• How to uninstall Iphone sdk?

  Hi guys, Here Im getting a problem when Im uninstalling the Iphone sdk through terminal with the command as: sudo /Developer/Library/uninstall-devtools mode=all;; When I used this its displaying the command is not found. • taskmgr.exe 100% CPU Usage

  Hi. I have 2 IBM servers Intel Xeon Dual core with 2gb RAM. the problem is that Taskmanager uses one full core when i open it. The same happens when i copy files in the explorer. OS: Windows 2003 Server Things i tried: Installed all updates They has kaspersky anti virus and they previously had Nod32. All drivers installed OK. All unused devices are disabled in the bios. Reinstalled win 2003 SP2. No conflict in drivers Tried opening via remote desktop and the problem continues. • ESXi and Networking Devices

  I have two intel pro 1000 pt nics. One quad and one dual port. I want to assign all nic ports to a VM. I enabled PCI passthrough on all devices but ESXi will only allow me to add two nic ports until it tells me the maximum number of pci devices have been added. I have also tried setting up a virtual switch but it didn't seem like this would give full access to the nics. What is the best way to setup the nics to the VM has direct access to them? This is for a firewall VM.

• Windows 7 won't boot from raid-1 disks until secondary non-bootable disks are removed

  I have an ASUS X58 motherboard with a Intel ICH10R southbridge raid controller. Bootable raid-1 SATA disks are on channels 4, 5. Secondary raid-1 SATA disks are on channels 0,1. Everything was working OK until one time I removed the secondary disks and booted successfully but after I shut down and reinstalled the secondary disks rebooting fails with a "Please insert proper boot item" error. If I remove the secondary disks and reboot then do a hot-install of the disks after booting completes, then all is OK. Do I have a raid setup problem or is it something I can fix with Disk Manager.

  I want to deploy a new DC + Fileserver using Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1 Standard Edition on a Dell PowerEdge R410 and iSCSI storage for a small business (~30 people). Should I install the system native on the server or use a virt layer? I don't have a budget for virtualization so i gotta go with something free... What's a better working routine, taking snapshots of vm's or taking backups (Acronis/CloneZilla) of systems? If I use a virt system, I need a GUI for some people in the business to reset the system to a earlier state in emergency situations. How to make linux use more descriptive names in the entries? Or: Is there any alternative way to obtain INT information instead of /proc/interrupt? My final goal is to manipulate smp_affinities of the NICs.

• MPMoviePlayerController doesn't implement MPMediaPlayback protocol as advertised?

  I'm trying to use the MPMediaPlayback protocol's currentPlaybackRate() to slow down a video. I'm confused though as the class MPMoviePlayerController states that: You can control most aspects of playback programmatically using the methods and properties of the MPMediaPlayback protocol, to which this class conforms. Except just above in the header here: http://developer.apple.com/iphone/library/documentation/MediaPlayer/Reference/MPMoviePlayerController_Class/MPMoviePlayerController/MPMoviePlayerController.html it doesn't seem to. All I want to do is slow down the playback rate for a video.

• Is a "failed" RAID 5 disk really no good?

  This is my first venture in to setting up RAID on my home system. After installing 3 x 1TB drives in RAID 5, everything was running well for about 10 days. Then, the Intel Rapid Storage Technology software that monitors the disks and RAID on my system, told me that I had a failed drive. I marked the drive as good, and the array rebuilt. Then a day or so later I got a notification again, that the drive failed. I'm just wondering if this drive really is no good or if there is something I can do to get it working again? Or, do I just need to return it to the store where I bought it and get a replacement?

• HDD vanished after wakeup from standby

  In my computer I got two hard drives: One 80GB Intel X25 Postville SSD for the system and a 1,5TB Sata HDD for data. When I put the system into standby, and wake it up again, roundabout 50% of the time the 1,5TB HDD is not found. It just vanished from the system (wreaking havok to all programs running which had open files on it). Even going into the system management and refreshing the drives does not find the lost HDD. There are no messages about this in the event log. After a warm reboot the hdd is found again, just like it should. The system is a Shuttle SP35P2 Pro with 8GB Ram and DualCore CPU, OS is Windows 7 Ultimate. I even set up the OS anew, didn't help. Any ideas what might cause this? How to debug, or maybe even fix it?

  Before I had 25/5 service and the N standard router did just fine. Now it doesn't do the job. Online speedtest reads at 82 so I have the line. But my laptop is getting less than 30 in my room. Can my laptop be connected at once over both bands? And would that let me use the full 70Mb over Wi-Fi?

• HFS for Windows by Paragon BSOD

  Installed HFS for Windows 7 yesterday. Did a reboot. Copied some files from my internal drive to external hfs drive. Did another reboot and rebooted to Mac. Mac worked fine. Then yesterday the battery went dead on my mac and the computer switched off. This morning tried to boot into windows but got a BSOD as soon as I moved my mouse in the login screen. BSOD refeers to an error with service HFSPLUS.SYS Now when I try to boot into mac (pressing alt while restarding) the mac drive isn's shown and I can only boot into Windows 7 Safe Mode. Cannot uninstall HFS for Windows the uninstaller in control panel says: "THE WINDOWS INSTALLER SERVICE COULD NOT BE ACCESSED. THIS CAN OCCUR WHEN WINDOWS INSTALLER IS NOT CORRECTLY INSTALLED". SETUP: Intel Core 2 Duo, P8600 @ 2.40GHZ, 4GB RAM, WINDOWS 7 ULTIMATE 32 BIT

• Increase application performance on Amazon AWS

  I've got a client with an MVC v1 (.NET) application running on a micro instance. On this instance, I've got .NET, IIS 7.5, and MS SQL Server 2008 running to handle the application. The client has reported that it is taking nearly 10 seconds to process each request. Even loading the initial login page takes about that long, then logging in takes that long, etc etc. The currently running instance specs are as follows: 615 MB RAM Intel Xenon CPU E5430 @ 2.66GHz 2.78 GHz 64-Bit Is the memory availability the issue? or is it the processing power? I forsee two options: Change to a larget instance Set up a 2-tier architecture with two micro instances Which of these will give the application better performance? Thanks in advance.

• Mac OS X: network disabled because security breach

  Dear all, I just recieved a message on my Mac OS X system telling me (loosely translated from Dutch): "The network has been temporarily disabled because the network's security was breached." (It's a wireless WPA2-PSK secured network BTW) I looked in the logs of my router (a Zyxel P-2602HW-D1A) only to see a few (outbound) "syn flood TCP ATTACK" logs, but those were from like a week ago, other than that nothing. What tools on Mac OS X do I have to analyse this security breach occurence? Are there some security logs on Mac OS X that I can inspect? What other measurements should I take? And how serious should I take this warning from Mac OS X? System: Macbook Pro Intel Core 2 Duo 2.2 Ghz OS: Mac OS X 10.5.8 Network: wireless WPA2-PSK Relevant software: Parallels Desktop with Windows XP (was open, but stopped at the time) Other systems on my network: Windows XP SP3 desktop (was running at the time) If you need any more info, don't hestitate to ask. • Disable Memory Modules In BIOS for Testing Purposes (Optimize Nehalem/Gulftown Memory Performance)

  I recently acquired an HP Z800 with two Intel Xeon X5650 (Gulftown) 6 core processors. The person that configured the system chose 16GB (8 x 2GB DDR3-1333). I'm assuming this person was unaware these processors have 3 memory channels and to optimize memory performance one should choose memory in multiples of three. Based on this information, I have a question: By entering the BIOS, can I disable the bank on each processor that has the single memory module? If so, will this have any adverse effects or behave differently than physically removing the modules? I ask due to the fact that I prefer to store the extra memory in the system if it truly behaves as if the memory is not even there. Also, I see this as an opportunity to test 12GB vs. 16GB to see if there is a noticeable difference. Note: According to http://www.delltechcenter.com/page/04-08-2009+-+Nehalem+and+Memory+Configurations?t=anon, the current configuration reduces the overall data transfer speed to 1066 and in addition, the memory bandwidth goes down by about 23%.

• Does HP 8530w support Wifi 802.11n?

  According to vendor site HP 8530w supports 802.11n draft mode. My Windows 7 tell me that network card is 5100 ABG and know nothing about N mode (guys from Intel forum mentioned, that 802.11N versions must ended with N letter, e.g. 5100 ABN). Not sure if it matter, but my laptop model id is #FU462EA. How could I check that my Wifi card compliant with 802.11n (I suspect that "draft N" could have two "special" meaning: doesn't work with 802.11n at all or requires special activation of the mode). Any hints are welcome.

• Boot Vista x64 with both ICH8 and ICH10 AHCI support

  I have a situation where I need to boot Windows Vista 64-bit from both a ICH10 and ICH8 AHCI SATA controller. Currently, it is setup to boot from the ICH10, but when I try booting with the ICH8, I get the famed Windows STOP 7B BSOD. How can I add the ICH8 driver so that I can work around this BSOD and boot the system? I have updated to the latest Intel AHCI driver (8.9.0.1023 as of this post) which is supposed to support both chipsets, but I feel I am missing something.
