• How to flag a class as under development in Java

  I'm working on a internship project, but I have to leave before I can finish up everything. I have 1 class that is not stable enough for production use. I want to mark/flag this class so that other people will not accidentally use it in production. I have already put the notice in Javadoc, but that doesn't seem enough. Some compiler error or warning would be better. The code is organized like this: [Package] | company.foo.bar.myproject |-- Class1.java |-- Class2.java |-- Class3.java <--(not stable) If there was a single factory class that calls those classes in public methods, I could have set the method to class3 as private. However the API is NOT exposed that way. Users will directly use those class, e.g. new Class1();, but I can't make a top-level class private. What's the best practice to deal with this situation?

• Is it possible to pay customers with PayPal?

  Usually with PayPal we buy goods and services by sending money from customer to business. Now, I want my business to pay my customers; I want to allow them to withdraw money from a virtual wallet on my website. I did notice there is an 'Adaptive Payments API' which mentioned something vaguely similar to this, but I haven't been able to search up enough information to come to any conclusion. So is it possible to send money from business to customer (autonomously) with PayPal? If not, are there any alternatives?

  Twitter is down right now, and one of my site's home pages relies on getting data from Twitter (relies is the problem - it should be more of an accessory feature, as it just shows follow count from its feed).   I can't deploy/manage my Joomla websites On Ubuntu 12.04 Zend Server PHP 5.3.14 due to permissions during Joomla installation/J! extensions installation. All files are unwriteable. Only CHMOD 777 will help but of course it's not resolving the problem due to security issues. I think it's because cgi-fcgi is not shipped with Zend Server (only with Zend Server for Windows) Or maybe there is different solution how to make it work? PHP info on Ubuntu Zend Server Server API: Apache 2.0 Handler PHP Version 5.3.14 Zend Server Community Edition 5.6.0 Server Software Apache/2.2.22 (Ubuntu) Zend Framework 1.12.0 I'm already asked similar question here, but unfortunately without solution yet so Ubuntu Community please advice.   I am developing a game, but as I am working on it alone, the amount of content I can create is very limited. Because of that I want my game to be modded, for this purpose I am planning to create a complete modding API which would be exposed for lua scripting. I would also create tutorials to get people started. And the "Original" game would also be a "mod"(similar to Warcraft III maps) . My question is: What can a developer do to encourage modding of its game? PS: my game is a sandbox-ish multiplayer survival(most things are procedural).

So he knows the core language? He knows visual c++? He knows how to program with WIN API? He knows how to program in linux with gtk? Network programming?   Today , I try to write a Silverlight app that talks to SharePoint 2010 using the REST API.However after deploy the silverlight app and run the code , I got the following error.In order to fix this I need to make the target framework of your caller application to 4.0,in this case I need to use Silverlight 4.0 instead 3.0.After I have done that and redeploy the solution to the SharePoint.It works like a charm.   Exceptions details: System.Data.Services.Client.DataServiceQueryException: An error occurred while processing this request. Request version ’1.0′ is too low for the response. The lowest supported version is ’2.0′. However , if you got the error like this: Could not load type ‘System.Data.Services.Providers.IDataServiceUpdateProvider’ from assembly ‘System.Data.Services, Version=3.5.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=b77a5c561934e089′,then you need to install ADO.NET Data Services Update for .NET Framework 3.5 SP1 ,you can download here (for windowns 7 and server 2008 r2 ) or here (for windows vista of server 2008).

Yes, I have found a good amount of game engine tutorials...except filled with errors, out of date syntax, missing crucial information, and so on. Is there anywhere with a recent tutorial, or a book, anything at all? I'm not asking for an opinion in graphics API's, just a point in the right direction to get started on game engine development. • Native mobile app development - how do I structure my user stories?

  I'm about to start on a project which will involve developing prototype native mobile apps (iOS and Android initially) as well as a web-based admin interface and an API for these apps to communicate with. We've got a list of stories already drafted up, however a lot of them are in the format: As a mobile user I want to be able to view a login screen so that I can sign into the app If this were targeted for a single platform, I wouldn't see a problem. However, since we're targeting multiple platforms, I'm not sure whether these should now be duplicated eg "As an Android user" or similar. This seems like duplication, but it's work that will need to be completed separately for each platform. This is the first mobile project we've gone native on - previously it was Phonegap and we lumped all stories in under "As a mobile user". Since essentially this was a web-based app wrapped in native code, this didn't present too much of an issue, but I'm conscious that wholly-native apps are a different ballgame!

• Tell the CDI 2 Expert Group What You Think!

  Since it's introduction in Java EE 6, CDI has become a key API for the platform. CDI 1.1 was a relatively minor release included in Java EE 7 as was CDI 1.2 (to be included in GlassFish 4.0.1). We have much higher expectations from CDI 2 (projected to be included in Java EE 8) under the new leadership of Antoine Sabot-Durand. Much like we conducted the Java EE 8 survey to solidify future direction for the platform, CDI 2 is now undergoing the same effort. Towards this goal the CDI 2 leadership is now soliciting feedback on some very specific items via an open survey. Topics include the likes of Java SE bootstrap, asynchronous processing, modularity, EJB-style @Startup and @Asynchronous in CDI, configuration and CDI Lite. You can of course also provide free-form input on anything that's not on the survey. Take the survey now on the CDI specification site and help shape the future of CDI 2 and Java EE 8!

• How can I perform a masked erase in SDL2?

  I'm trying to implement some shadow/lighting effects in my 2D-project, and I've concluded that if there is an easy way to perform a masked erase on an SDL_Texture, it would make the drawing operations quite cheap. Let's say I have a texture of the part of the level where light is not meant to be rendered. I also have a texture with my "light map"; I want to use this to just draw omni lights from my light sources. Then I want to use the first image to 'subtract' the portions of the light map that are not to be rendered on the final scene. Then I draw my "light map" texture on top of my scene, with additive blending enabled. This sounds like a good theory in my head, but I can't see any functions in the SDL2 API that let me do masked erase from a texture. Am I overlooking something? Does anything like this exist?

• How to build list of items available in World of Warcraft?

  There are a number of non-Blizzard sites that show a complete list of available items in World of Warcraft (such as wowhead, etc). I would like to know the best (easiest) way to compile a similar list. I believe some sites are based on user-entered input, which I would like to avoid. Looking at the lua API, it seems that there are functions to get a list of items, but it's not clear if I can just download everything (I remember a reference to throttling somewhere, can't find it now). Does anyone have code samples that would do this, or links to source? Also, Eve Online has made a database of items available (and I do mean SQL database file for download, not the Armory) - is there anything similar for Wow? I'm just looking for the names and stats, not the graphic icons.

• Should I fork for a major re-write that uses a small amount of the original code?

  I'm writing a library. It's a completely rewritten version of another one, to suit my needs (PCL compatibility, mainly). However, the API will be completely rewritten, as I'll need to change a lot of stuff around for PCL compliance. Also, as it is a rewrite, I won't be able to just start from the library and just change it bit by bit, as I typically see with forks. I tried that, but it just didn't work. So what should I do? Should I fork here or should I make a new library?

• Can emsripten compile down to Canvas-based Js instead of WebGL?

  I understand that emscripten compiles down LLVM to JS and it converts OpenGL Calls to WebGL. Thats a fairly simple translation. Is there a way to tell emscripten to use some other graphics Library ( for example Pixi JS ) for its rendering code translations? Is the compiled JS code easy to update or would it be better to merge in your own Graphics API that handles WebGL/Canvas calls. IE: can we use a C++ Graphics Wrapper Library that when compiles to JS, will simply plug into our own JS Graphics Wrapper Library? Im assuming YES, but has anyone tried this? And if So, what would be your technique, as my C++ skills are basic.
