Nothing you can't extract yourself with SQL queries, but sometimes it is just nice to have one tool which is very easy to use.   • "Never do in code what you can get the SQL server to do well for you" - Is this a recipe for a bad design?

    It's an idea I've heard repeated in a handful of places. Some more or less acknowledging that once trying to solve a problem purely in SQL exceeds a certain level of complexity you should indeed be handling it in code. The logic behind the idea is that for the large majority of cases, the database engine will do a better job at finding the most efficient way of completing your task than you could in code. Especially when it comes to things like making the results conditional on operations performed on the data. Arguably with modern engines effectively JIT'ing + caching the compiled version of your query it'd make sense on the surface. The question is whether or not leveraging your database engine in this way is inherently bad design practice (and why). The lines become blurred further when all the logic exists inside the database and you're just hitting it via an ORM.

    Microsoft has recently launched Razor view engine with ASP.NET MVC RC2. It’s going to be promising one. There are lots of features bundled with this view engine. But in earlier version of ASP.NET 3 MVC. We were are not having Synatx intellisense provided for asp.net mvc views  in Visual Studio 2010. So either we have to depend third party tools like Resharper or we have to manage it without intellisesnse. But with ASP.NET MVC 3 RC2 Microsoft has moved one step forward and its providing syntax intellisense without installing any third party addons in Visual Studio. Here is example of it.     Seagate today announced a near complete overhaul of their enterprise product line. This include second generation SSD now with either SAS and SATA interfaces. The first generation Pulsar SSD only supported SATA interface. The new 2.5in 15K and 10K hard drive models have higher capacity. The 2.5in 7.2K hard drive was upgraded to 1TB last month? In principle, at low overall CPU utilization, for non-parallel execution plans, it should not matter whether HT is enabled or not. Of course, DBA life is never that simple.     My observations are that IO to lob pages (and row overflow pages as well?) is restricted to synchronous IO, which can result in serious problems when these reside on disk drive storage. Even if the storage system is comprised of hundreds of HDDs, the realizable IO performance to lob pages is that of a single disk, with some improvement in parallel execution plans.     I want to move my current Tumblr blog to static HTML blog. Currently I am using a custom domain, I am planning on doing the move when Google sees domain name change. I am considering two options: Buying a hosting service Using GitHub pages Buying a hosting service would probably mean I am going to pay for lots of things that I don't need like PHP, MySQL, e-mail service etc. On the other hand, if I use GitHub pages, I can't use .htaccess file to make 301 redirects. I want to change my URL structure and this is important to me. I was wondering if I use: <meta http-equiv=refresh content="0; url=http://example.com/newurl" /> Would Google see it as 301 redirect, so that I won't use my search engine value?

I had the following questions. 1) What industries most widely use search engine optimization services? 2) Is it small business or big firms that use SEO services typically? 3) What is SEO pricing typically dependent upon and how much is it on average? 4) Do SEO services really increase traffic?
