How can i Automatically run the DB server when a user run the application.? for example, after i finish development i will put the application into an exe file.     Hello, How can I write DAO method which will return as a result only first entry from the database. For instance lets say I'm looking at Users table and I want to retrieve only the first entry, I'd declare method like: public User getFirstUser(){ //method logic } EDIT: User has primary key id if that matters at all.     It is often said that using LDAP is a good way to store data about users. That's beacause users' "directory" is hierarchical and it changes rarely. But in my opinion that doesn't exclude using RDBMS. What might be reasons to use LDAP? I guess that storing multi-valued fields or adding custom fields in LDAP might be easier but it can be done in database too (unless you have many records)

    I'm using Hibernate3.2+Websphere6.0+struts1.3.. After deploying ,application works fine. After some idle time ,i will get this type of error repeatedly,am not able to login at all. Im not using any connection pooling. i feel after idle time its not able to connect to the database again..if i restart the server everything works fine for some time...after that same story.. please help me out

However my OS file system has a limit on the number of sub directories, meaning storing the original folder structure is not going to work. Suggestions? Map the URL to some filename so can store flatly? Or just shove it in a database like sqlite to avoid file system limitations?

    Hi, I have a django script which loads data, the beginning of the script deletes all datas in database. So when I execute 1st time this script, the auto increment primary keys begin to 1 to 15 (if 15 objects) and if I want to reload data, I reexecute the script. My issue is when I execute it again, pks numbers begin to 16 (for 2nd launch), I would like each time auto_increment begins to 1, is it possible whitout regenerating tables structure each time ?
