Simple jquery ajax call leaks memory in ie.

I created a web page that makes an ajax call every second. In Internet Explorer 7, it leaks memory badly (20MB in about 15 minutes). The program is very simple. It just runs a javascript function that makes an ajax call. The server returns an empty string, and the javascript does nothing with it. I use setTimout to run the function every second, and I'm using Drip to watch the thing. I'm not doing anything with the DOM, and if I comment out the ajax call, the memory leak stops. So it looks like the leak is entirely in the ajax call. Does jquery ajax inherently create some sort of circular reference, and if so, how can I free it? By the way, it doesn't leak in Firefox. Someone suggested running the test in another VM and see if the results are the same. Rather than setting up another VM, I found a laptop that was running XP Home with IE8. It exhibits the same problem. I tried some older versions of jquery and got better results, but the problem didn't go away entirely until I abandoned ajax in jquery and went with more traditional (and ugly) ajax.

How to group using XSLT

I'm having trouble grouping a set of nodes. I've found an article that does work with grouping and i have tested it and it works on a small test stylesheet i have I now need to use it in my stylesheet where I only want to select node sets that have a specific value. What I want to do in my stylesheet is select all users who have a userlevel of 2 then to group them by the volunteer region. What happens at the minute is that it gets the right amount of users with userlevel 2 but doesn't print them. Launching Intent.ACTION_VIEW intent not working on saved image file

First of all let me say that this questions is slightly connected to another question by me. Actually it was created because of that. I am creating the "mutable" bitmap after seeing someone using it and it seems to work better than without it. And i am using the parse method on the Uri class and not the fromFile because in my code i am calling these in different places and when i am creating the intent i have a string path instead of a file. Now for my problem. The file gets created. The intent launches a dialog asking me to select a viewer. I have 3 viewers installed. The Astro image viewer, the default media gallery (i have a milstone on 2.1 but on the milestone the 2.1 update did not include the 3d gallery so it's the old one) and the 3d gallery from the nexus one (i found the apk in the wild). Now when i launch the 3 viewers the following happen: Astro image viewer: The activity launches but i see nothing but a black screen. Media Gallery: i get an exception dialog shown "The application Media Gallery (process com.motorola.gallery) has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again" with a force close option. 3D gallery: Everything works as it should. When i try to simply open the file using the Astro file manager (browse to it and simply click) i get the same option dialog but this time things are different: Astro image viewer: Everything works as it should. Media Gallery: Everything works as it should. 3D gallery: The activity launches but i see nothing but a black screen. As you can see everything is a complete mess. I have no idea why this happens but it happens like this every single time. It's not a random bug. Am i missing something when i am creating the intent? Or when i am creating the image file? Any ideas?

Hi, I have a memory leak in my app. (This is the first of many I'm sure :() I've being trying to use Instruments to find it. Instruments gives me a lot of information but I think I must just not know how to use this information. What I did so far was 1) Run the app with Instruments 2) Memory Leak Occurs named general -stack 16 3) Find general - stack 16 in the object allocations part of instruments 4) The information here says the event type is a malloc, that webcore is responsible and the something named WKSetCurrentGraphicContext is the responsible caller. How can I use this given information to discover where in my code the leak is being caused? What happens when I test the whole thing: - first user click on a day, then time of day. Popup opens with time and date indicated on the form. When user submits the form, dialog closes and calendar refreshes its events.... and the event added by the user appears several times (from 4 to up to 11 times!). The form has been processed several times by the receiving php script?! - second user click, the popup opens, user submit empty form. Form is submitted (validate function not triggered) and user redirected to empty page json-events.php (ajaxForm not triggered either) Obviously, my code is wrong (and dirty as well, sorry). Why is the submitted form, submitted several time to receiving script and why is the javascript function EventLoad triggered only once ? Thank you very much for you help. Event receiver on Content Type not triggered on WikiPageLibrary

Hello all, I created a new content type for a wiki page library. I added this content type to library by code (the interface did not allow this). Next, I added an event receiver to this content type (on ItemAdded and ItemAdding). My problem is that no event is trrigered. If I add this events directly to the wiki page library all works fine. Is there a limitation/bug/trick ? css, unordered list not displaying icon in right place...

I'm really frustrated with this one. A few weeks ago I got it working in both firefox and ie just fine. Went back today to do some testing and found a problem with the display in firefox and I've been searching the code but can't find anything. I could use a few tips from anyone willing, I'm sure I'm looking at the wrong things. I upgraded my firefox version but I imagine my code is broke, not firefox. I'm assuming the problem is somewhere in my css file, but I'm not sure. Here's what I've confirmed so far. There don't seem to be conflicts in other css files with < ul 's or < li 's that may be overriding settings. The other confirmation is that This works fine in Internet Explorer...therefore I must be an idiot, because its usually been the other way around (working in FF, but failing in IE). Error When Loading Images on Local Host Test Server

I have a peculiar problem that I just can't seem to find an explanation. I'm working on an AngularJS site for our family and am integrating data from various web services. Currently I am working on the photos section which will integrate in photos from our Flickr account. I have a main page which lists the various photo sets and displays the set's primary photo along with the title. Also, the images show up on the first page, but not on the second, even though one of the images on the second page is the same image URL as on the first page. Even going directly to the second page, bypassing the first page, still fails. Any ideas on how to fix this? It would be nice to test locally without having to upload to the server each time I make a change. Update: I have shut off the $sce security to see if that was causing the issue. Although it resulted in turning the error off, the files still don't load on the local test server. I have used the developer tools' network monitor and it doesn't even show an attempt to retrieve the files. AngularJS appears to shut down the retrieval, although the correct path shows up in the DOM.

More specificly i want to make a http POST request to http://iqs.me that sends a file in the variable "pic". I've made a lot of tries but i don't know if i've even been close. The hardest part seems to be to get a HttpURLConnection to make a request of the type POST. The response i get looks like it makes a GET. multipart file-upload post request from java

I'm trying to make a program that uploads a image to a webserver that accepts multipart file-uploads. More specificly i want to make a http POST request to http://iqs.me that sends a file in the variable "pic". I've made a lot of tries but i don't know if i've even been close. The hardest part seems to be to get a HttpURLConnection to make a request of the type POST. The response i get looks like it makes a GET. java gui changing picture causes heapspace error

I have a java programme than when a button is clicked it updates the image on screen to the according image. this will work for the first 15 or so clicks then it causes a java heapspace error. I think it is because of the way I am updating the jpanel that contains the bufferedimage but not sure what the reason is. Append <ul> and <li> in recursive loop

I have a site collection. I was told I need a recursive loop to do this. This is what I've tried: When the site loads, call getSiteTree() which passes the top level website to my getSubSite() function. From there I check if there are any subsites. I have a boolean but I'm not really using it for anything yet, I've just seen it used before for this type of work. Anyways, from there I check if there are any sub sits, if not I log the end of the branch, if there are, I call the function again using the new url and repeat the process. I got a code from Android Hive to parse JSON data from url. Then I am trying to implement the same code on Rotten Tomatoes Upcoming Movies Api. What's wrong with my configurations ? Is there a way so i can do such a thing ?
