• Spring transaction management breaks hibernate cascade

  i have 2 classes. Person and Contact. Person class has property named "ContactNumber" which returns the Contact type, and this property is marked as "Datamember" for serialization. i have marked Contact type as "DAtaContract". on client side i am able to get the values, but when i try to insert a value and then do submit, i get the below exception. • NHibernate and hbm2dll update attribute

  Hi, i'm using NHibernate with Sdf database. In my hibernate.cfg.xml file i've set: <property name="hbm2ddl.auto" value="update"/> But this does not seem to work at all. "Update" attribute should make NHibernate generate missing tables and columns during application launch, but it does not happen. If i want missing tables geenrated I have to set hbm2dll.auto property to "create" which is not an option for me since it drops existing db content beforehand. I experienced the same problem with PostgreSql problem. Am I missing something?

  I have a situation where I need to store a globally unique identifier that points to an Active Directory user account. I'm leaning towards the Guid because it is easier to store than the Sid. According to the MSDN entry, the property (which is a Nullable), will always return null if the ContextType is set to "Machine." I don't need to worry about this because our ContextType will always be set to "Domain." My question is, will this property ever return null if the ContextType is "Domain"? In other words, will an account in an AD DS store always have a Guid?

• Unable to view GWT 2.0.1 application in IE8.

  Hi, I'm creating an application using GWT 2.0.1; it complies 6 computations and runs well in all browsers except IE8, it shows a blank page( but can be viewed in IE8 compatibility mode) . When I add the line in my gwt.xml <set-property name="user.agent" value="ie8" / > it compiles just 1 permutation and the application displays fine in IE8. However if I add the line lt;set-property name="user.agent" value="ie8,gecko,gecko1_8,safari,opera" /gt; it compiles all permutations, but the application still cannot be viewed in IE8 but runs properly in all other browsers. Is there any other method to ensure my application will run in all browsers ?

• Why doesn't this code work correctly?

  I'm working on a website that displays galleries, using jCarousel. But no matter what I try, I can't get it to work, and I need to finish this by today. I have a very urgent schedule. My code basically takes image URLs from a database and sends them to AJAX, which passes it to jCarousel which makes the gallery. But there are a few problems: It doesn't display correctly! I can only get the last item pulled from the database, and it displays on the bottom-most row. After the item pulled from the database is displayed, the first time I click on "prev" there's no scroll effect, and the item just disappears! Only if I click on "next" 2-3 times there's a scroll effect and the item remains visible. My items are always displayed at the end of the carousel! This is urgent.. EDIT: I changed the code a bit, but it still does not work. I really need help on this one!! EDIT: I added document.createElement("li"); to each while loop. Now all my items are displayed, but they are displayed vertically and not horizontally on each row. Other than that all other problems are the same. EDIT: Oh and also, in the row my image displays, only the image is there. Maybe jCarousel doesn't accept img and text, I don't know.

• WPF - Binding a variable in an already bound ListBox?

  I really don't know how to title this question, but I need some help with binding to a ListBox. I have an object, that contains (among other information) 2 properties that need to be bound in one ListBox. One of these is an ObservableCollection of objects, called Layers, and the other property holds an enum value of either Point, Line or Polygon, called SpatialType. These are to act as a legend to a map application. I have bound Layers to a ListBox, no problem, but inside the ListBox.ItemTemplate, I need to bind the single variable SpatialType to every Item in the ListBox. The problem I'm running into is that when I try to bind while inside the ListBox, the only variables I have access to are the properties of each Layer and I can't access any properties of the original bound class that holds the Layers (and the needed SpatialType property). What can I do to get that piece of information bound inside the ItemTemplate without messing up a good MVVM architecture?

  Hi there, I have the following LINQ query that I need to translate to Entity SQL /eSQL): return (ObjectQuery<User>) from user in Users where !user.Roles.Any(r => r.AnIntegerProperty < 0) select user; User.Roles is an navigation property to the n:m relation to Roles and there also is a Role.Users navigation property the other way round. There aren't User_Roles or Roles_User Entities available in the model, and I can't add these. I also can't use the LINQ statement here, because I need to add .OrderBy("it." + propertyname) (comes from another source, can't change that too) later on which is not possible if the ObjectQuery is build with linq. So how do I translate this to eSQL? And where can I find good eSQL samples? I searched for a whole day until now and must admit that eSQL reference is lousy and there aren't any usable examples around the web.

  Dear ladies and sirs. I know that this attribute should work in C# and yet, in my case it does not. I have a class with a lazy property Children. Accessing this property may have a side effect of roundtripping to the server. So, naturally, I do not want this to happen when I just watch it in the debugger watch window. Provided the image link is still valid it should be visible below: http://i28.tinypic.com/2zxo9s5.jpg The attribute is really there, according to Reflector. I use VS2008. Any ideas?

• Convert InputStream to String with encoding given in stream data

  Hi, My input is a InputStream which contains an XML document. Encoding used in XML is unknown and it is defined in the first line of XML document. From this InputStream, I want to have all document in a String. To do this, I use a BufferedInputStream to mark the beginning of the file and start reading first line. I read this first line to get encoding and then I use an InputStreamReader to generate a String with the correct encoding. It seems that it is not the best way to achieve this goal because it produces an OutOfMemory error.   There is so much info out there on using Apple's Reachability example, and so much is conflicting. I'm trying to find out of I'm using it (Reachability 2.0) correctly below. My App use case is this: If an internet connection is available through any means (wifi, LAN, Edge, 3G, etc.) a UIButton ("See More") is visible on various views. If no connection, the button is not visible. The "See More" part is NOT critical in any way to the app, it's just an add-on feature. "See More" could be visible or not anytime during the application lifecycle as connection is established or lost. Here's how I did it - Is this correct and/or is there a better way?   So I have a drop-down menu that shows on a click, as per business requirements. The menu becomes hidden again after you mouse away from it. But now I am being asked to have it stay in place until user clicks anywhere on the document. How can this be accomplished? • Deserialization on client side in Domain Service

  I have 2 classes: Person and Contact. Person class has a property named ContactNumber which returns the Contact type, and this property is marked as a DataMember for serialization. I have marked Contact type as a DataContract. On the client side I am able to get the values, but when I try to insert a value and then do submit, I get the following exception: Failed to deserialize change-set. • Ontology and same individuals

  I am having a problem with "same individuals property" in protege, when i run a reasoner (pellet 1.5 or fact++) Lets take ontology example thing has class sons A and B, A has sons C and D. B, C and D have individuals of the same class. Cant i say a individual C is "same individual" as individual B, and then add also individual D is "same individual" as individual B. Wich is true, they have diferent names, but they are same individual.. Why does it only work when i set individual B has "same individual" of type C or D? The protege error is "InconsistentOntologyException:Fact++.Kernel: inconsistent Ontology" and pellet says ontology is inconsistent. EDIT: Seems its a more deep rooted problem, this example works :(, gonna keep checking. EDIT2: After some more experimenting, seems its a conflict with DataType properties. They all share a DataType properties with same name. In the example domain of property would be A and range string. Any idea how to solve?
