the source code, I still couldn't figure out how to get it to work. These numbers and the GUID held within the key gives important information to execute the HID.dll that is otherwise imposable to execute. The Control Panel/System/Hardware/Device manager/USB Serial Bus Controllers/Mass Storage Devices/details simply lists the registry data. The access to the programmer has been documented through the API32.dll with a number of procedures that accesses the registry. But that is not the problem yet it looks like the problem!!!!!!!!! The key is info about the registry and how to use it. These keys are viewed in RegEdit.exe it’s self. Some parts of the registry like the USB have been given a windows security system type of protection with a Aurthz.dll to give the USB read and right protection. Even the api32.dll. Now only Microsoft give out these details and we all know Microsoft hate Delphi. Now C users have enjoyed this access for over 10 years now. Now some will make out that you should never give out such information because some idiot may make a stupid virus (true), but the argument is also do Delphi users need to be denied USB access for another ten years!!!!!!!!!!!!. What I do not have is the skill in is assembly code. I’m seeking for some one that can trace how regedit.exe gets its access through Aurthz.dll to access the USB data. So I’m asking all who reads this:- to partition any friend they have that has this skill to get the Aurthz.dll info needed. I find communicating with USB.org they reply when they have a positive email reply but do not bother should their email be a slightly negative policy. For all simple reasoning, all that USB had to do was to have a secure key as they have done, and to update the same data into a unsecured key every time the data is changed for USB developer to access. And not bother developers access to Aurthz.dll. • Animate button on MouseOver and MouseDown

  I'm making my own ControlTemplate for a standard Button in WPF. I want to change the background of my button when the user hovers over the button with the mouse, but also when the user presses the button (to yet another color). This seems like a common behavior, but I can't get it to work. My template consists of a Border with an Image inside. It is the background color (a gradient really) of the Border that I want to animate. I have triggers in my template that activates animations (storyboards). The MouseOver/Out works just fine. My problem occurs when I press the button. The Press animation runs as it should, and so does the Release animation. But after this the MouseOut will never run. The button gets stuck in the MouseOver state. • Cocoa nextEventMatchingMask not receiving NSMouseMoved event

  Hello, I created a local event loop and showed up a borderless window (derived from NSPanel), I found in the event loop there's no NSMouseMoved event received, although I can receive Mouse button down/up events. What should I do to get the NSMouseMoved events? I found making the float window as key window can receive the NSMouseMoved events, but I don't want to change key window. And it appears this is possible, because I found after clicking the test App Icon in System Dock Bar, I can receive the mousemoved events, and the key window/mainwindow are unchanged. Here's the my test code: (Create a Cocoa App project names FloatWindowTest, and put a button to link it with the onClick: IBAction).   Hi, is there a way to configure hibernate3-maven-plugin so that a sequence generator is detected for a primary-key? I'm using a bottom-up approach for hibernate configuration (which means letting hibernate-tools generate the hibernate configuration using a jdbc-connection for you via reverse-engineering on an existing database schema). I've read this, but also this already (those two can be unrelated, but can also leave a hint).   I want to write a module (framework specific), that would wrap and extend Facebook PHP-sdk (https://github.com/facebook/php-sdk/). My problem is - how to organize classes, in a nice way. So getting into details - Facebook PHP-sdk consists of two classes: BaseFacebook - abstract class with all the stuff sdk does Facebook - extends BaseFacebook, and implements parent abstract persistance-related methods with default session usage Now I have some functionality to add: Facebook class substitution, integrated with framework session class shorthand methods, that run api calls, I use mostly (through BaseFacebook::api()), authorization methods, so i don't have to rewrite this logic every time, configuration, sucked up from framework classes, insted of passed as params caching, integrated with framework cache module I know something has gone very wrong, because I have too much inheritance that doesn't look very normal.Wrapping everything in one "complex extension" class also seems too much. I think I should have few working togheter classes - but i get into problems like: if cache class doesn't really extend and override BaseFacebook::api() method - shorthand and authentication classes won't be able to use the caching. Maybe some kind of a pattern would be right in here? How would you organize these classes and their dependencies? It's all very tight coupled - like look how i had to specify 'Facebook_Custom::api' instead of 'parent:api', to avoid api() method loop on Facebook_Cache class extending. Overall mess and ugliness. So again, this works but I'm just asking about patterns / ways of doing this in a cleaner and smarter way.

• WPF: Focus in a Window and UserControl

  I'm trying to get a UserControl to tab properly and am baffled. The logical tree looks like this. |-Window -Grid -TabControl -TabItem -StackPanel -MyUserControl |-StackPanel -GroupBox -Grid -ComboBox -Textbox1 -Textbox2 Everything works fine, except when the visibility converter for the ComboBox returns Visibility.Collapsed (don't allow user to change database mode), then when textbox1 is selected, instead of being able to tab through the controls in the UserControl, the focus shifts to a button declared at the bottom of the window. Nothing else apart from the controls displayed has TabIndex or FocusManager properties set. I'm banging my head against a brick wall and I must be missing something. • Single DispatcherServlet with Multiple Controllers

  I am trying to create some restful web services using Spring MVC 3.0. I currently have an issue that only 1 of my 2 controllers will work at any given time. As it turns out, whichever class comes first when sorted alphabetically will work properly. The error I get is: handleNoSuchRequestHandlingMethod No matching handler method found for servlet request: path '/polinq.xml', method 'GET', parameters map[[empty]] I had a very simliar message earlier also, except instead of the map being empty it was something like map[v--String(array)] Regardless of the message though, currently the LocationCovgController works and the PolicyInquiryController doesn't. If I change the change of the PolicyInquiryController to APolicyInquiryController, then it will start funcitoning properly and the LocationCovgController will stop working. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. • Object hierarchy returned by WCF Service is different than expected

  Good Day Everyone... My understanding may be wrong, but I thought once you applied the correct attributes the DataContractSerializer would render fully-qualified instances back to the caller. The code runs and the objects return. But oddly enough, once I look at the returned objects I noticed the namespacing disappeared and the object-hierarchy being exposed through the (web applications) service reference seems to become "flat" (somehow). Now, I expect this from a web-service…but not through WFC. Of course, my understanding of what WFC can do may be wrong. ...please keep in mind I'm still experimenting with all this. So my questions are… Q: Can I do something within the WFC Service to force the namespacing to render through the (service reference) data client proxy? Q: Or perhaps, am I (merely) consuming the service incorrectly? Q: Is this even possible?   Problem: I have many-to-many association between two entities A and B. I set A entity as an owner of their relationship(inverse=true is on A's collection in b.hbm.xml). When i delete an A entity, corresponding records in join table are deleted. When i delete an B entity, corresponding records in join table are not deleted (integrity violation exception). -- Let's consider some very simple example: class A{ Set<B> bset=new HashSet<B>(); //... } class B{ Set<A> aset=new HashSet<A>(); //... } File a.hbm.xml [m-to-m mappings only]: <set name="bset" table="AB"> <key name="a_id"/> <many-to-many column="b_id" class="B"/> </set> File b.hbm.xml [m-to-m mappings only]: <set name="aset" table="AB" inverse="true"> <key name="b_id"/> <many-to-many column="a_id" class="A"/> </set> Database relations: A(id,...) B(id,...) AB(a_id,b_id) Suppose that we have some records in AB joint table.
