  • How to install msi on remote machine in msbuild without using psexec?

    I have searched all the custom tasks in Extension Pack and Community Tasks and finally found a task called Msi.Istall in SDC Tasks. But the documentation is bad and causes problems. I get errors regarding the properties passed to the installer. How else do i specify the remote machine? Any ideas where I am going wrong? I have also been asked not to use psexec tool or intermediate scripts.. Looking to install directly from msbuild task.

  • Suspended Laptop Cannot Wake Up - Ubuntu

    I've got an ASUS G73JH, and whenever I suspend it or hibernate it, it will not wake up. The screen stays backlight but is black. The fan remains running, however the HDD does not, not disk activity is noticeable (audibly (It's not a SSD)). I can't: Awaken it with the keyboard Awaken it with the mouse Soft power-off by pressing the power button Change virtual screens by pressing Ctrl-Alt-# Restart X by pressing Ctrl-Alt-Backspace I have to hold down the power button and shut it down that way, and this seems a little unreasonable. Is there a place I could look for more detail as to what's causing this? Is there a known quick-fix to this issue? Nothing is logged as happening when the system is in "suspend" mode.   • Why do my raytraced spheres have dark lines when lit with multiple light sources?

    I have a simple raytracer that only works back up to the first intersection. The scene looks OK with two different light sources, but when both lights are in the scene, there are dark shadows where the lit area from one ends, even if in the middle of a lit area from the other light source (particularly noticeable on the green ball). The transition from the 'area lit by both light sources' to the 'area lit by just one light source' seems to be slightly darker than the 'area lit by just one light source'.   • TFS: Choose which Team Project to add a solution too.

    I have a solution which I developed in VS2008 and which I am trying to add to Source Control (TFS 2010, though the issue happened in TFS 2008 as well). I have several TFS workspaces on my computer and I have access to several Team Projects. When I right click the solution in my Solution Explorer and choose the "Add Solution to Source Control" option I am never given an option of choosing which Workspace or which Team Project to add the existing solution too. VS2008 then proceeds to add it to the same team project every time. I have tried selecting an alternate workspace/team project in every window where I can see an option for it but it always adds it back to the same one. I even tried changing the name of my new workspace so that alphabetically it was the first thinking that it might be somehow related to that... no luck. I then tried goign to the Change Source Control window where you can add/remove bindings on a solution/project but that window also defaults to the same Team Project as trying to add the solution directly does... Any help would be greatly appreciated with this, maybe I'm just missing something?

    In Windows XP, installing the software 'Explorer Breadcrumbs' allows me to have an address bar similar to Windows 7 (directories are displayed as buttons that you can click to go to). With Explorer Breadcrumbs in Windows XP, I can open a directory in the address bar in a new window by ctrl-clicking or middle clicking the directory button. Is there a way to have this same functionality in Windows 7?

  • iPhone OS: Get a list of methods and variables from anonymous object

    I am building my first iPhone/Obj-c app and I have a large amount of data-holding subclasses that I am passing into a cite function. To the cite function these objects are anonymous and I need to find a way to access all the variables of each passed object. I have been using a pre-built NSArray and Selectors to do this but with more than 30 entries (and growing) it is kind of silly to do manually. There has to be a way to dynamically look up all the variables of an anonymous object. The obj-c runtime run-time docs mention this problem but from what I can tell this is not available in iPhone OS. If it is then I don't understand the implementation and need some guidance. A similar question was asked before but again I think they were talking about OSX and not iPhone. On the new machine I grabbed the latest version of the code using sourcesafe.     I would like to avoid reflection in an open source project I am developing. Here I have classes like the following. public class PurchaseOrder { @Property private Customer customer; @Property private String name; } I scan for the @Property annotation to determine what I can set and get from the PurchaseOrder reflectively. There are many such classes all using java.lang.reflect.Field.get() and java.lang.reflect.Field.set(). Ideally I would like to generate for each property an invoker like the following. public interface PropertyAccessor<S, V> { public void set(S source, V value); public V get(S source); } Now when I scan the class I can create a static inner class of PurchaseOrder like so. static class customer_Field implements PropertyAccessor<PurchaseOrder, Customer> { public void set(PurchaseOrder order, Customer customer) { order.customer = customer; } public Customer get(PurchaseOrder order) { return order.customer; } } With these I totally avoid the cost of reflection. I can now set and get from my instances with native performance. Can anyone tell me how I would do this. A code example would be great. I have searched the net for a good example but can find nothing like this. The ASM examples are pretty poor also. The key here is that I have an interface that I can pass around. So I can have various implementations, perhaps one with Java Reflection as a default, one with ASM, and maybe one with Javassist? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

  • Python GUI does not update until entire process is finished

    I have a process that gets a files from a directory and puts them in a list. It then iterates that list in a loop. The last line of the loop being where it should update my gui display, then it begins the loop again with the next item in the list. My problem is that it does not actually update the gui until the entire process is complete, which depending on the size of the list could be 30 seconds to over a minute. This gives the feeling of the program being 'hung' What I wanted it to do was to process one line in the list, update the gui and then continue. Where did I go wrong? The line to update the list is # Populate listview with drive contents.     I have a list (e.g., a bulleted list) in Microsoft Word. This list is inside a table cell. When I press Tab to increase the indent, rather than increasing the indent, it moves the cursor to the next cell. When I try Ctrl+Tab, it just inserts a tab character without changing the indentation of the bullet (paragraph). How can I turn this off, so it does not go to the next cell but rather just indents the list?

    I don't want to install PowerToys, I'd rather a simpler solution for this specific problem. I've tried Ctrl+Shift+Right-Click. I've tried adding a registry script, but I get the following error: Cannot import D:\Admin\Reg\Open command window here (Administrator)\Open command window here (Administrator).reg: The specified file is not a registry script. You can only import binary registry files from within the registry editor. Any suggestions?

  • Getting XML Numbered Entities with PHP 5 DOM

    Hello guys, I am new here and got a question that is tricking me all day long. I've made a PHP script, that reads a website source code through cURL, then works with DOMDocument class in order to generate a sitemap file. It is working like a charm in almost every aspect. The problem is with special characters. For compatibility reasons, sitemap files needs to have all special chars encoded as numbered entities. And I am not achieving that. For example, one of my entries - automatically read from site URLs, and wrote to sitemap file - is: http://www.somesite.com/serviços/redesign/ On the source code it should looks like: http://www.somesite.com/servi*ç*os/redesign/ Just this. But unfortunately, I am really not figuring it out how to do it. Source code file, server headers, etc... everything is encoded as UTF-8. I'm using DOMDocument and related extensions to build the XML. (Basically, DOMDocument, $obj-createElement, $obj-appendChild). htmlentities gives ç instead of ç str_replace does not work. It makes the character just vanish in the output. I was using $obj-createElement("loc", $url); on my code, and just now I read in PHP manual that I should use $document-createTextNode($page), in order to have entities encoding support. Well, it is not working either. Any idea on how to get unstuck of this? Thanks.

  • DFS "clobering" files

    We have DFS setup using the DFS Management Administrator Tool. I turned on replication in the Distributed File System Administrator Tool as well and this morning we lost tons of files from that share. Please explain to me why this was wrong and if there is anything that can be done to repair it. (No, we don't have backups. We have some shadow copies, but those were deleted as well. We have been using DFS as its own backup)

  • clients auto-lock feature for inactvity timeout not working

    In our sbs 2003 domain environment, the clients' pc's inactive for default period will be locked out automatically and only Ctrl+ Alt + Del & client password combination will unlock the client's pcs. Recently around 9 months before, all our client's pc's joined the new sbs 2011 but (usually all are locking with Win+L key combination manually)the auto lock feature is not working from the beginning onwards. Now only I am brought up with this issue by clients. Please help me set that option!
