• Getting parameters values blank and null when using custom wsdl in axis2

  Hi All, I am using axis2 for my web services creation. I want to user my own wsdl file instead of using generated wsdl file. When I am placing my own wsdl file in META-INF directory and deploying my web services they are deploying successfully. But the problem is when i try to test these web service using soapui it throwing null pointer exception. • Apache mod_deflate not compressing responses from Adobe BlazeDS

  Hello, I have following setup Apache Box <=> Weblogic Box1 <=> Weblogic Box2 Apache Box : mod_weblogic(weblogic apache plugin), mod_deflate Weblogic Box1 : Weblogic 10.3 Weblogic Portal, Adobe BlazeDS Weblogic Box2 : Weblogic 10.3 SUN Jersey for REST API Apache forwards the request to Box1, where some of the REST requests get forwarded to Box 2 by Adobe BlazeDS. On Apache i have setup mod_deflate and mod_weblogic as follows: <IfModule mod_weblogic.c> WebLogicHost portalappeng.xxx.com WebLogicPort 7001 </IfModule> <Location /Portal> SetHandler weblogic-handler SetOutputFilter DEFLATE </Location> but when i look at the Apache deflate log i only see the jsp responses from Box1 being compressed, but the responses which BlazeDS forwarded to Box 2 are not compressed. Also the .js and .css files which are served from Box1 are not compressed Here are sample from log file, first response came directly from Box1 and got compressed, second and third also from Box1 but not compressed. Fourth one came from Box 2 to Box 1(BlazeDS) and then to Apache, not compressed. What am i missing? • Using ThreadPool.QueueUserWorkItem - thread unexpectedly exits

I wire up event handlers for the OnPutFileError and OnPutFileCompleted events. If I call my PutFile method, and step into this, it gets to the "//if the bucket doesn't exist, create it" line, then exits. No exception, no errors, nothing. It doesn't complete (i've set breakpoints on my event handlers too) - it just exits. If I run the same method without the ThreadPool.QueueUserWorkItem then it runs fine... Am I missing something?

• Using MinHash to find similiarities between 2 images

  I am using MinHash algorithm to find similar images between images. I have run across this post, How can I recognize slightly modified images? which pointed me to MinHash algorithm. Being a bit mathematically challenged, I was using a C# implementation from this blog post, Set Similarity and Min Hash. But while trying to use the implementation, I have run into 2 problems. What value should I set universe value to? When passing image byte array to HashSet, it only contains distinct byte values; thus comparing values from 1 ~ 256. What is this universe in MinHash? And what can I do to improve the C# MinHash implementation? Since HashSet<byte> contains values upto 256, similarity value always come out to 1.   Hi, I keep getting a crash when loading a UITableView. I am trying to use a cell defined in a nib file. I have an IBOutlet defined in the view controller header file: UITableViewCell *jobCell; @property (nonatomic, assign) IBOutlet UITableViewCell *jobCell; This is synthesised in the implementation file. I have a UITableViewCell created in IB and set it's identifier to JobCell. • Persist changes in C

  I am developing a database-like application that stores a a structure containing: struct Dictionary { char *key; char *value; struct Dictionary *next; }; As you can see, I am using a linked list to store information. But the problem begins when the user exits out of the program. I want the information to be stored somewhere. So I was thinking of storing the linked list in a permanent or temporary file using fopen, then, when the user starts the program, retrieve the linked list. Here is the method that prints the linked list to the console: void PrintList() { int count = 0; struct Dictionary *current; current = head; if (current == NULL) { printf("\nThe list is empty!"); return; } printf(" Key \t Value\n"); printf(" ======== \t ========\n"); while (current != NULL) { count++; printf("%d. %s \t %s\n", count, current->key, current->value); current = current->next; } } So I am thinking of modifying this method to print the information through fprintf instead of printf and then the program would just get the infomation from the file. Could someone help me on how I can read and write to this file? What kind of file should it be, temporary or regular? How should I format the file (like I was thinking of just having the key first, then the value, then a newline character)?

The problem is that a lot of code is dealt with on Events that are arriving via threadpool threads (as far as I can tell) so their names are not in relation to any context. However internally it might be that compiler translates 1st approach to the 2nd approach anyway and they will have the same performance. Any suggestions or ideas? I could do profiling like suggested, but I want to understand what is going on compiler level if those to lines of code are the same to the compiler, or compiler will treat it literally. • Converting an integer to a boxed enum type only known at runtime

  Imagine we have an enum: enum Foo { A=1,B=2,C=3 } If the type is known at compile-time, a direct cast can be used to change between the enum-type and the underlying type (usually int): static int GetValue() { return 2; } ... Foo foo = (Foo)GetValue(); // becomes Foo.B And boxing this gives a box of type Foo: object o1 = foo; Console.WriteLine(o1.GetType().Name); // writes Foo (and indeed, you can box as Foo and unbox as int, or box as int and unbox as Foo quite happily) However (the problem); if the enum type is only known at runtime things are... trickier. It is obviously trivial to box it as an int - but can I box it as Foo? (Ideally without using generics and MakeGenericMethod, which would be ugly). Convert.ChangeType throws an exception. ToString and Enum.Parse works, but is horribly inefficient. I could look at the defined values (Enum.GetValues or Type.GetFields), but that is very hard for [Flags], and even without would require getting back to the underlying-type first (which isn't as hard, thankfully). But; is there a more direct to get from a value of the correct underlying-type to a box of the enum-type, where the type is only known at runtime?

• MS Query Analyzer / Management Studio replacement?

  I've been using SQL Server since version 6.5 and I've always been a bit amazed at the fact that the tools seem to be targeted to DBAs rather than developers. I liked the simplicity and speed of the Query Analyzer for example, but hated the built-in editor, which was really no better than a syntax coloring-capable Notepad. Now that we have Management Studio the management part seems a bit better but from a developer standpoint the tools is even worse. Visual Studio's excellent text editor... without a way to customize keyboard bindings!? Don't get me started on how unusable is the tree-based management hierarchy. Why can't I re-root the tree on a list of stored procs for example the way the Enterprise Manager used to allow? Now I have a treeview that needs to be scrolled horizontally, which makes it eminently useless. The SQL server support in Visual Studio is fantastic for working with stored procedures and functions, but it's terrible as a general ad hoc data query tool. I've tried various tools over the years but invariably they seem to focus on the management side and shortchange the developer in me. I just want something with basic admin capabilities, good keyboard support and requisite DDL functionality (ideally something like the Query Analyzer). At this point I'm seriously thinking of using vim+sqlcmd and a console... I'm that desperate :) Those of you who work day in and day out with SQL Server and Visual Studio... do you find the tools to be adequate? Have you ever wished they were better and if you have found something better, could you share please? Thanks!

• I'v installed NetBeans 6.8 on my MacOS X MacBook and the logs say it cannot be run, any ideas?

  I've installed NetBeans 6.8 on my MacBook, and the installation results indicated success. However, every single time I attempt to run the application is shuts down. I monitored the process and noticed the following entries in the console that imply the application cannot be found? 3/19/10 10:20:20 PM [0x0-0x22022].org.netbeans.ide.baseide.200912041610[22168] /Applications/NetBeans/NetBeans 6.8.app/Contents/MacOS/netbeans: line 57: dirname: command not found 3/19/10 10:20:20 PM [0x0-0x22022].org.netbeans.ide.baseide.200912041610[22168] Cannot read cluster file: /../etc/netbeans.clusters 3/19/10 10:20:20 PM com.apple.launchd.peruser.501[77] ([0x0-0x22022].org.netbeans.ide.baseide.200912041610[22168]) Exited with exit code: 1 I started researching how to set the default JDK for use by NetBeans, and found repeated use of the following command line entry; netbeans --jdkhome /System/Library/Frameworks/JavaVM.framework/Versions/1.6.0/Home -- from http://wiki.netbeans.org/JDKVersionAndMacOS When I attempt the command line above, I receive "netbeans command not found". So do I ... 1.) Need to create a command called "netbeans" that points to my install location for NetBeans 6.8? If so how do I do that? 2.) How do I get to the netbeans.conf file for NetBeans 6.8, does one even exist for it? It gets even more interesting, the above happens with Eclipse as well. Yippie.

• Execute code on assembly load

  I'm working on wrapper for some huge unmanaged library. Almost every of it's functions can call some error handler deeply inside. The default error handler writes error to console and calls abort() function. This behavior is undesirable for managed library, so I want to replace the default error handler with my own which will just throw some exception and let program continue normal execution after handling of this exception. The error handler must be changed before any of the wrapped functions will be called. The wrapper library is written in managed c++ with static linkage to wrapped library, so nothing like "a type with hundreds of dll imports" is present. I also can't find a single type which is used by everything inside wrapper library. So I can't solve that problem by defining static constructor in one single type which will execute code I need. I currently see two ways of solving that problem: Define some static method like Library.Initialize() which must be called one time by client before his code will use any part of the wrapper library. Find the most minimal subset of types which is used by every top-level function (I think the size of this subset will be something like 25-50 types) and add static constructors calling Library.Initialize (which will be internal in that scenario) to every of these types. I've read this and this questions, but they didn't helped me. Is there any proper ways of solving that problem? Maybe some nice hacks available?

• how to: dynamically load google ajax api into chrome extension content script

  Hi there, I'm trying to make use of google's ajax apis in a chorme extension's "content script". On a regular html page, I would just do this: <script src="http://www.google.com/jsapi"></script> <script> google.load("language", "1"); </script> But since I'm trying to load the tranlation library dynamically from js code, I've tried: script = document.createElement("script"); script.src = "http://www.google.com/jsapi"; script.type = "text/javascript"; document.getElementsByTagName("head")[0].appendChild(script); google.load('language','1') but the last line throws the following error: Uncaught TypeError: Object # has no method 'load' Funny enough, when i enter the same "google.load('language','1')" in chrome's js console, it works as intended... I've also tried with jquery's .getScript() but the same problem persists... Does anybody have any clue what might be the problem and how it could be solved? Many thanks in advance! Martin

• Background worker not working right

  I have created a background worker to go and run a pretty long task that includes creating more threads which will read from a file of urls and crawl each. I tried following it through debugging and found that the background process ends prematurely for no apparent reason. Is there something wrong in the logic of my code that is causing this. I will try and paste as much as possible to make sense. • Two PickerViews in save View issue?

  I'm trying to have 2 pickerviews in the same view. It works except for two things. If one pickerview has more rows than the other the app crashes when picking an item from the pickerview with more items. Also I created an NSLog for the pickerviews and the console shows that I'm picking two items at once when in fact i'm only dealing with one pickerview. I know it sounds a bit confusing but I'm including all the code. • Web Start Application built on NetBeans Platform doesn't create desktop shortcut & start menu item

  I've created a NetBeans Platform application that is launched using Java Web Start. I built the WAR file using the 'Build JNLP Application'-command in Netbeans. I've added a desktop shortcut and menu item to the JNLP file, but for some reason, these are not created when the application is launched. However, when I go to: Control Panel - Java - Temporary Internet Files - View - Select my application Click 'Install shortcuts to the selected application' the desktop and menu shortcuts are created correctly. Also, in the Java Console, the Shortcut Creation option is set to the following (the default, I presume): Prompt user if hinted Below is a snippet of my JNLP file: <jnlp spec="6.0+" codebase="$$codebase"> <information> <title>${app.title}</title> <vendor>SomeVendor (Pty) Ltd</vendor> <description>Some description</description> <icon href="${app.icon}"/> <shortcut online="true"> <desktop/> <menu submenu="MyApp"/> </shortcut> </information> ... • Eclipse on windows doesnt start

  I usually do all my java development on linux, using fedora package manager setting up a development environment is easy and fast. Now I have to start using windows but I never used it for java development and im having a few difficulties having it setup. So I downloaded and installed thye java 6 JDK (just the standard edition, not the EE) and installed it. Next I downloaded eclipse classic package, which doesnt have an installer, you just unzip it and run it. I had to add the java bin directory to the PATH variable, which I did. But when I start eclipse.exe I get this: http://img02.imagefra.me/img/img02/1/12/12/f_12c33ivd2m_c79c09f.jpg I already made a new environment variable called CLASSPATH and add the d:/java sdk/lib directory to it, but it the same thing. Am I missing something? Thanks. UPDATE: so i wrote the path to the java.exe on the eclipse.ini file (linking to jvm.dll didnt work) and now it just opens a console window for a few seconds and then closes (doesnt output anything). also launching it like: java -jar plugins/org.eclipse.equinox.launcher_1.0.0.v20070208a.jar make the vm work for about 1-2 seconds and then it returns, with no outputs. UPDATE2: i didnt know it was writting a log file, found it and read it and it said i was using GWT x32 libraries on a x64 VM, so i just downloaded an eclipse x64 version and it worked. i still had to use the .ini trick to say where the JVM is installed. thanks a lot for the help.

• ildasm and dynamic exe files

  Hi There, I am trying to create an application can modify properties in IL to create a slightly different executable. E.g Client A runs app and a label on the WinForm label Reads "Client A:". Client B runs the app and Label Says "Client B". Easy I know using config files or resource files but thats not an option for this project. The Main program needs to be able to generate .exe file dynamically based on some form fields entered by user. My solution was to create a standalone executable that contained all the elements which I needed to make dynamic. I then used ildasm to generate the IL and thought that I could use this IL and substitute tags for the elements i wanted to make dynamic. I could then replace those tags at runtime after user filled the form using regex etc. The problem is, the if i re save the IL file generated by ILDASM as an exe and try to run it. I just launches console and does nothing. Am I going about this the wrong way? I didnt want to delve into Reflection as the dynamic .exe is a really simple one and I thought reverse engineering IL with ildasm would be the quickest way. You thoughts and pointers are much appreciated. Tony

• My Rails app is returning HTTP 500 for all its URLs, but nothing shows up in the log file. How can I

  I have a Rails app that is running on a production server with Apache and Phusion Passenger. The app works fine locally when using Mongrel, but whenever I try to load a URL on the production server, it returns HTTP 500. I know the server is working properly, because I can get the static elements of the application (e.g., JavaScript files, stylesheets, images) just fine. I've also checked the Passenger status and it is loading the app (it must be, since the app's 500 Internal Server Error page is returned, not just the default Apache one). Also, when I load the app via script/console production and do something like app.get("/"), 500 is also returned. The problem is that there is nothing in the log files to indicate the problem. production.log is empty. The Apache error logs show no problems with Apache, either. I'm stumped as to what's going on and I'm not sure how to diagnose the problem. I know I may have been a bit vague, but can anyone give a suggestion on what the problem may be? Or at least a way I can go about diagnosing it?

  Here it's the story... we have a Github account. I clone the repository ... then I can work with it, commit things, push things, etc ... It's strange, because my command line output tells about that commit hash, so it knows that one is the last one commit in the github system, but my git can not pull it ! Maybe the git protocol used in eGit is incompatible with the console git 1.7.7.3...
