Php mail pulling form data from previous page

From here, it goes to another php which part of it contains script to send a html email to recipient. Stacked up with web service configuration

I'm currently stacked with the web service that im creating right now. when Testing it in local it all works fine but when I try to deploy it to the web server it throws me the following error An error occurred while trying to make a request to URI '...my web service URI here....'. This could be due to attempting to access a service in a cross-domain way without a proper cross-domain policy in place, or a policy that is unsuitable for SOAP services. I have a search page with the following scenarios listed below. I was told there was a better way to do it, but not how, and that I am using too many if statements, and that it's prone to causing an error through url manipulation: Search.cfm will processes a search made from a search bar present on all pages, with one search input (titleName). If search.cfm is accessed manually (through URL not through using the simple search bar on all pages) it displays an advanced search form with three inputs (titleName, genreID, platformID) or it evaluates searchResponse variable and decides what to do. Login or Register (Ruby on rails)

Hello stackoverflow, I'm working on an Ruby on Rails application (2.3.x) and i want to make a form that lets the user login or register. I want to do this in the same form. But i want to use the validates_presence_of methods and i don't want to slap the "conventions over configurations" in the face. So another thing i have tried is adding a hidden field to the form: #login form <%= f.hidden_field :login, :value => true %> # and ofcourse set it to false if we want to register. And login isn't a attribute for the user object. But i thought that in this way i could validate the email and password params if the user wants to login. And all the other attrs if the user want to register. So all i could think of doesn't work how i want it to work. So my main goal is this: 1 form for login/register with the use of the validation methods in the user model. So if we want to login but don't fill in any information = give validation errors. And if the user wants to login but the email/password combination doens't match give the "@user.errors.add(:email, "the combination wasn't found in the db...")". And the same goes for user register... Thanks in advance!

Many-to-one relation exception due to closed session after loading

Hi, I am using NHibernate (version 1.2.1) for the first time so I wrote a simple test application (an ASP.NET project) that uses it. In my database I have two tables: Persons and Categories. Each person gets one category, seems easy enough. | Persons | | Categories | |--------------| |--------------| | Id (PK) | | Id (PK) | | Firstname | | CategoryName | | Lastname | | CreatedTime | | CategoryId | | UpdatedTime | | CreatedTime | | Deleted | | UpdatedTime | | Deleted | The Id, CreatedTime, UpdatedTime and Deleted attributes are a convention I use in all my tables, so I have tried to bring this fact into an additional abstraction layer. I have a project DatabaseFramework which has three important classes: Entity: an abstract class that defines these four properties. All 'entity objects' (in this case Person and Category) must inherit Entity. IEntityManager: a generic interface (type parameter as Entity) that defines methods like Load, Insert, Update, etc. NHibernateEntityManager: an implementation of this interface using NHibernate to do the loading, saving, etc. Now, the Person and Category classes are straightforward, they just define the attributes of the tables of course (keeping in mind that four of them are in the base Entity class). Since the Persons table is related to the Categories table via the CategoryId attribute, the Person class has a Category property that holds the related category. However, in my webpage, I will also need the name of this category (CategoryName), for databinding purposes for example. Now, the idea of this Load method is that I get a fully functional collection of Persons, all their properties set to the correct values (including the Category property, and thus, the CategoryName property should return the correct name). However, it seems that is not the case. When I try to data-bind the result of this Load method to a GridView in ASP.NET, it tells me this: Property accessor 'CategoryName' on object 'NHibernateWebTest.Database.Person' threw the following exception:'Could not initialize proxy - the owning Session was closed.' The exception occurs on the DataBind method call here: public virtual void LoadGrid() { if (this.Grid == null) return; this.Grid.DataSource = this.Manager.Load(); this.Grid.DataBind(); } Well, of course the session is closed, I closed it via the using block. Isn't that the correct approach, should I keep the session open? And for how long? Can I close it after the DataBind method has been run? In each case, I'd really like my Load method to just return a functional collection of items. It seems to me that it is now only getting the Category when it is required (eg, when the GridView wants to read the CategoryName, which wants to read the Category property), but at that time the session is closed. Is that reasoning correct? How do I stop this behavior? Or shouldn't I? And what should I do otherwise? Thanks!

Generating a .CSV with Several Columns - Use a Dictionary?

I am writing a script that looks through my inventory, compares it with a master list of all possible inventory items, and tells me what items I am missing. My goal is a .csv file where the first column contains a unique key integer and then the remaining several columns would have data related to that key. For example, a three row snippet of my end-goal .csv file might look like this: 100001,apple,fruit,medium,12,red 100002,carrot,vegetable,medium,10,orange 100005,radish,vegetable,small,10,red The data for this is being drawn from a couple sources. 1st, a query to an API server gives me a list of keys for items that are in inventory. 2nd, I read in a .csv file into a dict that matches keys with item name for all possible keys. A snippet of the first 5 rows of this .csv file might look like this: 100001,apple 100002,carrot 100003,pear 100004,banana 100005,radish Note how any key in my list of inventory will be found in this two column .csv file that gives all keys and their corresponding item name and this list minus my inventory on hand yields what I'm looking for (which is the inventory I need to get). So far I can get a .csv file that contains just the keys and item names for the items that I don't have in inventory. Give a list of inventory on hand like this: 100003,100004 A snippet of my resulting .csv file looks like this: 100001,apple 100002,carrot 100005,radish This means that I have pear and banana in inventory (so they are not in this .csv file.) To get this I have a function to get an item name when given an item id that looks like this: def getNames(id_to_name, ids): return [id_to_name[id] for id in ids] Then a function which gives a list of keys as integers from my inventory server API call that returns a list and I've run this function like this: invlist = ServerApiCallFunction(AppropriateInfo) A third function takes this invlist as its input and returns a dict of keys (the item id) and names for the items I don't have. It also writes the information of this dict to a .csv file. I am using the set1 - set2 method to do this. I want to expand the data in this output .csv file by adding in additional columns. The data for this would be drawn from another .csv file, a snippet of which would look like this: 100001,fruit,medium,12,red 100002,vegetable,medium,10,orange 100003,fruit,medium,14,green 100004,fruit,medium,12,yellow 100005,vegetable,small,10,red Note how this does not contain the item name (so I have to pull that from a different .csv file that just has the two columns of key and item name) but it does use the same keys. I am looking for a way to bring in this extra information so that my final .csv file will not just tell me the keys (which are item ids) and item names for the items I don't have in stock but it will also have columns for type, size, number, and color. One option I've looked at is the defaultdict piece from collections, but I'm not sure if this is the best way to go about what I want to do. If I did use this method I'm not sure exactly how I'd call it to achieve my desired result. If some other method would be easier I'm certainly willing to try that, too. How can I take my dict of keys and corresponding item names for items that I don't have in inventory and add to it this extra information in such a way that I could output it all to a .csv file? EDIT: As I typed this up it occurred to me that I might make things easier on myself by creating a new single .csv file that would have date in the form key,item name,type,size,number,color (basically just copying in the column for item name into the .csv that already has the other information for each key.) This way I would only need to draw from one .csv file rather than from two. Even if I did this, though, how would I go about making my desired .csv file based on only those keys for items not in inventory?

How to give position zero of spinner a prompt value?

The database is then transferring the data to a spinner which I want to leave position 0 blank so I can add a item to the spinner with no value making it look like a prompt. I have been going at it all day. An Introduction to jQuery Templates

The goal of this blog entry is to provide you with enough information to start working with jQuery Templates. jQuery Templates enable you to display and manipulate data in the browser. For example, you can use jQuery Templates to format and display a set of database records that you have retrieved with an Ajax call. jQuery Templates supports a number of powerful features such as template tags, template composition, and wrapped templates. I’ll concentrate on the features that I think that you will find most useful. In order to focus on the jQuery Templates feature itself, this blog entry is server technology agnostic. All the samples use HTML pages instead of ASP.NET pages. In a future blog entry, I’ll focus on using jQuery Templates with ASP.NET Web Forms and ASP.NET MVC (You can do some pretty powerful things when jQuery Templates are used on the client and ASP.NET is used on the server). Introduction to jQuery Templates The jQuery Templates plugin was developed by the Microsoft ASP.NET team in collaboration with the open-source jQuery team. While working at Microsoft, I wrote the original proposal for jQuery Templates, Dave Reed wrote the original code, and Boris Moore wrote the final code. The jQuery team – especially John Resig – was very involved in each step of the process. Both the jQuery community and ASP.NET communities were very active in providing feedback. jQuery Templates will be included in the jQuery core library (the jQuery.js library) when jQuery 1.5 is released. Until jQuery 1.5 is released, you can download the jQuery Templates plugin from the jQuery Source Code Repository or you can use jQuery Templates directly from the ASP.NET CDN. The documentation for jQuery Templates is already included with the official jQuery documentation at http://api.jQuery.com. The main entry for jQuery templates is located under the topic plugins/templates. A Basic Sample of jQuery Templates Let’s start with a really simple sample of using jQuery Templates. We’ll use the plugin to display a list of books stored in a JavaScript array. First, notice that the page uses both the jQuery 1.4.4 and jQuery Templates libraries. Second, you should notice that the actual template is included in a script tag with a special MIME type: <script id="bookTemplate" type="text/x-jQuery-tmpl"> <div> <img src="BookPictures/${picture}" alt="" /> <h2>${title}</h2> price: ${formatPrice(price)} </div> </script> This template is displayed for each of the books rendered by the template. The template displays a book picture, title, and price. Notice that the SCRIPT tag which wraps the template has a MIME type of text/x-jQuery-tmpl. Why is the template wrapped in a SCRIPT tag and why the strange MIME type? When a browser encounters a SCRIPT tag with an unknown MIME type, it ignores the content of the tag. This is the behavior that you want with a template. You don’t want a browser to attempt to parse the contents of a template because this might cause side effects. For example, the template above includes an <img> tag with a src attribute that points at “BookPictures/${picture}”. You don’t want the browser to attempt to load an image at the URL “BookPictures/${picture}”. Instead, you want to prevent the browser from processing the IMG tag until the ${picture} expression is replaced by with the actual name of an image by the jQuery Templates plugin. If you are not worried about browser side-effects then you can wrap a template inside any HTML tag that you please. For example, the following DIV tag would also work with the jQuery Templates plugin: <div id="bookTemplate" style="display:none"> <div> <h2>${title}</h2> price: ${formatPrice(price)} </div> </div> Notice that the DIV tag includes a style=”display:none” attribute to prevent the template from being displayed until the template is parsed by the jQuery Templates plugin. Third, notice that the expression ${…} is used to display the value of a JavaScript expression within a template. For example, the expression ${title} is used to display the value of the book title property. You can use any JavaScript function that you please within the ${…} expression. For example, in the template above, the book price is formatted with the help of the custom JavaScript formatPrice() function which is defined lower in the page. Fourth, and finally, the template is rendered with the help of the tmpl() method. The following statement selects the bookTemplate and renders an array of books using the bookTemplate. The results are appended to a DIV element named bookContainer by using the standard jQuery appendTo() method. $("#bookTemplate").tmpl(books).appendTo("#bookContainer"); Using Template Tags Within a template, you can use any of the following template tags. {{tmpl}} – Used for template composition. See the section below. {{wrap}} – Used for wrapped templates. See the section below. {{each}} – Used to iterate through a collection. {{if}} – Used to conditionally display template content. {{else}} – Used with {{if}} to conditionally display template content. {{html}} – Used to display the value of an HTML expression without encoding the value. Using ${…} or {{= }} performs HTML encoding automatically. {{= }}-- Used in exactly the same way as ${…}. {{! }} – Used for displaying comments. The contents of a {{!...}} tag are ignored. For example, imagine that you want to display a list of blog entries. Each blog entry could, possibly, have an associated list of categories. You can use $value to display the value of the current template item. In this case, $value is used to display the value of each category in the collection of categories. Template Composition When building a fancy page, you might want to build a template out of multiple templates. In other words, you might want to take advantage of template composition. For example, imagine that you want to display a list of products. Some of the products are being sold at their normal price and some of the products are on sale. In that case, you might want to use two different templates for displaying a product: a productTemplate and a productOnSaleTemplate. Wrapped Templates The {{wrap}} template tag enables you to take a chunk of HTML and transform the HTML into another chunk of HTML (think easy XSLT). When you use the {{wrap}} tag, you work with two templates. The first template contains the HTML being transformed and the second template includes the filter expressions for transforming the HTML. The {{each}} template tag is used to loop through each of the H3 elements from the source template and render a DIV tag that represents a particular tab. The template item html() method is used to filter content from the “source” HTML template. The html() method accepts a jQuery selector for its first parameter. The tabs are retrieved from the source template by using an h3 filter. The second parameter passed to the html() method – the textOnly parameter -- causes the filter to return the inner text of each h3 element. You can learn more about the html() method at the jQuery website (see the section on $item.html()). The tabBody DIV renders the body of the selected tab. Notice that the {{html}} template tag is used to display the tab body so that HTML content in the body won’t be HTML encoded. The html() method is used, once again, to grab all of the DIV elements from the source HTML template. The selectedTabIndex global variable is used to display the contents of the selected tab. Remote Templates A common feature request for jQuery templates is support for remote templates. Developers want to be able to separate templates into different files. Adding support for remote templates requires only a few lines of extra code (Dave Ward has a nice blog entry on this). Maven Error - Expected START_TAG or END_TAG not TEXT

I am setting up a spring mvc web application + hibernate jpa + maven from scratch using Eclipse Indigo. I am stuck in this error when doing a Maven build. I even search the whole project for the text <extension>war</ and mysteriously, there is no text like this in my project. Problem with cometd and jetty 6 / 7

Hi chaps, I'm trying to get started with cometd (http://cometd.org/) and jetty 6 or 7, but I seem to be having problems. I've got an ant script that packages my code up into a war with the cometd 1.1.1 binaries and jetty binaries that are appropriate to the version of jetty I deploy the war to (so 7.1.2.v20100523 binaries when I deploy to jetty 7.1.2.v20100523 and 6.1.24 when I deploy to 6.1.24). PHP upload script

Using this upload script and it was working ok a week ago but when i checked it today it fails. I have checked writ privileges on the folder and it is set to 777 so don't think that is the problem. After fighting with this for a week I have not really gotten anywhere in why it constantly fails in my code, but not in other examples. My code, which while it compiles, will not log into a user that I know has the correct login information. NullPointerException, Collections not storing data?

Hi there, I posted this question earlier but not with the code in its entirety. The coe below also calls to other classes Background and Hydro which I have included at the bottom. I have a Nullpointerexception at the line indicate by asterisks. Which would suggest to me that the Collections are not storing data properly. Although when I check their size they seem correct. This is a bit lengthy but I have provided sufficient details and kept things very clear. Please see if you can help. (I will surely accept answer if it solves my problem) I am sure a person experienced with this can surely help or suggest me to decide the tables structure. About the system:- There are tutors who create classes A tags based search approach is being followed Tag relations are created/edited when new tutors registers/edits profile data and when tutors create classes (this makes tutors and classes searcheable).For simplicity, let us consider only tutor name and class name are the fields which are matched against search keywords. In this example, I am considering - tutor "Sandeepan Nath" has created a class called "first class" tutor "Bob Cratchit" has created a class called "new class" Desired search results- AND logic to be appied on the search keywords and match against class and tutor data(class name + tutor name), in other words, All those classes be shown such that all the search terms are present in the class name or its tutor name. Example to be clear - Searching "first class" returns class with id_wc = 1. Working Searching "Sandeepan class" should also return class with id_wc = 1. Not working in System 2. Problem with profile editing and searching To tell in one sentence, I am facing a conflict between the ease of profile edition (edition of tag relations when tutor profiles are edited) and the ease of search logic. In the beginning, we had one table structure and search was easy but tag edition logic was very clumsy and unmaintainable(Check System 1 in the section below) . So we created separate tag relations tables to make profile edition simpler but search has become difficult. Please dump the tables so that you can run the search query I have given below and see the results. That solves my problem in a nice way. As you can figure out, the reason why it does not work in system 2 is that in system 1, for every class, one additional tag relation linking class and tutor name is present. e.g. for class first class, (records with id_tag_rel 3 and 4) which returns the class on searching with tutor name. So, you see the trade-off between the search and profile edition difficulty with the two systems. How do I overcome both. I have to reach a conclusion soon. So far my reasoning is it is definitely not good from a code maintainability point of view to follow the single tag rel table structure of system one, because in a real system while editing a field like "tutor qualifications", there can be as many records in tag rels table as there are words in qualification of a tutor (one word in a field = one tag relation). Now suppose a tutor has 100 classes. When he edits his qualification, all the tag rel rows corresponding to him are deleted and then as many copies are to be created (as per the new qualification data) as there are classes. This becomes particularly difficult if later more searcheable fields are added. The code cannot be robust. Is the best solution to follow system 2 (edition has to be in one table - no extra work for each and every class) and somehow re-create the all_tag_relations table like system 1 (from the tables tutor_tag_relations and webclasses_tag_relations), creating the extra tutor tag rels for each and every class by a tutor (which is currently missing in system 2's temporary all_tag_relations table). That would be a time consuming logic script. I doubt that table can be recreated without resorting to PHP sript (mysql alone cannot do that). But the problem is that running all this at search time will make search definitely slow. So, how do such systems work? How are such situations handled? I thought about we can run a cron which initiates that PHP script, say every 1 minute and replaces the existing all_tag_relations table as per new tag rels from tutor_tag_relations and webclasses_tag_relations (replaces means creates a new table, deletes the original and renames the new one as all_tag_relations, otherwise search won't work during that period- or is there any better way to that?). Anyway, the result would be that any changes by tutors will reflect in search in the next 1 minute and not immediately. An alternateve would be to initate that PHP script every time a tutor edits his profile. But here again, since many users may edit their profiles concurrently, will the creation of so many tables be a burden and can mysql make the server slow? So in the final result, maybe the first line contains just one <components:Person /> object at the third column, the second line contains two <components:Person /> object at the third column and so on. Use a single freemarker template to display tables of arbitrary pojos

Attention advanced Freemarker gurus: I want to use a single freemarker template to be able to output tables of arbitrary pojos, with the columns to display defined separately than the data. The problem is that I can't figure out how to get a handle to a function on a pojo at runtime, and then have freemarker invoke that function (lambda style). From skimming the docs it seems that Freemarker supports functional programming, but I can't seem to forumulate the proper incantation. I whipped up a simplistic concrete example. I am looking for a way to get a handle to a function and have freemarker invoke it, or perhaps some kind of "evaluate" feature that can take an arbitrary expression as a string and evaluate it at runtime.

VB.NET IF() Coalesce and “Expression Expected” Error

I am trying to use the equivalent of the C# “??” operator in some VB.NET code that I am working in. This StackOverflow article for “Is there a VB.NET equivalent for C#'s ?? operator?” explains the VB.NET IF() statement syntax which is exactly what I am looking for... and I thought I was going to be done pretty quickly and could move on. But after implementing the IF() statement in my code I started to receive this error: Compiler Error Message: BC30201: Expression expected. And no matter how I tried using the “IF()” statement, whenever I tried to visit the aspx page that I was working on I received the same error. This other StackOverflow article Using VB.NET If vs. IIf in binding/rendering expression indicated that the VB.NET IF() operator was not available until VS2008 or .NET Framework 3.5. So I checked the Web Application project properties but it was targeting the .NET Framework 3.5: So I was still not understanding what was going on, but then I noticed the version information in the detailed compiler output of the error page: This happened to be a C# project, but with an ASPX page with inline VB.NET code (yes, it is strange to have that but that is the project I am working on). So even though the project file was targeting the .NET Framework 3.5, the ASPX page was being compiled using the .NET Framework 2.0. But why? Where does this get set? How does ASP.NET know which version of the compiler to use for the inline code? For this I turned to the web.config. Here is the system.codedom/compilers section that was in the web.config for this project: <system.codedom> <compilers> <compiler language="c#;cs;csharp" extension=".cs" warningLevel="4" type="Microsoft.CSharp.CSharpCodeProvider, System, Version=2.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=b77a5c561934e089"> <providerOption name="CompilerVersion" value="v3.5" /> <providerOption name="WarnAsError" value="false" /> </compiler> </compilers> </system.codedom> Keep in mind that this is a C# web application project file but my aspx file has inline VB.NET code. The web.config does not have any information for how to compile for VB.NET so it defaults to .NET 2.0 (instead of 3.5 which is what I need). So the web.config needed to include the VB.NET compiler option. Here it is with both the C# and VB.NET options (I copied the VB.NET config from a new VB.NET Web Application project file). <system.codedom> <compilers> <compiler language="c#;cs;csharp" extension=".cs" warningLevel="4" type="Microsoft.CSharp.CSharpCodeProvider, System, Version=2.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=b77a5c561934e089"> <providerOption name="CompilerVersion" value="v3.5" /> <providerOption name="WarnAsError" value="false" /> </compiler> <compiler language="vb;vbs;visualbasic;vbscript" extension=".vb" warningLevel="4" type="Microsoft.VisualBasic.VBCodeProvider, System, Version=2.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=b77a5c561934e089"> <providerOption name="CompilerVersion" value="v3.5"/> <providerOption name="OptionInfer" value="true"/> <providerOption name="WarnAsError" value="false"/> </compiler> </compilers> </system.codedom> So the inline VB.NET code on my aspx page was being compiled using the .NET Framework 2.0 when it really needed to be compiled with the .NET Framework 3.5 compiler in order to take advantage of the VB.NET IF() coalesce statement. Without the VB.NET web.config compiler option, the default is to compile using the .NET Framework 2.0 and the VB.NET IF() coalesce statement does not exist (at least in the form that I want it in). FYI, there is an older IF statement in VB.NET 2.0 compiler which is why it is giving me the unusual “Expression Expected” error message – see this article for when VB.NET got the new updated version. EDIT (2011-06-20): I had made a wrong assumption in the first version of this blog post. After a little more research and investigation I was able to figure out that the issue was in the web.config and not with the IIS App Pool. Thanks to the comment from James which forced me to look into this again.
