  • What can I do to speed up my HTC Hero?

    When I first got my HTC Hero phone it was very fast. But after a couple of weeks it's become slow. Typically (on any device), I've noticed that this is caused by having too much running at once... Is there a way I can limit the number of applications that are open? I think there's a task manager application in the market, so I'll try this. Does anyone have any further suggestions?

    Hello all I've configured external access to some sharepoint applications, including MySites, using AAM and ISA configuration. Every seems working well, but when using the external access (ie via https), some links are not working because they use the internal name (http://mysite) instead of the FQDN via https (https://mysite.mydomain.fr*) Any hint or suggestion are welcome. *yes, i'm french. =) EDIT : examples of links that are not working : - when clicking on a folder in a library - when clicking on "My links" then "My sharepoint sites" and then clicking on one of the links displayed

  • Deploy EAR with Websphere Application Server wsadmin.bat without losing security role-mapping?

    We're running CI towards our WAS with wsadmin.bat The applications are updated with this command $AdminApp update ${projectName}EAR app {-operation update -update.ignore.new -contents {${artifactsDir}/${projectName}-${buildVersion}.ear}} This causes all the "Security role to user/group mapping"-settings to reset, even though all the other settings are preserved with the -update.ignore.new Anyone know how to fix this?

  • Simple tool to graph memory usage?

    Is there a script that will show memory usage as a graph, for example as a pie-chart, with each process being being a separate slice? I'm not looking for something like Munin to graph memory usage over time, but rather show the memory usage per-process at a single point in time. To make my request even more obscure, it is for a headless server (so no X applications). The simplest way would be to write a PNG file, or possibly an HTML file (which could use Javascript to allow the filtering of processes, changing between graph-types and so on)

  • How to check if Emacs is in GUI mode (and execute `tool-bar-mode` only then)?

    I have this line in my .emacs file: (tool-bar-mode 0) because I hate the toolbars in my GUI emacs (/Applications/Emacs.app/Contents/MacOS/Emacs). But when I start up my other, text-based emacs in the terminal (/opt/local/bin/emacs) it complains about that command: Symbol's function definition is void: tool-bar-mode How can I add an if condition so that it executes the tool-bar-mode command only when I'm in the GUI emacs?   • Mapped drives not showing in first run of Windows Explorer

    We have a couple of users whose mapped drives don't always appear in Windows Explorer when they initially log in. "net use" shows the drives are mapped correctly and they can see them in File Open dialogs in other applications. However they don't appear in Windows Explorer. The current workaround we have is to kill Windows Explorer and then immediately start it again, then they do reliably appear. Any ideas?

  • Drag and Drop File into Application under run as administrator

    Whenever I have an application running (Visual Studio 2008, Notepad, etc.) under "Run as Administrator", I cannot drag and drop files from Windows Explorer into the application. I've tried running Windows Explorer as administrator, but to no avail. Is there a way to get drag and drop to work when my applications are under "Run as Administrator"?

    I couldn't find anything much about this, but I'm interested what are pros and cons (if any) in using /etc/services for in-house software? On my Linux distro (Ubuntu 14.04) at the end of /etc/services is a comment: # Local services hinting that it could be a good thing to do. One thing that comes to mind is that having in-house ports in /etc/services would make serv database a reference point for common knowledge and much better source of default ports for applications throughout the system.

    I'm migrating from libpam-ldap to libpam-ldapd. I'm having some trouble gathering the secondary groups from LDAP. On libpam-ldap, I had this on the /etc/ldap.conf file: nss_schema rfc2307bis nss_base_passwd ou=People,ou=CITIUS,dc=inv,dc=usc,dc=es nss_base_shadow ou=People,ou=CITIUS,dc=inv,dc=usc,dc=es nss_base_group ou=Groups,ou=CITIUS,dc=inv,dc=usc,dc=es nss_map_attribute uniqueMember member The mapping is there because I'm using groupOfNames instead of groupOfUniqueNames LDAP class for groups, so the attribute naming the members is named member instead of uniqueMember. Now, I want to do the same using libpam-ldapd but I can't get it to work. Can I use this backup to restore my dual boot pc back in shape. If the mbr is destroyed/damaged? Can I use this backup to restore my os and applications on the same machine if the machine's hard drive is reformatted?
