• Truncate text to fit table cell without wrapping using css or jquery

  I want the text in one of the columns of a table to not wrap, but to just truncate so that it fits within the current size of the table cell. I don't want the table cell to change size, as I need the table to be exactly 100% the width of the container. This is because the table with 100% width is inside of a positioned div with overflow: auto (it's actually inside of a jquery UI.Layout panel). I tried both overflow: hidden and the text still wrapped. My use case is similar to the gmail interface, where an email subject is bolded and the beginning of the message body is shown, but then truncated to fit.

• axis2 web service behave differently when tested with web service client or with local test class

  Hello I need to update a facade to some web service proxy classes to a third party web service, and expose them as a service. This for two reason : to maintain the same interface for all application that need to use the system : actually its migrating and there are a few differences in the third party ws (method names); and to expose a simplified interface. The third party has provided me with a manual and some pregenerated proxy classes to their service (the java file says generated with axis2 1,4) . I've used netbeans 6.8 and the axis2 plugin to create an axis2 service . This service contains the proxy classes and the facade class which instantiate the web service proxy and calls its method; the facade class is exposed as service. I've used axis2 1.4 (at beginnig and later 1.5 ) and tomcat 6.0. The first test i did was to call the facede methods from inside the project itself and it worked. Then i've created a new project with a jax-ws web service client to call my class deployed on axis2. At this point has happened two strange thing : In the axis2 services page has appeared the third party proxy class as if it were a new service (if i try to get the wsdl axis raises an error ). eg. the proxy interface is named WebServiceAPI (_stub is the concrete class) and , after the first call to my service , i find a new "WebServicesAPI1272968932531_1" service inside axis . The call obvoiusly fail i've began to sniff soap messages with wireshark and i've found they differs when using proxy classes direclty from my facade test class by the messages created after being deployed on axis. i've noticed they differs for the presence of the soap header in the failing message. any help would be greatly appreciated : maybe i messed up something, there might be some incompatibilities or version mistakes? below i've added the signature of the third party proxy, its impementation and the different soap messages: /* * WebServicesAPI.java * This file was auto-generated from WSDL * by the Apache Axis2 version: 1.4 Built on : Apr 26, 2008 (06:24:30 EDT) */ package com.ibm.eci.wsapi; • Consume WCF Web Service in Objective-C on an iPhone

  I am having a hard time consuming a very simple (Hello World) WCF web service in my iPhone app. From what I have read, you must manually create the request message then send it to the web service URL. I was able to accomplish this on a .asmx web service, but not with a WCF service. How do I know the correct format of the request SOAP message? The web service I am trying to hit has a format of: http://xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx:PORT/IService1/ (running locally in a VM) I apologize for the lack of information, I am pretty lost. • How to transport an XML fragment in an XML Document

  Hi, I'm using an AJAX system on a web application, and for one of the objects i return, it needs to contain an xml fragment. Unfortunately, being AJAX, i'm sending the values back via XML already. So, at the moment, i have something that looks like this (ignoring the fact the tags arent perfect. <Transport> <Message> <Content><[CDATA...] XML Content in here </Cdata></Content> </Message> </Transport> This has worked pretty well for the last few years, however, now the XML content itself needs to contain its own CDATA tags and its causing me grief because you cannot nest CDATA sections. Is there another way to encode the 'XML Content' internally?

• jQuery Validation plugin: disable validation for specified submit buttons

  I have a form with multiple fields that I'm validating (some with methods added for custom validation) with Jörn Zaeffere's excellent jQuery Validation plugin. How do you circumvent validation with specified submit controls (in other words, fire validation with some submit inputs, but do not fire validation with others)? This would be similar to ValidationGroups with standard ASP.NET validator controls. My situation: It's with ASP.NET WebForms, but you can ignore that if you wish. However, I am using the validation more as a "recommendation": in other words, when the form is submitted, validation fires but instead of a "required" message displaying, a "recommendation" shows that says something along the line of "you missed the following fields.... do you wish to proceed anyways?" At that point in the error container there's another submit button now visible that can be pressed which would ignore the validation and submit anyways. How to circumvent the forms .validate() for this button control and still post? The Buy and Sell a House sample at http://jquery.bassistance.de/validate/demo/multipart/ allows for this in order to hit the previous links, but it does so through creating custom methods and adding it to the validator. I would prefer to not have to create custom methods duplicating functionality already in the validation plugin.   I am using a UIImagePickerController to get a video from the library. I waited for 5 minutes and the message was still there. Is there a way to prevent this? Why I cannot simply take a copy of the move as it is. I do not want any compressing... is there a way to solve this? thanks.

  Hi, I am getting the "javax.net.ssl.SSLException: Received fatal alert: certificate_unknown" error when attempting to send a HTTPS message. I believe the message is due to the endpoint not recognising the sent certificate or is rejecting it. But I want to be doubly sure this is a server issue and not a local client issue before I go barking up the wrong tree with my error analysis. Can you guys please clarify the meaning of this error (google isn't helping much) and whether it is client or endpoint server related. FYI: I am using Websphere Application Server 6.1 Thanks

  I have a custom MembershipProvider and a custom RoleProvider. I created the custom MembershipProvider by creating a SimpleMembershipProvider class which implements the MembershipProvider class. After that I changed my web.config and works. So I used the same approach creating a custom RoleProvider. Now It seems that you can't go new SqlException() so I am not sure how I can throw a exception especially without somehow calling the database(and since it is unit tests it is usually advised not to call the database since it is slow).   Hi there. I'm taking my first steps in to the world of Wicket. I've set up a login form and a logout page. The logout page looks like this: public class LogoutPage extends WebPage { public LogoutPage(final PageParameters pageParams) { getSession().invalidate(); setResponsePage(getApplication().getHomePage()); } } When a user clicks the Logout link they're redirected to the homepage, so far so good. The problem is that when a user tries to click on any of the navigatable Link's they get a "Page Expired" message. I'd like to log the user out gracefully and allow the user to continue to browse the website without receiving the "Page Expired" message. Any help is greatly appreciated. By the way, I've tried to follow the Wicket examples but they seem to be using org.apache.wicket.authentication and I haven't figured out how to make this available to my project (I'm using eclipse and maven2).

  I am trying to create an AppWidget, in which the background color of a TextView changes at random at specified periodic interval. If i remove the above line everything works fine. • Axis/SOAP service styles and interoperability

  There are four "styles" of service in Axis. RPC services use the SOAP RPC conventions, and also the SOAP "section 5" encoding. Document services do not use any encoding (so in particular, you won't see multiref object serialization or SOAP-style arrays on the wire) but DO still do XML<-Java databinding. Wrapped services are just like document services, except that rather than binding the entire SOAP body into one big structure, they "unwrap" it into individual parameters. Message services receive and return arbitrary XML in the SOAP Envelope without any type mapping / data binding. If you want to work with the raw XML of the incoming and outgoing SOAP Envelopes, write a message service. So, if I use anything else except the first option(SOAP RPC Section 5), how does this impact interoperability? If someone says they want a SOAP service (including WSDL), does this mean that SOAP RPC conventions are expected? Can the other three styles still be used when the other end is not implemented with Axis?

  I'm receiving a "Ext.data.DataReader: #realize was called with invalid remote-data" error when I create a new record via a POST request. Although similar to the discussion at this SO conversation, my situation is slightly different: My server returns the pk of the new record and additional information that is to be associated with the new record in the grid. My server returns the following: {'success':true,'message':'Created Quote','data': [{'id':'610'}, {'quoteNumber':'1'}]} Where id is the PK for the record in the mysql database. quoteNumber is a db generated value that needs to be added to the created record.
