• Why does Celery work in Python shell, but not in my Django views? (import problem)

  I installed Celery (latest stable version.) I have a directory called /home/myuser/fable/jobs. Inside this directory, I have a file called tasks.py: from celery.decorators import task from celery.task import Task class Submitter(Task): def run(self, post, **kwargs): return "Yes, it works!!!!!!" Inside this directory, I also have a file called celeryconfig.py: BROKER_HOST = "localhost" BROKER_PORT = 5672 BROKER_USER = "abc" BROKER_PASSWORD = "xyz" BROKER_VHOST = "fablemq" CELERY_RESULT_BACKEND = "amqp" CELERY_IMPORTS = ("tasks", ) In my /etc/profile, I have these set as my PYTHONPATH: PYTHONPATH=/home/myuser/fable:/home/myuser/fable/jobs So I run my Celery worker using the console ($ celeryd --loglevel=INFO), and I try it out. I open the Python console and import the tasks. • MooseX::Types declaration issue, tight test case :)

The PERL_TEST_LIBS env var I'm pulling INC paths from only contains paths to the project modules. There are no other modules loaded from these paths. It appears the MooseX::Types definition for Pattern is causing problems, but I'm not sure why. Documentation shows the syntax I am using, but it's possible I'm misusing class_type as there isn't much said about it. Intent is to be able to use Pattern for type checking via MooseX::Params::Validate to verify the argument is a 'Program::Plist::Pl::Program' object. I've found that removing the intervening class Program::Plist::Pl from the equation by directly calling Pattern-new from the tmp18.pl wrapper results in no error, even when the Program::Types Pattern type is imported.

• Moose::Error::Croak error reporting not from perspective of caller.

  I just recently started out on Moose and its a great OO framework not only to use but also to learn new OO concepts. One of the things I wanted to do was to do error reporting from perspective of caller during object creation. I saw that Moose has the module Moose::Error::Croak which tells Moose to override the default error reporting by croak call. I used it but it did not seem to help Moose code - Foo.pm package Foo; use metaclass ( metaclass => 'Moose::Meta::Class', error_class => 'Moose::Error::Croak', ); use Moose; has 'attr1' => ( is => 'rw', isa => 'Str', required => '1', ); no Moose; 1; Moose code - fooser.pl #!/usr/bin/perl use strict; use warnings; use Foo; my $foobj = Foo->new(); This fails with error: Attribute (attr1) is required at /usr/local/lib/perl/5.8.8/Class/MOP/Class.pm line 364 which is terse than the actual stack trace if Moose::Error::Croak is not used. But it does not report it from perspective of caller. • Flex: Create custom stroke on LineSeries?

  You can easily set a stroke on a line series like this: <mx:LineSeries yField="apple"> <mx:lineStroke> <mx:Stroke color="0x6699FF" weight="4" alpha=".8" /> </mx:lineStroke> </mx:LineSeries> This will set alpha for the entire stroke to .8 But I want to be able to set a different alpha on the stoke for each plot based on something in the dataProvider. For example the yField in the lineSeries is "Apple" which is how it knows where to plot for the lineSeries. I want to be able to add something like alphaField which tells it what to set the stroke alpha for each plot. so if my dataProvider was: <result month="Jan-04"> <apple>81768</apple> <alpha>1</alpha> </result> <result month="Feb-04"> <apple>51156</apple> <alpha>1</alpha> </result> <result month="Mar-04"> <apple>51156</apple> <alpha>.5</alpha> </result> And I set alphaField="alpha" then I would have a solid stroke from plot 0 to plot 1 and then a 50% alpha stroke from plot 1 to plot 2. How can I do this??? I am looking in the commitProperties() and updateDisplayList() methods of LineSeries and have no idea what would need to be added/changed to make this? I am pretty sure, this class has to use Graphics.lineTo() to draw each plot, so basically it would need to "get" the current alphaField value somehow, and apply a Graphics.lineStyle() with the correct alpha before drawing each line. Thanks!! UPDATE I have gotten much closer to my answer. When I extend LineRenderer I override updateDisplayList() which calls GraphicsUtilities.drawPolyLine() I extend GraphicsUtilities and override the method drawPolyLine() as this is where the line is actually drawn. I can call lineStyle() in here and change the alpha of the line... I still have 1 thing I cannot figure out, from within the drawPolyLine() method how can I access that data that dictates what the alpha should be? Thanks!!!!

  I've got django-oembed working fine, e.g. a YouTube URL on a line by itself gets transformed to the correct embed code. Then I added a limited TinyMCE text area. Now that URL on a line by itself gets surrounded in opening and closing html p tags. This breaks oembed - now the URL itself is displayed in the template rather than the embed code. Any reliable fixes or workarounds for this problem?

  I'm using Ion Auth and trying to implement the forgotten password feature which relies upon an email being sent from CI. My LAMP server is on a shared cPanel account and uses sendmail. However, I have the ability to over-ride any PHP settings with my own php.ini file in the public_html directory. As per the CodeIgniter 2 documentation for configuring email sending, I have done the following... 1) created a file called located at application/config/email.php 2) email.php contains this code: <?php if ( ! defined('BASEPATH')) exit('No direct script access allowed'); /* | ------------------------------------------------------------------- | EMAIL SENDING SETTINGS | ------------------------------------------------------------------- */ $config['protocol'] = 'sendmail'; /* End of file email.php */ /* Location: ./application/config/email.php */ 3) The in the application/config/ion_auth.php file, I set this value to TRUE $config['use_ci_email'] = TRUE; The email is successfully sent, but I get a variety of PHP Error Warnings on all pages. These appear on all pages, sometimes two or three times in a row: A PHP Error was encountered Severity: Warning Message: date() [function.date]: It is not safe to rely on the system's timezone settings. You are required to use the date.timezone setting or the date_default_timezone_set() function. In case you used any of those methods and you are still getting this warning, you most likely misspelled the timezone identifier. When I remove my config/email.php file AND set Ion Auth's use_ci_email to FALSE, the Error Warnings go away. Where did I go wrong? Just before I hit the submit button, I solved this problem. I'm still going to post this question as a learning experience for others. If nobody solves this after a reasonable amount of time, I'll post the solution.

So i want to reduce as only one line instead of 2 lines.How to do that?

The configuration settings look like this: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8" ?> <configuration> <configSections> <section name="log4net" type="log4net.Config.Log4NetConfigurationSectionHandler, log4net"/> </configSections> <log4net debug="false"> <appender name="RollingLogFileAppender" type="log4net.Appender.RollingFileAppender"> <file value="C:\Logs\sample.log" /> <appendToFile value="true"/> <rollingStyle value="Size"/> <maxSizeRollBackups value="10"/> <maximumFileSize value="10MB"/> <staticLogFileName value="true"/> <layout type="log4net.Layout.PatternLayout"> <conversionPattern value="%-5level %date %logger.%method[line %line] - %message%newline"/> </layout> </appender> <root> <level value="INFO"/> <appender-ref ref="RollingLogFileAppender"/> </root> </log4net> </configuration> I started out by adding this configuration to web.config, but I got an error (VS studio could not find a schema for log4net-"Could not find schema information for the element log4net"). So I followed this link (http://stackoverflow.com/questions/174430/log4net-could-not-find-schema-information-messages) and configured my settings in a separate xml file and added the following line of code in my AssemblyInfo.cs: [assembly: log4net.Config.XmlConfigurator(ConfigFile = "xmlfile.xml", Watch = true)] And in the actual code, I placed this line: public void CreateUser(String username, String password) { try { log.Info("Inside createuser"); //code for creating user } catch(exception e) { log.Info("something happened in create user", e); } } The problem is that the log file is not being created. I can't see anything inside C:\Logs. Can anybody tell me what I'm doing wrong here? Any suggestions/inputs will be very helpful. Thank you all in advance.
