• Is there a redmine plugin to create multiple issues at once?

  Redmine has a nice batch edit feature, but nothing equivalent for "batch create" (please correct me if I'm wrong!) FogBugz lets you quickly create multiple tickets with the same properties (type, status, assignment, etc.) via a ajax-ified text box at the bottom of any filtered view of tickets. Tickets created this way match the values of the filter (and the filter grouping value - there's a text-box at the bottom of each group). Toodledo has simpler option: it's "Add multiple tasks" feature is a textarea where each line is turned into an item. Is there a redmine plugin out there that adds functionality like either of the above?

So far, I've done the following: Create a new project; an iPhone OS window based app. Go to target info- under packaging, change the wrapper extension from app to framework Go to Action-new build phase - copy headers. Change roles of headers to 'public' From my application, I add the framework to the frameworks group.

  I would like to understand database scalability so I've just heard a talk about Habits of Highly Scalable Web Applications http://techportal.ibuildings.com/2010/03/02/habits-of-highly-scalable-web-applications/ On it, the presenter mainly talk about relational database scalability. I also have read something about MapReduce and Column oriented tables, big tables, hypertable etc... trying to understand which are the most up to date methods to scale web application data. But the second group, to me, is being hard to understand where it fits. It serves as transactional, reliable data store? or not, its just for large access and processing and to handle fine graned operations we will ever need to rely on RDBMSs? Could someone give a comprehensive landscape for those new technologies and how to use it?

When you move your mouse over there small text shows up that says: Napredna pretraga Now, for some reason those letters change color to like yellow for very short period of time in ff 3.5 and to some strange color in safari 4.0.2 for win. In ie8, opera and chrome it works just the way it should, white letters stay white during the animation. • What CPAN module can summarize arbitrary error logs?

  I'm maintaining some website code that will soon dump all its errors and warnings into a log file. In order to make this a bit more pro-active I plan to parse this log file daily, summarize the warnings and errors (i.e. count the occurrence of each specific one and group by either warning/error) and then email this to the devs on the project. This would likely admittedly be rather trivial with a hash and some further fiddling, I wondered if there is a suitable module on CPAN that I could use to do this task. It would either be one that summarizes specifically Perl error/warnings logs or one that summarizes arbitrary text files. Any suggestions?

• wonder about some #define tricks

  Whlie reading codes of my group project, I come across many DEFINEs, and some of them seems strange. To generalize it, please look at the following 2 examples. Example 1: #define SNPRINTF(dst, fmt, arg...) snprintf(dst, sizeof(dst), fmt, ##arg) what does "##" means in this circumstance? I've tried to delete both of them, and write codes like "char buf[1024]; SNPRINTF(buf,"%s,%s","abcd","efg");" which produced the same result. So "##" seems no use and no harm to me. Example 2: #define CLOSE(fd) do { \ if (-1 != (fd)) { \ close(fd); \ (fd) = -1; \ } \ } while (0) Necessary to stuff the inner code to the do{}while(0) statement? what's the use? Thanks!

• Suspended Laptop Cannot Wake Up - Ubuntu

  I've got an ASUS G73JH, and whenever I suspend it or hibernate it, it will not wake up. The screen stays backlight but is black. The fan remains running, however the HDD does not, not disk activity is noticeable (audibly (It's not a SSD)). I can't: Awaken it with the keyboard Awaken it with the mouse Soft power-off by pressing the power button Change virtual screens by pressing Ctrl-Alt-# Restart X by pressing Ctrl-Alt-Backspace I have to hold down the power button and shut it down that way, and this seems a little unreasonable. Is there a place I could look for more detail as to what's causing this? Is there a known quick-fix to this issue? Nothing is logged as happening when the system is in "suspend" mode. • MYSQL Convert rows to columns performance problem

  I am doing a query that converts rows to columns similar to this post but have encountered a performance problem. Here is the query:- SELECT Info.Customer, Answers.Answer, Answers.AnswerDescription, Details.Code1, Details.Code2, Details.Code3 FROM Info LEFT OUTER JOIN Answers ON Info.AnswerID = Answers.AnswerID LEFT OUTER JOIN (SELECT ReferenceNo, MAX(CASE DetailsIndicator WHEN 'cde1' THEN DetailsCode ELSE NULL END ) Code1, MAX(CASE DetailsIndicator WHEN 'cde2' THEN DetailsCode ELSE NULL END ) Code2, MAX(CASE DetailsIndicator WHEN 'cde3' THEN DetailsCode ELSE NULL END ) Code3 FROM DetailsData GROUP BY ReferenceNo) Details ON Info.ReferenceNo = Details.ReferenceNo There are less than 300 rows returned, but the Details table is about 180 thousand rows. The query takes 45 seconds to run and needs to take only a few seconds. When I type show processlist; into MYSQL it is hanging on "Sending Data". Any thoughts as to what the performance problem might be?

• Trying to configure HWIC-3G-HSPA

  I'm trying to configure a couple of Cisco 1941 routes. The are both identical routers. Each as a HWIC-1T (Smart Serial interface) and a HWIC-3G-HSPA 3G interface. These routers are to be sent to remote sites. We have connectivity to one of the sites but if remote site A gors down we lose connectivity to remote site B. The HWIC-1T is the primary WAN interface using frame relay joining the two remote sites We want the HWIC-3G-HSPA to be usable for direct connectivity from head office to remote site B, and also the HWIC-3G-HSPA is do be used for comms between the remote sites when the frame relay is down (happens quite a bit). I initialy tried to do dynamic routing using EIGRP however in my lab setup of laptop - 1941 - 1941 - laptop, I was unable to get end to end connectivity. I later settled on static routing and have got end to end connectivity but only over frame relay, not the HWIC-3G-HSPA. I've tried using kron to ping the local HWIC-3G-HSPA interface (cellular 0/1/0) every minute but that hasn't been successful. Manually pinging the IP assigned (by the telco) to ce0/1/0 does bring the interface up. Any ideas? Thanks

((More Information)) it is Windows form application. the way i move the labels is as follows : the news items from RSS feeds are represented in a group of linklabels. All these linklabels are added to a flowlayout container. The timer moves the whole flowlayout container. I found this way according to my knowledge the best way to making the news bar. If you have better idea or solution please help

  The MovieLens data set provides a table with columns: userid | movieid | tag | timestamp I have trouble reproducing the way they pruned the MovieLens data set used in: http://www.cse.ust.hk/~yzhen/papers/tagicofi-recsys09-zhen.pdf In 4.1 Data Set of the above paper, it writes "For the tagging information, we only keep those tags which are added on at least 3 distinct movies. As for the users, we only keep those users who used at least 3 distinct tags in their tagging history. For movies, we only keep those movies that are annotated by at least 3 distinct tags." I tried to query the database: select TMP.userid, count(*) as tagnum from (select distinct T.userid as userid, T.tag as tag from tags T) AS TMP group by TMP.userid having tagnum = 3; I got a list of 1760 users who labeled 3 distinct tags. However, some of the tags are not added on at least 3 distinct movies. Any help is appreciated.

Using Solaris RBAC (Role-Based Access Control), one can give a non-root user permissions to execute those commands, but the commands still fail internally. • How to allow users to select their own grouping for a .NET TreeView control

  I am using a treeview to display projects, tasks, time entries, and the people who are working on a project. I would like to allow the user to define a custom grouping (ie. Project->Task->Time Entries or Project->Date (of time entry)->Task->TimeEntry). The relevant groups would be Project, Task, Time Entry, and Person, with some metadata from them. I want to have some modular way to allow a user to specify how they would like to display the information. Does anyone know of a good method by which this can be done? I currently have hard-coded a display which looks like this: Project Task Time Entry Next Project ... My thought is to do something like write methods to display each type and somehow let a user select what order the display would group. Please let me know if I am not being clear enough.

  I'm working on an InfoPath form that's going to be run with InfoPath Forms Services on a SharePoint server. For a number of reasons -- mostly so that the customer can update the form without involving an administrator -- this can't be a form containing .NET code. The form has a repeating group, and we have users who are a bit confused as to how to add and delete items from the repeating section. I've looked all over the Internets, but haven't been able to find a way to do this without adding a code project to the form. Is there any way to write a rule or do something else to make a button that adds an item to a repeating section?

We have a java application which reads the regex from a config file and takes two groups of strings, number of which are specified in the same config. E.g. CustomAction.523274ca945f.dialogLabel=Executing Custom Code... will be matched with (?m)^(?!#)\s*(\S*)\s*=\s*(\S*.*) What I need is to pick the first group "CustomAction.523274ca945f.dialogLabel" and exclude the random string in the middle so I end up with something like "CustomAction.dialogLabel" or "CustomAction..dialogLabel" well any other combination but the random string. For example, to understand the concept of public key encryption, the 'locked mailbox' analogy or similar is often used as an aid: An analogy for public-key encryption is that of a locked mailbox with a mail slot. The mail slot is exposed and accessible to the public; its location (the street address) is in essence the public key. Anyone knowing the street address can go to the door and drop a written message through the slot; however, only the person who possesses the key can open the mailbox and read the message. My question is: What analogies have you used or heard of in your career that have given you that "Eureka" moment with a complex concept? • Advice on e-commerce logging strategy

  I recently inherited an e-commerce app (Java/Struts) that I'm porting to Rails. The thing is, we frequently have to do forensics on orders by poring through the log files, and with the old app's logs (log4j wall of text) it's pretty hard to make sense of the individual orders when several people are placing orders simultaneously. So I'm soliciting advice on a good strategy for logging of these orders, like maybe logging each individual order to its own MongoDB collection based on unique cart ID? Or maybe group them by IP address? Something different entirely? Essentially, what is the best approach for logging of an online store so that it's easy to backtrace each user's interaction with the site?

• WPF Application - Role Management Recommendations

  I have a WPF application with a WCF service layer and a SQL database. I now want to restrict elements of the application so that certain functions are only available to those users with a particular role. For example, you will only be able to navigate to the settings screen if you are an administrator. I would like a user to be a member of 1 or more authorisation groups and each authorisation group to have 1 or more roles associated. A long time ago I used AzMan (Authorisation Manager) to do a similar thing. Does anyone think that there are better approaches? Is AzMan "old news"? Alternatives? Thanks.

• Test iPhone in-app purchases on a different bundle?

  We have a group of beta testers for iPhone app. Recently, we added in-app purchases to the app. Before this, we would send out ad hoc builds to beta testers using a separate bundle ID and name so that they could have the store build and the ad hoc build on their phones. However, it seems like we have to build the ad hoc copy with the same Bundle ID to test in-app purchases, and this means we can't send out a seperate beta copy - our beta file (annoyingly) overwrites the user's store-bought app. Is there any way to test in-app purchases in a different bundle ID? Do I need to set up fake, test in-app purchases for the test build too?

• Is it inmoral to put a captcha on a login form?

  In a recent project I put a captcha test on a login form, in order to stop possible brute force attacks. The inmediate reaction of other coworkers was a request to remove it, saying that it was innapropiate for that purpose, and that it was quite exotic to see a captcha in that place. I've seen captcha images on signup, contact, password recovery forms, etc. So I personally don't see innapropiate to put a captcha also on a place like that. Well, it obviously burns down usability a little bit, but it's a matter of time and getting used to it. With the lack of a captcha test, one would have to put some sort of blacklist / account locking mechanism, which also has some drawbacks. Is it a good choice for you? Am I getting somewhat captcha-aholic and need some sort of group therapy? Thanks in advance.

  Hi to all, first i would like to say i am Newbie in C++. As part of my master thesis i am writing a program in C++ which also get as parameters the variables m and d (both integers). Were d is the power of 2 (this means 2^d elements). Parameter m define the number of possible interactions between one element and the total group (2^d elements). The number of possible interactions is computed as following: \kappa = \sum_{i=0}^m\binom{d}{i} (at present i generate vector of vectors for 2^d x \kappa, but my Prof. would like me to create different statistics to different m's. My first though was to to generate a dynamic array of m arrays of different sizes... Then i though of defining a 3-dim array with the biggest needed 2d array, but also program speed is important (e.g d = 20). i would like to ask for your advice how to define such kind of dynamic array that will also be fast. Ex: villan hero spiderman superman superman I wanted to obtain a sorted list of the tag names in ascending order and the number of times the unique tag appeared in the database. I wrote this code: Ex: SELECT hashtag.tag_name, COUNT( * ) AS number FROM hashtag GROUP BY hashtag.tag_name ORDER BY hashtag.tag_name ASC This yields the correct result: hero - 1 spiderman - 1 superman - 2 villan - 1 How can I obtain the full COUNT of this entire list. The answer should be 4 in this case because there are naturally 4 rows. I can't seem to get a correct COUNT() without the statement failing. Thanks so much for the help! :)

• Seeking References To MSVC 9.0's C++ Standards Compliance

  I "know" (hopefully) that MSVC 9.0 Implements C++ 2003 (ISO/IEC 14882:2003). I am looking for a reference to this fact, and I am also looking for any research that has been done in to how compliant MSVC 9.0 is with that version of the Standard. I have searched for and not been able to find a specific reference from MicroSoft that actually says something to the effect that MSVC implements C++ 2003. Some of the out-of-date documentation says things like "this release achieves roughly 98% compliance" (when referring to MSVC .NET 2003's conformance to C++ 1997). But I want a link to a document from MS that says "MSVC 9.0 implements blah," and another link to an independent group that has tested the conformance of MSVC 9.0. Do you know of any such links?
