• Problem reading from two separate InputStreams

  I'm building a Yammer client for Android in Scala and have encountered the following issue. Searching for the error didn't give much clarity. Does this have something to do with the response from the server? Or is it something else? Complete code can be found at: http://github.com/archevel/YammerTime I get no error if I wait until the first repsponse is finished and then let the other complete. The request is made with the DefaultHttpClient, but this is supposedly thread safe. What am I missing? If anything needs to be clarified just ask :) Cheers, Emil H

• AJAX deeplinking with jQuery Address

  Hello, I have a website which has many pages: For example: HOME: http://mywebsite.com/index.html SOME PAGE: http://mywebsite.com/categorie/somepage.html I decided to make my pages load dynamically with AJAX without reloading the page. So I decided to use jQuery Address plugin ( http://www.asual.com/jquery/address/docs/ ) in order to allow deeplinking and Back-Forward navigation: <script type="text/javascript" src="uploads/scripts/jquery.address-1.2rc.min.js"></script> <script type="text/javascript"> $('a').address(function() { return $(this).attr('href').replace(/^#/, ''); }); </script> Now, after installing the plugin, if I go on http://mywebsite.com/index.html (HOME) and click on SOME PAGE link, jquery successfully loads the http://mywebsite.com/categorie/somepage.html without reloading the page and the address bar on my browser displays: http://mywebsite.com/index.html/#/categorie/somepage.html which is great! However, the problem is: if I copy this dynamically generated URL: http://mywebsite.com/index.html/#/categorie/somepage.html into a web browser address bar, it will take into my website index.html page and not to the "SOME PAGE" page. Also, The Forward/Back buttons don't work correctly, they only replace the address in the URL bar but the content stays the same. I suppose that I need to write some JavaScript rule that associates the dynamic URL with the correct page? Some help would be appreciated. Thanks :)

• Proper way to implement IXmlSerializable?

  Once a programmer decides to implement IXmlSerializable, what are the rules and best practices for implementing it? I've heard that GetSchema() should return null and ReadXml should move to the next element before returning. Are these true? And what about WriteXml: should it write a root element for the object or is it assumed that the root is already written? How should child objects be treated and written. Here's a sample of what I have now.   I am writing a program in Java that takes a custom XML file and parses it. I'm using the XML file for storage. I am getting the following error in Eclipse.   I've written an RSS feed parser in Java (running on Android) and it parses some feeds perfectly, and others not at all. • Parsing unicode XML with Python SAX on App Engine

  I'm using xml.sax with unicode strings of XML as input, originally entered in from a web form. On my local machine (python 2.5, using the default xmlreader expat, running through app engine), it works fine. However, the exact same code and input strings on production app engine servers fail with "not well-formed". Like parsing for html file is easiest and efficient OR parsing for pdf file is easiest and efficient OR parsing for csv file is easiest and efficient ? I am asking this question because I want to parse pdf ,html ,csv and text file through common parsing code if possible. And now suppose if parsing for html is easiest and efficient then : I will write the parsing code for html file and will try to convert pdf file to the html file(if possible)so the code written for parsing html file will also work for pdf file also. And thus I will try to convert pdf,csv and text file to html file.And write the code for parsing html file and thus this code will parse html,pdf,csv and text file. Suppose if parsing for pdf is easiest and efficient then : I will convert html,csv and text file to pdf and write the code for parsing pdf file.So the code for parsing pdf file can parse html,csv and text file. So my question is (1) Which type of file parsing is easiest and efficient (pdf,csv,html,text) ? (2) And converting files(pdf,text,html,csv) to eachother is possible. • Delete record in Linq to Sql

  I have Linq2Sql classes User, Page, and UserPage (from a junction table), i.e. a many-to-many relationship. I'm using a gridview to show all Users, with a dropdownlist in each row to show the Pages visited by each user. Now I want to be able to delete records through the gridview, so I have added a delete button in the gridview by setting "Enable deleting" on it. Then I tried to use the RowDeleting event to specify how to delete the records since it doesn't work by default. And because its a relationship I know I need to delete the related records in the junction table before deleting the user record itself, so I added this in the RowDeleting event: protected void GridView2_RowDeleting(object sender, GridViewDeleteEventArgs e) { int id = (int)((DataKey)GridView2.DataKeys[e.RowIndex]).Value; UserPageDBDataContext context = new UserPageDBDataContext(); var userPages = from userPage in context.UserPages where userPage.User.UserID == id select userPage; foreach (var userPage in userPages) context.UserPages.DeleteOnSubmit(userPage); context.SubmitChanges(); var user = context.Users.Single(u => u.UserID == id); context.Users.DeleteOnSubmit(user); context.SubmitChanges(); } This actually seems to delete records, because the record with the id in question does indeed disappear, but strangely, a new record seems to be added at the end...! So, say I have 3 records in the gridview: 1 Jack stackoverflow.com 2 Betty stackoverflow.com/questions 3 Joe stackoverflow.com/whatever Now, if I try to delete user 1 (Jack), record number 1 will indeed disappear in the gridview, but the same record will appear at the end with a new id: 2 Jack stackoverflow.com 3 Betty stackoverflow.com/questions 4 Joe stackoverflow.com/whatever I have tried searching on how to delete records using Linq, and I believe I'm doing exacly as the examples I have read (e.g. the second example here: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/Bb386925%28v=VS.100%29.aspx). I have read that you can also set cascade delete on the relationship in the database, but I wanted to do it this way in code, as your supposed to be able to. So what am I doing wrong?

• Conditionally display row using JSF Datatable

  I have some JSF code that currently works (as shown below), and I need to modify it to conditionally suppress the display of certain rows of the table. I know how to conditionally suppress the display of a particular cell, but that seems to create an empty cell, while what I'm trying to do is to not display the row at all. • iPhone SDK Push notification randomly fails

  I have a PHP file with the following content that works perfectly on development ceritficates, but when I switch to a production certificate the PHP errors and gives the below message, but it only does this about 50% of the time. The other 50% it works. • SSL HandShakeException: No_Certificate. Using IBM's J9 JVM and Apache Tomcat

  I am developing a mobile application that is to run on a Windows Mobile PDA. The application is written in Java and to run it we are using the J9 JVM from IBM. The application communicates with an Apache Tomcat server over HTTP and we are trying to set it up now to use SSL. I have generated public/private keys for both the client and the server, exported their self signed certificates and imported them into the respective keystores. Initially I tried to just get it working using only server side authentication and that was successful. But I am now trying to get mutual authentication by setting clientAuth="true" in the server.xml file in the apache conf directory. I have enabled the SSL logging on the server and when the client connects the server reports an SSLProtocolException: handshake alert: no_certificate. • feedparser fails during script run, but can't reproduce in interactive python console

  It's failing with this when I run eclipse or when I run my script in iPython: 'ascii' codec can't decode byte 0xe2 in position 32: ordinal not in range(128) I don't know why, but when I simply execute the feedparse.parse(url) statement using the same url, there is no error thrown. This is stumping me big time.   Having a strange issue with the email class in codeigniter. When I send email directly to my gmail account email address, it works fine. However if I send email to a different email address and use POP3 to import that email address into gmail, then for some reason all the headers are included in the message. • How can I put double quotes inside a string within an ajax JSON response from php?

  I receive a JSON response in an Ajax request from the server. This way it works: { "a" = "1", "b" = "hello 'kitty'" } But I did not succeed in putting double quotes around kitty. When I convert " to \x22 in the Ajax response, it is still interpreted as " by JavaScript and I cannot parse the JSON. Should I also escape the \ and unescape later (which would be possible)? How to do this? Edit: I am not sure if i expressed it well: I want this string inside of "b" after the parse: hello "kitty" If necessary I could also add an additional step after the parse to convert "b", but I guess it is not necessary, there is a more elegant way so this happens automatically? Edit2: The ajax page is generated by php.   I wanted to see if there is a way to use the request URL/URL rewriting to set the language a page is rendered in by examining a portion of the URL in ASP.NET. We have a site that already works with ASP.NET’s resource localization and user’s can change the language that they see pages/resources on the site in, however the current mechanism in not very search engine friendly since the language variations for each language all appear as one page. It would be much better if we could have pages like www.site.com/en-mx/realfolder/realpage.aspx that allow linking to culture specific versions of a page. I know lots of people have likely done localization through URL structures before and I wanted to know if one of your could share how to do this in the Global.asax file or with an HTTP Module (pointing to links to blog postings would be great too). We have a restriction that the site is based on ASP.NET 2.0 (so we can't used the 3.5+ features yet). Here is the example scenario: A real page exits at: www.site.com/realfolder/realpage.aspx The page has a mechanism for the user to change the language it is displayed in via a dropdown. There are search engine optimization and user links sharing benefits to doing this since people can link directly to a page that has content that is applicable to a certain language (this could also include right-to-left layouts for languages like Japanese). I would like to use an HTTP module to see if the first part of the URL after www.site.com, site.com, subdomain.site.com, etc. contains a valid culture code (e.g. en-us, es-mx) then use that value to set the localization culture of the page/resources based on that URL. So if the user accesses the URL www.site.com/en-MX/realfolder/realpage.aspx Then the page will render in Mexico’s variant of Spanish. If the user goes to www.site.com/realfolder/realpage.aspx directly the page would just use their browser’s language settings.

• Can Haskell's Parsec library be used to implement a recursive descent parser with backup?

  I've been considering using Haskell's Parsec parsing library to parse a subset of Java as a recursive descent parser as an alternative to more traditional parser-generator solutions like Happy. Parsec seems very easy to use, and parse speed is definitely not a factor for me. I'm wondering, though, if it's possible to implement "backup" with Parsec, a technique which finds the correct production to use by trying each one in turn. For a simple example, consider the very start of the JLS Java grammar: Literal: IntegerLiteral FloatingPointLiteral I'd like a way to not have to figure out how I should order these two rules to get the parse to succeed. As it stands, a naive implementation like this: literal = do { x <- try (do { v <- integer; return (IntLiteral v)}) <|> (do { v <- float; return (FPLiteral v)}); return(Literal x) } Will not work... inputs like "15.2" will cause the integer parser to succeed first, and then the whole thing will choke on the "." symbol. In this case, of course, it's obvious that you can solve the problem by re-ordering the two productions. In the general case, though, finding things like this is going to be a nightmare, and it's very likely that I'll miss some cases. Ideally, I'd like a way to have Parsec figure out stuff like this for me. Is this possible, or am I simply trying to do too much with the library? The Parsec documentation claims that it can "parse context-sensitive, infinite look-ahead grammars", so it seems like something like I should be able to do something here.
