  • How can I load a Class contained in a website from a DLL referenced by that website???

    Ok so this is alittle bit obscure and I'm not sure its the best way of doing what I'm trying to do but here goes. Basically I have a Presentation Layer Dll in my web site which handles the Model View Presenter classes. The presentation layer also handles login for my website and then calls off to a web service. Currently whenever the presentation layer calls to a model it verifies the users details and if they are invalid it calls to a loginHandler which redirects the user to the login page. However I cannot dynamically load a new istance of the Login Page in my website from within my Presentation layer. I've tried to use reflection to dynamically load the class but Since the method call is in the presentation assembly it is only looking within that assembly while the page I want to load is in the website. heres the reflection code that loads the View: public ILoginView LoadView() { string viewName = ConfigurationManager.AppSettings["LoginView"].ToString(); Type type = Type.GetType(viewName, true); object newInstance = Activator.CreateInstance(type); return newInstance as ILoginView; } Anyone got any suggestions on how to search within the website assembly? Ideal I don't want to tie this implementation into the website specifically as the presentation layer is also used in a WPF application.

If you didnt choose any (empty isset?) then false.. else echo Y or N(what you picked)

  • Can't disable method parenthesis auto-complete in Eclipse

    I'm trying to disable the automatic closing of brackets in Eclipse, and while I've mostly succeeded, I can't stop the editor from inserting a closing parenthesis for a method call. The result is that when I type: myBool.equals(true); it inserts a closing parenthesis as soon as I type the opening parenthesis, and what I actually get is: myBool.equals(true);) I've disabled all of the auto-complete options in the Preferences - Java - Editor - Typing menu, as well as Preferences - Java - Editor - Content Assist - Fill method arguments and show guessed arguments. I also disabled the smart insert mode option under the Edit menu. Is there another option somewhere else I need to use to stop Eclipse from doing this? This is with Eclipse 3.5.2 (Build ID M20100211-1343) in case it matters. Edited to add: I should also mention that this only happens if I wait for the "intellisense" pop-up with suggested method names to appear after I type the period. If I just continuously type the code without waiting for the suggestion box to appear, the closing parenthesis doesn't get inserted.

  • Resolve sibling folder in JavaScript Function

    Hi, I am trying to pass into an JavaScript function two paths for an XML and XSLT. It would appear that in the sample HTML below that the use of "../xsl/filename" does not work for me in the xslt() function. If I specify the path as being "./filename" though this does work. Does anyone know how I can work around this or find some way that I can specify a sibling folder without an absolute path reference? I would prefer not to have to change my file paths as my development environment is set up with the xslt's, sample data and source code structured in a particular way.   • Converting a Linq expression tree that relies on SqlMethods.Like() for use with the Entity Framework

    I recently switched from using Linq to Sql to the Entity Framework. One of the things that I've been really struggling with is getting a general purpose IQueryable extension method that was built for Linq to Sql to work with the Entity Framework. This extension method has a dependency on the Like() method of SqlMethods, which is Linq to Sql specific. What I really like about this extension method is that it allows me to dynamically construct a Sql Like statement on any object at runtime, by simply passing in a property name (as string) and a query clause (also as string). Such an extension method is very convenient for using grids like flexigrid or jqgrid. In addition, I render a switch bound to active. The update handler in the DataSource is never invoked (not even for the first chosen switch and despite the DataSource for that first toggled switch is updated).   • Accessing Static Methods on a Generic class in c#

    Hello, I have the following situation in code, which I suspect may be a bit dodgey: I have a class: abstract class DataAccessBase<T> : IDataAccess where T : AnotherAbstractClass This class DataAccessBase also has a static factory method which creates instances of derived classes of itself using an enum value in a which statement to decide which derived type to create: static IDataAccess CreateInstance(TypeToCreateEnum) Now, the types derived from DataAccessBase<T> are themselves NOT generic, they specify a type for T: class PoLcZoneData : DataAccessBase<PoLcZone> // PoLcZone is derived from AnotherAbstractClass So far I am not sure if this is pushing the limits of good use of generics, but what I am really concerned about is how to access the static CreateInstance() method in the first place: The way I am doing this at the moment is to simply pass any type T where T : AnotherAbstractClass. In particular I am passing AnotherAbstractClass itself. This allows compilation just fine, but it does seem to me that passing any type to a generic class just to get at the statics is a bit dodgey. I have actually simplified the situation somewhat as DataAccessBase<T> is the lower level in the inheritance chain, but the static factory methods exists in a middle tier with classes such as PoLcZoneData being the most derived on the only level that is not generic. What are peoples thoughts on this arrangement?

    Hi, I have an application which runs on tomcat 6.0.20 server on linux ubuntu server. It generates a huge amount of logs in the catalina.out folder, most of these are generated while using the application, but are not generated by the application.   • How can I display multiple django modelformset forms in a grouped fieldsets?

    I have a problem with needing to provide multiple model backed forms on the same page. I understand how to do this with single forms, i.e. just create both the forms call them something different then use the appropriate names in the template. Now how exactly do you expand that solution to work with modelformsets? The wrinkle, of course, is that each 'form' must be rendered together in the appropriate fieldset. The problem is that I can't figure out a way to do the same thing with the templating engine. The system does work if I layout all the base models together then all the likes models after wards, but it doesn't meet the layout requirements. EDIT: Updated the problem statement to be more clear about what exactly I'm processing (I'm processing models not forms in the for loop)

    Hi All, Im trying to write an extension method that I can use to copy values from one object property to another object of a different type, as long as the property names and types match exactly. This is what I have: public static T CopyFrom<T>(this T toObject, object fromObject) { var fromObjectType = fromObject.GetType(); var fromProperties = fromObjectType.GetProperties(); foreach (PropertyInfo toProperty in toObject.GetType().GetProperties()) { PropertyInfo fromProperty = fromObjectType.GetProperty(toProperty.Name); if (fromProperty != null) // match found { // check types var fromType = fromProperty.PropertyType.UnderlyingSystemType; var toType = toProperty.PropertyType.UnderlyingSystemType; if (toType.IsAssignableFrom(fromType)) { toProperty.SetValue(toObject, fromProperty.GetValue(fromObject, null), null); } } } return toObject; } This is working great for non boxed types, but Nullable<T> returns false when I call toType.IsAssignableFrom(fromType) because its type is Nullable<T> and is not the underlying type T. I read here that GetType() should unbox the Nullable<T> so it returns T but if I call that on PropertyInfo.PropertyType I get ReflectedMemberInfo and not the type T im looking for. I think im missing something obvious here, so I thought I would throw it open to SO to get some advice. Anyone have any ideas? Thanks, Jamee

The SQL is from SQL 2000 and uses some system objects to make it work. master.dbo.spt_provider_types master.dbo.syscharsets systypes syscolumns sysobjects I know SQL 2005 does no longer use system tables and I can get the same information from views, but I am looking for a solution that will work for both SQL 2000 and 2005/2008.   • How to add XmlInclude attribute dynamically

    I have the following classes [XmlRoot] public class AList { public List<B> ListOfBs {get; set;} } public class B { public string BaseProperty {get; set;} } public class C : B { public string SomeProperty {get; set;} } public class Main { public static void Main(string[] args) { var aList = new AList(); aList.ListOfBs = new List<B>(); var c = new C { BaseProperty = "Base", SomeProperty = "Some" }; aList.ListOfBs.Add(c); var type = typeof (AList); var serializer = new XmlSerializer(type); TextWriter w = new StringWriter(); serializer.Serialize(w, aList); } } Now when I try to run the code I got an InvalidOperationException at last line saying that The type XmlTest.C was not expected. Use the XmlInclude or SoapInclude attribute to specify types that are not known statically. I know that adding a [XmlInclude(typeof(C))] attribute with [XmlRoot] would solve the problem. But I want to achieve it dynamically. Because in my project class C is not known prior to loading. Class C is being loaded as a plugin, so it is not possible for me to add XmlInclude attribute there. I tried also with TypeDescriptor.AddAttributes(typeof(AList), new[] { new XmlIncludeAttribute(c.GetType()) }); before var type = typeof (AList); but no use. It is still giving the same exception. Does any one have any idea on how to achieve it?

  • Jquery get each div's sub child divs and grab info into an array

    I have a some html that looks like this <div id="main"> <div id="sub_main_1" class="sub_main"> <input type="text" class="sub_name_first" /><br /> <input type="text" class="sub_name_second" /><br /> </div> <div id="sub_main_2" class="sub_main"> <input type="text" class="sub_name_first" /><br /> <input type="text" class="sub_name_second" /><br /> </div> </div> I would like to pull out each sub_main divs information into an array in javascript. So far I have this as my jquery code $('#main').find('.sub_main').each( function() { alert('hi'); }); The alert is just a test that it should show "hi" twice. But this is not working. I am also not clear on how I can store the two inputs in a javascript array. Any help would be great! Thanks,

  • Date formats in ActiveRecord / Rails 3

    In my model, I have a departure_date and a return_date. I am using a text_field instead of the date_select so that I can use the JQuery datepicker. My app is based in the US for now but I do hope to get international members. So basically this is what is happening. The user (US) types in a date such as 04/01/2010 (April 1st). Of course, MySQL stores it as a datetime such as 2010-04-01... Anyway, when the user goes to edit the date later on, it shows "01/04/2010" because I am using a strftime("%m/%d/%Y) which doesn't make sense....so it thinks it is January 4th instead of the original April 1st. It's like the only way to accurately store the data is for the user to type in: 2010-04-01 I hope all of this makes sense. What I am really after is a way for the user to type in (or use the datepicker) a date in their native format. So someone in Europe could type in 01/04/2010 for April 1st but someone in the US would type in 04/01/2010. Is there an easy, elegant solution to this? Thanks for any suggestions.

  • MySQL MyISAM table performance... painfully, painfully slow

    I've got a table structure that can be summarized as follows: pagegroup * pagegroupid * name has 3600 rows page * pageid * pagegroupid * data references pagegroup; has 10000 rows; can have anything between 1-700 rows per pagegroup; the data column is of type mediumtext and the column contains 100k - 200kbytes data per row userdata * userdataid * pageid * column1 * column2 * column9 references page; has about 300,000 rows; can have about 1-50 rows per page The above structure is pretty straight forwad, the problem is that that a join from userdata to page group is terribly, terribly slow even though I have indexed all columns that should be indexed. The time needed to run a query for such a join (userdata inner_join page inner_join pagegroup) exceeds 3 minutes. This is terribly slow considering the fact that I am not selecting the data column at all. Example of the query that takes too long: SELECT userdata.column1, pagegroup.name FROM userdata INNER JOIN page USING( pageid ) INNER JOIN pagegroup USING( pagegroupid ) Please help by explaining why does it take so long and what can i do to make it faster.   • JQuery Autocomplete plugin not working with JQuery 1.4.1

    I've been using the JQuery Autocomplete plugin with JQuery version 1.3.2, and it has been working great. I recently updated JQuery in my project to version 1.4.2, and the Autocomplete plugin is now broken. The JQuery code to add items to a textbox on my web page doesn't seem to be getting called at all. Does anyone know if the JQuery Autocomplete plugin is incompatible with JQuery version 1.4.2, and if there is a fix for this problem?   • JavaScript keeps returning ambigious error

  • how to 'scale' these three tables?

    I have the following Tables: Players id playerName Weapons id type otherData Weapons2Player id playersID_reference weaponsID_reference That was nice and simple. Now I need to SELECT items from the Weapons table, according to some of their characteristics that i previously just packed into the otherData column (since it was only needed on the client side). The problem is, that the types have varying characteristics - but also a lot of similar data. So I'm trying to decide on the following possibilities, all of which have their pros and cons. Solution A Kill the Weapons table, and create a new table for each Weapon-Type: Weapons_Swords id bladeType damage otherData Weapons_Guns id accuracy damage ammoType otherData But how will i Link these to the Players ? create Weapons_Swords2Players, Weapons_Guns2Players for each weapon-type? (Will result in a lot more JOINS when loading the player with all his weapons...and it's also more complicated to insert a new player) or add another column to Weapons2Players called WeaponsTypeTable, then do sub-selects to the correct Weapons sub-table (seems easier, but not really right, slightly easier insert i guess) Solution B Keep the Weapons table, and add all the fields i need to it. The Problem is that then there will be NULL fields, since not all Weapon-Types use all fields (can't be right) Weapons id type accuracy damage ammoType bladeType otherData This seems to be pretty basic stuff, but i just can't decide what's best. Or is there a correct Solution C? many thanks.

  • 406 Not Acceptable error when using Jquery $.post in Firefox but not in Safari or Chrome

    I'm using Jquery (1.3.2) $.post command to trigger an ajax call to a rails server. The code works great on Safari and on Google Chrome (mac), but when I tried it on Firefox (3.5.7), I got a weird '406 Not Acceptable' error. When I look at the headers, it Firefox indicated that it accepted only ' text/javascript' responses. And the response Content-Type was 'text/html; charset=utf-8'. In Chrome the accepted types were 'application/json, text/javascript, /, text/javascript' and the response Content-Type was 'application/json; charset=utf-8'. I tried to force the content type in rails to 'text/javascript' format.json do render :json => @races.to_json, :content_type => 'text/javascript' end The content type is indeed changed in Chrome, but not in Firefox where it remains 'text/html'. Here is the code I used to trigger the ajax call. $.post( "/locator", params, function(data){...}, "json" ); Is there something I can do to make this work in Firefox? Thanks
