  Hi, I want to fire a trigger whenever an insert command is fired.. The trigger will access a pl/sql file which can change anytime.. So the query is, if we design the trigger, how can we make sure this dynamic thing happens.. As during the stored procedure, it is not workingg.. I think - it should work for 1) External Procedures 2) Execute Statement Please correct me, if I am wrong.. I was working on External Procedures but i am not able to find the way to execute the external procedure from here on..   Ok here's the deal I got one table with a bunch of client information. Each client makes up to one purchase a year which is represented by an individual row. there's a column for the year and there's a column the contains a unique identifier for each client. What I need to do is to construct a query that takes last year and this year and shows me which clients were here made a purchase last year but not make a purchase this year. I also need to build a query that shows me which clients did not make a purchase last year and the year before last but did make a purchase this year.

  Hello, I'm making a hit counter. I have a database and I store the IP and $_SERVER['HTTP_USER_AGENT']; of the visitors. Now I need to add a filter, so I can put away the hits, that are made by bots. I found out, that many bots usually keep some common words in the $_SERVER['HTTP_USER_AGENT']; , so I's like to make and array of words, that would keep the bot from displaying in the results.   I have a matrix, IEnumerable<IEnumerable<int>> matrix, for example: { {10,23,16,20,2,4}, {22,13,1,33,21,11 }, {7,19,31,12,6,22}, ... } and another array: int[] arr={ 10, 23, 16, 20} I want to filter the matrix on the condition that I group all rows of the matrix which contain the same number of elements from arr. That is to say the first row in the matrix {10,23,16,20,2,4} has 4 numbers from arr, this array should be grouped with the rest of the rows with 4 numbers from arr. better to use linq, thank you very much!

  Hi guys, thanks in advance for any help on this topic! I'm sure this has a very simply answer, but I can't seem to find it (not sure what to search on!). A standard count / group by query may look like this: SELECT COUNT(`t2`.`name`) FROM `table_1` `t1` LEFT JOIN `table_2` `t2` ON `t1`.`key_id` = `t2`.`key_id` GROUP BY `t1`.`any_col` and this works as expected, returning 0 if no rows are found. So does: SELECT COUNT(`t2`.`name`) FROM `table_1` `t1` LEFT JOIN `table_2` `t2` ON `t1`.`key_id` = `t2`.`key_id` WHERE `t1`.`another_column` = 123 However: SELECT COUNT(`t2`.`name`) FROM `table_1` `t1` LEFT JOIN `table_2` `t2` ON `t1`.`key_id` = `t2`.`key_id` WHERE `t1`.`another_column` = 123 GROUP BY `t1`.`any_col` only works if there is at least one row in table_1 and fails miserably returning an empty result set if there are zero rows. • Changing UITableViewCell height on a grouped cell doesn't look good

  I have a UITableView with 3 sections. In the first section I have 2 grouped cells. I am modifying the first cell to be larger than the second. Though the first cell resizes, it seems to mess up the cell below it. • Normalize database or not? Read only MyISAM table, performance is the main priority (MySQL)

  I'm importing data to a future database that will have one, static MyISAM table (will only be read from). I chose MyISAM because as far as I understand it's faster for my requirements (I'm not very experienced with MySQL / SQL at all). That table will have various columns such as ID, Name, Gender, Phone, Status... and Country, City, Street columns. Now the question is, should I create tables (e.g Country: Country_ID, Country_Name) for the last 3 columns and refer to them in the main table by ID (normalize...[?]), or just store them as VARCHAR in the main table (having duplicates, obviously)? My primary concern is speed - since the table won't be written into, data integrity is not a priority. The only actions will be selecting a specific row or searching for rows that much a certain criteria. Would searching by the Country, City and/or Street columns (and possibly other columns in the same search) be faster if I simply use VARCHAR?

  It's really embarrassing but i stuck on it for two hours of trial and error. I declared an NSString in the interface as: NSString *testString; Then i made a property and synthesized it. I allocate it in viewDidLoad with: testString = [[NSString alloc] initWithFormat:@"thats my value: %i", row]; If i want to get the value of the string in another method it always return (null). So the string is empty, but why? how do i make it accessible for every function inside of one class? So i don't want to make a global var just a "global variable inside the class" It's really confusing because as long as i code i never ran into this problem :( thanks a lot for helping me!

  Hello, I am using nHibernate for db persistence. I have a one-to-many relationship defined between 2 tables. When I query and try to get data, I am getting the correct number of rows from the "many" table, but the rows are duplicates of the first row returned. table1 (one), table2 (many). I create a criteria query to get a certain record from table1. I then expect to get all associated records from table2. ie, table1 holds orders, table2 holds items. I query table1 to get an order which has 4 items. I expect to see each of those 4 items from table2, but all I am seeing is the 1st item repeated 4 times. Does anyone have any idea what might be happening?

• how to sort an existing table in greasemonkey ?

  i'm writing a greasemonkey user.js for a page with a table in it. (table is 100 rows by 18 columns.) now what i want to do is to make it sortable on column. and also have it run in both chrome and firefox. all searches for answers sofar resulted in suggestions to use jquery/dojo or something alike. can i be done without any external code? after all it's just a matter of replacing the row's in a different order, right? or is that a silly thing to say? the thing is that i'm already using dojo for some query needs but since i want it to run in both firefox and chrome, i just copy paste the whole dojo thing in my script.. also, most of the solutions i found sofar seem to be more for use when building a table. not for altering an existing one. any help is appreciated.

  In an application I need to query a Postgres DB where I expect tens or even hundreds of millions of rows in the result set. I might do this query once a day, or even more frequently. The query itself is relatively simple, although may involve a few JOINs. My question is: How smart is Postgres with respect to avoiding having to seek around the disk for each row of the result set? Given the time required for a hard disk seek, this could be extremely expensive. If this isn't an issue, how does Postgres avoid it? How does it know how to lay out data on the disk such that it can be streamed out in an efficient manner in response to this query?

  Hi, I want to implement pagination using JDBC. The actual thing I want to know is "How can i get first 50 and then next 50 records from database for page 1 and 2 respectively" My Query is Select * from data [data table contains 20,000 rows] For page #1 I get 50 records and for page #2 I want to get next 50 records. How can I implement it efficiently in JDBC? I have searched and found that rs.absolute(row) is the way to skip first page records but it takes some amount of time on large result sets and I don't want to bear this amount of time. Also, I don't want to use rownum and limit + offset in query because these are not good to use in query, I dont know why, still I don't want to use it in query. Can anyone help me how to get limited ResultSet for pagination or is there any way JDBC is giving us?

  I have created a application in c# , it reads excel file and after checking some conditions, it select a row to be written in another Excel File. Everything is working fine, but i need to end the file with the DateTime.Now.ToString(). string date = DateTime.Now.ToString(); ExcelWorkSheet2.Cells[newFileRow, 1] = date; When I see the file created, it shows "########" symbol instead of actual date. When I select that cell , it changes to correct date format. What may be going wrong?
