  • Where do I define dependency properties shared by the detail views in a master-detail MVVM WPF scena

    I can think of two ways to implement dependency properties that are shared between the detail views: Store them in the master view model and add data bindings to the detail view models when they are created, and bind to them in the detail view. Don't store them in the view models at all, and use FindAncestor to bind directly to properties of the master view instead. What are the pros and cons of each, and are there other/better options?

  • Use only alpha channel of texture in OpenGL?

    Hey, I'm trying to draw a constant color to the framebuffer and blend it using the alpha channel from an RGBA texture. I've been looking at glBlendFunc and glBlendColor, but can't seem to figure out a way to ignore the RGB values from the texture. I'm thinking I'll have to pull out the alpha values myself and make a second texture with GL_ALPHA. Is there a better way to do this? Thanks!

    I'm working with a time sensitive desktop application that uses p/invoke extensively, and I want to make sure that the code is not wasting a lot of time on CAS stackwalks. I have used the SuppressUnmanagedCodeSecurity attribute where I think it is necessary, but I might have missed a few places. Does anyone know if there is a way to monitor the number of CAS stackwalks that are occurring, and better yet pinpoint the source of the security demands?

    Has there ever been any attempts at utilizing artificial neural networks in decompilation? It would be nice if it was possible to provide the trimmed semantics of source along with the code in to a neural network so it could learn the connection between the two. I assume this would likely lose it's effectiveness when there is optimizations and maybe work better for high level languages too but I'm interested in hearing any attempts anyone has had at this.

    Hello, I started using Zend_Paginator, it works everything fine but I noticed that there is one more query which slows the load time down. The additional query: SELECT COUNT(1) AS `zend_paginator_row_count` FROM `content` The normal query: SELECT `content`.`id`, `content`.`name` FROM `content` LIMIT 2 PHP: $adapter = new Zend_Paginator_Adapter_DbSelect($table->select()->from($table, array('id', 'name'))); $paginator = new Zend_Paginator($adapter); Could I merge the two querys into one (for better performance)?

    Hi, I have 3 classes A,B,C . Class A creates B .. class B creates class C. Class C raises events after some action/operation with some data, which is handled by event handler in Class B. Now I want to be handle or pass the same raised event data to Class A. I know i can raise another event from class B and handle it in A but is there a better way of handling such events?? Thx

Would be great for writing Android applications in Python!   • How do you find the disk size of a Postgres table and its indexes

    I'm coming to Postgres from Oracle and looking for a way to find the table and index size in terms of bytes/MB/GB/etc, or even better the size for all tables. In Oracle I had a nasty long query that looked at user_lobs and user_segments to give back an answer. I assume in Postgres there's something I can use in the information_schema tables, but I'm not seeing where. Thanks in advance.

    Hi I'm implementing CRUD functionality using ExpandableListView. Wen I delete a parent data on screen refreshes automatically but it doesn't when I delete a child. I've solved this with: int categoryId = ExpandableListView.getPackedPositionGroup(info.packedPosition); getExpandableListView().collapseGroup(categoryId); getExpandableListView().expandGroup(categoryId); Is there any better way to this? I'm looking for alternatives to the Delphi suite (so don't give it as an answer), something that would allow me to write Windows GUI applications with ease. I don't care about the language, as long as it gets the job done, but I would appreciate if your suggestions avoid functional languages. Even better if it abstracts the windowing system with something more simple than the winAPI.
