• Resizing a container when child's visibility is changed?

  When I set the visible property to false for a child in a container, how can I get the container to resize? In the example bellow, when clicking on "Toggle", "containerB" is hidden, but the main container's scrollable area is not resized. • Changing html content of a div before and after ajax request

  I am trying to change the button "ADD" (in a div) to some text/img as soon as it is clicked. And after the ajax request is processed, in the success block , I want the div to get the button back. I see the ajax request is itself not getting processed. Can someone explain whats my mistake. I just removed the jsfiddle link and pasting the script here to avoid confusion about the dependencies. • Prevent "^C" from being printed when aborting editing current prompt

  When you're editing a prompt in bash, and then press Ctrl-C to abort it, "^C" might get printed where the cursor has been. When you were in the middle of the line, this makes copy'n'pasting more difficult and IIRC it can be configured to not display it (and overwrite parts of the command line). I do not have this problem myself (using zsh, which does not print "^C"), but ran across this in a Konsole bug report.

• Why would my 15" MacBook Pro suddenly ask me to Hard Quit while I was in a browser?

  I was in Firefox looking at a search I had performed in eBay and all of a sudden, the screen grayed out starting from the top down. In the middle of the screen was a box with about 5 different languages saying I had to hard quit my computer. I tried other keys on my computer and nothing was working so I hard quit and restarted. New contacts are added by pressing an appropriate button and they appear as an entry in the list on the form. I try now to add an edit button that will edit existing entries. • WPF validation on Enter Key Up

  I'm trying to validate a UI change when Enter key is pressed. The UI element is a textbox, which is data binded to a string. My problem is that the data binding hasn't updated TestText when Enter key is Up. • Validation problem with a 'JotForm' template

  A client sent me a form template they had created using jotform.com to implement on their wordpress site. The form template is supposed to hide part of the form until the user clicks the 'next' button. At which point a script is supposed to validate all of the input fields the user has presumably filled out and then display the rest of the form. While I have successfully managed to get the form to display the next part of the form when the user clicks 'next', it fails to validate the input fields. Its kind of difficult to explain without a huge block of text so it is probably easier to show you: The original working template that the customer sent me: http://www.loftist.com/jotform/List_Your_Loft.html The problem child: http://www.loftist.com/?page_id=78 If you just click on one of the input fields and then click elsewhere on the page, the input fields successfully return a validation error message and prevent the user from clicking on the 'next' button. However, if you simply click on the next button than the next set of fields get displayed. Any thoughts? What am I doing wrong here? Im convinced this must be a really simple problem but Im not sure what it could be....

• How do I update a NSTableView when its data source has changed?

  I am working along with Cocoa Programming For Mac OS X (a great book). One of the exercises the book gives is to build a simple to-do program. The UI has a table view, a text field to type in a new item and an "Add" button to add the new item to the table. On the back end I have a controller that is the data source and delegate for my NSTableView. The controller also implements an IBAction method called by the "Add" button. It contains a NSMutableArray to hold the to do list items. When the button is clicked, the action method fires correctly and the new string gets added to the mutable array. However, my data source methods are not being called correctly. Here they be: - (NSInteger)numberOfRowsInTableView:(NSTableView *)aTableView { NSLog(@"Calling numberOfRowsInTableView: %d", [todoList count]); return [todoList count]; } - (id)tableView:(NSTableView *)aTableView objectValueForTableColumn:(NSTableColumn *)aTableColumn row:(NSInteger)rowIndex { NSLog(@"Returning %@ to be displayed", [todoList objectAtIndex:rowIndex]); return [todoList objectAtIndex:rowIndex]; } Here is the rub. -numberOfRowsInTableView only gets called when the app first starts, not every time I add something new to the array. -objectValueForTableColumn never gets called at all. I assume this is because Cocoa is smart enough to not call this method when there is nothing to draw. Is there some method I need to call to let the table view know that its data source has changed, and it should redraw itself?

  I have been given a task to: Develop a program where a child will be presented with picture of a fruit (one of five possible fruit) on the screen at the click of a start button. The child will then try to recognise the fruit and write its name in a specified place on the screen. On the click of a check button the name of the fruit written by the child will be checked by your program and if correct will reward the child with a suitable message. If the name presented by the child is not correct, a suitable message should be presented on a red background with the correct name of the fruit included in the message. so far I have managed to create a form with 5 different fruit pictures and a text box below them. a button at the bottom of the form then checks the results and presents a message box to tell them if they have passed or failed. • Silverlight 4: StackPanel doesn't resize, when content gets more narrow

  I am using Silverlight 4 with Blend 4. I have a (horizontal) stackpanel that includes some TextBoxes and a Button. The stackpanel is set to stretch to the size that the content uses. The TextBoxes are on autosize too. When I add text to the Textboxes, the textbox size grows and the stackpanel grows too. So far so good. When I remove text from the textboxes, the textbox size shrinks (as excepted), but the stackpanel size doesn't. Is there any trick to make the stackpanel change size, when the content (textboxes) getting smaller?   I have the following client-side front-end HTML using Jinja2 template engine: {% for record in result %} <textarea name="remark">{{ record.remark }}</textarea> <input type="submit" name="approve" value="Approve" /> {% endfor %} Thus the HTML may show more than 1 set of textarea and submit button. The back-end Python code retrieves a variable number of records from a gql query using the model, and pass this to the Jinja2 template in result. When a submit button is clicked, it triggers the post method to update the record: def post(self): if self.request.get('approve'): updated_remark = self.request.get('remark') record.remark = db.Text(updated_remark) record.put() However, in some instances, the record updated is NOT the one that correspond to the submit button clicked (eg if a user clicks on record 1 submit, record 2 remark gets updated, but not record 1). I gather that this is due to the duplicate attribute name remark. I can possibly use JavaScript/jQuery to generate different attribute names. The question is, how do I code the back-end Python to get the (variable number of) names generated by the JavaScript? Thanks.

• Custom server control disappears from page when UpdatePanel updates

  Hi all. I created a custom asp.net server control. It works fine on a regular asp.net page and as a DOM object inside of the browser. But I've never used the UpdatePanel before and now I'm trying to make sure that this control works there as well. It doesn't. If I add my control to the page outside of an update panel and click some panel's inside button (trigger), everything works fine. But if I place my control inside of update panel and click that button again, the control "disappears" from the page completely. I still can see my control in javascript debugger and the update, meaning that the object itself is still in DOM. It looks like the panel just "hides" the outer div element of my control for some reason. I tried to call panel's Update() method on button click handler, set panel's UpdateMode to both Conditional and Always. All with the same result. How can I fix that? Thank you!

  Hello, Making a new shooter game here in the vein of "Galaga" (my fav shooter game growing up). Ideally, I would like the user to be able to spam the "fire" button without causing the program to crash. How would I tinker this existing code so that a bullet object would spawn on the button press each time, and then despawn after it exits the screen, or collides with an enemy? • I want just the insert query for a temp table.

  Hi..I am using C#.Net and Sql Server ( Windows Application ). I had created a temporary table. When a button is clicked, temporary table (#tmp_emp_details) is created. I am having another button called "insert Values" and also 5 textboxes. The values that are entered in the textbox are used and whenever com.ExecuteNonQuery(); line comes, it throws an error message Invalid object name '#tbl_emp_answer'.. Below is the set of code.. Please give me a solution.
