• jquery datatables add checkbox with ajax server side response

  I am using C# ASP .NET MVC and ajax calls. I am able to get the display of the table along with all features. But, I don't understand how do I add a checkbox and button. I have tried dom-checkbox as well but can't get it to work. Any help is appreciated.   I have several User Controls in a project, and one of them retrieves items from an XML, creates objects of the type "ClassItem" and should notify the other UserControl information about those items. I have created a class for my object (the "model" all items will have): public class ClassItem { public int Id { get; set; } public string Type { get; set; } } I have another class that is used to notify the other User Controls when an object of the type "ClassItem" is created: public class Class2: INotifyPropertyChanged { // Properties public ObservableCollection<ClassItem> ItemsCollection { get; internal set; } // Events public event PropertyChangedEventHandler PropertyChanged; // Methods public void ShowItems() { ItemsCollection = new ObservableCollection<ClassItem>(); if (PropertyChanged != null) { PropertyChanged(this, new PropertyChangedEventArgs("ItemsCollection")); } } } The data comes from an XML file that is parsed in order to create the objects of type ClassItem: void DisplayItems(string xmlContent) { XDocument xmlItems = XDocument.Parse(xmlContent); var items = from item in xmlItems.Descendants("item") select new ClassItem{ Id = (int)item.Element("id"), Type = (string)item.Element("type) }; } If I'm not mistaken, this is supposed to parse the xml and create a ClassItem object for each item it finds in the XML. Hence, each time a new ClassItem object is created, this should fire the Notifications for all the UserControls that are "bind" to the "ItemsCollection" notifications defined in Class2. Yet the code in Class2 doesn't even seem to be run :-( and there are no notifications of course... Am I mistaken in any of the assumptions I've done, or am I missing something?   I am a bit perplexed on how to catch a specific error type of Microsoft.SharePoint.SoapServer.SoapServerException, I'll explain why, and I've included a code sample below for you guys to see. As you know there are 2 ways to interact with MOSS. The object model (only runs on MOSS Server) Web Services (can be run on a remote machine querying the MOSS server) So as per code sample I'm using web services to query MOSS, because of this I don't have sharepoint installed on the remote server running these web services and without MOSS installed its impossible to reference the SharePoint DLL to get the specific error type : Microsoft.SharePoint.SoapServer.SoapServerException. If I can't reference the DLL then how the heck am I supposed to catch this specific error type?   Hello I'm trying to create what I think should be a relatively simple business rule to operate over repeating elements in an XML schema. Consider the following XML snippet (this is simplified with namespaces removed, for readability): <Root> <AllAccounts> <Account id="1" currentPayment="10.00" arrearsAmount="25.00"> <AllCustomers> <Customer id="20" primary="true" canSelfServe="false" /> <Customer id="21" primary="false" canSelfServe="false" /> </AllCustomers> </Account> <Account id="2" currentPayment="10.00" arrearsAmount="15.00"> <AllCustomers> <Customer id="30" primary="true" canSelfServe="false" /> <Customer id="31" primary="false" canSelfServe="false" /> </AllCustomers> </AllAccounts> </Root> What I want to do is to have two rules: Set /Root/AllAccounts/Account[x]/AllCustomers/Customer[primary='true']/canSelfServe = true IF arrearsAmount < currentPayment Set /Root/AllAccounts/Account[x]/AllCustoemrs/Customer[primary='true']/canSelfServer = false IF arrearsAmount = currentPayment Where [x] is 0...number of /Root/AllAccounts/Account records present in the XML. I've tried two simple rules for this, and each rule seems to fire x * x times, where x is the number of Account records in the XML. I only want each rule to fire once for each Account record. • jQuery Thickbox and Google Maps Extinfowindow

  I am trying to place a link into an Extinfowindow that obtains its content through an Ajax call. So, I click on a push pin marker, up pops the Extinfowindow with my ThickBox link in it, and when I inspect the DOM for the entire page at that point, I can see the element correctly showing up with the "thickbox" class. The link looks like this <A class="thickbox" title="" href="http://localhost:1293/Popup.aspx? height=200&width=300&modal=true">Modal Popup</A> However, when I click on it, it does a full refresh and the target page loads in the browser, not in a popup. It seems that when the <A> for the Thickbox control is injected into the DOM after the initial load, jQuery is no longer able to do its magic and intercept the anchor link request. Does anybody have thoughts about how to do this better?

• Amazon Web services - retrieving a wishlist

  I've been tinkering with Yahoo Pipes and the Amazon E-Commerce Service (ECS) SDK to retrieve my wishlist. The problem is that although I can get all the items on my wishlist just fine, it seems to include items that I've deleted too. Has anyone else used this API and noticed this? Is there a way around it? UPDATE: Requested additional information in comments...   Hi there, I am using checkstyle plugin in maven 2. I now want to switch my config file, from the default one to a) an online file, or b) a local file. I tried the following two things, which both didnt work. Any suggestions? • empty response body in ajax (or 206 Partial Content)

  Hi guys, I'm feeling completely stupid because I've spent two hours solving task which should be very simple and which I solved many times before. But now I'm not even sure in which direction to dig. I fail to fetch static content using ajax from local servers (Apache and Mongrel). I get responses 200 and 206 (depending on the server), empty response text (although Content-Length header is always correct), firebug shows request in red. Javascript is very generic, I'm getting same results even here: http://www.w3schools.com/ajax/tryit.asp?filename=tryajax_first (just change document location to 'http://localhost:3000/whatever') So, it's probably not the cause. • Firefox extension that overlays persistent iFrame?

  Is it possible to build a Firefox extension that displays a floating, persistent iFrame over the page content? I know it's possible to add iFrames using XUL. For instance, you can add an iFrame to a persistent sidebar. However, I want the iFrame to float over the page content, not cause the content to shrink. So far, my only option is to add the iFrame to the DOM, then use CSS "fixed" positioning to float the iFrame. The iFrame must also persist across page loads, exactly as the sidebar does. Adding an iFrame to the DOM, unfortunately, causes the iFrame to vanish when the browser renders a new page (e.g., after clicking a link). Any clues? Thanks!

  I am building a web application crawler that's meant not only to find all the links or pages in a web application, but also perform all the allowed actions in the app (such as pushing buttons, filling forms, notice changes in the DOM even if they did not trigger a request etc.) Basically, this is a kind of "browser simulator". I find WebKit a good option to implement my crawler, since it has all the needed technology (Javascript engine, parsers, DOM manipulation, etc.) but it seems kind of an overkill being a fully featured browser. Is there any toolkit you know that can provide the above functionality?

  I have a chart for which the data is provided asynchronously via a CallResponder (used with a RemoteObject). However, it does not seem possible to update the chart with the data after it has been initially drawn. I have tried: Firing a collection modified event after assigning it to chart.dataProvider calling invalidateDisplayList (tried with all components) binding the chart data provider to a variable, and doing the above. changing the view state on the last line of resultHandler. None of them worked. When I fetch the data and cache it locally, then use it to call init synchronously, the chart displays correctly. What am I missing here?

  I'm attempting to add some text to the directions results the Google Maps API returns to the specified div (directionsPanel). This code below would work fine, except that the jQuery line fires before loadFromWaypoints has finished modifying the DOM.   I have a SWF movie inside of a jQuery UI tab, and the problem I'm having is that the SWF gets reloaded everytime I click away from the tab, onto another tab, and then click back. I can inspect the DOM and see that the div containing the SWF is still in the DOM when I click away, so I don't know why this it seems to reload it when I click back to the tab. I added the following CSS rules to try to prevent the display being set to: none, but the Flash movie is still reloading: .ui-tabs .ui-tabs-hide { display: block !important; position: absolute; left: -10000px; }

• How to debug jQuery ajax POST to .NET webservice

  Hey all. I have a web service that I have published locally. I wrote an HTML page to test the web service. The webservice is expecting a string that will be XML. When I debug the web service from within VS everything works great. I can use FireBug and see that my web service is indeed being hit by they AJAX call. After deploying the web service locally to IIS it does not appear to be working. I need to know the best way to trouble shoot this problem. My AJAX js looks like this: function postSummaryXml(data) { $.ajax({ type: 'POST', url: 'http://localhost/collection/services/datacollector.asmx/SaveSummaryDisplayData', data: { xml: data }, error: function(result) { alert(result); }, success: function(result) { alert(result); } }); The web method looks like so: [WebMethod] public string SaveSummaryDisplayData(string xml) { XmlDocument xmlDocument = new XmlDocument(); xmlDocument.LoadXml(xml); XmlParser parser = new XmlParser(xmlDocument); IModel repository = new Repository(); if(repository.AddRecord("TestData",parser.TestValues)) { return "true"; } return "false"; } } I added the return string to the web method in an attempt to ensure that the web-service is really hit from the ajax. The problem is this: In FF the 'Success' function is always called yet the result is always 'NULL'. And the web method does not appear to have worked (no data saved). In IE the 'Error' function is called and the response is server error: 500. I think (believe it or not) IE is giving me a more accurate indication that something is wrong but I cannnot determine what the issue is. Can someone please suggest how I should expose the specific server error message? Thanks for the help!

  I have a very simple camel route. It starts with a CXF Endpoint exposed as a web service. I then want to convert it to xml and call a method on a bean. Currently i'm getting a CXF specific object after the web service call. How do I take my serialized object out of the CXF MessageList and use it going forward? • XMLBeans - xsi:type stripped using Axis2 and Tomcat?

  I’m new to XMLBeans and have been trying to use it to create an XML document as part of an axis2 web service. When I run my code as a standard Java application or as a standard servlet, the XML is correctly generated: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?> <c:BroadsoftDocument protocol="OCI" xmlns:c="C"> <sessionId>000000001</sessionId> <command xsi:type="AuthenticationRequest" xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance"> <userId>admin</userId></command> </c:BroadsoftDocument> However, when the exact same code is run under Axis2 & Tomcat in a servlet I get: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?> <c:BroadsoftDocument protocol="OCI" xmlns:c="C"> <sessionId>000000001</sessionId> <command> <userId>admin</userId></command> </c:BroadsoftDocument> This of course isn’t valid – the xsi:type of the “command” element is stripped when the code is run under Tomcat. Does anyone have any suggestions of what I could be doing wrong that would cause this type of issue only when running under Axis2? At first I thought it was a Tomcat issue, but after creating a generic servlet and running the exact same code I don't have any issues. I've tried playing with the XMLOptions for XMLBeans, but couldn't seem to resolve the problem. The options I'm currently using are: xmlOptions = new XmlOptions(); xmlOptions.setCharacterEncoding("UTF-8"); xmlOptions.setUseDefaultNamespace(); xmlOptions.setSaveAggressiveNamespaces(); xmlOptions.setSavePrettyPrint();
