• loading js files and other dependent js files asynchronously

  I'm looking for a clean way to asynchronously load the following types of javascript files: a "core" js file (hmm, let's just call it, oh i don't know, "jquery!" haha), x number of js files that are dependent on the "core" js file being loaded, and y number of other unrelated js files. I have a couple ideas of how to go about it, but not sure what the best way is. I'd like to avoid loading scripts in the document body. So for example, I want the following 4 javascript files to load asynchronously, appropriately named: /js/my-contact-page-js-functions.js // unrelated/independent script /js/jquery-1.3.2.min.js // the "core" script /js/jquery.color.min.js // dependent on jquery being loaded http://thirdparty.com/js/third-party-tracking-script.js // another unrelated/independent script But this won't work because it's not guaranteed that jQuery is loaded before the color plugin... (Since the color plugin requires that jQuery is loaded first.) The first method I was considering is to just combine the color plugin script with jQuery source into one file.   I am getting nullpointerexception, don't know what actually is causing it.   The following code fetch all data (by clicking a.info link) from a php file "info.php" and prints in the #content div. The problem is that it prints everything from info.php file. Can I possibly select only some part of data from info.php file to load in #content? Could someone please give me a hint as to what I'm doing wrong, & how I should be testing this?

  Hi, I have added in App purchase functionality within my application. We have tested it successfully on iPhone (in sandbox mode). After successfully testing, we sent the application for final testing to tester situated at other country. In strange case, the tester is not able to test in App purchase functionality. He is getting "Invalid Product Id" error. We are giving same build to tester which is working perfectly at our side. The whole application is working perfectly except in app purchase functionality. • VB.net Debug sqldatareader - immediate window

  Scenario is this; I've a sqldatareader query that seems to be returning nothing when I try to convert the sqldatareader to a datatable using datatable.load. So I debug into it, I grab the verbose SQL query before it goes into the sqldatareader, just to make sure it's formatted correctly. I copy and paste this into SQL server to run it and see if it returns anything. It does, one row. I go back to visual studio and let the program continue, I create a datatable and try to load the sqldatareader but it just returns an empty reader. I'm baffled as to what's going on. I'll copy a version of the code (not the exact SQL query I'm using but close) here: Dim cn As New SqlConnection cn.ConnectionString = <connection string details here> cn.Open() Dim sqlQuery As String = "select * from Products where productid = 5" Dim cm As New SqlCommand(sqlQuery, cn) Dim dr As SqlDataReader = cm.ExecuteReader() Dim dt as new DataTable dt.load(dr) dt should have contents but it's empty. If I copy that SQL query into sql server and run it I get a row of results. Any ideas what I'm doing wrong? ######### UPDATE ############ I've now noticed that it seems to be returning one less row than I get with each SQL query. So, if I run the SQL myself and get 1 row then the datatable seems to have 0 rows. If the query returns 4 rows, the datatable has 3!! Very strange, any ideas anyone?

• Why the CCLayer can't use a for loop in draw method??

  I have a CClayer, that have a draw method, every second, it will call the draw method 60 times. But I can see the Testing the loop is keep calling.... Why? thank you.

  I'm writing a program that lets a user: Connect to an (arbitrary) View all of the tables in that database in separate DataGridViews Edit them in the program, generate random data, and see the results Choose to commit those changes or revert So I discovered the DataSet class, which looks like it's capable of holding everything that a database would, and I decided that the best thing to do here would be to load everything into one dataset, let the user edit it, and then save the dataset back to the database. The problem is that the only way I can find to load the database tables is this: set = new DataSet(); DataTable schema = connection.GetOleDbSchemaTable( OleDbSchemaGuid.Tables, new string[] { null, null, null, "TABLE" }); foreach (DataRow row in schema.Rows) { string tableName = row.Field<string>("TABLE_NAME"); DataTable dTable = new DataTable(); new OleDbDataAdapter("SELECT * FROM " + tableName, connection).Fill(dTable); dTable.TableName = tableName; set.Tables.Add(dTable); } while it seems like there should be a simpler way given that datasets appear to be designed for exactly this purpose. The real problem though is when I try saving these things. In order to use the OleDbDataAdapter.Update() method, I'm told that I have to provide valid INSERT queries. Doesn't that kind of negate the whole point of having a class to handle this stuff for me? Anyway, I'm hoping somebody can either explain how to load and save a database into a dataset or maybe give me a better idea of how to do what I'm trying to do. I could always parse the commands together myself, but that doesn't seem like the best solution.

• IPhone app with SSL client certs

  I'm building an iphone app that needs to access a web service over https using client certificates. If I put the client cert (in pkcs12 format) in the app bundle, I'm able to load it into the app and make the https call (largely thanks to stackoverflow.com). However, I need a way to distribute the app without any certs and leave it to the user to provide his own certificate. I thought I would just do that by instructing the user to import the certificate in iphone's profiles (settings-general-profiles), which is what you get by opening a .p12 file in Mail.app and then I would access that item in my app. I would expect that the certificates in profiles are available through the keychain API, but I guess I'm wrong on that. 1) Is there a way to access a certificate that I've already loaded in iphone's profile in my app? 2) What other options I have for loading a user specified certificate in my app? The only thing I can come up with is providing some interface where the user can give an URL to his .p12 cerificate, which I can then load into the app's keychain for later use, but thats not exactly user-friednly. I'm looking for something that would allow the user to put the cert on phone (email it to himself) and then load it in my app.

  I'm trying to compile a very simple wxPython script into an executable by using PyInstaller on Windows Vista. The Python script is nothing but a Hello World in wxPython. I'm trying to get that up and running as a Windows executable before I add any of the features that the program needs to have. But I'm already stuck. I've jumped through some loops in regards to MSVCR90.DLL, MSVCP90.DLL and MSVCPM90.DLL, which I ended up copying from my Visual Studio installation (C:\Program Files\Microsoft Visual Studio 9.0\VC\redist\x86\Microsoft.VC90.CRT). As according to the instructions for PyInstaller, I run: Command: Configure.py Output: I: computing EXE_dependencies I: Finding TCL/TK... I: could not find TCL/TK I: testing for Zlib... I: ... • Is there a way to create a SyndicationFeed from a String?

  Hi, I'm trying to recreate a SyndicationFeed object (System.ServiceModel.Syndication) from XML data that has been stored locally. If I were working with XMLDocument, this would be easy.I'd call LoadXml(string). The SyndicationFeed will only load from an XMLReader. The XMLReader will only take a Stream or another XMLReader or a TextReader. Since XMLDocument will load a string, I've tried to do this as follows (in the form of a Extension Method): public static SyndicationFeed ToSyndicationFeed(this XmlDocument document) { Stream thestream = Stream.Null; XmlWriter thewriter = XmlWriter.Create(thestream); document.WriteTo(thewriter); thewriter.Flush(); XmlReader thereader = XmlReader.Create(thestream); SyndicationFeed thefeed = SyndicationFeed.Load(thereader); return thefeed; } I can't get this to work.   I'm creating a gem that will generate a controller for the Rails app that will use it. It's been a trial and error process for me when trying to test a controller. When testing models, it's been pretty easy, but when testing controllers, ActionController::TestUnit is not included (as described here). I've tried requiring it, and all similar sounding stuff in Rails but it hasn't worked. What would I need to require in the spec_helper to get the test to work? Thanks!

• jQuery ajax link, returned data includes a from that wont submit

  Hi everyone, I have a problem with the returned data from a ajax request. Basically when I click on a link it runs a ajax request to load some html into a div, that part is working fine the problem comes when the data has been loaded. Part of the html loaded is a form, this form works fine if I load the page directly but when it is loaded through ajax into the div it wont submit but the rest of the links in the html work fine. • Jersey / ServletContext and resource loading on startup.

  Hello, I'm kind of new in web development with Java. I am developing a web service and I've chosen REST / Jersey for it. I want to init some stuff on startup of the service and to keep them all along the life of the service. First question : Is the constructor of the Jersey Servlet a good place to do that ? Basically, what I want to do is to load a config.ini file located in my WEB-INF directory. Following this help, I understand I need a ServletContext to load my file as a resource. However, it is not clear to me how to get this ServletContext in a Jersey Servlet, as it is not really an instance of a servlet, but rather a POJO with some annotations. I wanted to try this tip, but the attribute "context" is null in the constructor. I think that Jersey might populate it after the constructor. Right ? So how is the right way to do this ? • Eclipse RCP application launcher not working properly in Arabic

  I have an RCP application which I build using the .product file and PDE. In my product file I create a binary launcher for different applications to provide convenience to the user. It all works fine except when testing in Arabic languages. In Arabic the application starts and it actually shows the Arabic characters that I mocked for testing but, it does not mirror. That said, if I invoke the launcher and pass the -nl switch launcher.exe -nl AR Then it mirrors. Also if I launch from the IDE with the target platform environment set to AR it mirrors too. I am shipping the bidi plugins for jface and swt (along with the NL plugins) and for the platform delta packs... Does anynone know what could be wrong with the laucher?

In my main program I've got this code to deal with the bundle after it's been loaded... id principalClass = [loadedBundle principalClass]; id instance = [[principalClass alloc] init]; [localLabel setStringValue:[instance name]]; NSView *incomingView = [[instance viewController] view]; [localView addSubview:incomingView]; [localView display]; And the principal classes init method in the bundle looks like this... -(id) init { if(self = [super init]){ name = @"My Plugin"; viewController = [[ViewController alloc] initWithNibName:@"View" bundle:nil]; } return self; } View.nib is a nib located in the bundles project. But whenever I load the bundle I get this error... 2010-05-27 09:11:18.423 PluginLoader[45032:a0f] unable to find nib named: View in bundle path: (null) 2010-05-27 09:11:18.424 PluginLoader[45032:a0f] -[NSViewController loadView] could not load the "View" nib. I know I've got everything wired up because the line [label setStringValue:[instance name]]; sets the label text correctly. Plus, if I take all of the clases in the bundle and load them into my main applications project everything works as expect. Any thoughts on how I can correctly reference "View" in my bundle? Thanks!

  Hi, I'm working on a C# Webservice that needs to provide authentication as well as roles and profile management. I need each profile to have a property of type List. The profile section in the web.config looks like this: <profile defaultProvider="MyProfileProvider" enabled="true"> <providers> <remove name="MyProfileProvider"/> <add connectionStringName="MySqlServer" applicationName="MyApp" name="MyProfileProvider" type="System.Web.Profile.SqlProfileProvider" /> </providers> <properties> <add name="Websites" type="System.Collections.Generic.List&lt;String&gt;" serializeAs="Binary"/> </properties> </profile> However, when I start the webservice and try to access that property it returns the following error: System.Configuration.ConfigurationErrorsException: Attempting to load this property's type resulted in the following error: Could not load type 'System.Collections.Generic.List<String>'. (C:\Projects\MyProject\web.config line 58) --- System.Web.HttpException: Could not load type 'System.Collections.Generic.List<String>'. Is there a way to use a generic collection for this purpose?

• Why isn't pyinstaller making me an .exe file?

  I am attempting to follow this guide to make a simple Hello World script into an .exe file. I have Windows Vista with an AMD 64-bit processor I have installed Python 2.6.5 (Windows AMD64 version) I have set the PATH (if that's the right word) so that the command line recognizes Python I have installed UPX (there only seems to be a 32-bit version for Windows) and pasted a copy of upx.exe into the Python26 folder as instructed. I have installed Pywin (Windows AMD 64 Python 2.6 version) I have run Pyinstaller's Configure.py. It gives some error messages but seems to complete. • Getting browser to make an AJAX call ASAP, while page is still loading

  I'm looking for tips on how to get the browser to kick off an AJAX call as soon as possible into processing a web page, ideally before the page is fully downloaded. Here's my approximate motivation: I have a web page that takes, say, 5 seconds to load. It calls a web service that takes, say, 10 seconds to load. If loading the page and calling the web service happened sequentially, the user would have to wait 15 seconds to see all the information. However, if I can get the web service call started before the 5 second page load is complete, then at least some of the work can happened in parallel. Ideally I'd like as much of the work to happen in parallel as possible. My initial theory was that I should place the AJAX-calling javascript as high up as possible in the web page HTML source (being mindful of putting it after the jquery.js include, because I'm making the call using jquery ajax). I'm also being mindful not to wrap the AJAX call in a jquery ready event handler. (I mention this because ready events are popular in a lot of jquery example code.) However, the AJAX call still doesn't seem to get kicked off as early as I'm hoping (at least as judged by the Google Chrome "Timeline" feature), so I'm wondering what other considerations apply. One thing that might potentially be detrimental is that the AJAX call is back to the same web server that's serving the original web page, so I might be in danger of hitting a browser limit on the # of HTTP connections back to that one machine? (The HTML page loads a number of images, css files, etc..)

This function is capable to return testing result such as boolean, integer, unknown type, etc. But among those testing result, there's one caught my eyes : unknown type. After reading gettype, and try to find some reference here, i can not get any. So, the question is what kind of type can be categorized as "unknown type" ? is it possible ? or am i just missing reading something ?

• Test assembly code on a mac

  Hello, A while back I was following some tutorials an assembly. I was running it all on a windows machine, compiling with NASM and then writing the compiled code to a floppy disk, then reboot and try the code. This process was long and time consuming and sadly was not on a mac. When I found out that Xcode for mac installed NASM I immediately tried to compile some code. The code compiled fine. The issue is testing it. On a mac I have no floppy (not like I want to use one) so Im not sure how to test this. I looked in to Q (kju) and found it would only emulate things on an ISO file. So I guess what Im asking is is it possible to install the compiled code on an ISO file for testing? (Note: the code when compiled forms a .bin file) Thanks for any help
