• Do i need to restore iptable rules everytime on boot?

  Every time i reboot i loose the iptables rules that took me sooo long to enter. I know i can save them and restore them on boot but is there anyway to save them forever? Do i really need to restore them on boot every time? Seriously? The problem is I have a HUGE list of IPs in which i use a while loop to load them in. This can take upwards of 10 minutes. This is my home FTP server. It's a small vm with 1gb ram and very little processing power. There are so many IPs because I've pretty much given up on the Asian continent. I don't need them to be hitting up my ftp server everyday with brute force. I also block gov. monitors, trackers and spammers.   To keep it simple, let's suppose an application which has Accounts and Users. Each account may have any number of users. I can picture three possible roads: 1. So here is what i need: a search engine that will take a keyword. the search engine will open a new page with a list of all website users, displaying first the users that have the specific keyword in their username. display your username in the placeholder.   Hello, I seem to be having a problem with my Custom Adapter view. When I display the list, it only displays a white screen. Here is how it works: 1.) • Django manager for _set in model

  Hello, I'm in the progress of learning Django at the moment but I can't figure out how to solve this problem on my own. I'm reading the book Developers Library - Python Web Development With Django and in one chapter you build a simple CMS system with two models (Story and Category), some generic and custom views together with templates for the views. The book only contains code for listing stories, story details and search. I wanted to expand on that and build a page with nested lists for categories and stories. - Category1 -- Story1 -- Story2 - Category2 - Story3 etc. I managed to figure out how to add my own generic object_list view for the category listing. My problem is that the Story model have STATUS_CHOICES if the Story is public or not and a custom manager that'll only fetch the public Stories per default. I can't figure out how to tell my generic Category list view to also use a custom manager and only fetch the public Stories. Everything works except that small problem. I'm able to create a list for all categories with a sub list for all stories in that category on a single page, the only problem is that the list contains non public Stories. I don't know if I'm on the right track here. My urls.py contains a generic view that fetches all Category objects and in my template I'm using the *category.story_set.all* to get all Story objects for that category, wich I then loop over. I think it would be possible to add a if statement in the template and use the VIEWABLE_STATUS from my model file to check if it should be listed or not. The problem with that solution is that it's not very DRY compatible. Is it possible to add some kind of manager for the Category model too that only will fetch in public Story objects when using the story_set on a category? Or is this the wrong way to attack my problem? • Any tool to make git build every commit to a branch in a seperate repository?

  A git tool that meets the specs below is needed. Does one already exists? If not, I will create a script and make it available on GitHub for others to use or contribute. Is there a completely different and better way to solve the need to build/test every commit to a branch in a git repository? Not just to the latest but each one back to a certain staring point. Background: Our development environment uses a separate continuous integration server which is wonderful. However, it is still necessary to do full builds locally on each developer's PC to make sure the commit won't "break the build" when pushed to the CI server. Unfortunately, with auto unit tests, those build force the developer to wait 10 or 15 minutes for a build every time. To solve this we have setup a "mirror" git repository on each developer PC. So we develop in the main repository but anytime a local full build is needed. We run a couple commands in a in the mirror repository to fetch, checkout the commit we want to build, and build. It's works extremely lovely so we can continue working in the main one with the build going in parallel. There's only one main concern now. We want to make sure every single commit builds and tests fine. But we often get busy and neglect to build several fresh commits. Then if it the build fails you have to do a bisect or manually figure build each interim commit to figure out which one broke. Requirements for this tool. The tool will look at another repo, origin by default, fetch and compare all commits that are in branches to 2 lists of commits. One list must hold successfully built commits and the other lists commits that failed. It identifies any commit or commits not yet in either list and begins to build them in a loop in the order that they were committed. It stops on the first one that fails. The tool appropriately adds each commit to either the successful or failed list after it as attempted to build each one. The tool will ignore any "legacy" commits which are prior to the oldest commit in the success list. This logic makes the starting point possible in the next point. Starting Point. The tool building a specific commit so that, if successful it gets added to the success list. If it is the earliest commit in the success list, it becomes the "starting point" so that none of the commits prior to that are examined for builds. Only linear tree support? Much like bisect, this tool works best on a commit tree which is, at least from it's starting point, linear without any merges. That is, it should be a tree which was built and updated entirely via rebase and fast forward commits. If it fails on one commit in a branch it will stop without building the rest that followed after that one. Instead if will just move on to another branch, if any. The tool must do these steps once by default but allow a parameter to loop with an option to set how many seconds between loops. Other tools like Hudson or CruiseControl could do more fancy scheduling options. The tool must have good defaults but allow optional control. Which repo? origin by default. Which branches? all of them by default. What tool? by default an executable file to be provided by the user named "buildtest", "buildtest.sh" "buildtest.cmd", or buildtest.exe" in the root folder of the repository. Loop delay? run once by default with option to loop after a number of seconds between iterations.

• SharePoint: Problem with BaseFieldControl

  Hi All, In below code in a Gird First column is BaseFieldControl from a column of type Choice of SPList. Secound column is a text box control with textchange event. Both the controls are created at rowdatabound event of gridview. Now the problem is that when Steps: 1) select any of the value from BaseFieldControl(DropDownList) which is rendered from Choice Column of SPList 2) enter any thing in textbox in another column of grid. 3) textchanged event fires up and in textchange event rebound the grid. Problem: the selected value becomes the first item or the default value(if any). but if i do not rebound the grid at text changed event it works fine.   JI have written a .NET C# Windows Form app in Visual Studio 2008 that uses a Semaphore to run multiple jobs as threads when the Start button is pressed. It’s experiencing an issue where the Form goes into a comma after being run for 40 minutes or more. The log files indicate that the current jobs complete, it picks a new job from the list, and there it hangs. I have noticed that the Windows Form becomes unresponsive when this happens. The form is running in its own thread.   I've see this question asked a couple of other times, and I followed this after I tried things on my own with the MS music store demo to no avail, but I still can't get this to work. I've also noticed when I look at my MultiSelectList object in the viewmodel, it has the correct items in the selected items property, but if I expand the results view, it doesn't have any listboxitem with the selected value.   I have an C# form application that use an access database. This application works perfectly in debug and release. It works on all version of Windows. But it crash on one computer with Windows 7. The message I got is: System.Data.OleDb.OleDbException: No value given for one or more required parameters. EDIT, after some debugging with messagebox on the computer that have the problem, here is the code that bug.The error is catched on the cmd.ExecuteReader(). The messagebox juste before is shown and the next one is the one in the catch with the exception below.   Here is a function I would like to write but am unable to do so. Even if you don't / can't give a solution I would be grateful for tips. For example, I know that there is a correlation between the ordered represantions of the sum of an integer and ordered set partitions but that alone does not help me in finding the solution. So here is the description of the function I need: The Task Create an efficient* function List<int[]> createOrderedPartitions(int n_1, int n_2,..., int n_k) that returns a list of arrays of all set partions of the set {0,...,n_1+n_2+...+n_k-1} in number of arguments blocks of size (in this order) n_1,n_2,...,n_k (e.g. n_1=2, n_2=1, n_3=1 -> ({0,1},{3},{2}),...). Here is a usage example: int[] partition = createOrderedPartitions(2,1,1).get(0); partition[0]; // -> 0 partition[1]; // -> 1 partition[2]; // -> 3 partition[3]; // -> 2 Note that the number of elements in the list is (n_1+n_2+...+n_n choose n_1) * (n_2+n_3+...+n_n choose n_2) * ... * (n_k choose n_k). Also, createOrderedPartitions(1,1,1) would create the permutations of {0,1,2} and thus there would be 3! = 6 elements in the list. * by efficient I mean that you should not initially create a bigger list like all partitions and then filter out results. You should do it directly. Extra Requirements If an argument is 0 treat it as if it was not there, e.g. createOrderedPartitions(2,0,1,1) should yield the same result as createOrderedPartitions(2,1,1). But at least one argument must not be 0. Of course all arguments must be = 0. Remarks The provided pseudo code is quasi Java but the language of the solution doesn't matter. Also, I'm just interested in how to write this function. My ideas for (ugly) "solutions" Create the powerset of {0,...,n_1+...+n_k}, filter out the subsets of size n_1, n_2 etc. and create the cartesian product of the n subsets. However this won't actually work because there would be duplicates, e.g. ({1,2},{1})... First choose n_1 of x = {0,...,n_1+n_2+...+n_n-1} and put them in the first set. Then choose n_2 of x without the n_1 chosen elements beforehand and so on. You then get for example ({0,2},{},{1,3},{4}). Of course, every possible combination must be created so ({0,4},{},{1,3},{2}), too, and so on. Seems rather hard to implement but might be possible.   I am trying to build a self-updating collection. Each item in the collection has a position (x,y). When the position is changed, an event is fired, and the collection will relocate the item. Internally the collection is using a “jagged dictionary”. The outer dictionary uses the x-coordinate a key, while the nested dictionary uses the y-coordinate a key. The nested dictionary then has a list of items as value. The collection also maintains a dictionary to store the items position as stored in the nested dictionaries – item to stored location lookup. I am having some trouble making the collection thread safe, which I really need. • Edit of self referencing HABTM in cakephp works, sometimes

  I'm using a self referencing HABTM model with Participants. You sign up for an event and when you log in to your reservation/profile you see a list of other participants and you can choose to add yourself and others into various groups; share hotel room, share transportation from airport etc. What I've managed so far: 1) In my profile I see the list of all other participants with checkboxes. Great so far. 2) Adding another participant works fine. Next time I edit, the participant I added is shown as checked. 3) Removing another participant works fine too as long as you still have checked participants before you submit! Again, with words: There are 3 participants. I'm logged in as one of them, and I see the 2 other people on the participants list. I choose to check both of them. This works fine (always). Later I choose to remove one of them (by unchecking the checkbox and hitting submit). This also works fine (always). If I want to remove the last checkbox... nothing is updated (always!). What's curious is that I can add and remove any odd combination of participants and it will always work UNLESS I choose to remove every participants in one go (removing a one and only participant is a special case of "remove all checked participants"). As far as I know, HABTMs work by first deleting all relations, then re-saving them. I can see that in my tables when I remove, add, remove, add the same participant over and over again - the id on the HABTM table is always increasing. When I deselect all participants at once, however, the relations are not updated. The ids stay the same, so it's like the save never happened. This behaviour is so specific and peculiar, I have a feeling I'm missing something obvious here. • C# performance varying due to memory

  Hope this is a valid post here, its a combination of C# issues and hardware. I am benchmarking our server because we have found problems with the performance of our quant library (written in C#). I have simulated the same performance issues with some simple C# code- performing very heavy memory-usage. The code below is in a function which is spawned from a threadpool, up to a maximum of 32 threads (because our server has 4x CPUs x 8 cores each). This is all on .Net 3.5 The problem is that we are getting wildly differing performance. I run the below function 1000 times. The average time taken for the code to run could be, say, 3.5s, but the fastest will only be 1.2s and the slowest will be 7s- for the exact same function! I have graphed the memory usage against the timings and there doesnt appear to be any correlation with the GC kicking in. One thing I did notice is that when running in a single thread the timings are identical and there is no wild deviation. I have also tested CPU-bound algorithms and the timings are identical too. This has made us wonder if the memory bus just cannot cope. I was wondering could this be another .net or C# problem, or is it something related to our hardware? Would this be the same experience if I had used C++, or Java?? We are using 4x Intel x7550 with 32GB ram. Is there any way around this problem in general?
