  • Triggering jquery event when an element appears on screen

    I want to show a fade effect as soon as the element appears on screen. There is a lot of content before this element so if I trigger the efect on document.ready, at certain resolutions the vistors wont´t see it. Is it possible to trigger an event when, after scrolling down, the element becomes visible? I am almost sure I have seen this effect before, but have no idea how to achieve it. Thank you!

All good, when the user clicks to a different tab, I want to read a property, maybe execute a function from within the ajax loaded div.     I have an event handler that needs to do something to one of its children, based on some saved data. So what I'm currently doing is something like this: // Get the ID of 'this' item_id = $(this).attr('id'); // building a selector like $('#item1 .child_3') $('#' + item_id + ' .child_' + spVal).addClass('blah'); But this seems a little cumbersome. I've tried: $(this + ' .child_' + spVal).addClass('blah'); and it doesn't work, which doesn't really surprise me. Is there a better way to do this then the successful way I've outlined above?

I'm trying to reset all of the select boxes in the row to a default value, but having trouble with the syntax, can anyone help? Anyone can help me with why it quit working? And if I need to I can post another question but figured I'd try it here first. Whats a better way of writing the ajax code where it executes once upon loading the page and then every time I click the $("a#next") link afterwards? Right now I just repasted the code outside of the next link and that works, but seems silly to have the same code in two different places like that. Thanks!

A few things to point out is that the title is coming from a variable escape(global_Current_ProductCode) variable=productcode in the case above it is LB30X40ES The height and weight, price and product id used in the second markup must be from the first markup. Note that these change depending on the product loaded. These are not constants. I would guess the first thing to do was to add the thickbox class. Then I am lost as to what to do next. Basically I need to open up an thickbox iframe with the modified markup.
