• How to have multiple tables with multiple joins

  I have three tables that I need to join together and get a combination of results. I have tried using left/right joins but they don't give the desired results.   I have an MVC2 Application that uses MVVM pattern. I am trying use Data Annotations to validate form input. How can I get Data Annotations to work with a ViewModel? I cannot see what I'm missing or where I'm going wrong - the VM was working just fine before I started mucking around with validation.

• Why does my UIScrollView change it's original content offset when I scroll?

  Before I scroll, my UIScrollView is laid out perfectly. See here However if I scroll up, the view bounces as I go out of bounds and then resets too high. See here I am going to guess this has to do with a hack that I did earlier to get the view to originally show like in the first screen shot. For some reason, to get my view to look like the second screen shot, I do: [scrollView setContentOffset:CGPointMake(0,-50) animated:YES]; in viewDidLoad But if I set the content offset to 0,0 in viewDidLoad, I get something that looks like the second screen shot when the view loads. This doesn't make much sense to me because if the content offset is 0,0 I would think the content should begin in the upper right corner of the screen. Does anyone know what could be going on here? • Android ViewFlipper is out of control

  I have an app that uses a ViewFlipper to display some text and images. I have the flipper's flipinterval set to 10 seconds, but also want to allow the user to click a button that will advance the flipper. The code blow works great on 2.2, the view is changed every 10 seconds and if I click flip_button the view is changed and the auto flip steps back in 10 seconds later. The 1.5 and 1.6 versions will remember the manual advance and it will happen every time in the rotation. • How do I add/remove items to a ListView in virtual mode?

  If I'm using a ListView in virtual mode then, as I understand it, the list view only keeps track of a small number of items in the list. As the user scrolls it dynamically retrieves items it needs to show from the virtual list. But what if an item is added or removed from the master list? If an item is added/removed outside of the range of indexes being shown by the list view then I would assume the list view would show the added/missing items when the user scrolls to that index. Is this correct? But what if an item is added/removed from the range of indexes the user is currently viewing? How do I trigger the list view to refresh the items it is currently viewing to show the new/missing items?

  Hello All, I am new to Android programming and was handed a fairly large program that is almost complete, but needed support for switching between portrait and landscape view. I added android:configChanges="keyboardHidden|orientation" to the manifest and used onConfigurationChanged to save the view data and that works. However, there is a button that displays the date selected (when pressed a calendar to select the date comes up) and a spinner that displays the current view and is used to select a new view. Those two items are being cleared/reset and do not work at all after the screen flip. I have been attempting to use onSaveInstanceState and onRestoreInstanceState to fix that, but I cannot figure out how to get it to work. Any advice?

• How do I create a Spring 3 + Tiles 2 webapp using REST-ful URLs?

  I'm having a heck of a time resolving URLs with Spring 3.0 MVC. I'm just building a HelloWorld to try out how to build a RESTful webapp in Spring, nothing theoretically complicated. All of the examples I've been able to find are based on configurations that pay attention to file extensions ("*.htm" or "*.do"), include an artificial directory name prefix ("/foo") or even prefix paths with a dot (ugly), all approaches that use some artificial regex pattern as a signal to the resolver. For a REST approach I want to avoid all that muck and use only the natural URL patterns of my application. I would assume (perhaps incorrectly) that in web.xml I'd set a url-pattern of "/*" and pass everything to the DispatcherServlet for resolution, then just rely on URL patterns in my controller. I can't reliably get my resolver(s) to catch the URL patterns, and in all my trials this results in a resource not found error, a stack overflow (loop), or some kind of opaque Spring 3 ServletException stack trace — one of my ongoing frustrations with Spring generally is that the error messages are not often very helpful. I want to work with a Tiles 2 resolver. I've located my *.jsp files in WEB-INF/views/ and have a single line index.jsp file at the application root redirecting to the index file set by my layout.xml (the Tiles 2 Configurer). I do all the normal Spring 3 high-level configuration: <mvc:annotation-driven /> <mvc:view-controller path="/" view-name="index"/> <context:component-scan base-package="com.acme.web.controller" /> ...followed by all sorts of combinations and configurations of UrlBasedViewResolver, InternalResourceViewResolver, UrlFilenameViewController, etc. with all manner of variantions in my Tiles 2 configuration file. Then in my controller I've trying to pick up my URL patterns. Problem is, I can't reliably even get the resolver(s) to catch the patterns to send to my controller. This has now stretched to multiple days with no real progress on something I thought would be very simple to implement. I'm perhaps trying to do too much at once, though I would think this should be a simple (almost a default) configuration. I'm just trying to create a simple HelloWorld-type application, I wouldn't expect this is rocket science. Rather than me post my own configurations (which have ranged all over the map), does anyone know of an online example that: shows a simple Spring 3 MVC + Tiles 2 web application that uses REST-ful URLs (i.e., avoiding forced URL patterns such as file extensions, added directory names or dots) and relies solely on Spring 3 code/annotations (i.e., nothing outside of Spring MVC itself) to accomplish this? I would expect at least to see an error, or the basic html structure, but the page is just empty. Moreover, the controller doesn't work even if I modify it as follows: function index() { echo "hello."; } What am I doing wrong?   Why do the following URLs give me the IIS errors below: A) http://192.168.1.96/cms/View.aspx/Show/Small+test' A2) http://192.168.1.96/cms/View.aspx/Show/Small%20test' <-- this works, but is not the result from HttpUtility.UrlEncode() B) http://192.168.1.96/cms/View.aspx/Show/'%26$%23funky**!!~''+page Error for A: HTTP Error 404.11 - Not Found The request filtering module is configured to deny a request that contains a double escape sequence. Error for B: HTTP Error 400.0 - Bad Request ASP.NET detected invalid characters in the URL. The last part of the URL after /Show/ is the result after the text is being sent through HttpUtility.UrlEncode() so, according to Microsoft it is URL Encoded correctly. If I user HttpUtility.UrlPathEncode() rather than HttpUtility.UrlEncode() I get the A2 results. But B ends up looking like: http://192.168.1.96/TVCMS-CVJZ/cms/View.aspx/Show/'&$#funky**!!~''%20page which is still wrong. Does Microsoft know how to URL Encode at all? Is there a function someone has written up to do it the correct way?

So, in -viewWillDisappear I have: UILabel *label; label = (UILabel *)[self.navigationController.navigationBar viewWithTag:SONG_TAG]; [label removeFromSuperview]; label = (UILabel *)[self.navigationController.navigationBar viewWithTag:ALBUM_TAG]; [label removeFromSuperview]; label = (UILabel *)[self.navigationController.navigationBar viewWithTag:ARTIST_TAG]; [label removeFromSuperview]; I think the way to do this is make a custom view that has the 3 labels in it, and add this to the title view. (here's the catch - you can only add 1 label or view to the title view spot on the nav bar) self.navigationItem.titleView = newViewIMadeWithThreeLabels

• Editing a UIViewController from another class.

  I am trying to programmatically change the user interface of a UIViewController from another NSObject class. The problem is that I am unsure of how to access the UIViewController's view from the NSObject class. So for example, in my NSObject class, I say something like: self.view = [[UIView alloc] initWithFrame:CGRectMake(0, 0, 320, 480)]; self.view.backgroundColor = [UIColor yellowColor]; but I keep getting errors saying "Request for member "view" in something not a strut or union." Is there something I need to allow my NSObject class to see my UIViewController? Thanks!

• Using PHP session_id() to Make Sure iframe is Generated by Our Server Dynamically

  We use iframes to show ads on our site. Iframes are used to allow us to keep the ad generation code and other site modules separate. As we track ad views on our site, and need to be able to keep an accurate count of which pagetype gets what views, I must ensure that users can't simply copy-paste the iframe in which the ad is loaded onto another site. This would cause ad count to become inflated for this page, and the count would not match the view count of the page the iframe "should" be displayed in. Before anyone says so: no I can't simply compare the page view count with the ad view count, or use the page view count * number of ads per page, as # of ads per page will not necessarily be static. I need to come up with a solution that will allow ads to be shown only for iframes that are generated dynamically and are shown on our pages. I am not familiar with PHP sessions, but from what little reading I have had time to do, the following seems to be to be an acceptable solution: Add "s = session_id()" to the src of the ad's iframe. In the code that receives and processes ad requests, only return (and count) and ad if s == session_id(). Please correct me if I'm wrong, but this would ensure: Ads would only be returned to iframes whose src was generated alongside the rest of the page's content, as is the case during normal use. We can return our logo to ad calls with an invalid session_id. I made some basic test cases: two files, one that generates the iframe and echos it, and one that the iframe's src is pointed to, that checks the 's' parameter and shows an appropriate message depending on the result. I copied the iframe into a file and hosted it on a different server, and the correct message was displayed (cannot has ad).   I have created a custom Array Adapter to bind a custom row that contains some static text and an editable EditText. I am trying to register to be notified when the user changes the text within the edit text and when notified to determine which ArrayList row the modified EditText corresponds to. In the past with other types of views such as a Spinner I could simply put a reference to the parent view and the row number into the tag for the Spinner view. And then when I was notified that the value changed I read the tag to determine how to correlate it back to the master ArrayList. The problem with registering to be notifed with an EditText change is that you do not get back a view but instead get a TextWatcher and I have no way to correlate back to the parent view or ArrayList row. What is the technique that you need to use in this circumstance?

  hi everyone, I have a serious problem with nested user controls (UCs) in WinForms while trying to implement the mvp pattern (passive view). The project consists of one model (designed as a singleton) and a set of different presenters with corresponding view interfaces. To avoid one huge view interface and therefore an overloaded main UI, I decided to make use of a set of different UCs. Each UC has one view interface and one presenter that can access the model. But there are nested UCs: meaning that one specialised UC implements sort of a basic UC. The main UI just represents a container for all those UCs. So far, so good (if not, please ask)?! There are two problems that I am facing now (but I guess both are of the same origin): From time to time it is not possible anymore to load the UCs and test them within the Visual Studio 2008 User Control Test Container. The error message just says that a project with an output type of class library cannot be started directly etc. I can "handle" that by unloading all UC projects and reloading them afterwards. (I guess the references to all mvp components and other UCs are then updated). Assuming that the implementation of my mvp pattern is okay and all those UCs are testable within the VS Test Container at a certain time - there is the biggest problem still left: I am not able to add any UC (even the basic and unnested ones) to a simple Form (UI). The error message: error message.jpg Could it be that my basic UC causes all these Problems?! It consists of two simple ComboBoxes and implements a basic presenter and basic view interface. Whenever I add this UC to a different UC the VS designer adds two references to the public getter methods of the UC as resources. I then manually remove those resources from the resx-file and commend the corresponding lines in the designer file. thx in advance
