  • How to get a component's parent form in Borland VCL?

    Hi, I'd like to determine which form a given component belongs to in my application. Neither the Parent nor the Owner property can be assumed to be the form itself, so I can't simply use this. I guess I could just go through the Parent property recursively until I arrive at something derived from TForm, but is there a better way to do this? I used the search function, but couldn't find anything specific to my problem. I'm using Borland C++ Builder, by the way (tagged Delphi because a majority of VCL users seem to write in Delphi, and I read Delphi code just fine). Thanks in advance!

I have set the checkbox property as true initially. <Property Id="CHECKBOX_1_PROP" Value="TRUE" /> And show the dialog based on the check box values. If it is true i have to show the Newdoalog_1 if it is false i have to show the Setup dialog INSTALL INSTALL AND CHECKBOX_1_PROP="TRUE" INSTALL INSTALL My Problem is always show the Setup Dialog that is False condition. Pls help on this.

  • Image Preloading in Canvas

    I'm drawing an Image on the canvas using the drawImage function. This is how Im setting the src property of the image: var img = new Image(); // Create new Image object img.src = 'test.php?filename=myfile.jpg' and then oCanvas.width = 600; oCanvas.height = 400; oContext.drawImage(img, 0, 0, 600, 400); The problem is that if the src isn't set then I get the foll error:"uncaught exception: [Exception... "Component returned failure code: 0x80040111 (NS_ERROR_NOT_AVAILABLE) [nsIDOMCanvasRenderingContext2D.drawImage]" . I know I get this error coz the image hasnt finished loading. I added an alert just before the call to drawImage function to let the image finish loading and it seems to work. But it's a pain in the neck. How do I check if the image has finished loading? BTW I have to set the src property by calling a php file.

If CSS class is assigning CSS to element can't we read its value in JS ? Does this mean that if we are not assigning property directly to the element we cant get it if in case its inheriting it ?

    When I am getting at an attribute onclick of custom(Reporting Services) checkbox it gives me correct result. However when I am trying to use indexOf on that result it says "Object doesn't support this property or method", i.e. this is fine, gives me a long string $('input[id*=CustomCheckBox]').click(function() { alert( $(this).attr("onclick") ); }); But this gives an error(object doesn't support this property or method): $('input[id*=CustomCheckBox]').click(function() { if ($(this).attr("onclick").indexOf("SomeString") > -1 ) { //do some processing here } } What would I need to modify so that indexOf is working properly?

    Hello. I have a folder on a server which is shared with guest access enabled. I want to be able to copy a file from that folder to a local machine with Applescript. So far I have: property source : "server:sharedfolder:file.ext" property destination : "Macintosh HD:Users:User:Documents:Folder" tell application "Finder" copy file "source" to folder "destination" end tell Which I think should work. But I get the error :Can't set folder source to destination number 10006. Any ideas? Thanks.

    Pre .net I was using MFC, ON_UPDATE_COMMAND_UI, and the CCmdUI class to update the state of my windows UI. From the older MFC/Win32 reference: Typically, menu items and toolbar buttons have more than one state. For example, a menu item is grayed (dimmed) if it is unavailable in the present context. Menu items can also be checked or unchecked. A toolbar button can also be disabled if unavailable, or it can be checked. Who updates the state of these items as program conditions change? Logically, if a menu item generates a command that is handled by, say, a document, it makes sense to have the document update the menu item. The document probably contains the information on which the update is based. If a command has multiple user-interface objects (perhaps a menu item and a toolbar button), both are routed to the same handler function. This encapsulates your user-interface update code for all of the equivalent user-interface objects in a single place. The framework provides a convenient interface for automatically updating user-interface objects. You can choose to do the updating in some other way, but the interface provided is efficient and easy to use. What is the guidance for .net Windows Forms? I am using an Application.Idle handler in the main form but am not sure this is the best way to do this. About the time I put all my UI updates in the Idle event handler my app started to show some performance problems, and I don't have the metrics to track this down yet. Not sure if it's related.

Iam happy! Why not the same happens when i try to do from the browser (i tested in IE6 & Chrome) using javascript:document.getElementById("myInput").type="text" different browsers behave in different way... when i tried javascript:document.getElementById("myInput").value="myNewValue", IE6 changes the value, but chrome doesn't.. Why is this "javascript:" behaving like this ?

  • Entity Framework with 'Get' Stored Procedure that returns Entities

    Hello, I am attempting to execute a stored procedure that returns data with exactly the same columns as that of a table Entity I have in my project. I set the 'Returns a Collection Of' property in the 'Add Function Import' dialog to my entity type. I get a NullReferenceException error when executing the stored procedure and on further digging it seems that it is because the 'EntityKey' property is missing. Is there anything I can do to tell it to ignore those special properties of the Entity? I already have a partial class for that entity with '[ScaffoldColumn(false)]' but that doesn't seem to matter.     I have read several articles and questions on concept of foreign key vs independent relationship when using Entity Framework. And I am still not 100% sure which way to go.... I would prefer not to "pollute" my domain POCOs by having a property that will be used in FK relationship when I already have a property reference to "has a" object. My questions are (looking at you @EFTeam, @Ladislav Mrnka) are there any improvements on this subject in the upcoming Entity Framework v5? are there more advantages if I use FK instead of independent associations (particularly with code first)?

    I am using ASP.NET MVC 3 and I am using FluentValidation to validate my view models. I am just a little concerned that I might not be on the correct track. As far as what I know, model validation should be done on the domain object. Now with MVC you might have multiple view models that are similar that needs validation. What happens if a property from a domain object occurs in more than one view model? Now you are validating the same property twice, and they might not even be in sync. So if I have a User domain object then I would like to do validation on this object. Now what happens if I have UserAViewModel and UserBViewModel, so now it is multiple validations that needs to be done. The scenario above is just an example, so please don't critise on it.

I don't really understand how lucene index documents and don't understand lucene work with which algorithm for indexing ?
