• Digital "Post It" notes for organizing content of sites/pages

  We're restructuring our old intranet into a new one and are going through each site to find content and use our new standard structure/look-and-feel. Do you recommend a tool where you can do "digital Post-It" notes? It would provide a way to type some items on a "card" and be able to move it around and organize it quickly. Also, if you know of tools in general for this kind of task, please advise. Thank you.

• Replicating EFS encrypted files

  Recently I attempted to configure Microsoft's DFSR on Windows 2008 R2 to replicate a folder which was encrypted with EFS. The setup gave no errors or warnings, but later I read that DFSR does not support EFS in any way. There were also event logs in the DFSR event log indicating an encrypted file was found and wont be replicated. http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc773238(v=ws.10).aspx#BKMK_052 My question is, are there any tools that would allow this to occur? Software based preferably.This would be replicating over LAN to destination node for two servers on the same domain.

• isa 2004 - banned site rule cause slow internet

  Hi Gods, We have windows server 2003 with isa 2004. Our clients uses internet with proxy. We have two isa rule: order name action protocolls from/listener to condition 1. trafic ALLOW all outbound all networks all networks all users 2. FTP ALLOW FTP Server EXTERNAL/INTERNAL/Local host 10.1.1.1 So we have to "bann" a few webpage (like facebook, youtube...etc...), so we make a new rule 0. banned DENY HTTP internal denied pages all users In the denied pages we have the *.facebook.com domain set. After we enable this rule, the entire internet slows down. The banning rule works well, redirect to an internal site, but the other sites.... If i open a page..it normally takes 3-10 sec to load, but after this rule this time is: 2-4 minutes. In the monitor / logging menu we got a few FAILED CONNECTION ATTEMPT like: Log type: Web Proxy (Forward) Status: 304 Not Modified Rule: All local traffic Source: Internal ( 10.1.1.1:0 ) Destination: External ( 172.24.28.22:3128 ) Request: GET http://www.konyvelozona.hu/wp-content/uploads/nyugdijas-holgy-2.jpg Filter information: Req ID: 17270b72 Protocol: http User: anonymous Additional information Client agent: Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 8.0; Windows NT 5.1; Trident/4.0; .NET CLR 2.0.50727; .NET CLR 3.0.4506.2152; .NET CLR 3.5.3072... • Using Behavior Trees and Events together

  I am beginning to work with behavior trees and am unsure how events should be handled within the tree. Lets say we have a space game where the player is dogfighting with a handful of other ships, some friendly some not. The player destroys a ship and the rest of the hostile ships should then start to retreat. How was should the shipWasDestroyed event effect the other ship's behavior trees so that they start running the retreat behavior? One way I could think of doing this is have all the conditions I care about be high level nodes that effectively state change the ship. This would mean I'd have to check all of these state change conditions on every frame the behavior tree was run, even if they are very rare occurrences. I'd prefer not doing this for performance and complexity reasons. From looking at the Halo papers on behavior trees it seems that they handled this by dynamically placing nodes into the tree when the event occurred. It seems like calculating where the new node should go could be problematic depending on the current state of the running behavior. How is this normally handled?

• CQRS applicability when some commands need to block the UI

  I am working on an app which I would dearly love to transition from a fairly traditional layered architecture to CQRS, for a number of reasons, not least fo which is that having a robust event log will make adding a couple of feature requests I can see barrelling towards me trivial to accomodate. Now, I have a conceptual problem: of around 40 commands the user can initiate, there are three which the user needs to be sure have successfully completed before the UI lets them do anything else. Everything else fits into the "submit a request, query for success later" model, except for these three commands. How is this handled in CQRS-land? Do I separate the three blocking commands to effectively a third service, so I have Commands, Queries, and BlockingCommands? Do I have a two-stage event processor with an in-request blocking first stage which only gets used for the blocking commands? Does the existence of these three commands mean that the whole idea of applying CQRS is invalid? Should I just pretend they aren't blocking and poll for success in the UI? I'm sure this must come up on other projects, how is it usually handled?

• Pushing complete notifications to client

  So with cqrs, we accept that consistency is eventual. However, that doesn't mean that the user has to continually poll, or that eventual means an update has to take more then 500ms to sync. For the sake of UX, we want to at least give the illusion of consistency, or if not possible, be as transparent as possible. With that in mind, I have this setup: angularjs web client, consumes webapi restful services, sends commands to nservicebus command handlers, saves to neventstore, dispatches events to nservicebus event handlers, sends message to signalr hub, sends notifications to angularjs web client so with that setup, theoretically some initiates a request the server validates the request sends out the necessary commands In the mean time the client gets a 200 response updates the view: working on it gets message sometime later: done, here's the updated data Here's where things get interesting, each command could spawn multiple events. Not sure if this is a serious no, no, or not, but that's how it is currently. For example, a new customer spawns CustomerIDCreated, CustomerNameUpdated, CustomerAddressUpdated, etc... Which event handler needs to notify the client? Should all of them in a progress bar style update?

• Checking update reason after actual update

When the update-window pops up one can click on the entries and find a statement about what bug shall be fixed with a certain package, or more general why it is updated at all. • Drawing a sprite or text causes the OpenGl rendering to 'disappear' in SFML

  I'm using some SFML built in functions to draw sprites and text as an overlay on top of some OpenGL rending in an SFML RenderWindow. The opengl rendering appears fine until I add the code to draw the sprites or text. The sprite or text drawing causes the OpenGL stuff to disappear.
