    Hi everybody , I have an AJAX call, which is doing this call every 5 seconds and when the call "succeed " I have a trigger success: function (msg) { ... $('#test').trigger('click'); return false; }, ... But i need to do this trigger just once , the first time, not every 5 second ! Can somebody suggest me how to stop this trigger, or maybe to use another stuff to trigger this "click " Thanks!

I created the following function: $("#loginLink, #registerLink") .click(function () { $('#loginLink').prop('disabled', true); $('#registerLink').prop('disabled', true); dialog(this); }); It calls the dialog correctly but doesn't disable the links and if I click the buttons more than once it calls up more than one dialog box. Is there something I am doing wrong? I can't see why it would not work.

  • How to jQuery slidedown once page has already been loaded

    I am having a timing issue when attempting to slide down my more info div. My desired functionality is that the div slidesdown from the top once the page has already been rendered. My problem is if I use $(document).ready().. the animation does not visibly occur. Here is my code: $(document).ready(function() { $(".MoreInfo").slideDown('slow'); }); If I strap it to some other element's click for example, it works beautifully. But I am not sure how to make it visibly slide down once the page has loaded. Thanks!

However, when I run the following code, I always get an alert saying "undefined". I'm wondering if it's because this function executes when the document is ready? Is there a different place I should be doing this?     I've created a few input fields, that I am cleaning up as the user types. So, I'm using a keystroke detection event, like .keyup() It's all working very well, but I do notice one thing that's rather annoying for the users. While the script is cleaning the data as they type, their cursor is being sent to the end of the input field. So, if you want to edit the middle of the value, you're cursor immediately goes to the end of the box. Does anyone know of a way to maintain the cursor's current position inside the input field? I'm not holding my breath, but I thought I'd ask.   • Manipulating jQuery to retrieve the onclick function of an item which lies directly below the curren

    First off, I want to thank you for looking into my question as I really do appreciate your time. I've built a list of items using php by having a foreach loop cycle through an associative array printing the array data as parameters of an onclick function call and gives each item it cycles through an ID of $thecount. All items retrieved have the same parent div and calls the very same onclick function, only with 11 different parameters. My question is how do I go about calling the onClick("function();") of an item directly below the current focus, making it the new focus, only without a physical click? If this is confusing to you whatsoever, I'm essentially building a dynamic playlist, and I've already implemented the listener for when the player's current item has finished playing, Now I'm having trouble grasping how I'd go about having the next item in the list become the new focus while also calling it's specific onClick() function once the player returns that it has finished with the current file. All without any user interaction besides the initial play call. If it helps I'm using the most recent release of Longtails' JW Player and once again thank you very much for your time!

  • jQuery - Loading content into div, styles not applied?

    Hi! I'm trying to get this content loader to work and I've managed to get it to get new content, once the content is loaded it isn't styled correctly. Also the character "é" becomes a questionmark. Doctype problem? As well as the h2 tag normally having Cufon applied to it is not triggering. So basically, this content loader require me to have a bunch of pages being essentially the same, except for the content I want to retreice. This way, users can use the actual URL as you'd normally exect. Only when a link is clicked on an already loaded page, it's only the content from the #content div that's realle being replaced. I can post code here, but I think it's better to just watch it happen on the testpage. It's very low on graphics btw ;) http://www.matkalenderen.no Just click the blue text link and you'll see it. Also, the red button on the second loaded content is supposed to revert the content back to previous. But it's not being triggered or something. What's happening?

  • jquery .hide() bug in safari

    ive been having issues with this hide bug thats only affecting safari. This is a simple vertical scroller that hides the first element in the list then shows the last. and works in everything apart from safari. the problem seems to be that the divs im working with here share the same class but have unique ids like #mycollectioncomment1, #mycollectioncomment2, #mycollectioncomment3 etc... however hiding just one of these divs hides all the other divs that share the same class.   • Is using jquery to call a WCF Data Service from the UI violating the MVC pattern.

    I'm fairly new to ASP.Net MVC 2 and understand the MVC pattern in itself. But my question is what's the best way to populate dropdownlists in the UI sticking to the MVC pattern. Should I be going through the controller? Every article I've seen to do this shows how to do it using javascript and jquery. I have a test application that I'm re-writing in MVC2 I have my dropdowns working with jquery basically calling a WCF Data Service that returns JSON which populates the dropdowns. Seems to me though that this is bypassing the controller and going straight to the model therefore strictly violating the MVC pattern. Or am I missing something obvious here. You thoughts or best practices would be greatly welcome here. Thanks

    I'm creating a slideshow effect using hidden div's. Once a thumbnail is clicked, the corresponding div appears in a window and the other divs are hidden. However, I also need the page to reload. I attempted to use something like this: $("a").click(function() { location.reload(); }); However, this will reload the page without following the link (something like a href="#div02"). How do I get it to both follow the link and reload the page?

    Is it possible to catch an error when using JSONP with jQuery? I've tried both the $.getJSON and $.ajax methods but neither will catch the 404 error I'm testing.
