  • Why does refreshing a page with a google map often fail?

    I'm working on a website that needs google maps, and testing is being a bitch because refreshing the page very often fails (hangs endlessly) so I need to go to a different page and come back in order to test the new version of the code. I have noticed that refreshing the page only fails on pages with maps, so I'm guessing these are related. Does anyone have a clue?

  • Is there a concise way to map a string to an enum in Objective-C?

    I have a string I want to parse and return an equivalent enum. I need to use the enum type elsewhere, and I think I like how I'm defining the class. The problem is that I don't know a good way to check the string against the enum values without being redundant about the order of the enums. typedef enum { ZZColorRed, ZZColorGreen, ZZColorBlue, } ZZColorType; - (ZZColorType)parseColor:(NSString *)inputString { // inputString will be @"red", @"green", or @"blue" (trust me) // how can I turn that into ZZColorRed, etc. without // redefining their order like this?   • How to strongly type properties in JavaScript that map to models in C# ?

    I'm not even sure if I worded the question right, but I'll try and explain as clearly as possible with an example: In the following example scenario: 1) Take a class such as this: public class foo { public string firstName {get;set;} public string lastName {get;set} } 2) Serialize that into JSON, pass it over the wire to the Browser. 3) Browser de-serializes this and turns the JSON into a JavaScript object so that you can then access the properties like this: var foo = deSerialize("*******the JSON from above**************"); alert(foo.firstName); alert(foo.lastName); What if now a new developer comes along working on this project decides that firstName is no longer a suitable property name. Lets say they use ReSharper to rename this property, since ReSharper does a pretty good job at finding (almost) all the references to the property and renaming them appropriately. However ReSharper will not be able to rename the references within the JavaScript code (#3) since it has no way of knowing that these also really mean the same thing. Which means the programmer is left with the responsibility of manually finding these references and renaming those too. The risk is that if this is forgotten, no one will know about this error until someone tests that part of the code, or worse, slip through to the customer. Back to the actual question: I have been trying to think of a solution to this to some how strongly type these property names when used in javascript, so that a tool like ReSharper can successfully rename ALL usages of the property? Here is what I have been thinking for example (This would obviously not work unless i make some kind of static properties) var foo = deSerialize("*******the JSON from above**************"); alert(foo.<%=foo.firstName.GetPropertyName()%>) alert(foo.<%=foo.lastName.GetPropertyName()%>) But that is obviously not practical.     I am developing a C# VS 2008 website, trying to add a Master file. I created a virtual directory in IIS housing the "Master" folder, containing the Master files. Now how do I reference these files from my website in VS? One problem is I do not know where I need to publish this Master folder to. Other problem is I do not know how to reference this Master file in my aspx Page directive. FYI, this master folder is physically located outside of c:\inetpub\ in a totally separate file location. Is this a problem?

    I am working on a project in which I have around 100000 addreses in major cities in India(it is a table in a database). I want to know if it is possible to obtain the distances to to nearest landmarks (Mall, Hospital, and Airport etc.). Ideally I want these distances to be mergeed to the parent table. We have Java and Php coders to get it done once we find out how to go about it. Any pointers will be of great help. Thank you.

    What is wrong with regex pattern that I created: $link_image_pattern = '/\<a\shref="([^"]*)"\>\<img\s.+\><\/a\>/'; preg_match_all($link_image_pattern, $str, $link_images); What I'm trying to do is to match all the links which has images inside of them.     I have a class named SuperclassA, and an class named ClassA. ClassA inherits from SuperclassA. SuperclassA has got an property called something, so a very generic not-much-saying name. In ClassA, I want to have an property which maps to that something of SuperclassA. How could I do that? I want to make absolutely sure that any access to myBetterProperty results in accessing what's behind something. Assigning an value to myBetterProperty should result in assigning one to something, and vice versa. How to? Pointers set up in init? How would that look like? *self.myBetterProperty = &something; ? I'm not sure about that...

Is what I'm trying to achieve possible with SQLAlchemy? Is there a better way to structure the database to get the same behaviour of "dynamic columns"?

  • Projecting an object into a scene based on world coordinates only

    I want to place a 3D image into a scene base on world/global coordinates. I have an image of a scene. The image was captures at some global coordinate (x1, y1, z1). I am given an object that needs to be placed into this scene based on its global coordinate (x2, y2, y3). This object needs to be projected into the scene accurately similarly to perspective projection. An example may help to make this clear. Imagine there is a parking lot with some set of global coordinates. A picture is taken of a portion of the parking lot. The coordinates from the spot where the image was taken is recorded. The goal is to place a virtual vehicle into this image using the global coordinates for that vehicle. Because the global cooridnates for the vehicle may not be in the fov of the global coordinates for the image I am assuming that I will need the image coordinates, angle and possibly fov. 3D graphics is not my area so I have been looking at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Perspective_projection#Perspective_projection. I have also been looking at Matrix3DProjection which seems to possibly be what I am looking for but it only works in Silverlight and I am trying to do this in WPF. In my mind it appears I need to determine the (X,Y,Z) coordinates that are in the fov of the image, determine the world coordinate to pixel conversion and then accurately project the vehicle into the image giving it the correct perspective such that is looks 3D i.e smaller the further away bigger closer Is there a function within WPF that can help with this or will I need to re-learn matrices and do this by hand?

But the first step of selecting the entire line is not working:- F5:: send {Shift Home} return I have tried few others too, but its not working. This is not sending Shift+Home combination on pressing F5 key. Please tell me what's wrong with this? Also if possible, what to do next?, as if I will write send {F5} I believe, it will recursively fire this script again and again..

    I have an image that is 512x280 pixels. I want to populate a 64x35 array with every 8th pixel in the matrix. Here is what I have right now: Color[,] imgArray = new Color[b.Width, b.Height]; for (int y = 0; y < 35; y++) { for (int x = 0; x < 64; x++) { imgArray[x, y] = b.GetPixel(x, y); } } But that will get just the top corner of the image. How would I change the loop so it grabs every 8th pixel to fill the array with? edit: I think I may have gotten it. Can someone read this and assure me that it is correct?   • Mount exFAT partition in virtual guest machine

    I have a real Ubuntu 12.10 installation being virtualized under a Windows 8 host, by using the VBoxManage.exe internalcommands createrawvmdk method. I'm trying to mount an exFAT partition into the virtualized machine (which is the partition of shared work files), but even though I have fuse-exfat installed, and the partition is perfectly mountable while booting entirely into Ubuntu, I can't mount it while virtualizing it. 1- If I make a full vmdk image of the HDD, including all partitions, Ubuntu 12.10 "sees" the partition, and trying to mount it throws this error: Image: http://i.stack.imgur.com/AyUSn.png 2- If I make a machine with only the linux partitions, + the exFAT partition. Again Ubuntu "sees" the partition and the result is: Error: fsync failed Image: http://i.stack.imgur.com/u4SkC.png 3- If I make a machine with only the linux partitions, and try to mount it, Ubuntu doesn't "see" the partition, and I get this error: Image: i.stack.imgur.com/q1hz5.png I've tried using the VirtualBox' "Shared Folders" functionality but even though I install the "Guest Additions", the system doesn't seem to recognize the shared folder: Image: i.stack.imgur.com/yLU0E.png Help?
