• Is there a way in javascript to create a date object using year & ISO week number?

  I am trying to create a google annotated timeline viz. For that I need to input the date of the event. The only information I have is the year & the ISO week number for the event. Is there a way in Javascript to create a Date object using just the year & week number? I googled it but did not come across any feasible solution. Thanks for the help!

My question is: Does parameter p get the full copy of object p1? If so, I wonder if this is a good practice? (I assumed when the struct gets big in size, this will create a lot of copy overhead).

• How to call a specific, unknown Python object attribute?

  I'm working to create a simple Python script that will ultimately tell you how many blog entries were posted in a given month, and the pyblog app is proving very helpful. However, when I create the blog object, I don't know how to access it's various attributes.   I'm playing with PropertyDescriptor and ICustomTypeDescriptor (still) trying to bind a WPF DataGrid to an object, for which the data is stored in a Dictionary. Since if you pass WPF DataGrid a list of Dictionary objects it will auto generate columns based on the public properties of a dictionary (Comparer, Count, Keys and Values) my Person subclasses Dictionary and implements ICustomTypeDescriptor. ICustomTypeDescriptor defines a GetProperties method which returns a PropertyDescriptorCollection. PropertyDescriptor is abstract so you have to subclass it, I figured I'd have a constructor that took Func and an Action parameters that delegate the getting and setting of the values in the dictionary. I then create a PersonPropertyDescriptor for each Key in the dictionary like this: foreach (string s in this.Keys) { var descriptor = new PersonPropertyDescriptor( s, new Func<object>(() => { return this[s]; }), new Action<object>(o => { this[s] = o; })); propList.Add(descriptor); } The problem is that each property get's its own Func and Action but they all share the outer variable s so although the DataGrid autogenerates columns for "ID","FirstName","LastName", "Age", "Gender" they all get and set against "Gender" which is the final resting value of s in the foreach loop. How can I ensure that each delegate uses the desired dictionary Key, i.e. the value of s at the time the Func/Action is instantiated? Much obliged.   I have exported a pair of cookies from Firefox that are valid for the URL in question and tried accessing/downloading the protected content off that address, but the end result is a return to the login page. I have tried doing the same thing for 3 other websites with similar outcome. Any clues as to what I might be doing wrong? • Do I have to worry about escaping XML reserved characters before I return a DataContract object from

  Hi, I am pretty inexperienced with WCF. I have a DataContract that implements the IExtensibleDataObject interface. Some of the members of this object are populated from freetext input and could contain XML reserved characters ('', for example). I imagine that I get escaping of these characters for free with WCF, but I have been looking around and could not find anything commenting on this one way or another. Is this the case? I have set my service to log the messages that it sends and receives for viewing in the Trace Viewer. Part of a message that my service returns looks like this: <sInstructions>"></sInstructions> Now, I have a couple questions about this. 1) Is it actually transmitting "&gt; and just showing it in a more readable form in the trace viewer? 2) If it is actually is transmitting ">, is this legal XML?

  In my Java application I have some copy-constructors like this public MyClass(MyClass src) { this.field1 = src.field1; this.field2 = src.field2; this.field3 = src.field3; ... } Now Netbeans 6.9 warns about this and I wonder what is wrong with this code? My concerns: Using the getters might introduce unwanted side-effects. The new object might no longer be considered a copy of the original. If it is recommended using the getters, wouldn't it be more consistent if one would use setters for the new instance as well?

I want to set up Nginx as a caching reverse proxy in front of Apache/Django: to have Nginx proxy requests for some (but not all) dynamic pages to Apache, then cache the generated pages and serve subsequent requests for those pages from cache. Ideally I'd want to invalidate cache in 2 ways: Set an expiration date on the cached item To explicitly invalidate the cached item. E.g. if my Django backend has updated certain data, I'd want to tell Nginx to invalidate the cache of the affected pages Is it possible to set Nginx to do that? How?

  Hello! I have a few classes (heat, gas, contact, pressure) inheriting from a main one (sensor). I have a need to store them in a vector<Sensor *> (part of the specification). At some point in time, I need to call a function that indiscriminately stores those Sensor *. (also part of the specification, not open for discussion) Something like this: for(size_t i = 0; i < Sensors.size(); ++i) Sensors[i]->storeSensor(os) //os is an ofstream kind of object, passed onwards by reference Where and how shall storeSensor be defined? • What is the pythonic way to add type information to an object's attributes?

  I'm building classes where I know the types of the attributes, but Python of course doesn't. While it's un-pythonic to want to tell it, supposing I do want to, is there an idiomatic way to do so? Why: I'm reading in serialised data (without type information) involving objects-nested-inside-objects. It's easy to put it into nested dictionaries, but I want it in objects of my class-types, to get the right behaviours as well as the data. For instance: suppose my class Book has an attribute isbn which I will fill with an ISBNumber object. My serialised data gives me the isbn as a string; I would like to be able to look at Book and say "That field should be filled by ISBNumber(theString)." Bonus glee for me if the solution can be applied to classes I get from someone else without editing their code.

What am I doing wrong? I've also tried new URL("http://user:pass@myipcam/snapshot.jpg"), but that doesn't work either.

  I try to access some values in a NSMutableArray I created, but I only get some numbers (address?) if I try to access them. I was able to initialize an array and can add and change objects with [myNSMutableArray addObject:[NSNumber numberWithInt:10]] and [myNSMutableArray replaceObjectAtIndex:0 withObject:[NSNumber numberWithInt:47] I also can print the value at index [0] with NSLog(@"%@", [myNSMutableArray objectAtIndex:0]); and I get 47 as expected. But how can I access the integer value of the object in the array so I can save it tomyIntValue?
