  • Div horizontal aligning, one fixed, one adaptive

    Hello everyone. I would like to create a vertical splitted site structure using two divs: My intention is to have d2 next to d1 in a horizontal align structure (same line). What i get is not this. In fact using that code, d2 does not take the remaining space, but collapses to the min width. if I use WRONG because d2 goes down and takes all the space (but both divs are in different lines). HOW TO REACH MY OBJECTIVE? Is there a design pattern for this problem???? Thanks.

    Hi, I have a website using a huge background image (2000x1500) in a div container (100% x 100%). When I open that site on Safari on an iPad it gets scaled down (~40%) in a different proportion than the content (~80%). I moved the background to an img-tag in a div with 100% width and 100% height and an overflow setting "hidden". Exactly the same happens. Is there a CSS Setting that can help Safari to scale down background images in the same proportion as the content?

    Hi - I'm trying to isolate duplicates in a 500MB database and have tried two ways to do it. One creating a new table and grouping: CREATE TABLE test_table as SELECT * FROM items WHERE 1 GROUP BY title; But it's been running for an hour and in MySQL Admin it says the status is Locked. The other way I tried was to delete duplicates with this: DELETE bad_rows.* from items as bad_rows inner join ( select post_title, MIN(id) as min_id from items group by title having count(*) 1 ) as good_rows on good_rows.post_title = bad_rows.post_title; ..and this has been running for 24hours now, Admin telling me it's Sending data... Do you think either or these queries are actually still running? How can I find out if it's hung? (with Apple OS X 10.5.7)

    My form has a group box which contains two overlapping rectangles. The form's other controls are two sets of four numeric up down controls to set the rectangles' colors. (nudF1,2,3 and 4 set the rectangle that's in front, and nudB1,2,3 and 4 set the rectangle that's behind.) Everything works fine, except that the rectangles do not display the colors set in the numeric up downs when the form first loads. The numeric up down controls' ChangeValue events all call the ShowColors() method. The form's Load event calls the csColorsForm_Load() method.     Take for the following for example: <GridSplitter Grid.Row="0" Grid.Column="1" Background="Yellow" HorizontalAlignment="Stretch" VerticalAlignment="Stretch" Width="Auto" Height="Auto" Grid.RowSpan="3" ResizeDirection="Columns etc etc This will create a GridSplitter across the 3 rows that I have in my grid. However, it's conceivable that I might add another row to my grid at a later stage, and I don't really want to go back and have all of my rowspans. My first guess was Grid.RowSpan="*", but that doesn't compile. Does anyone know the answer to this off hand?
