Selecting an item shows the RowDetailsTemplate which is where my problem lies - why does the RowDetailsTemplate expand beyond the width of the containing DataGrid (thus forcing a horizontal scrollbar), and more importantly, how do I stop it doing this?   I have this code in my ASP.NET application written in C# that is trying to read the eventlog, but it returns an error. EventLog aLog = new EventLog(); aLog.Log = "Application"; aLog.MachineName = "."; // Local machine foreach (EventLogEntry entry in aLog.Entries) { if (entry.Source.Equals("tvNZB")) Label_log.Text += "<p>" + entry.Message; } One of the entries it returns is "The description for Event ID '0' in Source 'tvNZB' cannot be found. The local computer may not have the necessary registry information or message DLL files to display the message, or you may not have permission to access them. The following information is part of the event:'Service started successfully.'" I only want the 'Service started successfully'. Any ideas?

• Use Dojo Drag and Drop together with Dojo Moveable

  Hi, I'm using Dojo.dnd to transfer items between to areas. The problem is: the items will snap into place once I drop them, but I'd like to have them stay where I drop them, but only for one area. Here's a little code to explain this better: <div id="dropZone" class="dropZone"> <div id="itemNodes"></div> <div id="targetZone" dojoType="dojo.dnd.Source"></div> </div> "dropZone" is a DIV that contains two dojo.dnd.Source-areas, "itemNodes" (created programmatically) and "targetZone". Items (DIVs with images) should be dragged from a simple list out of "itemNodes" into "targetZone" and stay where they are dropped. As soon as they are dragged out of "targetZone" they should snap back to the list inside "itemNodes". Here's the code I use to create the items: var nodelist = new dojo.dnd.Source("itemNodes"); {Smarty-Loop} nodelist.insertNodes(false, ['<img class="dragItem" src="{$items->info.itemtext}" alt="{$items->info.itemtext}" border="0" />']); {/Smarty-Loop} But this way I just have two lists of items, the items dropped into "targetZone" won't stay where I dropped them. I've tried a loop dojo.query(".dojoDndItem").forEach(function(node) to grab all items and change them to a "moveable"-type: using dojo.dnd.move.constrainedMoveable will change the items so they can always be moved around (even in "itemNodes") using dojo.dnd.move.boxConstrainedMoveable and defining the "box" to the borders of "targetZone" makes it possible to just move the items around inside "targetZone", but as soon as I drop them, I can't grab and move them back out So here's the question: is it possible to create two dnd.Sources where I can move items back and forth and let the items be "moveable" only in one of the sources?Or is there a workaround like making the items moveable and if they're not dropped into "targetZone" they'll be moved back to the list in "itemNodes" automatically? Once the page is submitted, I have to save the position of every item that has been placed into "targetZone". (The next step will be positioning the items inside "targetZone" on page load if the grid has already been filled before, but I'd be happy to just get the thing working in the first place.) • Database design for summarized data

  I have a new table I'm going to add to a bunch of other summarized data, basically to take some of the load off by calculating weekly avgs. My question is whether I would be better off with one model over the other. One model with days of the week as a column with an additional column for price or another model as a series of fields for the DOW each taking a price. I'd like to know which would save me in speed and/or headaches? Or at least the trade off. IE. ID OBJECT_ID MON TUE WED THU FRI SAT SUN SOURCE OR ID OBJECT_ID DAYOFWEEK PRICE SOURCE

The application have a good internet connection and there is no problem reaching the app server-side api. I see in analytics that lots of startups and click-events the past few days are lost, even I know the traffic is normal since i can see statistics from the the server api. In the analytics reports I see a day by day under-reporting. So the problems seems to be spreading/growing to all the devices using this application. Im wondering why google does not answer this in their mail-groups - several people have complained about this...well, well... I found this thread relevant: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/682560/java-net-socketexception-broken-pipe But, I'm still not sure if there is anything I can do to fix it or not. If there is nothing I can do to fix it, I guess its not my fault that it got broken. But i got a feeling it is, since the problem got dramatically worse on the last deploy to Android market. • Overlay WriteableBitmap with color

  I'm trying to overlay a WriteableBitmap with a certain color in Silverlight. I have a black and white base image, which I'm using to create smaller WriteableBitmap images for a new composite image and I want to overlay either the black or white part of the source image cut-out with a certain color before adding it to the composite image. What I'm doing now is: var cutOut = new WriteableBitmap(8, 14); /* cut out the image here */ cutOut.Render(sourceImage, transform); // sourceImage is the base image cutOutImage.Source = cutOut; // cutOutImage is an Image element in XAML compositeImage.Render(cutOutImage, transform2); // compositeImage is the final WriteableBitmap that is shown on screen I tried the methods on http://blogs.silverarcade.com/silverlight-games-101/15/silverlight-blitting-and-blending-with-silverlights-writeablebitmap/ and using the extension methods from hxxp://writeablebitmapex.codeplex.com/, but I cannot seem to get a color overlay on the cutOut image before rendering it to the compositeImage. Does anyone know of a good method to do this? Thanks in advance.

• WPF - List View Row Index and Validation

  Hi, I have a ListView with TextBoxes in second column. I want to validate that my text box does not contain a number if the third column(data_type) is "Text". I am unable to do the validation. I tried a few approaches. In one approach I try to handle the MouseDown event and am trying to get the Row number so that I can get the data_type value of that row. I want to us this value in the Validate method. I have been struggling for a week now. • header and footer in Prawn PDF

  Hello all, I have read through all relevant posts on Prawn but found no mentioning (even in Prawn's own documentation) of headers and footers. However, I did see a demo on Prawnto's own website about headers and footers. I copied the entire source of that demo just to see if it works but an error of undefined method "header" is complained about. Am I to understand that Prawn took out header and footer recently in the gem or is there something else I need to do first to use header and footer? • Defining a ContextMenu in a DataGridRow style

  I'm trying to clean up some of my xaml in my views by moving a lot of the DataGrid styles into a ResourceDictionary. One of the things I'd like to move is the ContextMenu that is bound to some commands in the ViewModel. However, when I move the context menu to the ResourceDictionary, the commands are are never firing anymore, and I can't figure out why. I've defined the ContextMenu in the DataGridRow style so that when the user right clicks on the columnheader, no ContextMenu is shown... it will only be shown they right click on a row. Am I doing something wrong here?   So, I'm creating a standard user-data collection form that will be used by standard web browsers, as well as the iPhone and iPad. The app will allow users to create new records, as well as edit and delete existing records. I've gotten the gist of using html5's 'localstorage' to create a client-side data source and am looking for direction for getting existing data from a server into a client-side data source, and then being able to edit or delete that data, or to append a new record to the existing data. Finally, being able to save the updated data back to the server. It sounds like a lot, I know. But I've been pouring through html5 tuts and can't seem to find exactly what I'm looking for.

• WebClient error when using a thread in .NET

  I'm having a very weird error using the WebClient class in .NET 4. The app simply downloads some files off the internet and provides output on a textbox (the GUI is WPF). The method that does this is the following: void DownloadFiles(object files) { fileL = (List<string>) files; foreach (string url in fileL) { byte[] data; using (System.Net.WebClient k = new WebClient()) { data = k.DownloadData(url); } //Bunch of irrelevant code goes here... } } (I added the using while trying to divine [yes I'm that desperate/ignorant] a solution, the problem happens even if the webclient is declared and initialized outside the foreach loop) Now the problem appears only when I'm executing this method on a thread separate from the WPF UI main thread. If it is executed on the UI thread then it works perfectly. When a new thread is created with: Thread t = new Thread(DownloadFiles); t.Start(files); The first time the code goes into the loop it will work, but when its the second pass inside the loop, I will always receive a TargetParameterCountException. I can't make any sense of this error. Any help is very much appreciated. EDIT Here are the Exception Details: Exception.Message = "Parameter count mismatch." • SSIS how to set connection string dynamically from a config file

  Hi, I am using sql server integration services(SSIS) in sql server business intelligent devolopment studio. I need to do a task --that is. I have to read from a source database and put it into a destination flat file.But the same time the source databse should be configurable. That means in the Oledbconnection manager connection string should change dynamically.this connection string should be taking from a configuration/xml/flat file. I read that i can use varaibles and expressions to change the connection string dynamically.But how do i read connection string value from a config/xml/flat file and set the variable? This part i am unable to do.Or is this the right way to achieve this.. Can we add web.config files to ssis project.? I am new to SSIs. Please provide some help with examles etc. and this is quiet urgent for me. Thanks SNA.

• JPA Entity (in multiple persistence-unit) in OSGi (Spring DM) Environnement is confusing me.

  Hi, I'm a bit confused about a strange behavior of my JPA's related objects. I have three bundle : The User bundle does contain some user-related objects, but mainly the User object. The Energy bundle does contain some energy-related objects, and particularly a ConsumptionTerminal which contains a List of User. The Index bundle does contain an Index object that has no dependency at all. My OSGi environment is the following : A DataSource bundle that provide 2 services : dataSource and jpaVendorAdapter. The three bundles. They consume dataSource and jpaVendorAdapter. I'm using named @PersistenceUnit annotation like @PersitenceUnit(name = 'securityPU') (for the User bundle). And finally, I'm using EclipseLink as Jpa provider and Spring DM (+ Spring DM Server in the development process) The problem is the following : When the User bundle is deployed, I'm able to persist User objects. When the User bundle and Energy bundles are both deployed, I'm not able to persist User objects (neither the Energy object). But I don't have any exception at all ! There is no problem at all with the Index bundle. The bug is dataSource independent (I tried with PostgreSQL and MySQL so far). My first conclusion was that the <class>net.nextep.amundsen.security.domain.User</class> in both persistence unit was causing the trouble. I tried without it (and hiding the User dependent object in the Energy bundle) but it failed too. I'm a bit confused about that bug. I'm also not quite sure about the transaction management in this context. I wasn't the one who designed this architecture (but I tell my intern OK without testing it.. shame on me) but if I could understand this bug and maybe fix it without rewrite the bundle (and break my intern work), I would appreciate. Am I doing something wrong ? (it's obvious, but what..) Did I miss something while reading documentation ? By the way, I'm also looking for some best practices or advices when it comes to JPA, EclipseLink (or whatever JPA Provider) and Spring DM (and OSGi in general). • WebClient error when using a thread in .NET 4

  I'm having a very weird error using the WebClient class in .NET 4. The app simply downloads some files off the internet and provides output on a textbox (the GUI is WPF). The method that does this is the following: void DownloadFiles(object files) { fileL = (List<string>) files; foreach (string url in fileL) { byte[] data; using (System.Net.WebClient k = new WebClient()) { data = k.DownloadData(url); } //Bunch of irrelevant code goes here... } } (I added the using while trying to divine [yes I'm that desperate/ignorant] a solution, the problem happens even if the webclient is declared and initialized outside the foreach loop) Now the problem appears only when I'm executing this method on a thread separate from the WPF UI main thread. If it is executed on the UI thread then it works perfectly. When a new thread is created with: Thread t = new Thread(DownloadFiles); t.Start(files); The first time the code goes into the loop it will work, but when its the second pass inside the loop, I will always receive a TargetParameterCountException. I can't make any sense of this error. Any help is very much appreciated. EDIT Here are the Exception Details: Exception.Message = "Parameter count mismatch."   From the documentation of Image.FromHbitmap() at http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/k061we7x%28VS.80%29.aspx : The FromHbitmap method makes a copy of the GDI bitmap; so you can release the incoming GDI bitmap using the GDIDeleteObject method immediately after creating the new Image. This pretty explicitly states that the bitmap handle can be immediately deleted with DeleteObject as soon as the Bitmap instance is created. Looking at the implementation of Image.FromHbitmap() with Reflector, however, shows that it is a pretty thin wrapper around the GDI+ function, GdipCreateBitmapFromHBITMAP(). There is pretty scant documentation on the GDI+ flat functions, but http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms533971%28VS.85%29.aspx says that GdipCreateBitmapFromHBITMAP() corresponds to the Bitmap::Bitmap() constructor that takes an HBITMAP and an HPALETTE as parameters. The documentation for this version of the Bitmap::Bitmap() constructor at http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms536314%28VS.85%29.aspx has this to say: You are responsible for deleting the GDI bitmap and the GDI palette. However, you should not delete the GDI bitmap or the GDI palette until after the GDI+ Bitmap::Bitmap object is deleted or goes out of scope. Do not pass to the GDI+ Bitmap::Bitmap constructor a GDI bitmap or a GDI palette that is currently (or was previously) selected into a device context. The .Net documentation says I can delete the bitmap handle immediately, and the GDI+ documentation says the bitmap handle must be kept until the wrapping object is deleted, but both are based on the same GDI+ function. Furthermore, the GDI+ documentation warns against using a source HBITMAP that is currently or previously selected into a device context. While I can understand why the bitmap should not be selected into a device context currently, I do not understand why there is a warning against using a bitmap that was previously selected into a device context. That would seem to prevent use of GDI+ bitmaps that had been created in memory using standard GDI. So, in summary: Does the original bitmap handle need to be kept around until the .Net Bitmap object is disposed? Does the GDI+ function, GdipCreateBitmapFromHBITMAP(), make a copy of the source bitmap or merely hold onto the handle to the original? Why should I not use an HBITMAP that was previously selected into a device context?

  I'm trying to talk to a C# program that uses protobuf-net from an iphone using http://code.google.com/p/metasyntactic/wiki/ProtocolBuffers Unfortunately the .proto file I've been given (generated from the C# source code) includes an a line that protoc is rejecting: repeated Pair_Guid_List`1 Local = 6; It appears that this is because the source data is a C# Dictionary, with a Guid key and a class as the value. Is there a way to cope with this better? The protobuf-net version in use is r278.zip. (The C# sending and receiving these protobufs all works fine, it's just when we add the iphone into the mix that this becomes an issue.)

When having a gridview on the View, is the controller who has to set up the Data source, columns, etc? or I just have to expose the DataBinding stuff, fire it from the controller and let the html/codebehind on the view handle all the rendering and wiring up?   OData is Microsoft's repackaging of its Astoria (now WCF Data Services) RESTful query/update protocol. If I want to use Java to create an OData compatible data source, how do I do that? Similarly, if I want to consume an OData data source from Java, how do I do that? http://www.odata.org/ Partial answer below. The OData website suggests that Restlet supports OData.
