  • Clean Stack Traces in Groovy using Eclipse?

    - by yar
    I am using Groovy in a Java Swing application as part of my plan to force-feed myself dynamic languages until I like them (which is happening, partly). My stack traces are filled with Groovy stuff like org.codehaus.groovy.runtime.callsite.ConstructorSite$ConstructorSiteNoUnwrapNoCoerce.callConstructor is there a way to get Eclipse to remove all of that codehaus stuff (filter stack traces, basically)? Edit: I can do this from the command-line with grep (well, not yet) so it's not so bad, but inside of Eclipse would be great too.

  • java.lang.NullPointerException exception in my controller file (using Spring Hibernate Maven)

    - by mrjayviper
    The problem doesn't seemed to have anything to do with Hibernate. As I've commented the Hibernate stuff but I'm still getting it. If I comment out this line message = staffDAO.searchForStaff(search); in my controller file, it goes through ok. But I don't see anything wrong with searchForStaff function. It's a very simple function that just returns the string "test" and run system.out.println("test"). Can you please help? thanks But this is the error that I'm getting: SEVERE: Servlet.service() for servlet [spring] in context with path [/directorymaven] threw exception [Request processing failed; • Python - from file to data structure?

    - by Seafoid
    Hi, I have large file comprising ~100,000 lines. Each line corresponds to a cluster and each entry within each line is a reference i.d. for another file (protein structure in this case), e.g. 1hgn 1dju 3nmj 8kfn 9opu 7gfb 4bui I need to read in the file as a list of lists where each line is a sublist, thus preserving the integrity of the cluster, e.g. nested_list = [['1hgn', '1dju', '3nmj', '8kfn'], ['9opu', '7gfb'], ['4bui']] My current code creates a nested list but the entries within each list are a single string and not comma separated. Therefore, I cannot splice the list with indices so easily. Any help greatly appreciated. Thanks, S :-)

  • Help me build a CouchDB mapreduce

    - by mit
    There are CouchDB documents that are list elements: { "type" : "el", "id" : "1", "content" : "first" } { "type" : "el", "id" : "2", "content" : "second" } { "type" : "el", "id" : "3", "content" : "third" } There is one document that defines the list: { "type" : "list", "elements" : ["2","1"] , "id" : "abc123" } As you can see the third element was deleted, it is no longer part of the list. So it must not be part of the result. Now I want a view that returns the content elements including the right order. The result could be: { "content" : ["second", "first"] } In this case the order of the elements is already as it should be. Another possible result: { "content" : [{"content" : "first", "order" : 2},{"content" : "second", "order" : 1}] } I started writing the map function: map = function (doc) { if (doc.type === 'el') { emit(doc.id, {"content" : doc.content}); //emit the id and the content exit; } if (doc.type === 'list') { for ( var i=0, l=doc.elements.length; i<l; ++i ){ emit(doc.elements[i], { "order" : i }); //emit the id and the order } } } This is as far as I can get. Can you correct my mistakes and write a reduce function? Remember that the third document must not be part of the result.

  • Query about running a program through valgrind and getting false results comparing to other systems.

    - by FILIaS
    Yesterday i posted this: What's the problem with this code? [hashtable in C] and paxdiablo offered to help me. He posted a sample of code and asked me to run it through valgrind on my machine. This code normally generates: 12,4 But on my machine, i get 24,8. The doubled! I'm just curious why is that happening. Hope sb has a good explaination. I post also paxdiablo's code (for anyone who cant find it.) #include <stdio.h> #include <stdlib.h> typedef struct HashTable { int size ; struct List *head; struct List *tail; } HashTable; typedef struct List { char *number; char *name; int time; struct List *next; } List; #define size_of_table 211 HashTable *createHashTable(void) { HashTable *new_table = malloc(sizeof(*new_table)*size_of_table); //line 606 printf ("%d\n", sizeof(*new_table)); printf ("%d\n", sizeof(new_table)); if (new_table == NULL) { return NULL; } int i=0; for(i; i<size_of_table; i++) { new_table[i].size=0; new_table[i].head=NULL; new_table[i].tail=NULL; } return new_table; } int main(void) { HashTable *x = createHashTable(); free (x); return 0; }

  • Type errors when using same name

    - by lykimq
    I have 3 files: 1) cpf0.ml type string = char list type url = string type var = string type name = string type symbol = | Symbol_name of name 2) problem.ml: type symbol = | Ident of string 3) test.ml open Problem;; open Cpf0;; let symbol b = function | Symbol_name n -> Ident n When I combine test.ml: ocamlc -c test.ml. I received an error: This expression has type Cpf0.name = char list but an expression was expected of type string Could you please help me to correct it? Thank you very much EDIT: Thank you for your answer. I want to explain more about these 3 files: Because I am working with extraction in Coq to Ocaml type: cpf0.ml is generated from cpf.v : Require Import String. Definition string := string. Definition name := string. Inductive symbol := | Symbol_name : name -> symbol. The code extraction.v: Set Extraction Optimize. Extraction Language Ocaml. Require ExtrOcamlBasic ExtrOcamlString. Extraction Blacklist cpf list. where ExtrOcamlString I opened: open Cpf0;; in problem.ml, and I got a new problem because in problem.ml they have another definition for type string This expression has type Cpf0.string = char list but an expression was expected of type Util.StrSet.elt = string Here is a definition in util.ml defined type string: module Str = struct type t = string end;; module StrOrd = Ord.Make (Str);; module StrSet = Set.Make (StrOrd);; module StrMap = Map.Make (StrOrd);; let set_add_chk x s = if StrSet.mem x s then failwith (x ^ " already declared") else StrSet.add x s;; I was trying to change t = string to t = char list, but if I do that I have to change a lot of function it depend on (for example: set_add_chk above). Could you please give me a good idea? how I would do in this case.

  • Making GridView Respond to 2 Drop Down Lists

    - by raziiq
    Hi there. I have got 2 Drop Down Lists on my Form and 1 GridView. I want GridView to display the data according to selection from the Drop Down Lists. For Example, One Drop Down List contains Names and other contains Dates. Both the Drop Down Lists can post back. So if i select a name from 1st Drop Down list, the Grid View should show all the results according to that Name. Similarly if i select the Date from the other Drop Down List , the Grid View should show the results according to the dates. But i cant figure out as how to bind Grid View to respond to 2 Drop Down List. BTW i am binding both the Drop Down Lists and the Grid View to the DataSource Objects, which is getting data from the database. Any Suggestions??

  • XSL template structure for choosing latest event.

    - by Deborah Klenke
    I have a list grouped by Region and it currently shows all the items for each city. I want to reduce to only the most recent advisory for each city. I have tried to use an xsl:for-each statement but I am messing up the names/parameters. List is called mlc The list contains the fields: Title City Region Advisory DateCreated TT (calculated number field to find the number of minutes from the DateCreated to end of today which I intended to use the smallest to find the most recent) I have the list grouped by Region and it currently shows all the items for each city. I want to reduce to only the most recent advisory for each city.

  • ANSI C as core of a C# project? Is this possible?

    - by Nektarios
    I'm writing a NON-GUI app which I want to be cross platform between OS X and Windows. I'm looking at the following architecture, but I don't know if it will work on the windows side: (Platform specific entry point) - ANSI C main loop = ANSI C model code doing data processing / logic = (Platform specific helpers) So the core stuff I'm planning to write in regular ANSI C, because A) it should be platform independent, B) I'm extremely comfortable with C, C) It can do the job and do it well (Platform specific entry point) can be written in whatever necessary to get the job done, this is a small amount of code, doesn't matter to me. (Platform specific helpers) is the sticky thing. This is stuff like parsing XML, accessing databases, graphics toolkit stuff, whatever. Things that aren't easy in C. Things that modern languages/frameworks will give for free. On OS X this code will be written in Objective-C interfacing with Cocoa. On Windows I'm thinking my best bet is to use C# So on Windows my architecture (simplified) looks like (C# or C?) - ANSI C - C# Is this possible? Some thoughts/suggestions so far.. 1) Compile my C core as a .dll -- this is fine, but seems there's no way to call my C# helpers unless I can somehow get function pointers and pass them to my core, but that seems unlikely 2) Compile a C .exe and a C# .exe and have them talk via shared memory or some kind of IPC. I'm not entirely opposed to this but it obviously introduces a lot of complexity so it doesn't seem ideal 3) Instead of C# use C++, it gets me some nice data management stuff and nice helper code. And I can mix it pretty easily. And the work I do could probably easily port to Linux. But I really don't like C++, and I don't want this to turn in to a 3rd-party-library-fest. Not that it's a huge deal, but it's 2010.. anything for basic data management should be built in. And targetting Linux is really not a priority. Note that no "total" alternatives are OK as suggested in other similar questions on SO I've seen; java, RealBasic, mono.. this is an extremely performance intensive application doing soft realtime for game/simulation purposes, I need C & friends here to do it right (maybe you don't, but I do)

So I just want to know how to initialize it in main activity so that I can use that string bssid anywhere.

  • Nice way to break a reply up into pieces in ruby

    - by ChaosR
    Hello, I'm writing an IRCd. For this topic it doesn't really matter if you know much about IRC. Its a simple code style problem. Quick overview of the problem: No message may be longer than 512 characters If the message is more, it must be broken into pieces The NAMES reply sends all the nicknames of users on a channel, and quickly grows beyond 512 characters. I currently concocted this marvelous piece of code, it works perfectly. However, its just not "ruby-like". This piece of code is more what you expect in some piece of C code. # 11 is the number of all fixed characters combined in the reply pre_length = 11 + servername.length + mynick.length + channel.name.length list = [""] i = 0 channel.nicks.each do |nick, client| list[i+=1] = "" if list[i].length + nick.length + pre_length > 500 list[i] << "#{channel.mode_char(client)}#{client.nick} " end list.each { |l| send_numeric(RPL_NAMREPLY, channel.name, l.strip) } send_numeric(RPL_ENDOFNAMES, channel.name) So my question is, any ideas to do this more nicely? PS. code has been slightly modified to make it easier to understand out-of-context

However, when the app runs, only one list view is displayed, the other page is just blank public class VpiAbsTestActivity extends SherlockFragmentActivity { private static final String[] CONTENT = new String[] { "1","2"}; TestFragmentAdapter mAdapter; ViewPager mPager; PageIndicator mIndicator; protected void onCreate(Bundle savedInstanceState) { setRequestedOrientation(ActivityInfo.SCREEN_ORIENTATION_PORTRAIT); super.onCreate(savedInstanceState); setContentView(R.layout.simple_tabs); mAdapter = new TestFragmentAdapter(getSupportFragmentManager()); mPager = (ViewPager)findViewById(R.id.pager); mPager.setAdapter(mAdapter); mIndicator = (TabPageIndicator)findViewById(R.id.indicator); mIndicator.setViewPager(mPager); mIndicator.notifyDataSetChanged(); } class TestFragmentAdapter extends FragmentPagerAdapter { private int mCount = CONTENT.length; public TestFragmentAdapter(FragmentManager fm) { super(fm); } @Override public Fragment getItem(int position) { switch(position) { case 0: return new customlist(); case 1: return new customlistnotuser(); default: return null; } } @Override public int getCount() { return mCount; } public CharSequence getPageTitle(int position) { return VpiAbsTestActivity.CONTENT[position % VpiAbsTestActivity.CONTENT.length].toUpperCase(); } @Override public void destroyItem(View collection, int position, Object view) { ((ViewPager) collection).removeView((View) view); } } } what can i update viewpager when change pages ? the customlistnotuser page likes customlist page but not show public class customlistnotuser extends SherlockFragment { // All static variables static final String URL = "url"; // XML node keys static final String KEY_TEST = "test"; // parent node static final String KEY_ID = "id"; static final String KEY_TITLE = "title"; static final String KEY_Description = "description"; static final String KEY_DURATION = "duration"; static final String KEY_THUMB_URL = "thumb_url"; static final String KEY_PRICE = "price"; static final String KEY_URL = "url"; private ProgressDialog pDialog; ListView list; LazyAdapterbeth adapter; XMLParser parser = new XMLParser(); public void onActivityCreated(Bundle savedInstanceState) { super.onActivityCreated(savedInstanceState); } public void onCreate(Bundle savedInstanceState) { super.onCreate(savedInstanceState); new getFeed().execute(); } public View onCreateView(LayoutInflater inflater, ViewGroup container, Bundle savedInstanceState) { View thisfragment = inflater.inflate(R.layout.dovomi, container, false); return thisfragment; } private class getFeed extends AsyncTask<Void, Void, Document> { } protected Document doInBackground(Void... params) { XMLParser parser = new XMLParser(); String xml = parser.getXmlFromUrl(URL); // getting XML from URL Document doc = parser.getDomElement(xml); // getting DOM element return doc; } protected void onPostExecute(Document doc) { ArrayList<HashMap<String, String>> songsList = new ArrayList<HashMap<String, String>>(); NodeList nl = doc.getElementsByTagName(KEY_TEST); // looping through all song nodes <song> for (int i = 0; i < nl.getLength(); i++) { // creating new HashMap HashMap<String, String> map = new HashMap<String, String>(); Element e = (Element) nl.item(i); // adding each child node to HashMap key => value map.put(KEY_ID, parser.getValue(e, KEY_ID)); map.put(KEY_TITLE, parser.getValue(e, KEY_TITLE)); map.put(KEY_Description, parser.getValue(e, KEY_Description)); map.put(KEY_DURATION, parser.getValue(e, KEY_DURATION)); map.put(KEY_THUMB_URL, parser.getValue(e, KEY_THUMB_URL)); map.put(KEY_PRICE, parser.getValue(e, KEY_PRICE)); map.put(KEY_URL, parser.getValue(e, KEY_URL)); // adding HashList to ArrayList songsList.add(map); pDialog.dismiss(); } list=(ListView)getActivity().findViewById(R.id.list); // Getting adapter by passing xml data ArrayList adapter=new LazyAdapterbeth(getActivity(), songsList); list.setAdapter(adapter); // Click event for single list row list.setOnItemClickListener(new OnItemClickListener() {

  • Python - Flatten a dict of lists into unique values?

    - by Jonathan Vanasco
    I have a dict of lists in python: content = {88962: [80, 130], 87484: [64], 53662: [58,80]} I want to turn it into a list of the unique values [58,64,80,130] I wrote a manual solution, but it's a manual solution. I know there are more concise and more elegant way to do this with list comprehensions, map/reduce , itertools , etc. anyone have a clue ? content = {88962: [80, 130], 87484: [64], 53662: [58,80]} result = set({}) for k in content.keys() : for i in content[k]: result.add(i) # and list/sort/print just to compare the output r2 = list( result ) r2.sort() print r2

  • back button android

    - by Raogrimm
    i am having trouble implementing the back button properly. all of the code snippets i have seen have not worked for me. what i am trying to do when i press the back button is just go back to the previous list. pretty much i have a list within a list and i just want it to go back to the previous list. how would i go about doing this? this is the list i have, every item has a separate list that it has. lets say you click on weapons, you then get a list of different weapon types and so on final String[] weapons = getResources().getStringArray(R.array.weapons); setListAdapter(new ArrayAdapter<String>(ffxidirectory.this, R.layout.list_item, weapons)); lv.setOnItemClickListener(new OnItemClickListener() { public void onItemClick(AdapterView<?> parent, View view, int position, long id) { System.out.println("item clicked: "+weapons[position]); switch(position) { case 0: final String[] axes = getResources().getStringArray(R.array.axes); setListAdapter(new ArrayAdapter<String>(ffxidirectory.this, R.layout.list_item, axes)); break; case 1: final String[] clubs = getResources().getStringArray(R.array.clubs); setListAdapter(new ArrayAdapter<String>(ffxidirectory.this, R.layout.list_item, clubs)); break; case 2: final String[] daggers = getResources().getStringArray(R.array.daggers); setListAdapter(new ArrayAdapter<String>(ffxidirectory.this, R.layout.list_item, daggers)); break; case 3: final String[] great_axes = getResources().getStringArray(R.array.great_axes); setListAdapter(new ArrayAdapter<String>(ffxidirectory.this, R.layout.list_item, great_axes)); break; case 4: final String[] great_katana = getResources().getStringArray(R.array.great_katana); setListAdapter(new ArrayAdapter<String>(ffxidirectory.this, R.layout.list_item, great_katana)); break; case 5: final String[] great_swords = getResources().getStringArray(R.array.great_swords); setListAdapter(new ArrayAdapter<String>(ffxidirectory.this, R.layout.list_item, great_swords)); break; case 6: final String[] hand_to_hand = getResources().getStringArray(R.array.hand_to_hand); setListAdapter(new ArrayAdapter<String>(ffxidirectory.this, R.layout.list_item, hand_to_hand)); break; case 7: final String[] katana = getResources().getStringArray(R.array.katana); setListAdapter(new ArrayAdapter<String>(ffxidirectory.this, R.layout.list_item, katana)); break; case 8: final String[] polearms = getResources().getStringArray(R.array.polearms); setListAdapter(new ArrayAdapter<String>(ffxidirectory.this, R.layout.list_item, polearms)); break; case 9: final String[] scythes = getResources().getStringArray(R.array.scythes); setListAdapter(new ArrayAdapter<String>(ffxidirectory.this, R.layout.list_item, scythes)); break; case 10: final String[] staves = getResources().getStringArray(R.array.staves); setListAdapter(new ArrayAdapter<String>(ffxidirectory.this, R.layout.list_item, staves)); break; case 11: final String[] swords = getResources().getStringArray(R.array.swords); setListAdapter(new ArrayAdapter<String>(ffxidirectory.this, R.layout.list_item, swords)); break; } } });

  • C# - How to implement multiple comparers for an IComparable<T> class?

    - by Gary Willoughby
    I have a class that implements IComparable. public class MyClass : IComparable<MyClass> { public int CompareTo(MyClass c) { return this.whatever.CompareTo(c.whatever); } etc.. } I then can call the sort method of a generic list of my class List<MyClass> c = new List<MyClass>(); //Add stuff, etc. c.Sort(); and have the list sorted according to my comparer. How do i specify further comparers to sort my collection different ways according to the other properties of MyClass in order to let users sort my collection in a number of different ways?

  • one-to-many with criteria question

    - by brnzn
    enter code hereI want to apply restrictions on the list of items, so only items from a given dates will be retrieved. Here are my mappings: <class name="MyClass" table="MyTable" mutable="false" > <cache usage="read-only"/> <id name="myId" column="myId" type="integer"/> <property name="myProp" type="string" column="prop"/> <list name="items" inverse="true" cascade="none"> <key column="myId"/> <list-index column="itemVersion"/> <one-to-many class="Item"/> </list> </class> <class name="Item" table="Items" mutable="false" > <cache usage="read-only"/> <id name="myId" column="myId" type="integer"/> <property name="itemVersion" type="string" column="version"/> <property name="startDate" type="date" column="startDate"/> </class> I tried this code: Criteria crit = session.createCriteria(MyClass.class); crit.add( Restrictions.eq("myId", new Integer(1))); crit = crit.createCriteria("items").add( Restrictions.le("startDate", new Date()) ); which result the following quires: select ... from MyTable this_ inner join Items items1_ on this_.myId=items1_.myId where this_.myId=? and items1_.startDate<=? followed by select ... from Items items0_ where items0_.myId=? But what I need is something like: select ... from MyTable this_ where this_.myId=? followed by select ... from Items items0_ where items0_.myId=? and items0_.startDate<=? Any idea how I can apply a criteria on the list of items?

  • Copy an array backwards? Array.Copy?

    - by daniel
    I have a List<T> that I want to be able to copy to an array backwards, meaning start from List.Count and copy maybe 5 items starting at the end of the list and working its way backwards. I could do this with a simple reverse for loop; however there is probably a faster/more efficient way of doing this so I thought I should ask. Can I use Array.Copy somehow? Originally I was using a Queue as that pops it off in the correct order I need, but I now need to pop off multiple items at once into an array and I thought a list would be faster.

  • Is it necessary to var scope loop variables in CFScript?

    - by Mel
    When using CFML and CF9 I usually var scope my loop variables; in this case local.i, for example: <cfloop list="#this.list#" index="local.i"> <cfif Len(local.i) GT 10> // do something </cfif> </cfloop> I recently started converting some stuff into CFScript, and (to my disappointment I found out that there is no way to loop over a list in CFScript) I'm wondering if I should still var scope my loop variables, and how: for (i = 1; LTE ListLen(this.list); i = i + 1 ) { if (Len(ListGetAt(this.list, i) GT 10)) { // do something } } Should I be doing local.i = 1 and local.i = local.i + 1 istead of the sample code in my example? Is it necessary? EDIT: I should also ask if the CFScript form of my CFML loop is correct; I ask because I just noticed that my CFML loop uses a , (comma and space) for the delimiter argument, which seems non-existence in the CFScript version of the loop.

  • create menus in command line

    - by Miles Rout
    How can one create menus in the command line program? I've tried stuff like: cin input; switch (input) { case (1): // do stuff case (2): // ... } but then I've had the problem of sub-menus, and going back to the same menu, etc. The first program I wrote (apart from exercises) that tried to use the switch idea for the menus had goto statements because the alternative was heaps of (at the time) complicated loops.
