• How can I replace the contents of a scrollable div without jumping to the top?

  I have a div with the overflow: auto style. It is populated via AJAX with a result table. The rows in this div are editable, and with each edit I refresh the contents. The problem is, if the user edits something at the bottom of the div, the refresh brings them back to the top. I had some luck using anchors with Firefox, but not all versions of IE jumped to the anchors within the div. Is there any way to replace the contents of a div like this without having the scrollbar jump to the top? Any other suggestions? I like to refresh the entire set of results rather than just the updated row if possible, but if there are no workarounds I guess I will pursue that instead.

  I have an interesting problem, that i am sure has a simple answer, but i can't seem to find it in the docs. I have two separate database tables, on different servers. They are both identical table schema with the same primary keys. I want to merge the tables together on one server. But, if the row on Server1.Table1 exists in Server2.Table2 then sum up the totals in the columns i specify. Table1{ column_pk, counter }; "test1", 3 "test2", 4 Table2{ column_pk, counter }; "test1", 5 "test2", 6 So after i merge i want: "test1",8 "test2",10 Basically i need to do a mysqldump but instead of it kicking out raw INSERT statements, i need to do a INSERT..ON DUPLICATE KEY UPDATE statements. • get data from gridview without querying database

  Hi there I am new at this so please bear with me... I have managed to get the following code to work...so when I click on the "select" link in each row of the gridview, the data is transfered to other label/textbox on the webpage. So far so good, the thing is that everytime I click on select...it goes and checks on the database for the data and there is a delay of a few seconds... I was hoping that the data, since it is already visible on the gridrows, is simply "picked up" and used on other labels/textboxes...without requerying the database. Is this possible ?   I've noticed that some sites (including http://jobs.stackoverflow.com) have query strings that look like this: http://somewebapp.example/?123 as compared to: http://somewebapp.example/123 or http://somewebapp.example/id/123 What are the reasons that developers choose to implement their web apps' URLs using the first example instead of the second and third examples? And as a bonus, how would one implement the first example in PHP, given that 123 is the primary key of some row in a database table? (I just need to know how to retrieve 123 from the URL; I already know how to query the database for a primary key of 123.)

  This question bugged me for years now and can't seem to find good solution still. I working in PHP and Java but it sounds like this maybe language-agnostic :) Say we have a standard status reference table that holds status ids for some kind of entity. Further let's assume the table will have just 5 values, and will remain like this for a long time, maybe edited occasionally with addition of a new status. When you fetch a row and need to see what status it is you have 2 options(as I see it at least) - put it straight ID values(magic numbers that is) or use a named constant. Latter seem much cleaner, the question though is where those named constants should leave? In a model class? In a class that uses this particular constant? Somewhere else?

  I have a number of table rows that I would like to toggle the visibility of. They should be visible if a data item I have set on them earlier equals a selected value in a form. This is what I have so far: $('#category-selector').change(function(event) { var category_id = $(this).val(); if(!category_id) { $('tr', '#table tbody').show(); } else { $('tr', '#table tbody').toggle(); } }); Of course this just toggles them on and off. Thing is that I thought I was able to give toggle a function that would decide if each row should be on or off, but it turns out I can only give it a boolean condition which would be an all or nothing deal kind of... So, I have this function: function() { return $(this).data('category_id') == category_id; } How can I use that to go through all the rows and toggle them on or off? Or is there a better approach to this? What should I do?

  in my app i have an image view and above that i added an button.And also in button click event i am calling a method.But i am unable to click on the button .whenever i try to click the button then the row of the table vie win which my image view is present is selected .Is there any method from which i can get the click event of the button which is placed on the image view.I do not want to use UIbuttons for setting the images in place of image view .Also if i am adding button as a subview of the table view then the click event is working but when i change the subview to image view then i get unsatisfactory result.Please help.   Hi, I have an application which is trying to save a photo to the database. I've created a grails domain class with a byte[] property and this was working well when using HSQLDB (the default in grails). However, when I changed the database to MySQL I ended up getting the following error: Data truncation: Data too long for column 'photo' at row 1 I then had a look at the schema and found that the byte[] was being created as a TINYBLOB field, which was causing the error. How can I specify that this property should correspond to a BLOB/LONGBLOB type in the database?

I'm having an issue with Workoutitems and Workout. Workout will be managed separately, but Workoutitems has a single workout associated with each row. Workout - just a list of types of workouts (run, lift, situps, etc) Selected workout - this is the name of a set of workouts, along with notes by the user and trainer. • SELECT only a certain set of rows at a time

  I need to select data from one table and insert it into another table. Currently the SQL looks something like this: INSERT INTO A (x, y, z) SELECT x, y, z FROM B b WHERE ... However, the SELECT is huge, resulting in over 2 millions rows and we think it is taking up too much memory. Informix, the db in this case, runs out of virtual memory when the query is run. How would I go about selecting and inserting a set of rows (say 2000)? Given that I don't think there are any row ids etc.

First off, my sql skills are not great (I don't even know if I'm following the correct format for illustrating the db). • Edit Mode Delete Spinner Icon for Specific TableView Rows

  I have a grouped tableview. Each section has three rows. I need to be able to delete one section at a time. Using the standard edit mode, I can make it work. However, the delete icon shows up to the left of each cell, not just the first row in each section. Is there a way to suppress the little spinner icon for all rows except the first? I am hoping there is an easy way to do this without subclassing. Thanks for your help.   I have a table of 2 tables in a one to many relationship. I want to run an update script that will update the table with the FK of the related table only if there is one result (because if there is multiple then we need to decide which one to use, in another method) Here is what I have so far: UPDATE import_hourly_event_reports i SET i.banner_id = b.banner_id FROM banner b JOIN plan p ON b.plan_id = p.id WHERE b.campain_id = i.campaign_id AND b.size_id = i.size_id AND p.site_id = i.site_id HAVING COUNT(b.banner_id) = 1 As you can see, the HAVING clause doesn't quite work as I'd expect it. I only want to update the row in the import table with the id of the banner from the banner table if the count is equal to 1.

  OK my regex is a bit rusty and I've been struggling with this particular problem... I need to split and process a string containing any number of the following, in any order: Chars (lowercase letters only) Quote delimited strings Ints The strings are pretty weird (I don't have control over them). When there's more than one number in a row in the string they're seperated by a comma. They need to be processed in the same order that they appeared in the original string. For example, a string might look like: abc20a"Hi""OK"100,20b With this particular string the resulting call stack would look a bit like: ProcessLetters( new[] { 'a', 'b', 'c' } ); ProcessInts( 20 ); ProcessLetters( 'a' ); ProcessStrings( new[] { "Hi", "OK" } ); ProcessInts( new[] { 100, 20 } ); ProcessLetters( 'b' ); What I could do is treat it a bit like CSV, where you build tokens by processing the characters one at a time, but I think it could be more easily done with a regex?

  Hello all, I am trying to make use of JQuery's remove attribute like this: $('#rom-img_1').removeAttr('mouseover'); $('#rom-img_2').removeAttr('mouseout'); However, it does not remove the effects of the events as the events are still triggered on mouseover and on mouseout. I have tried adding "on" before the events names too but JQuery doesn't use it like that. Why isn't this working and how can I remove those attributes.   Hello, I have the following query: SELECT Base.ReportDate, Base.PropertyCode, Base.FirstName, Base.MiddleName, Base.LastName, Person.FirstName, Person.MiddleName, Person.LastName FROM LeaseT INNER JOIN Base ON LeaseT.LeaseID = Base.LeaseID INNER JOIN Person ON LeaseT.TenantID = Person.ID works fine, except there could be 0 to 'N' people in the 'Person' table for each record in the Base table, but I only want to return exactly 1 for each 'Base' record (doesn't matter which, but the one with the lowest Person.ID) would be a reasonable choice. If there is 0 rows in the person table, I still need to return the row, but with null values for the 'person' fields. How would I structure the SQL to do that? Thanks. Edit: Yes, the tables are probably not structured properly, but restructuring at this time is not possible - got to work with what is there.
