  • Adding file of the same name into the same list and unable to update name of the SPFile

    Hi all: I'm having difficulties adding file of the same name in the same list and subsequently updating/changing/modifying the name of a SPFile. Basically, this is what I'm trying to do: string fileName = "something"; // obtained from a loop -- loop omitted here. SPFile file = folder.Files.Add(fileName, otherFile.OpenBinary()); The Add method will generate a runtime exception when it finds another file of the same name in the same list/folder. So I thought of changing the file name later in the process: string newGuid = Guid.NewGuid().ToString(); SPFile file = folder.Files.Add(newGuid, otherFile.OpenBinary()); // some other processing... afterwards, rename the file file.name = fileName; file.Item.Update(); A few minute of googling indicated I need to either move the file around, or update the name field by using ["Name"] instead. I was wondering are there any other better ways to get around this problem? Thanks.

  • Expected specifier-qualifier-list before ... only in classes in a certain folder

    Hi Classes in my iPhone project are organised within folders on the filesystem, these correspond to groups (for each folder) in xcode. My problem is that there seems to be a particular class which classes in a particular group/folder cannot make reference to; the compiler complains of "Expected specifier-qualifier-list...". This happens on any class within this group, and also when I create a new class within this group and try and import the offending class like so: #import <Foundation/Foundation.h> #import "MyClass.h" @interface TryingToImport : NSObject { MyClass *myClass; // Expected specifier-qualifier-list before 'MyClass' } Creating an identical class in any other group works OK. I understand this error message is usually due to cyclical import references, I have checked over and over and there don't seem to be any of these. I assume I have inadvertantly configured the offending group to be different to the others in some way but I can't figure out how. Help please!

Which is the same as test4 and test6 but they're actually slower? 2. I don't seem a consistent performance difference when calling test4 and test6, shouldn't static calls to be always faster?

  • What's the .proto equivalent of List<T> in protobuf-net?

    To keep some consistency, we use code generation for a lot of our object models, and one of the offshoots of that has been generating the .proto files for ProtocolBuffers via a separate generation module. At this point though, I'm stumped at how to implement the generation for when it happens upon a List<T> object. It looks like this is possible via contracts: [ProtoMember(1)] public List<SomeType> MyList {get; set;} but outside of that, I'm not sure how or if it's possible to do this only from creating the .proto file/using the VS custom tool. Any thoughts?

  • How can I diagnose "Cannot determine peer address" in my Perl TCP script?

    I've this little script which does it's job pretty well but sometimes it tends to fail. It fails in 2 cases: with error send: Cannot determine peer address at ./tcp-new.pl line 52 with no output or anything, it just fails to deliver what it got to connected Tcp Client. Usually it happens after I disconnect from server, go home and connect it again. To fix this restart is required and it starts working. Sometimes this problem is followed by problem mentioned in point 1. Note: it's not problem when I disconnect and reconnect to it again within short amount of time (unless error nr 1 happens).     I'm following Phil's great tutorial on model binding to a list. I use input names like this: book[5804].title book[5804].author book[1234].title book[1234].author This works well and the data gets back to the model just fine, populating a list of books. What I'm looking for is a way to get access in the model to the index that was used to send the books. I'd like to get that number, "5804." This is because the index is of semantic importance. If I can access it, it saves me from setting another property on the object (book ID). Is there a way to see, either on the FormCollection or on the model after UpdateModel is called, what the index was when it was sent up?

    My input is a long list of files located on an Amazon S3 server. I'd like to download the metadata of the files, compute the hashes of the local files, and compare the metadata hash with the local files' hash. Currently, I use a loop to start all the metadata downloads asynchronously, then as each completes, compute MD5 on the local file if needed and compare.   • Nhibernate fires SQL commands

    Hi all, when updating an entity A, NHibernate also send an SQL update command for some other entity B. A and B are not related. Just before saving entity A, the parent of entity B is loaded via a SQLQuery. Then, when accessed, B is lazy loaded (part of a collection). If I save entity A an update statement for entity B is generated as well. How can that be, that when saving an entity, another entity loaded before but is not related to the entity saved, is updated as well?! Can I somehow track where the update comes from? Btw. I am using an save event listener. Could it be that this is always triggered for entity loaded, even though they are not saved explicitly? public class EntitySaveEventListener : NHibernate.Event.Default.DefaultSaveEventListener { protected override object PerformSaveOrUpdate(SaveOrUpdateEvent e) { //auditing return base.PerformSaveOrUpdate(e); } } Update (sorry for providing not enough info): I tracked it down a bit. Right before saving this entity a session flush is called which updates the address, even though I did not call save or update on the address.     I need to be able to display and edit a hierarchical list of tasks in a C# app. It can either be a Windows form app, or ASP.NET. Basically, I want similar behaviour to the way Microsoft Project handles tasks. The control would need to: 1) Maintain a list of items made up of several fields 2) Each item can have a number of children (at least 3 levels of nesting) 3) It needs to be very easy to change the parents/children of an item 4) It needs to be very easy to edit the fields (as fast as changing cells in Excel) 5) It needs to be very easy to reorder the items by dragging and dropping or cut and paste 6) If I can easily connect the control to a database, even better Before I go and create something manually, I'm wondering if there is something available already?

I'm performing a glob match on the list of arguments, to expand them into a full list of files, then I want to replace the passed argument array with the new expanded one.   • How to prevent certain workflows from showing in SharePoint's Workflow.aspx page for a list.

    I have a few workflows associated with a SharePoint list (e.g., Pages). Some are written as SharePoint WF workflows in Visual Studio, but some are no-code workflows created in SharePoint Designer. I programmatically start the WF workflows, but the no-code ones are started manually. When a user goes to "/_layouts/Workflow.aspx?ID=&List=&ShowStart=1" they will see all of the workflows. If I set ShowStart variable to 0 they will see none. If I don't allow the WF workflows to be started manually, then they don't seem to start programmatically correctly. Is there a way to allow the WF workflows to be started programmatically, but not manually? I also want the no-code workflows to be able to be started manually when ShowStart=1. Any ideas are welcome.

    Hi all, I made a private API that assumes that the address of the first member-object in the class will be the same as the class's this-pointer... that way the member-object can trivially derive a pointer to the object that it is a member of, without having to store a pointer explicitly. Given that I am willing to make sure that the container class won't inherit from any superclass, won't have any virtual methods, and that the member-object that does this trick will be the first member object declared, will that assumption hold valid for any C++ compiler, or do I need to use the offsetof() operator (or similar) to guarantee correctness?     Hi, I am new to MVC and have a grasp of the basic model, but still doing everything with postbacks etc. One aspect of the UI I want to build is to have a drop-down-list of items with a button to add an item to the database and refresh the list. Achieving this with WebForms was straight forward as everything was wrapped in UpdatePanels, but what is the best approach to achieve this using MVC?   • AnkhSVN - How to remove old URLs from list of URLs in the "Open from Subversion" dialog box

    I work for a small company and am the sole developer using AnkhSVN to version my code. For the server side I am using VisualSVN v2.5.8. The server is installed on my own machine (on a different drive). I have a few repositories that I created about two years ago that have been working fine. We recently completed an Active Directory Domain Rename (that's another story) so the FQDN of my machine changed so the domain portion is no longer the same as what it was when the server portion was installed. I managed to get AnkhSVN to connect to the repositories so everything is working again but the URL list that comes up on the "Open from Subversion" dialog box still has all the old URLs. How can I remove them? I've searched everywhere I can think of looking for this list but can't seem to find it anywhere. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Chuck R.

  • [hibernate - jpa] @OneToOne annotoation problem (i think...)

    Hi all, im new in hibernate and JPA and i have some problems with annotations. My target is to create this table in db (PERSON_TABLE with personal-details) ID ADDRESS NAME SURNAME MUNICIPALITY_ID First of all, i have a MUNICIPALITY table in db containing all municipality of my country. I mapped this table in this ENTITY: @Entity public class Municipality implements Serializable { @Id @GeneratedValue(strategy=GenerationType.IDENTITY) private Long id; private String country; private String province; private String name; @Column(name="cod_catasto") private String codCatastale; private String cap; public Municipality() { } ... Then i make an EMBEDDABLE class Address containing fields that realize a simple address... @Embeddable public class Address implements Serializable { @OneToOne(cascade=CascadeType.ALL) @JoinColumn(name="id_municipality") private Municipality municipality; @Column(length=45) private String address; public Address() { } ... Finally i embedded this class into Person ENTITY @Entity public class Person implements Serializable { @Id @GeneratedValue(strategy=GenerationType.IDENTITY) private Long id; private String name; private String surname; @Embedded private Address address; public Person() { } ... All works good when i have to save a new Person record, in fact hibernate creates a PERSON_TABLE as i want, but if i try to retrieve a Person record i have an exception. HQL is simply "from Person" The excpetion is (Entities is the package containing all classes above-mentioned): org.hibernate.AnnotationException: @OneToOne or @ManyToOne on Entities.Person.address.municipality references an unknown entity: Entities.Municipality Is the @OneToOne annotation the problem?
