  Hi there, I´ve got an jpeg image with text on it (badly scanned document), which is hardly readable. I have already played around with the sharpen filters, contrast, levels and the color replacement tool, with decent success. however my question is, what else can be done order to maximize the texts readablity? the picture is also somewhat noisy. Any help on this one would be greatly apreciated, since I absolutely need the images content.

  I need to synchronize about 30GB of git repositories to S3. These repos may contain some very large pack files, on the rough order of 2GB. I know that S3 has recently added support for large objects, and has new APIs that allow the objects to be uploaded as several parallel chunks. Is there a good command-line tool for Linux that allows me to efficiently synchronize large objects with S3 in a fashion similar to s3sync?

  I really want to run MCollective on my fleet of servers however there are a large number of untrusted users on each machine which makes using MCollective not ideal in my eyes. I'm aware that there is some things you can do to take precaution but I'm not familiar enough with ActiveMQ / want something that's a bit more mindful of similar environments to mine outside the box. • Rsync and Lazy mode ?

  Since transferring or copying a file that is being used sometimes causes corruption of the transferred file, can we define a time interval in which Rsync checks each file in a given directory to see if there is a change within that time interval ? Files that are not changed during that interval will be transferred, while those that have changes will not. Can I do that with rsync ? Or another tool ? Is there a script to add this functionality to Rsync ? Thanks

Right now we are able to capture the audio and access the file through wireshark, but we would like to find a way to save the audio to a .wav file (or similar) via the command line.   For a Windows domain, is there a way to see for a certain user or group, where the user/group has permissions? Primarily: List which files / folders the user can access on a certain network share. (Kind of a recursive "effective permissions") However, other permissions would be cool as well. I believe I've seen such a tool in action, but I can't remember anything beyond that - so this might be a false memory. Recommendations?

  Laptop: HP Compaq 6710b I can boot from usb just fine with the following usb flash drives: Cruzer micro 4GB HP 4GB The flash drive that will not boot: Flash Voyager 8GB To knock out variables I did the following: Using Hard Disk Low Level Format Tool I performed a low level format Full erase with Flash Memory Tookit In windows 7 I formated the drive to fat32 Used USB-Boot-Tester to write to the drive Also used uNetbooting with various distros to see if that would make a difference My guesses on what could be preventing the drive from booting: The laptop does not support booting to usb flash drives larger than 4GB The drive is defective in some way

  I just want to move dirs. I looked successively at mv, cp and rsync, since each tool in turn didn't seem to have the option to remove directories from source after copying them. For instance, mv needs files, not dirs, when src and dst are on different devices: "inter-device move failed: src to dst; unable to remove target: Is a directory" Perhaps the simplest way to do this is by using an additional deletion cmd, although I'd prefer not to use it, since that increases risk of data loss.

They both have a free trial of 30 days but they do not seem to explain explicitly what won't be functional after the trial period.
