• How do I POST/GET from rails to API with Nestful?

  Hi, this is a pretty basic question but I'm not entirely clear how to do this. I am trying to use a third-party service that has web-based service. The service is called Postful. But I'm not clear what exactly to do? I've looked at ActiveResource (http://api.rubyonrails.org/classes/ActiveResource/Base.html) and rest-client, but I'm still not clear exactly what steps, code, and files to create. • Get ID in GridView

  Hi, I have One grid say Grid 1 in which there are some columns. There is one view image button, one delete image button and one column which says that color column is Red or Blue. If color column is Red the deleted button is hidden else its shown (Based on user given rights to delete a column or not). Now a user clicks a view button for Red Color Column. If this condition is satisfied, then i want that delete icon should not be present in Grid 2. Grid 2 has 2 columns. One is deleted image button and one is file name (which is uploaded via upload control). So If in Grid One "View Image Button" is clicked for "Red" Column i should be able to hide the delete button from Grid 2. I have tried by writing code in Item command but i am not able to access control of grid2. is this the correct way? Or else suggest me some correct way. Please Make sure that code is compatible with VS 2003. let me know if more inputs are needed. Thanks

Usually you want to use the same event handler for all download items, so it's a bit annoying to have to set the event handlers over and over again for each DownloadItem. • Most efficient way to store list structure in XML

  Starting a new project and was planning on storing all of my web content in XML. I do not have access to a database so this seemed like the next best thing. One thing I'm struggling with is how to structure the XML for links (which will later be transformed using XSLT). It needs to be fairly flexible as well. • How do I use Perl's WWW::Facebook::API to publish to a user's newsfeed?

  We use Facebook Connect on our site in conjunction with the WWW::Facebook::API CPAN module to publish to our users newsfeed when requested by the user. So far we've been able to successfully update the user's status using the following code: use WWW::Facebook::API; my $facebook = WWW::Facebook::API->new( desktop => 0, api_key => $fb_api_key, secret => $fb_secret, session_key => $query->cookie($fb_api_key.'_session_key'), session_expires => $query->cookie($fb_api_key.'_expires'), session_uid => $query->cookie($fb_api_key.'_user') ); my $response = $facebook->stream->publish( message => qq|Test status message|, ); However, when we try to update the code above so we can publish newsfeed stories that include attachments and action links as specified in the Facebook API documentation for Stream.Publish, we have tried about 100 different ways without any success.   I am trying to create JSF 2 pages. When I create pages using facelets template I get message on top that "The project is not configured for Facelets yet. You need to add a Facelets runtime to the project's classpath".   I have a View that extends Activity. A ListView will display a number of listitems. When the user long clicks I would like to present them with a contextmenu allowing them to select edit, delete etc... and then identify the listitem that was selected as the item to perform the action on.   Hello, I am developing an web application that is authenticated using CAS (A single-sign-on solution: http://www.ja-sig.org/wiki/display/CAS/Home). For security reasons, I need two things to work: The communication between CAS and my application needs to be secure My application needs to accept the certification coming with CAS, so that I can guarantee that the CAS responding is the real CAS Server. This is what I got so far: uri = URI.parse("https://www.google.com/accounts") https = Net::HTTP.new(uri.host, uri.port) https.use_ssl = (uri.scheme == 'https') https.verify_mode = (OpenSSL::SSL::VERIFY_PEER) raw_res = https.start do |conn| conn.get("#{uri.path}?#{uri.query}") end This works just great in my Mac OSX. When I try to reach an insecure uri, it raises an exception, and when I try to reach a secure uri, it allow me normally, just like expected. The problem starts when I deploy my application on my Linux server. I tried in both Ubuntu and Red Hat. Independing of what uri I try to reach, it always raises me this exception: OpenSSL::SSL::SSLError: SSL_connect returned=1 errno=0 state=SSLv3 read server certificate B: certificate verify failed from /usr/local/lib/ruby/1.8/net/http.rb:586:in `connect' from /usr/local/lib/ruby/1.8/net/http.rb:586:in `connect' from /usr/local/lib/ruby/1.8/net/http.rb:553:in `do_start' from /usr/local/lib/ruby/1.8/net/http.rb:542:in `start' from (irb):7 I think this have something to do with my installed OpenSSL package, but I can't be sure. This are my installed OpenSSL packages: openssl.x86_64 0.9.8e-12.el5 installed openssl-devel.x86_64 0.9.8e-12.el5 installed I tried using HTTParty as well, but it just ignores the SSL certificated. I hope someone can help me, either by telling me a gem that works the way I need. Thanks.

• deadlock because of foreign key?

  Hello everyone, I am using SQL Server 2008 Enterprise. I met with deadlock in the following store procedure, but because of my fault, I did not record the deadlock graph. But now I can not reproduce deadlock issue. I want to have a postmortem to find the root cause of deadlock to avoid deadlock in the future. The deadlock happens on delete statement. For the delete statement, Param1 is a column of table FooTable, Param1 is a foreign key of another table (refers to another primary key clustered index column of the other table). There is no index on Param1 itself for table FooTable. FooTable has another column which is used as clustered primary key, but not Param1 column. Here is my guess why there is deadlock, and I want to let people review whether my analysis is correct? Since Param1 column has no index, there will be a table scan, and will acquire table level lock, because of foreign key, the delete operation will also need to check master table (e.g. to acquire lock on master table); Some operation on master table acquires master table lock, but want to acquire lock on FooTable; (1) and (2) cause cycle lock which makes deadlock happen. My analysis correct? • Calling ASP.NET Web API using JQuery ajax - cross site scripting issue

  I have a Web API which I am calling using the JQuery ajax function. When I test the service directly (using the Chrome RESTEasy extension) it works fine, however when I call it using the JQuery ajax function I get an error. I'm calling it on port 81: $.ajax({ url: "http://127.0.0.1:81/api/people", data: JSON.stringify(personToCreate), type: "POST", contentType: "application/json;charset=utf-8", statusCode: { 201: function (newPerson) { callback(newPerson); } }, success: function (newPerson) { alert("New person created with an Id of " + newPerson.Id); }, error: function (jqXHR, textStatus, errorThrown) { alert('Error. '+textStatus+'. '+errorThrown); } }); ...but when I trace it using FireBug Lite the response comes from port 82: {"Message":"No HTTP resource was found that matches the request URI 'http://127.0.0.1:82/api/people'.","MessageDetail":"No action was found on the controller 'People' that matches the request."} I think the error is, effectively, due to cross-site scripting being blocked, but I'm not actually cross-site scripting, if you see what I mean. Has anyone else come across this and been able to fix it? The only difference seemes to be that wen called through RESTEasy it is (correctly) using http://127.0.0.1:81 but for some reason when called via JQuery/ajax it seems to be using http://127.0.0.1:82.

When I try to reach an insecure URI, it raises an exception, and when I try to reach a secure URI, it allows me normally, just like expected. The problem starts when I deploy my application on my Linux server. I tried in both Ubuntu and Red Hat. Independent of what URI I try to reach, it always raises this exception: OpenSSL::SSL::SSLError: SSL_connect returned=1 errno=0 state=SSLv3 read server certificate B: certificate verify failed from /usr/local/lib/ruby/1.8/net/http.rb:586:in `connect' from /usr/local/lib/ruby/1.8/net/http.rb:586:in `connect' from /usr/local/lib/ruby/1.8/net/http.rb:553:in `do_start' from /usr/local/lib/ruby/1.8/net/http.rb:542:in `start' from (irb):7 I think this have something to do with my installed OpenSSL package, but I can't be sure. This are my installed OpenSSL packages: openssl.x86_64 0.9.8e-12.el5 installed openssl-devel.x86_64 0.9.8e-12.el5 installed I tried using HTTParty as well, but it just ignores the SSL certificate. I hope someone can help me, or tell me about a gem that works the way I need. Thanks.

Also if you filter your home feed to just Spotify stories (http://graph.facebook.com/me/home?filter=app_174829003346), you'll get a bunch of useless stories without attachments (assuming your friends shared music recently) Anyone have any ideas how to access the playlist details, or is it unavailable to third party developers (if so, this is a very a bad user experience, because the story makes no sense without the attachment). I am able to fetch scrobbles without any trouble using the user_actions.listens. Also, if there is a recent activity story, e.g. "Peter listened to The Shins", I am able to get information about the band. The problem only happens on attachments.

• Authorization and Jquery dialog problem.

  Hi, I have a little problem with a Jquery dialog for an action that requires a role. In my example, the user can click on a delete button and must confirm the action. In my controller, the Delete action requires a role, if the user is in the required role, the object is deleted. The problem: How to alert the user if * the element was deleted (redirect to the Index view) * there was an error (alert with the message) * he doesn't have the rights to delete (alert with the message) Before using the authorize filter, the delete action returned a JSON with a Boolean that indicates if there was an error, an URL to redirect on success and a message to alert on error. As I can't return a JSON from my filter, I created an other method with the authorize filter that returns a partial view with the confirm content. If the user doesn't have the rights, the filter returns a partial view with an unauthorized exception content. The problem: How to distinct which partial view was returned. When I create the dialog, I need to know for the buttons function. Thanks!

  I'm trying to parse an HTTP GET request to determine if the url contains any of a number of file types. If it does, I want to capture the entire request. There is something I don't understand about ORing. The following regular expression only captures part of it, and only if .flv is the first int the list of ORd values. (I've obscured the urls with spaces because Stackoverflow limits hyperlinks) regex: GET.?(.flv)|(.mp4)|(.avi).? test text: GET http: // foo.server.com/download/0/37/3000016511/.flv?mt=video/xy match output: GET http: // foo.server.com/download/0/37/3000016511/.flv I don't understand why the .*? at the end of the regex isnt callowing it to capture the entire text. If I get rid of the ORing of file types, then it works.
