  • GWT: uiBinder-based widget cant be instanced second time

    Hi. I created a widget using GWT uiBinder. It works fine, till the moment when I want to instance it second time. After i call constructor second time it returns only raw description from XML and statements in constructor (rootElement.add( new HTML( "panel1" ), leftId );) are just don't work. It throws no error or warning.   • How do I show a user's credit based on their session

    Hi all - I'm developing a simple LAMP app where users can credit their account using Paypal. I suspect this is a simple issue, but have spent quite a while experimenting to no avail and would appreciate any thoughts: System has a user management system working fine using sessions, but I can't get it to display the current user's credit. But I've been trying things along the lines of: $result = mysql_query(" SELECT * FROM users INNER JOIN account ON account.UserID=account.UserID ORDER BY account.accountID"); while($_SESSION['Username'] = $row['Username'] ) { echo $row['Username']; echo $row['Credit']; } I suspect the while statement is invalid, but I want it to echo username and credit where the current session username = the username stored in the database.     I've found the following example of a wizard located here: http://www.codeproject.com/Articles/31837/Creating-an-Internationalized-Wizard-in-WPF Now I've spent quite some time looking at the example and i understand pretty much everything. But i can't figure out how he passes an object between the different modelViews. And as you can imagine that step is quite crucial.. In the example he uses an CupOfCoffee Object in the main wizardviewmodel and somehow manages to adjust it throughout the wizard. But i cant see anywhere how he does that. I've already tried to recreate a project like he has but no success. Could anyone tell me how he passes the objects between the different viewModels?

  • .NET Reference "Copy Local" True / Fasle Being Set Based on Contents of General Assembly

    Hello All. First question for me here. We had a very interesting problem with a Win Forms project. It's been resolved. We know what happened, but we want to understand why it happened. This may help other people out in the future who have a similar problem. The WinForms project failed on 2 of our client's PCs. The error was an obscure kernel.dll error. The project ran fine on 3 other PCs. We found that a .DLL (log4net.dll - a very popular open-source logging library) was missing from our release folder. It was previously in our release folder. Why was it missing in this latest release? It was missing because I must have installed a program on my Dev box that used log4net.dll and it was added to the general assembly. When I checked the SLN's references for log4net.dll, they were changed to "copy local=FALSE". They must have changed automagicially because log4net.dll was present in my GAC. Here's where my question starts: Why did my reference for log4net.dll get changed from COPY LOCAL = TRUE to COPY LOCAL = FALSE? I suspect it's because it was added to my GAC by another program. How can we prevent this from happening again? As it stands now, if I install a piece of software that uses a common library and it adds it to my GAC, then my SLNs that REF that DLL will change from Copy Local TRUE to FALSE. Thank you so much. I hope this helps people out who have a piece of software that runs in some places, but not in others, when it used to run fine in ALL places.

    If i have a Controller Action that may recieve both HTTP GET and HTTP POST from a number of different sources with each source sending different data e.g. Source1 performs a form POST with two form items Item1 and Item2 Source2 performs a GET where the data is contained in the query string (?ItemX=2&ItemY=3) Is it possible to have a controller action that will cater for all these cases and perform binding automatically e.g. public ActionResult Test(Dictionary data) { // Do work ... return View(); } Is this possible with a custom binder or some other way?     Hello people, I have two models with a HABTM association, let´s say book and author. class Book has_and_belongs_to_many :authors end class Author has_and_belongs_to_many :books end The author has a set of attributes (e.g. first-name,last-name,age) that can all be blank (see validation). validates_length_of :first_name, :maximum => 255, :allow_blank => true, :allow_nil => false In the books_controller, I do the following to append all authors to a book in one step: @book = Book.new(params[:book]) @book.authors.build(params[:book][:authors].values) My question: What would be the easiest way to avoid the saving of authors which fields are all blank to prevent too much "noise" in the database? At the moment, I do the following: validate :must_have_some_data def must_have_some_data empty = true hash = self.attributes hash.delete("created_at") hash.delete("updated_at") hash.each_value do |value| empty = false if value.present? end if (empty) errors.add_to_base("Fields do not contain any data.") end end Maybe there is an more elegant, Rails-like way to do that.     Hello, I have a C# program that will open a text file, parse it for certain criteria using a RegEx statement, and then write a new text file with the changed criteria. For example: I have a text file with a bunch of machine codes in it such as: X0.109Y0Z1.G0H2E1 My C# program will take this and turn it into: X0.109Y0G54G0T3 G43Z1.H2M08 (Note: the T3 value is really the H value (H2 in this case) + 1). T = H + 1 It works great, because the line usually always starts with X so the RegEx statement always matches.   • ASP.NET MVC: null reference exception using HtmlHelper.TextBox and custom model binder

    I have written a class which implements IModelBinder (see below). This class handles a form which has 3 inputs each representing parts of a date value (day, month, year). I have also written a corresponding HtmlHelper extension method to print out three fields on the form. When the day, month, year inputs are given values which can be parsed, but a seperate value fails validation, all is fine - the fields are repopulated and the page served to the user as expected. however when an invalid values are supplied and a DateTime cannot be parsed, i return an arbitrary DateTime so that the fields will be repopulated when returned to the user. I read up on similar problems people have had and they all seemed to be due to lack of calling SetModelValue().   • HTML Purifier: Removing an element conditionally based on its attributes

    As per the HTML Purifier smoketest, 'malformed' URIs are occasionally discarded to leave behind an attribute-less anchor tag, e.g. <a href="javascript:document.location='http://www.google.com/'">XSS</a> becomes <a>XSS</a> ...as well as occasionally being stripped down to the protocol, e.g. <a href="http://1113982867/">XSS</a> becomes <a href="http:/">XSS</a> While that's unproblematic, per se, it's a bit ugly. Instead of trying to strip these out with regular expressions, I was hoping to use HTML Purifier's own library capabilities / injectors / plug-ins / whathaveyou. Point of reference: Handling attributes Conditionally removing an attribute in HTMLPurifier is easy. Here the library offers the class HTMLPurifier_AttrTransform with the method confiscateAttr(). While I don't personally use the functionality of confiscateAttr(), I do use an HTMLPurifier_AttrTransform as per this thread to add target="_blank" to all anchors. // more configuration stuff up here $htmlDef = $htmlPurifierConfiguration->getHTMLDefinition(true); $anchor = $htmlDef->addBlankElement('a'); $anchor->attr_transform_post[] = new HTMLPurifier_AttrTransform_Target(); // purify down here HTMLPurifier_AttrTransform_Target is a very simple class, of course. class HTMLPurifier_AttrTransform_Target extends HTMLPurifier_AttrTransform { public function transform($attr, $config, $context) { // I could call $this->confiscateAttr() here to throw away an // undesired attribute $attr['target'] = '_blank'; return $attr; } } That part works like a charm, naturally. Handling elements Perhaps I'm not squinting hard enough at HTMLPurifier_TagTransform, or am looking in the wrong place(s), or generally amn't understanding it, but I can't seem to figure out a way to conditionally remove elements. Say, something to the effect of: // more configuration stuff up here $htmlDef = $htmlPurifierConfiguration->getHTMLDefinition(true); $anchor = $htmlDef->addElementHandler('a'); $anchor->elem_transform_post[] = new HTMLPurifier_ElementTransform_Cull(); // add target as per 'point of reference' here // purify down here With the Cull class extending something that has a confiscateElement() ability, or comparable, wherein I could check for a missing href attribute or a href attribute with the content http:/. HTMLPurifier_Filter I understand I could create a filter, but the examples (Youtube.php and ExtractStyleBlocks.php) suggest I'd be using regular expressions in that, which I'd really rather avoid, if it is at all possible. I'm hoping for an onboard or quasi-onboard solution that makes use of HTML Purifier's excellent parsing capabilities. Returning null in a child-class of HTMLPurifier_AttrTransform unfortunately doesn't cut it. Anyone have any smart ideas, or am I stuck with regexes? :)

  • C# - update variable based upon results from backgroundworker

    I've got a C# program that talks to an instrument (spectrum analyzer) over a network. I need to be able to change a large number of parameters in the instrument and read them back into my program. I want to use backgroundworker to do the actual talking to the instrument so that UI performance doesn't suffer. The way this works is - 1) send command to the instrument with new parameter value, 2) read parameter back from the instrument so I can see what actually happened (for example, I try to set the center frequency above the max that the instrument will handle and it tells me what it will actually handle), and 3) update a program variable with the actual value received from the instrument. Because there are quite a few parameters to be updated I'd like to use a generic routine. The part I can't seem to get my brain around is updating the variable in my code with what comes back from the instrument via backgroundworker. If I used a separate RunWorkerCompleted event for each parameter I could hardwire the update directly to the variable. I'd like to come up with a way of using a single routine that's capable of updating any of the variables. All I can come up with is passing a reference number (different for each parameter) and using a switch statement in the RunWorkerCompleted handler to direct the result. There has to be a better way.     I'm getting an 'UnauthorizedAccesExpection - Invalid cross-thread access' exception when I try to raise a PropertyChanged event from within a subscription to an IObservable collection created through Observable.Interval(). With my limited threading knowledge I'm assuming that the interval is happening on some other thread while the event wants to happen on the UI thread??? An explanation of the problem would be very useful. The code looks a little like: var subscriber = Observable.Interval(TimeSpan.FromSeconds(1)) .Subscribe(x => { Prop = x; // setting property raises a PropertyChanged event }); Any solutions?
