• Installation of SAP Web Application Server 6.20 in Windows Vista

  I tried installing trial version of sap netweaver 7.1 in windows vista in my laptop but i couldnt succeed there.. then i tried installing SAP WEB AS 6.20 now.I am able to succeed till 91% completion.After that i get some errors and the installation stops... if anybody have any experiences please share.it will be really helpful.I mentioned the complete log details below. nfo: INSTGUI.EXE Protocol version is 10.   We have an application here using handhelds to scan barcodes. These handhelds are actually making a remote desktop session towards a server where the application runs. Works fine. Now we have bought some new Motorola MC55's running 'Windows Mobile 6.1 Classic', and when using the application over remote desktop: it mangles the characters of the barcodes.... I already tried following things: When scanning a barcode on the MC55 itself it is displayed correctly When scanning a barcode via the remote desktop into a notepad session it is incorrect. Played with all options of the 'Remote Desktop Mobile' - no result Disabled 'autocorrect' and 'suggest words when entering text' on the input settings - no result The strange things is: a barcode which consists of only numbers gets scanned correctly the mangled characters comes through in lower case For some codes \t is mangled in between (should normally be entered after the barcode) e.g.: 'PERIN4' becomes 'ERINp4' 'MGZB' becomes 'GZB m' 'BAK664' becomes 'AK664 b' 'MAGBFA01' becomes 'AGBFmA01' '5021879949500' gets scanned correctly Final solution: Suppllier of the handhelds said the handheld was sending the characters too fast over the remote desktop connection. They changed the handheld to wait for 50ms between sending each character, which produced correct results right now. Scanning a barcode became somewhat slower but it's almost not remarkable to endusers.

  Here's what I am trying to do, unless I am crazy: I am trying to use Tomcat with the multiple workers, so far I got OpenBD working, but having trouble with Railo, and will be tackling Adobe after. each engine deployed as a war separated by different workers I wanted to keep both the sites and engines inside my sites directory I have to remap the symlink for the WEB-INF when I switch engines = have not found a way around this my thought is to have everything separated into modules and I want to be able to execute both cfm and php code in a single site.  Ideally, it would be amazing if there would be a way to not have to remap the symlink as well. thoughts? can this be done?   I configured iis7 ftp to allow ssl connections. I set the ssl firewall to use ports 50000-50050. If I set up a custom service on my fortigate firewall for ftps with source ports 990-50050 and destination ports 990-50050, set it to a firewall policy and connect from a client it connects and works successfully. If I create a service FTPS Control with source port 990 and destination port 990 and another service,FTP Data with source ports 50000-50050 and destination ports 50000-50050 add them to a group FTPSSL, replace the ftps policy with FTPSSL and try connecting it tries to connect to port 990 and eventually times out. Is there a way to configure the service to only use the ports I need and not every port from 990 up?

• Network Printer or Share Printer on Server?

Is it better to share the printer by plugging the usb into the sevrer, and do a windows share, or use the built in network port?   i've got ubuntu server acting as my lamp server for my php websites. mysql server is installed and opened for the localhost port. i have read about how to tunnel through ssh to my mysql server. but i havent understood why this is better than opening the mysql server directly for the internet port. cause in either way, a hacker could brute force the port for passwords. either mysql port (3306) if opened for the public or ssh (22) if using tunneling. so why is it better to use ssh tunneling for mysql (and many other server applications)?

• Grant access for users on a separate domain to SharePoint

  Hello. I just completed development of a SharePoint site on a virtual server and am currently in the process of granting users from a different domain to the site. The SharePoint domain is SHAREPOINT, and the domain with the users I want to give access to is COMPANY. I have provided them with a link to the site and added them as users via SharePoint, which is all I thought I would need to do. However, when they go to the link, the site shows them a SharePoint error page. • RPCSS kerberos issues on imaged Windows workstations

  While doing some unrelated troubleshooting I came across a set of Event Log entries that have me concerned. Machine Name: labcomputer82 Source: Security-Kerberos Event ID: 4 Event Description: The Kerberos client received a KRB_AP_ERR_MODIFIED error from the server labcomputer143$. The target name used was RPCSS/imagemaster4.ad.domain.edu. This indicates that the target server failed to decrypt the ticket provided by the client. This can occur when the target server principal name (SPN) is registered on an account other than the account the target service is using. Please ensure that the target SPN is registered on, and only registered on, the account used by the server. This error can also happen when the target service is using a different password for the target service account than what the Kerberos Key Distribution Center (KDC) has for the target service account. Please ensure that the service on the server and the KDC are both updated to use the current password. If the server name is not fully qualified, and the target domain (AD.DOMAIN.EDU) is different from the client domain (AD.DOMAIN.EDU), check if there are identically named server accounts in these two domains, or use the fully-qualified name to identify the server. There are three machine names used in this message. It's generated on labcomputer82, it's attempting to talk to another lab workstation called labcomputer143, and the service in question (RPCSS) refers to the name of the machine that this machine was imaged from (and possibly also that of labcomputer143, I'm not sure). The thing that has me raising both eyebrows is that the machine named labcomputer82 is attempting to use an SPN of RPCSS/imagemaster4.ad.domain.edu. The SPN attribute on the computer object in AD looks just fine. It has all the names it should have. Of the over 3,000 computer objects in our AD domain, somewhere around 1,700 of the are computer-lab seats that are frequently imaged. If we're doing something wrong, I'd like to know in time to get our procedures modified (and people retrained) for fall quarter. But if this is normal for imaged machines, I'll just continue ignoring these.

• Cisco 837 not passing UDP traffic properly (was: DNS query problem)

  We have a setup of ADSL line - Cisco 837 ADSL router - Zyxel ZyWall 35 firewall/NAT - Switch - LAN. It has been fine for years, suddenly DNS resolution stopped working from the LAN to public DNS servers. No changes that I know of, so I can't revert anything. Current behaviour: DNS requests from the LAN using TCP show up in the oubound firewall log, in the Cisco debug log, in the dns-server-firewall, in tcpdump on the DNS server, the answer comes back, it works fine. DNS requests from the LAN using UDP show up in the outbound firewall log, in the Cisco debug log, but does NOT show in the dns-server-firewall, not in tcpdump on the DNS server, times out. DNS requests from the Cisco using UDP show up in the dns-server-firewall and in tcpdump on the DNS server, answer received, works fine. netcat connections to port 53 or a random port by TCP show up in the dns-server-firewall netcat connections to port 53 or a random port by UDP do not show up in the dns-server-firewall Summary: TCP seems fine throughought. UDP works from the Cisco over the ADSL, and it works from the LAN to the Cisco, but it doesn't seem to cross the Cisco 837 properly. Update: confirmed with netcat that any UDP traffic from the LAN is affected, not just traffic to port 53. Update: If I change the firewall's external IP to any other IP in the subnet, this starts working. When I put it back, it stops working. I now suspect it's an ISP issue (does that sound plausible?), and am removing the Cisco config.

• Setup Linksys 3200 remote access

  I'm trying to setup remote access for my linksys 3200 so that I can configure it through the WAN port. I have turned on remote access, however when I try to connect I get a 404 error. The settings I have are: When I try to access xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx:9999 I just get a 404 error. I have allowed RDP access to a computer behind the router and this works fine on the same IP address. Any idea's on what else I have to do to allow remote management access? UPDATE: I tried changing the port to 80 and it works. Change it back to any other number and it doesn't work. Modem is setup with a DMZ to the router's IP. Why does it only work on port 80? BTW I can't use port 80 because there is a website hosted behind the router.

• PXE booting LACP hosts on Force10 S50N with FTOS

  Hardware: S50N Firmware: FTOS 8.4.2.6 Problem: We're trying to PXE boot some servers that are connected via port-channel interfaces with LACP. Current Work-around: we PXE boot a server with a single interface (eth0), and then use a Perl script to turn up the port-channel interfaces after the server is built. Details: Is anyone doing anything similar on Force10 S50 switches with FTOS? If not, is anyone doing this on another S series, or larger chassis-based Force10? I'm wondering if Native VLAN will solve this, since ports in a port-channel cannot explicitly have a VLAN set, and they don't seem to use the tagged or untagged VLAN that the port channel is in. I will confirm this next (I think it's the only thing I haven't tried) Juniper Example: http://broken.net/openindiana/how-to-pxe-boot-systems-on-lacp-using-juniper-switches/ Cisco: there are plenty of documented ways to solve this issue on IOS and Nexus Update/Edit: since there seems to be no way to use interface or port-channel mode commands to get the individual interfaces to show up in spanning-tree (rtsp in this case), the ports should never go into a forwarding state. I'm not going to mess with it anymore unless a) someone that has experience passes it on, or b) Force10 comes up with a solution for this (I'm guessing it will only be introduced on other S platforms (S55, S60), since the S50 seems to be near EOL). I'm basing that on the fact that the Open Automation type features are only being supported on the newer switches.

• ESXI 5.1 - Unable to trunk to cisco switch

  I have configured my esxi host vSwitch1 to use the secondary NIC on my VMware host. On vSwitch1 configuration I have set the VLAN to 4095 which specifies to allow all VLANs. If my cisco switch port configuration is set to an access port my server can ping the vlan interface on the switch. If my cisco switch port configuration is set to a trunk, whilst it stays UP UP and CDP information is available, I lose my ping from VMware VM server to the local vlan interface on the switch and I lose any server connectivity to my network. • Apache2 will not start on OpenSUSE after enabling mod_pagespeed

  I have a linode VPS, running openSUSE 12.1 (A little outdated, but stable). I have installed the RPMS for mod_pagespeed. mod_pagespeed.conf has "ModPagespeed on". • MacPorts, how to run "post-destroot" script

  I'm trying to install MacPorts gdb; it seems to be poorly supported… Running "port install" installs it to /opt/local/libexec/gnubin/gdb, but the intent doesn't seem to be to add that to $PATH. The portfile doesn't define any parameters for port select which is typically used to set a MacPorts installation to handle default Unix commands. But it does include these lines: foreach binary [glob -tails -directory ${destroot}${prefix}/bin g*] { ln -s ${prefix}/bin/${binary} ${destroot}${prefix}/libexec/gnubin/[string range $binary 1 end] } This is buried under an action labeled post-destroot. destroot is a MacPorts command but post-destroot is not. The script is apparently not run by port install or port activate, or if it's failing it's doing so silently. Is there a better approach than creating the links manually?

• AWS lighttpd: Sending a copy of requests to test.

  I have a load balanced service on AWS. So the ELB evenly distributes the load across my servers. Each server is running lighttpd that does logging and forwards the requests to my service (on the same machine). I have written a new version of the service. It is installed and running on an EC2 machine test1 (basically a mirror of our current server but the new service running instead of the original) and I have done some preliminary tests that look good. But what I would like to do is mirror a fraction of incoming traffic to the new version of the service so I can do some comparisons between an original version and the new version based on real traffic. Thus I was thinking I could modify one box behind the ELB to duplicate its traffic to the test1. I was thinking I could modify the configuration of lighttpd so that each request is mirrored/duplicated. i.e. the original service keeps responding as before but a mirror request is sent to test1 but the reply is just dropped). Unfortunately I have not been able to work this out. Any ideas on how I could mirror the requests from one box to itself and test1. Or any other ideas for testing.

• Debian amd64 on Dell Studio 540 reboot hangs

• SSH tunnel over http proxy with blocked 443 (SSL)

  Is it possible to create an SSH tunnel over http-proxy when https access is denied? I had such configuration in .ssh\config Host home User root Hostname *my-home-pc-with-ssh-access-allowed* Port 8090 ProxyCommand corkscrew db-isa-01 8080 %h %p ~/.ssh/.corkscrew-db-isa-auth IdentityFile ~/.ssh/id_rsa Where db-isa-01 is my corporate proxy server. Today the admins blocked all https access and allowed it only for few servers on the white list. I used this command to create a tunnel: ssh -D 7070 -o 'GatewayPorts yes' -A -q -g -t root@home and now it doesn't work. As I can understand, that's because our proxy denies all https connections Proxy could not open connnection to ***: Proxy Error ( The specified Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) port is not allowed. Forefront TMG is not configured to allow SSL requests from this port. Most Web browsers use port 443 for SSL requests. ) P.S. I use Windows 7, and corscskrew with cygwin, so Linux solutions not suitable for me.
