• C# - How to override GetHashCode with Lists in object

  Hi, I am trying to create a "KeySet" to modify UIElement behaviour. The idea is to create a special function if, eg. the user clicks on an element while holding a. Or ctrl+a. My approach so far, first lets create a container for all possible modifiers. If I would simply allow a single key, it would be no problem. I could use a simple Dictionary, with Dictionary<Keys, Action> _specialActionList If the dictionary is empty, use the default action. If there are entries, check what action to use depending on current pressed keys And if I wasn't greedy, that would be it... Now of course, I want more. I want to allow multiple keys or modifiers. So I created a wrapper class, wich can be used as Key to my dictionary. There is an obvious problem when using a more complex class. Currently two different instances would create two different key, and thereby he would never find my function (see code to understand, really obvious) Now I checked this post: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/638761/c-gethashcode-override-of-object-containing-generic-array which helped a little. But my question is, is my basic design for the class ok. Should I use a hashset to store the modifier and normal keyboardkeys (instead of Lists). And If so, how would the GetHashCode function look like? I know, its a lot of code to write (boring hash functions), some tips would be sufficient to get me started. Will post tryouts here... • Checkbox has the wrong values

  I have a page with several checkboxes on it, along with a dropdownlist of users. The checkboxes correlate to the user's permissions so each user is different. When a different user is chosen, the check boxes should change to match that user's permissions. The codebehind is correct, I stepped through it and the checkbox.checked value is being assigned to the box with the correct value to match the user. chk.Checked = viewable; No matter what I assign to the checked property the value stays the same as the very first submittal. I tried chk.EnableViewState = false; but that did not help. I am sure it is dot net trying to be helpful (grrr). Thank you for your help. There is no databinding per se. I will be saving the values from the textboxes via xmlhttp when the user clicks on them. I never want the check boxes to fill with values other than what I give them.   What would be the best solution for adding/editing multiple sub-types. E.g a super-type class Contact with sub-type class Client and sub-type class Supplier. The way shown here works, but when you edit a Contact you get both inlines i.e. sub-type Client AND sub-type Supplier. So even if you only want to add a Client you also get the fields for Supplier of vice versa. If you add a third sub-type , you get three sub-type field groups, while you actually only want one sub-type group, in the mentioned example: Client.   How to stop blanking screen although I am active on Ubuntu Karmic on old IBM Laptop 600E? After some time of working on the machine the screen goes blank. When I hit ESC on the built-in keyboard (not on the attached USB keyboard where I work) it comes back and everything works fine until the next screen-blanking. I suspect it is some power management issue. When I use an old keyboard that has a ps2 connector it does not happen. So my guess is that the usb keyboard does not update the power management timer that detects when the session was last used? I am using fluxbox window manager. I do not want to disable power management because it is nice that the fan only works at the necessary speed (the fan spped is regulated which I can hear) But I could disable power management for testing purposes.

• WCF via SSL connectivity problems

  Hello, I am hosting a WCF service from inside a Windows service using WAS. When I set the service to listen on 127.0.0.1, I have connectivity from my local machine as well as from my network. However, when I set it to listen on my outbound interface port 443, I can no longer even see the wsdl by connecting with a browser. Strangely, I can connect to the service by using telnet. The cert I am using was generated for my interface by a CA, and I have successfully used this exact cert with this service before. When checking the application log, I see that the service starts without error and is listening on the correct interface. From this information, it seems to me that the config file is in a valid state, but somehow misconfigured for what I want. I have, however, previously deployed this same setup on other sites using this config file. In case it is helpful, below is my config file.   We have a brand new HP MSR 30-10a Router. We have a fairly simple routing situation - we have two IP blocks, one which has a route out. We need things on the first block to go through the router, and out. I have an old Cisco 2801 router doing the job right now. For our example - IP Block 1: 50.203.110.232/29, Router interface on this block is 50.203.110.237, route out is 50.203.110.233. IP Block 2: 50.202.219.1/27, Router interface on this block at 50.202.219.20. I have a static route created for: 0.0.0.0 0.0.0.0 50.203.110.233 The router seems to understand this. When on the CLI via serial cable, I can ping 8.8.8.8 and hear responses from Google DNS. Woo hoo! The issue arrives when any client sits on the IP Block 2 side. I configured my client with a static IP of 50.202.219.15/27, default gateway 50.202.219.20. I can ping myself. I can ping the near side of the router (50.202.219.20), and I can ping the far side of the router (50.203.110.237. I cannot ping anything else in IP block 1, nor can I ping 8.8.8.8. Also, if you use these in your own modules there could be issues when upgrading DNN. Although the upgrade from 5.05 to 5.06 went smoothly for me.
