  I have seen several questions regarding SocketException when using Android, but none of them cover the BindException that I get even with the INTERNET permission specified in my manifest. • No memory window in Visual Studio 2010

  I have VS2010 Premium RTM version on Windows 7 Ultimate x64. In the documentation they refer to the Memory 1-4 windows, supposedly under Debug-Windows-Memory. I have "Enable address-level debugging" enabled in VS (Options-Debugging). The problem is that I have no Memory menu item under Debug-Windows during debug of a c++ program. Under Debug-Windows I have only: Breakpoints Parallel Tasks Parallel Stacks Watch - Locals Call Stack Threads Have anyone else experienced this (and hopefully solved it)?

  I'm trying to use Apache Lucene for tokenizing, and I am baffled at the process to obtain Tokens from a TokenStream. The worst part is that I'm looking at the comments in the JavaDocs that address my question. http://lucene.apache.org/java/3_0_1/api/core/org/apache/lucene/analysis/TokenStream.html#incrementToken%28%29 Somehow, an AttributeSource is supposed to be used, rather than Tokens.   Every new web service you create using visual studio comes with a predefined namespace like this: [WebService(Namespace = "http://tempuri.org/")] My web service will run at different clients, and on different domains, so because of this I don't know the domain upfront during development, also I don't want to have to edit this file, each time I deploy to a new client. What exactly should the value of Namespace be? It seems like a web address, but that doesn't make sense to me. Please explain. Thanks

• IE won't load PDF in a window created with window.open

  Here's the problem, which only occurs in Internet Explorer (IE). I have a page that has links to several different types of files. Links from these files execute a Javascript function that opens a new window and loads the specific file. This works great, unless the file I need to open in the new window is a PDF in which case the window is blank, even though the URL is in the address field. Refreshing that window using F5 doesn't help. However, if I put the cursor in the address field and press <enter> the PDF loads right up. This problem only occurs in IE. I have seen it in IE 7 and 8 and am using Adobe Acrobat Reader 9. In Firefox (PC and Mac) everything works perfectly. In Chrome (Mac), the PDF is downloaded. In Safari (Mac) it works. In Opera (Mac) it prompts me to open or save. Basically, everything probably works fine, except for IE. I have searched for similar problems and have seen some posts where it was suggested to adjust some of the Internet Options on IE. I have tried this but it doesn't help, and the problem wasn't exactly the same anyway. Here's the Javascript function I use to open the new window. function newwin(url,w,h) { win = window.open(url,"temp","width="+w+",height="+h+",menubar=yes,toolbar=yes,location=yes,status=yes,scrollbars=auto,resizable=yes"); win.focus(); } You can see that I pass in the URL as well as the height, h, and width, w, of the window. I've used a function like this for years and as far as I know have never had a problem. I call the newwin() function using this. <a href="javascript:newwin('/path/document.pdf',400,300)">document.pdf</a> (Yes, I know there are other, better ways than using inline JS, and I've even tried some of them because I've run out of things to try, but nothing works.) So, if anyone has an idea as to what might be causing this problem, I'd love to hear it.

• HTTP 400 Bad Request error attempting to add web reference to WCF Service

  I have been trying to port a legacy WSE 3 web service to WCF. Since maintaining backwards compatibility with WSE 3 clients is the goal, I've followed the guidance in this article. After much trial and error, I can call the WCF service from my WSE 3 client. However, I am unable to add or update a web reference to this service from Visual Studio 2005 (with WSE 3 installed). The response is "The request failed with HTTP status 400: Bad Request". I get the same error trying to generate the proxy using the wsewsdl3 utility. I can add a Service Reference using VS 2008. Any solutions or troubleshooting suggestions?
