  • encryption problem for wlan profile

    - by Jassi
i am trying to encrypt keyMaterial element from wireless profile. so I want to convert byte array into OLECHAR but it is giving me wrong output not key sea the below code you may know the solution... DATA_BLOB in; DATA_BLOB out; BYTE pin=(BYTE)"FIPL2"; DWORD din=strlen((char*)pin)+1; in.pbData = pin; in.cbData = din; if(CryptProtectData(&in,L"what is it",NULL,NULL,NULL,0,&out)) { BYTE *b=out.pbData; USES_CONVERSION; bstr=SysAllocString(W2BSTR((const WCHAR *)b)); HRCALL(peSubS222->put_text(bstr), ""); SysFreeString(bstr); bstr=NULL; } else { cout<<"NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO :("; } what is missing please help me out

  • Simple integer encryption

    - by tloflin
Is there a simple algorithm to encrypt integers? That is, a function E(i,k) that accepts an n-bit integer and a key (of any type) and produces another, unrelated n-bit integer that, when fed into a second function D(i,k) (along with the key) produces the original integer? Obviously there are some simple reversible operations you can perform, but they all seem to produce clearly related outputs (e.g. consecutive inputs lead to consecutive outputs). Also, of course, there are cryptographically strong standard algorithms, but they don't produce small enough outputs (e.g. 32-bit). I know any 32-bit cryptography can be brute-forced, but I'm not looking for something cryptographically strong, just something that looks random. Theoretically speaking it should be possible; after all, I could just create a dictionary by randomly pairing every integer. But I was hoping for something a little less memory-intensive.

  • Do encryption algorithms provide really unique results?

    - by Mikulas Dite
I was wondering whether md5, sha1 and anothers return unique values. For example, sha1() for test returns a94a8fe5ccb19ba61c4c0873d391e987982fbbd3, which is 40 characters long. So, sha1 for strings larger than 40 chars must be the same (of course it's scrambled, because the given input may contain whitespaces and special chars etc.). Due to this, when we are storing users' passwords, they can enter either their original password or some super-long one, which nobody knows. Is this right, or do these hash algorithms provide really unique results - I'm quite sure it's hardly possible.

  • iPhone AES encryption issue

    - by Dilshan
Hi, I use following code to encrypt using AES. - (NSData*)AES256EncryptWithKey:(NSString*)key theMsg:(NSData *)myMessage { // 'key' should be 32 bytes for AES256, will be null-padded otherwise char keyPtr[kCCKeySizeAES256 + 1]; // room for terminator (unused) bzero(keyPtr, sizeof(keyPtr)); // fill with zeroes (for padding) // fetch key data [key getCString:keyPtr maxLength:sizeof(keyPtr) encoding:NSUTF8StringEncoding]; NSUInteger dataLength = [myMessage length]; //See the doc: For block ciphers, the output size will always be less than or //equal to the input size plus the size of one block. //That's why we need to add the size of one block here size_t bufferSize = dataLength + kCCBlockSizeAES128; void* buffer = malloc(bufferSize); size_t numBytesEncrypted = 0; CCCryptorStatus cryptStatus = CCCrypt(kCCEncrypt, kCCAlgorithmAES128, kCCOptionPKCS7Padding, keyPtr, kCCKeySizeAES256, NULL /* initialization vector (optional) */, [myMessage bytes], dataLength, /* input */ buffer, bufferSize, /* output */ &numBytesEncrypted); if (cryptStatus == kCCSuccess) { //the returned NSData takes ownership of the buffer and will free it on deallocation return [NSData dataWithBytesNoCopy:buffer length:numBytesEncrypted]; } free(buffer); //free the buffer; return nil; } However the following code chunk returns null if I tried to print the encryptmessage variable. Same thing applies to decryption as well. What am I doing wrong here? NSData *encrData = [self AES256EncryptWithKey:theKey theMsg:myMessage]; NSString *encryptmessage = [[NSString alloc] initWithData:encrData encoding:NSUTF8StringEncoding]; Thank you

  • Logging in with sha1() encryption.

    - by Samir Ghobril
    Hey guys, I added this to my sign up code : $password=mysql_real_escape_string(sha1($_POST['password'])); and now it inserts the password into the database while its encrypted. But signing in doesn't seem to work anymore. Here is the login code. function checklogin($username, $password){ global $mysqli; $password=sha1($password); $result = $mysqli->prepare("SELECT * FROM users WHERE username = ? and password=?"); $result->bind_param("ss", $username, $password); $result->execute(); if($result != false){ $dbArray=$result->fetch(); if(!$dbArray){ echo '<p class="statusmsg">The username or password you entered is incorrect, or you haven\'t yet activated your account. Please try again.</p><br/><input class="submitButton" type="button" value="Retry" onClick="location.href='."'login.php'\">"; return; } $_SESSION['username']=$username; if(isset($_POST['remember'])){ setcookie("jmuser",$username,time()+60*60*24*356); setcookie("jmpass",$password ,time()+60*60*24*356); } redirect(); }

  • java RSA Multiple Encryption

    - by user1763730
I encrypt my message with a symmetric key and the symmetric key itself has to be further encrypted with different RSA public keys. When I tried to implement the above I got the following error: javax.crypto.IllegalBlockSizeException: The input was invalid: Invalid input length. at com.rsa.shareCrypto.j.hD.engineDoFinal(Unknown Source) at javax.crypto.Cipher.doFinal(Cipher.java:2087) at wrap1.main(wrap1.java:69) Is there a way to solve this problem ?

  • Two pass blur shader using libgdx tile map renderer

    - by Alexandre GUIDET
I am trying to apply the following technique: blur effect using two pass shader to my libgdx game using the OrthogonalTiledMapRenderer. The idea is to blur the background wich is also a tilemap but rendered with another camera with a different zoom applied. Here is a screen capture without effect: Using the OrthogonalTiledMapRenderer sprite batch like this: backgroundMapRenderer.getSpriteBatch().setShader(shaderBlurX); backgroundMapRenderer.render(layerBackground); I get the following render: Wich is ok for X blur pass. I then try using frame buffer object like in this example. But the effect seems to be too much zoomed: I may be messing up with the camera and the zoom factor. Here is the code: private ShaderProgram shaderBlurX; private ShaderProgram shaderBlurY; private int FBO_SIZE = 800; private FrameBuffer targetA; private FrameBuffer targetB; targetA = new FrameBuffer(Pixmap.Format.RGBA8888, FBO_SIZE, FBO_SIZE, false); targetB = new FrameBuffer(Pixmap.Format.RGBA8888, FBO_SIZE, FBO_SIZE, false); targetA.begin(); Gdx.gl.glClearColor(1, 1, 1, 0); Gdx.gl.glClear(GL10.GL_COLOR_BUFFER_BIT); backgroundMapRenderer.render(layerBackground); targetA.end(); targetB.begin(); Gdx.gl.glClearColor(1, 1, 1, 0); Gdx.gl.glClear(GL10.GL_COLOR_BUFFER_BIT); backgroundMapRenderer.getSpriteBatch().setShader(shaderBlurX); backgroundMapRenderer.render(layerBackground); targetB.end(); TextureRegion back = new TextureRegion(targetB.getColorBufferTexture()); back.flip(false, true); backgroundMapRenderer.getSpriteBatch() .setProjectionMatrix(backgroundCamera.combined); backgroundMapRenderer.getSpriteBatch().setShader(shaderBlurY); backgroundMapRenderer.getSpriteBatch().begin(); backgroundMapRenderer.getSpriteBatch().draw(back, 0, 0); backgroundMapRenderer.getSpriteBatch().end(); I know I am making something the wrong way, but I can't find any resources about applying two passes shader using tile map renderer. Does someone know how to achieve this?

  • SQL SERVER – Finding Shortest Distance between Two Shapes using Spatial Data Classes – Ramsetu or Adam’s Bridge

    - by pinaldave
Recently I was reading excellent blog post by Lenni Lobel on Spatial Database. He has written very interesting function ShortestLineTo in Spatial Data Classes. I really loved this new feature of the finding shortest distance between two shapes in SQL Server. Following is the example which is same as Lenni talk on his blog article . DECLARE @Shape1 geometry = 'POLYGON ((-20 -30, -3 -26, 14 -28, 20 -40, -20 -30))' DECLARE @Shape2 geometry = 'POLYGON ((-18 -20, 0 -10, 4 -12, 10 -20, 2 -22, -18 -20))' SELECT @Shape1 UNION ALL SELECT @Shape2 UNION ALL SELECT @Shape1.ShortestLineTo(@Shape2).STBuffer(.25) GO When you run this script SQL Server finds out the shortest distance between two shapes and draws the line. We are using STBuffer so we can see the connecting line clearly. Now let us modify one of the object and then we see how the connecting shortest line works. DECLARE @Shape1 geometry = 'POLYGON ((-20 -30, -3 -30, 14 -28, 20 -40, -20 -30))' DECLARE @Shape2 geometry = 'POLYGON ((-18 -20, 0 -10, 4 -12, 10 -20, 2 -22, -18 -20))' SELECT @Shape1 UNION ALL SELECT @Shape2 UNION ALL SELECT @Shape1.ShortestLineTo(@Shape2).STBuffer(.25) GO Now once again let us modify one of the script and see how the shortest line to works. DECLARE @Shape1 geometry = 'POLYGON ((-20 -30, -3 -30, 14 -28, 20 -40, -20 -30))' DECLARE @Shape2 geometry = 'POLYGON ((-18 -20, 0 -10, 4 -12, 10 -20, 2 -18, -18 -20))' SELECT @Shape1 UNION ALL SELECT @Shape2 UNION ALL SELECT @Shape1.ShortestLineTo(@Shape2).STBuffer(.25) SELECT @Shape1.STDistance(@Shape2) GO You can see as the objects are changing the shortest lines are moving at appropriate place. I think even though this is very small feature this is really cool know. While I was working on this example, I suddenly thought about distance between Sri Lanka and India. The distance is very short infect it is less than 30 km by sea. I decided to map India and Sri Lanka using spatial data classes. To my surprise the plotted shortest line is the same as Adam’s Bridge or Ramsetu. Adam’s Bridge starts as chain of shoals from the Dhanushkodi tip of India’s Pamban Island and ends at Sri Lanka’s Mannar Island. Geological evidence suggests that this bridge is a former land connection between India and Sri Lanka. Hi, I have the following two domains: domain.com test.domain.com Both point to same folder which is "public_html". What I want is a different robots.txt file for each domain. So when someone browse domain.com/robots.txt then a different file is shown. And when someone go to test.domain.com/robots.txt then a different file is shown. How can I do this using URL rewriting in .htacces? Thanks

  • Two interfaces with identical signatures

    - by corsiKa
I am attempting to model a card game where cards have two important sets of features: The first is an effect. These are the changes to the game state that happen when you play the card. The interface for effect is as follows: boolean isPlayable(Player p, GameState gs); void play(Player p, GameState gs); And you could consider the card to be playable if and only if you can meet its cost and all its effects are playable. Like so: // in Card class boolean isPlayable(Player p, GameState gs) { if(p.resource < this.cost) return false; for(Effect e : this.effects) { if(!e.isPlayable(p,gs)) return false; } return true; } Okay, so far, pretty simple. The other set of features on the card are abilities. These abilities are changes to the game state that you can activate at-will. When coming up with the interface for these, I realized they needed a method for determining whether they can be activated or not, and a method for implementing the activation. It ends up being boolean isActivatable(Player p, GameState gs); void activate(Player p, GameState gs); And I realize that with the exception of calling it "activate" instead of "play", Ability and Effect have the exact same signature. Is it a bad thing to have multiple interfaces with an identical signature? Should I simply use one, and have two sets of the same interface? As so: Set<Effect> effects; Set<Effect> abilities; If so, what refactoring steps should I take down the road if they become non-identical (as more features are released), particularly if they're divergent (i.e. they both gain something the other shouldn't, as opposed to only one gaining and the other being a complete subset)? I'm particularly concerned that combining them will be non-sustainable as soon as something changes. The fine print: I recognize this question is spawned by game development, but I feel it's the sort of problem that could just as easily creep up in non-game development, particularly when trying to accommodate the business models of multiple clients in one application as happens with just about every project I've ever done with more than one business influence... Also, the snippets used are Java snippets, but this could just as easily apply to a multitude of object oriented languages.

  • PowerPivot: Putting two stocks on the same PivotChart

Playing with the same scenario, I felt the need to compare two stocks on the same chart, choosing the stock names with a slicer. As always, a picture is worth a thousand words, the final result I want to achieve is something like this, where I am comparing Microsoft over Apple during the last 10 years. It is clear that I am not going to comment in any way why traders seem...(read more)

  • Read Committed Snapshot Isolation– Two Considerations

    - by GavinPayneUK
The Read Committed Snapshot database option in SQL Server, known perhaps more accurately as Read Committed Snapshot Isolation or RCSI, can be enabled to help readers from blocking writers and writers from blocking readers.  However, enabling it can cause two issues with the tempdb database which are often overlooked. One can slow down queries, the other can cause queries to fail . Overview of RCSI Enabling the option changes the behaviour of the default SQL Server isolation level, read...(read more)
