  • Very Strange behavior in custom dataGrid

    - by Markus
    Hi everybody, I asked this question already in a former post, but nobody could answer this question correctly. So I try to post the problem again, to make sure it's not a bug. I have a dataGrid with a custom itemRenderer. Everytime I tab at least two times on the dataGrid, the cell below the one I taped gets selected. This doesn't happen if I uncomment the code in the method saveBackDataGridContent()! The second problem is that if the Line is shorter than the entered text, a horizontalScrollBar will get active, although I set setStyle("horizontalScrollPolicy", "off");... Who can solve that one? CustomRenderer.mxml: <mx:Application xmlns:mx="http://www.adobe.com/2006/mxml" initialize="dataService.send()"> <mx:Script> <![CDATA[ import components.ChoiceRenderer; import mx.rpc.events.ResultEvent; import mx.events.DataGridEvent; private function resultHandler(event:ResultEvent):void { var doc:XML = event.result as XML; testGrid.dataProvider = doc.Records.BackSide; } private function saveBackDataGridContent(event:DataGridEvent):void{ testGrid.dataProvider[event.rowIndex].TextElement = event.currentTarget.itemEditorInstance.text; } ]]> </mx:Script> <mx:HTTPService id="dataService" result="resultHandler(event)" url = "data/example.xml" resultFormat="e4x"/> <mx:DataGrid id="testGrid" editable="true" itemEditEnd="saveBackDataGridContent(event)"> <mx:columns> <mx:DataGridColumn itemRenderer="components.ChoiceRenderer" width="230"/> </mx:columns> </mx:DataGrid> </mx:Application> ChoiceRenderer.as package components { import mx.containers.HBox; import mx.controls.CheckBox; import mx.controls.Label; public class ChoiceRenderer extends HBox { private var correctAnswer:CheckBox; private var choiceLabel:Label; public function ChoiceRenderer() { super(); setStyle("horizontalScrollPolicy", "off"); correctAnswer = new CheckBox; addChild(correctAnswer); choiceLabel = new Label; addChild(choiceLabel); } override public function set data(xmldata:Object):void{ if(xmldata.name() == "BackSide"){ super.data = xmldata.TextElement[0]; choiceLabel.text = xmldata.TextElement[0].toString(); } } } } example.xml <TopContainer> <Records> <BackSide> <TextElement>first</TextElement> </BackSide> <BackSide> <TextElement>second</TextElement> </BackSide> <BackSide> <TextElement>third</TextElement> </BackSide> <BackSide> <TextElement>fourth</TextElement> </BackSide> <BackSide> <TextElement>fifth</TextElement> </BackSide> <BackSide> <TextElement>sixth</TextElement> </BackSide> </Records> Thanks Markus

  • Custom validation works in development but not in unit test

    - by Geolev
I want to validate that at least one of two columns have a value in my model. I found somewhere on the web that I could create a custom validator as follows: # Check for the presence of one or another field: # :validates_presence_of_at_least_one_field :last_name, :company_name - would require either last_name or company_name to be filled in # also works with arrays # :validates_presence_of_at_least_one_field :email, [:name, :address, :city, :state] - would require email or a mailing type address module ActiveRecord module Validations module ClassMethods def validates_presence_of_at_least_one_field(*attr_names) msg = attr_names.collect {|a| a.is_a?(Array) ? " ( #{a.join(", ")} ) " : a.to_s}.join(", ") + "can't all be blank. At least one field must be filled in." configuration = { :on => :save, :message => msg } configuration.update(attr_names.extract_options!) send(validation_method(configuration[:on]), configuration) do |record| found = false attr_names.each do |a| a = [a] unless a.is_a?(Array) found = true a.each do |attr| value = record.respond_to?(attr.to_s) ? record.send(attr.to_s) : record[attr.to_s] found = !value.blank? end break if found end record.errors.add_to_base(configuration[:message]) unless found end end end end end I put this in a file called lib/acs_validator.rb in my project and added "require 'acs_validator'" to my environment.rb. This does exactly what I want. It works perfectly when I manually test it in the development environment but when I write a unit test it breaks my test environment. This is my unit test: require 'test_helper' class CustomerTest < ActiveSupport::TestCase # Replace this with your real tests. test "the truth" do assert true end test "customer not valid" do puts "customer not valid" customer = Customer.new assert !customer.valid? assert customer.errors.invalid?(:subdomain) assert_equal "Company Name and Last Name can't both be blank.", customer.errors.on(:contact_lname) end end This is my model: class Customer < ActiveRecord::Base validates_presence_of :subdomain validates_presence_of_at_least_one_field :customer_company_name, :contact_lname, :message => "Company Name and Last Name can't both be blank." has_one :service_plan end When I run the unit test, I get the following error: DEPRECATION WARNING: Rake tasks in vendor/plugins/admin_data/tasks, vendor/plugins/admin_data/tasks, and vendor/plugins/admin_data/tasks are deprecated. • Django: Can class-based views accept two forms at a time?

    - by Hooman
If I have two forms: class ContactForm(forms.Form): name = forms.CharField() message = forms.CharField(widget=forms.Textarea) class SocialForm(forms.Form): name = forms.CharField() message = forms.CharField(widget=forms.Textarea) and wanted to use a class based view, and send both forms to the template, is that even possible? class TestView(FormView): template_name = 'contact.html' form_class = ContactForm It seems the FormView can only accept one form at a time. In function based view though I can easily send two forms to my template and retrieve the content of both within the request.POST back. variables = {'contact_form':contact_form, 'social_form':social_form } return render(request, 'discussion.html', variables) Is this a limitation of using class based view (generic views)? Many Thanks

  • SEO Metatags in Web Forms and MVC

    - by Mike Clarke
Has anyone got any ideas on where we should be adding our SEO metadata in a Web Forms project? Why I ask is that currently I have two main Masterpages, one is the home page and the other one is every other page, they both have the same metadata that’s just a generic description and set of key words about my site. The problem with that is search engines are only picking up my home page and my own search engine displays the same title and description for all results. The other problem is the site is predominantly dynamic so if you type in a search for beach which is a major categories on the site you get 10000 results that all go to different information but all look like a link to the same page to the user. edit It's live here www.themorningtonpeninsula.com

  • Support same url in different forms

    - by Vikas Gulati
I have seen many websites supporting multiple forms of the same URL. For example consider www.example.com/question1/ OR www.example.com/Question1/ OR www.example.com/QUESTION1/ etc. all lead to one page with say <link rel="canonical" href="http://www.example.com/question1/" > or a 301 redirect to www.example.com/question1/. Does this affect the page rank anyhow or its just for seemless user experience or there is some other reason behind this? Infact even stackoverflow/stackexchange does this. No matter what the text after the id of the question in url they redirect you to the correct question!

  • Looking for a Python UI library comparable with Windows Forms [on hold]

    - by Mitten
I am looking for a Python UI library which I could use to develop a desktop GUI comparable to what can be done with .NET Windows Forms. I have no previous experience programming UI in Python, so I would rather choose (if there is a choice) something simple. The application I am building would be a document oriented - rich texts, lists and grids, I don't expect to use much graphics - mostly formatted texts. Any pointers, and if there is more than one major GUI library available for Python - how could I quickly test them to see which one is a better fit for my needs?

  • Jazz up your web forms using jQuery animation effects

    - by bipinjoshi
In this part I cover how to add jazz to your web forms using jQuery effects. jQuery provides a set of methods that allow you to create animations in your web pages. Collectively these methods are called as Effects. The effects they render include fading in and out, sliding in and out, changing opacity of elements, hiding and showing elements and so on. You can, of course, define custom animations. In this part we will use these effects to develop a tooltip, master-detail listing and progress indicator.http://www.bipinjoshi.net/articles/9b1f4a81-ae07-4859-8ff2-067e5887adbd.aspx

  • Routing in ASP.Net 4.0 Web Forms

    - by nikolaosk
In this blog post I would like to talk about a new ASP.Net 4.0 feature, URL Routing . I know this issue has been explained from various people on the web but I will give my own example. We could implement routing since ASP.Net 3.5 SP1 but it was there primarily to support ASP.Net MVC . Even in that release you could implement rounting in web forms but it was a quite difficult thing to do. However in ASP.Net 4.0 there is an integrated support for routing. It becomes easy to map requests in your site...(read more)

    - by anirudha

  • Custom rails route problem with 2.3.8 and Mongrel

    - by CHsurfer
I have a controller called 'exposures' which I created automatically with the script/generate scaffold call. The scaffold pages work fine. I created a custom action called 'test' in the exposures controller. • Getting ClassCastException with JSF 1.2 Custom Component and BEA 10.3

    - by Tobi
    Im getting a ClassCastException if i use Attributes in my Custom Headline Tag. Without Attributes rendering works fine. Calling <t:headline value="test" /> gives a ClassCastException even before a Method in my HeadlineComponent or HeadlineTag-Class is called. <t:headline /> works fine. I'm using MyFaces-1.2, on BEA 10.3 default.jsp <%@ page language="java" contentType="text/html; charset=ISO-8859-1" pageEncoding="ISO-8859-1"%> <%@ taglib prefix="f" uri="http://java.sun.com/jsf/core"%> <%@ taglib prefix="h" uri="http://java.sun.com/jsf/html"%> <%@ taglib prefix="t" uri="http://www.tobi.de/taglibrary" %> <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.01 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/html4/loose.dtd"> <html> <head> <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=ISO-8859-1"> <title>Tobi Test</title> </head> <body> <f:view> <t:headline value="test" /> </f:view> </body> </html> HeadlineComponent.java package tobi.web.component.headline; import java.io.IOException; import javax.el.ValueExpression; import javax.faces.component.UIOutput; import javax.faces.context.FacesContext; import javax.faces.context.ResponseWriter; public class HeadlineComponent extends UIOutput { private String value; private Integer size; @Override public Object saveState(FacesContext context) { Object values[] = new Object[3]; values[0] = super.saveState(context); values[1] = value; values[2] = size; return ((Object)(values)); } @Override public void restoreState(FacesContext context, Object state) { Object values[] = (Object[])state; super.restoreState(context, values[0]); value = (String)values[1]; size = (Integer)values[2]; } @Override public void encodeBegin(FacesContext context) throws IOException { // Wenn keine Groesse angegeben wurde default 3 String htmlTag = (size == null) ?   • Render custom form / alter existing rendering template at runtime.

    - by Janis Veinbergs
How do I create reusable custom new item form + preferrably, i don't want to tie this form to content type? I want to force render one hidden field (it could be render on the page, but make invisible or render on the page and display) and set field value programmatically (that's why it has to be rendered - to set it's value). Google has tons of information on how to create custom list form with sharepoint designer, but in my case, i don't want sharepoint designer for the advantages you see below. What i'm trying to achieve I want to be able to have a custom newform to create item (i don't want it to be as default). To open this newForm i would use CustomAction in item's ECB menu. In this form, i want to force render one hidden field and set it's value programmatically. I want to open this form from CustomAction ECB (item's context menu), so i don't want to set this as a default New form template for content type. <XmlDocument NamespaceURI="http://schemas.microsoft.com/sharepoint/v3/contenttype/forms"> <FormTemplates xmlns="http://schemas.microsoft.com/sharepoint/v3/contenttype/forms"> <New>ListForm</New> </FormTemplates> </XmlDocument> Idea #1 I could create custom RenderingTemplate and set Content type's new form template to my newly created template. For example, OOTB ListForm rendering template: <SharePoint:RenderingTemplate ID="ListForm" runat="server"> <Template> <SPAN id='part1'> <SharePoint:InformationBar runat="server"/> <wssuc:ToolBar CssClass="ms-formtoolbar" id="toolBarTbltop" RightButtonSeparator="&nbsp;" runat="server"> <Template_RightButtons> <SharePoint:NextPageButton runat="server"/> <SharePoint:SaveButton runat="server"/> <SharePoint:GoBackButton runat="server"/> </Template_RightButtons> </wssuc:ToolBar> <SharePoint:FormToolBar runat="server"/> <TABLE class="ms-formtable" style="margin-top: 8px;" border=0 cellpadding=0 cellspacing=0 width=100%> <SharePoint:ChangeContentType runat="server"/> <SharePoint:FolderFormFields runat="server"/> <SharePoint:ListFieldIterator runat="server" /> <SharePoint:ApprovalStatus runat="server"/> <SharePoint:FormComponent TemplateName="AttachmentRows" runat="server"/> </TABLE> <table cellpadding=0 cellspacing=0 width=100%><tr><td class="ms-formline"><IMG SRC="/_layouts/images/blank.gif" width=1 height=1 alt=""></td></tr></table> <TABLE cellpadding=0 cellspacing=0 width=100% style="padding-top: 7px"><tr><td width=100%> <SharePoint:ItemHiddenVersion runat="server"/> <SharePoint:ParentInformationField runat="server"/> <SharePoint:InitContentType runat="server"/> <wssuc:ToolBar CssClass="ms-formtoolbar" id="toolBarTbl" RightButtonSeparator="&nbsp;" runat="server"> <Template_Buttons> <SharePoint:CreatedModifiedInfo runat="server"/> </Template_Buttons> <Template_RightButtons> <SharePoint:SaveButton runat="server"/> <SharePoint:GoBackButton runat="server"/> </Template_RightButtons> </wssuc:ToolBar> </td></tr></TABLE> </SPAN> <SharePoint:AttachmentUpload runat="server"/> </Template> </SharePoint:RenderingTemplate> I only need such a minor change: <SharePoint:RenderingTemplate ID="NewRelatedListItemTemplate" runat="server"> ... <SharePoint:ListFieldIterator TemplateName="ListItemFormFieldsWithRelatedItems" runat="server" /> .. </SharePoint:RenderingTemplate> <SharePoint:RenderingTemplate ID="ListItemFormFieldsWithRelatedItems" runat="server"> <Template> <Balticovo:ListFieldIteratorExtended IncludeFields="RelatedItems" runat="server"/> </Template> </SharePoint:RenderingTemplate> Advantages over manual (SPD) custom forms In this way form is not "constant/static". If new list fields are added to list or content type afterwards, my custom form will render them (the ListFieldIterator will do it). Idea #2 Could it be that i modify existing RenderingTemplate at runtime? I would take "new forms" template (Named, for example, ListForm or it could be other than default ListForm) with SPControlTemplateManager.GetTemplateByName("ListForm") Find ListIterator control and add property TemplateName="ListItemFormFieldsWithRelatedItems" Render this template and return it? In short, i would like to create RenderingTemplate programmatically, on-the-fly and then use this template to render list's new form. Advantages I get the advantage of Idea 1 + This way i would get a bonus even if Template changes (from ListForm to CompanyCustomListForm) and my custom form won't loose my implemented functionality if i choose to change content type's rendering template later on (i can create other features not trying to rembeer to reimplement this particular stuff or other 3rd party features won't override my functionality if they use custom forms - loose coupling is it?). Now, is this (Idea #2) possible...?

  • Using custom request and custom redirect with Contact Form 7

    - by Scott B
I have several sites that I want to link back to the main site which hosts the contact form (using contact form 7). I would like to capture the request parameter "site-url" on incoming links to the contact form. Then when the user submits the form, I would like to redirect them back to the site specified in the site-url. Any ideas if this is possible with contact form 7? I would also like to add a special field in the contact form which would insert the site-url into the email that i get so that I know which site they were referred from.

  • How to automatically create Word documents which include list fields from a custom SharePoint list?

    - by Marius
Hi, Is it possible to automatically create Word documents which include list fields from a custom SharePoint list? here is the scenario: - custom list (over 100 columns) - Word templates (not sure where is best to store them yet) - Entry Form will provide data for the templates (or partial data, ie Client name, Sales Rep) - a form that will have buttons (ie 'Create Order Form', 'Create PO') the idea is to be able to generate partial populated templates from a custom list with a puch of a button. All solutions are realy appreciated!!! Thanks,

  • Not getting redirection to custom error page using custom errors - ASP.Net

    - by weevie
Here's my Application_OnError event sink in global.asax.vb: Sub Application_OnError(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As EventArgs) Dim innerMostException As Exception = getInnerMostException(Me.Context.Error) If TypeOf innerMostException Is AccessDeniedException Then Security.LogAccessDeniedOccurrence(DirectCast(innerMostException, AccessDeniedException)) Dim fourOhThree As Integer = DirectCast(HttpStatusCode.Forbidden, Integer) Throw New HttpException(fourOhThree, innerMostException.Message, innerMostException) End If End Sub You'll see that if we've got an innermost Exception of type AccessDeniedException we throw a new HTTPExcpetion with a status code of 403 AKA 'forbidden' Here's the relevant web.config entry: <customErrors defaultRedirect="~/Application/ServerError.aspx" mode="On"> <error statusCode="403" redirect="~/Secure/AccessDenied.aspx" /> </customErrors> So what we're expecting is a redirect to the AccessDenied.aspx page. What we get is a redirect to the ServerError.aspx page. We've also tried this: Sub Application_OnError(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As EventArgs) Dim innerMostException As Exception = getInnerMostException(Me.Context.Error) If TypeOf innerMostException Is AccessDeniedException Then Security.LogAccessDeniedOccurrence(DirectCast(innerMostException, AccessDeniedException)) Context.Response.StatusCode = DirectCast(HttpStatusCode.Forbidden, Integer) End If End Sub Which unsuprisingly doesn't work either. Any ideas what we're doing wrong?

  • Getting Started with jqChart for ASP.NET Web Forms

    - by jqChart
Official Site | Samples | Download | Documentation | Forum | Twitter Introduction jqChart takes advantages of HTML5 Canvas to deliver high performance client-side charts and graphs across browsers (IE 6+, Firefox, Chrome, Opera, Safari) and devices, including iOS and Android mobile devices. Some of the key features are: High performance rendering. Animaitons. Scrolling/Zoooming. Support for unlimited number of data series and data points. Support for unlimited number of chart axes. True DateTime Axis. Logarithmic and Reversed axis scale. Large set of chart types - Bar, Column, Pie, Line, Spline, Area, Scatter, Bubble, Radar, Polar. Financial Charts - Stock Chart and Candlestick Chart. The different chart types can be easily combined.  System Requirements Browser Support jqChart supports all major browsers: Internet Explorer - 6+ Firefox Google Chrome Opera Safari jQuery version support jQuery JavaScript framework is required. We recommend using the latest official stable version of the jQuery library. Visual Studio Support jqChart for ASP.NET does not require using Visual Studio. You can use your favourite code editor. Still, the product has been tested with several versions of Visual Studio .NET and you can find the list of supported versions below: Visual Studio 2008 Visual Studio 2010 Visual Studio 2012 ASP.NET Web Forms support Supported version - ASP.NET Web Forms 3.5, 4.0 and 4.5 Installation Download and unzip the contents of the archive to any convenient location. The package contains the following folders: [bin] - Contains the assembly DLLs of the product (JQChart.Web.dll) for WebForms 3.5, 4.0 and 4.5. This is the assembly that you can reference directly in your web project (or better yet, add it to your ToolBox and then drag & drop it from there). [js] - The javascript files of jqChart and jqRangeSlider (and the needed libraries). You need to include them in your ASPX page, in order to gain the client side functionality of the chart. The first file is "jquery-1.5.1.min.js" - this is the official jQuery library. jqChart is built upon jQuery library version 1.4.3. The second file you need is the "excanvas.js" javascript file. It is used from the versions of IE, which dosn't support canvas graphics. The third is the jqChart javascript code itself, located in "jquery.jqChart.min.js". The last one is the jqRangeSlider javascript, located in "jquery.jqRangeSlider.min.js". It is used when the chart zooming is enabled. [css] - Contains the Css files that the jqChart and the jqRangeSlider need. [samples] - Contains some examples that use the jqChart. For full list of samples plese visit - jqChart for ASP.NET Samples. [themes] - Contains the themes shipped with the products. It is used from the jqRangeSlider. Since jqRangeSlider supports jQuery UI Themeroller, any theme compatible with jQuery UI ThemeRoller will work for jqRangeSlider as well. You can download any additional themes directly from jQuery UI's ThemeRoller site available here: http://jqueryui.com/themeroller/ or reference them from Microsoft's / Google's CDN. <link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" media="screen" href="http://ajax.aspnetcdn.com/ajax/jquery.ui/1.8.21/themes/smoothness/jquery-ui.css" /> The final result you will have in an ASPX page containing jqChart would be something similar to that (assuming you have copied the [js] to the Script folder and [css] to Content folder of your ASP.NET site respectively). <%@ Page Language="C#" AutoEventWireup="true" CodeBehind="Default.aspx.cs" Inherits="samples_cs.Default" %> <%@ Register Assembly="JQChart.Web" Namespace="JQChart.Web.UI.WebControls" TagPrefix="jqChart" %> <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd"> <html > <head runat="server"> <title>jqChart ASP.NET Sample</title> <link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" href="~/Content/jquery.jqChart.css" /> <link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" href="~/Content/jquery.jqRangeSlider.css" /> <link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" href="~/Content/themes/smoothness/jquery-ui-1.8.21.css" /> <script src="<% = ResolveUrl("~/Scripts/jquery-1.5.1.min.js") %>" type="text/javascript"></script> <script src="<% = ResolveUrl("~/Scripts/jquery.jqRangeSlider.min.js") %>" type="text/javascript"></script> <script src="<% = ResolveUrl("~/Scripts/jquery.jqChart.min.js") %>" type="text/javascript"></script> <!--[if IE]><script lang="javascript" type="text/javascript" src="<% = ResolveUrl("~/Scripts/excanvas.js") %>"></script><![endif]--> </head> <body> <form id="form1" runat="server"> <asp:ObjectDataSource ID="ObjectDataSource1" runat="server" SelectMethod="GetData" TypeName="SamplesBrowser.Models.ChartData"></asp:ObjectDataSource> <jqChart:Chart ID="Chart1" Width="500px" Height="300px" runat="server" DataSourceID="ObjectDataSource1"> <Title Text="Chart Title"></Title> <Animation Enabled="True" Duration="00:00:01" /> <Axes> <jqChart:CategoryAxis Location="Bottom" ZoomEnabled="true"> </jqChart:CategoryAxis> </Axes> <Series> <jqChart:ColumnSeries XValuesField="Label" YValuesField="Value1" Title="Column"> </jqChart:ColumnSeries> <jqChart:LineSeries XValuesField="Label" YValuesField="Value2" Title="Line"> </jqChart:LineSeries> </Series> </jqChart:Chart> </form> </body> </html>   Official Site | Samples | Download | Documentation | Forum | Twitter
