  • Make staus bar visible without overlapping view

    Hello, I have a tab bar with two views. In the first view the iPhone status bar is hidden using [[UIApplication sharedApplication] setStatusBarHidden:YES animated:YES]. When the second view is loaded, and the status bar is made visible again using [[UIApplication sharedApplication] setStatusBarHidden:NO animated:YES] it overlaps the view. How do I make the status bar visible again without overlapping the second view? Thanks

    Is there a library or good tutorial which covers creating in-app settings, like this: http://img.skitch.com/20090625-s8bf6ahybwe3cesd1id38h3nt.jpg What I would like is if it: doesn't use the built-in Settings app is controlled by a plist file with various Dictionaries and Arrays creates a nice looking table view allows text fields as well as switches and sliders and ticks etc doesn't have any of the annoying problems I've come across when trying to build my own version (not scrolling to show the textfield, cells disappearing) It would appear that the iphone dev world is crying out for such a thing.     The cell in this iPhone TableView definitely has a Detail-Disclosure-Button. When I tap it... shouldn't this code give me access to the button?   • diffstrings.py : how do you specify path arguments?

    I am trying to use diffstrings.py from Three20 on my iPhone project, and I can't find the proper format for the path arguments (as in "Usage: diffstrings.py [options] path1 path2 ..."). For example, when I run the script in my Xcode project directory like this ~/py/diffstrings.py -b it analyzes just the main.m and finds 0 strings to localize, then it diffs against existing fr.lproj and others, and finds that thes contain "obsolete strings". Can anyone post examples of successful comand line invocations of diffstrings.py, for options -b, -d and -m?

  • UIApplicationExitsOnSuspend anything else I'm missing?

    So I know this has been beaten to death but I still can't figure out a solution. I have my UIApplicationExitsOnSuspend set to <true/> in the Info.plist and still both in the simulator as well as on an iPhone 4 device, the app goes into standby instead of terminating? Any ideas of what else could one do to get it to terminate? Perhaps are there methods that I need to remove from the app delegate? Any ideas?

  • zend framework storing sessions in database for iframe use?

    I have a site im running through an iframe in a uiwebview for a native iphone app, the problem is that I guess since the iframe and the html page are on different servers the session will not keep its state. My thought is to store the session data to the database and then just use the stored session data. Is this possible? If so can anyone send me to a guide on how to set up stored sessions with zend framework, I can't seem to find a good example. thanks

    In an iPhone app, how do I keep the software keyboard from obscuring buttons, or UITextView fields in a View? I've got the following layout: View -\ UITextView UIButton ... but, the keyboard obscures the button at the bottom when I'm typing in the UITextView. I tried using the following: View -\ UIScrollView -\ UITextView UIButton ... but, the window does not scroll as expected, so the user has no way of clicking the button. How is this normally handled?

    I am trying to add unit tests to my iPhone project in Xcode. Everything works, its great. Except when I am adding a class.m that uses CGRect (or other structs, CGPoint etc) to the unit test target (under "Compile Sources") - I am getting a compilation error: "'CGRect' undeclared (first use in this function)". I tried messing with my unit test target in various ways, but so far I haven't been able to get past this. What am I missing?

    I am trying to learn iPhone/iOS programming. I have an UIPickerView that should dispay its selected row as soon as it becomes visible (it is contained on a flippSideView). Unfortunately, the flipSideViewController's awakeFromNib is not called. It is too early to call [pickView selectRow ..] from viewWillLoad (the pickView does not exist at that time), and somewhat too late to do it in viewDidAppear. So, how can I make the pickerView display the selected row as soon it becomes visible?
