• Print raw data to a thermal-printer using c#

  Hi, I'm trying to print out raw ascii data to a thermal printer. I do this by using this code example: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/322091 but my printer prints always only one character and this not until I press the form feed button. If I print something with notepad the printer will do a form feed automatically but without printing any text. The printer is connected via usb over a lpt2usb adapter and Windows 7 uses the "Generic - Generic / Text Only" driver. Anyone knows what is going wrong? How is it possible to print some words and do some form feeds? Are there some control characters I have to send? And if yes: How do I send them? Thanks!

  Getting an Exception in the BitmapFactory. Not sure what is the issue. I defined an XML layout w/ a default image. I try to load a bm on the SDCard (if present - it is). If not it shows the default image. Anyway.. • access violation in wglMakeCurrent

  Sometimes in my OpenGL application I get an access violation in the following API call: wglMakeCurrent(NULL, NULL); The application only has one single thread, and I've checked that before that call, both the DC and HGLRC that are currently used are correct and valid. There are three different windows with OpenGL content, and they're all redrawn on WM_PAINT messages and if a refresh is required due to user interaction (e.g., picking an object). Also this access violation happens on different machines with different graphic cards, so I don't think it's a driver issue. What could make this API call crash? What should I investigate in the app code to find out where/why this happens? I'm really lost here since I've checked everything I could think of already. I hope someone can give me hints/ideas on what more to check.

  I want to enable form based authentication by using database as realm but I'm always getting that message whenever I try to authenticate as Tomcat manager in Tomcat 6. I have already created a table user_name and user_roles and mapped the username(blue) to admin and manager as role in user_roles table in mysql, but still I'm unable to authenticate and enable form based authentication. • Using nested error wrappers with jQuery validate plugin

  I am using the jQuery validate plugin. My error labels are styled like tooltips and take many levels of nested divs in order to create. The plugin has a wrapper option that allows for an element type to be specified as a wrapper for the error message, but it's only wrapped once. Is anyone familiar with how to do nested wrapping? This isn't my exact markup, but as an example: <div class="tooltip"> <div> <div> <span class="error">This field is required.</span> </div> </div> </div> * UPDATE * The response from Chris answers my original question, but creates a new problem. The errors are now being displayed as desired, but the plugin fails to clear them. When a failed validation passes, span.error is set to display:none, but the div.tooltip nested wrapper still displays.

• MYOB odbc connection problem

  Hi guys, i recently got a prebuild application which uses MYOB odbc connection to myob file. the odbc connection works perfectly in that application i uses the same odbc connection string in other application but it failed to open in that application. the connection string is perfectly identical but it wont works the new application. • VBScript & Access MDB - 800A0E7A - "Provider cannot be found. It may not be properly installed"

  Hey gang, I've having a problem with a VBScript connecting to an access MDB Database. My platform is Vista64, but the majority of resources out there are for ASP/IIS7. Quite simply, I can't get it to connect. I'm getting the following error: 800A0E7A - "Provider cannot be found. It may not be properly installed" My code is: Set conn = CreateObject("ADODB.Connection") strConnect = "Provider=Microsoft.Jet.OLEDB.4.0;Data Source=C:\database.MDB" conn.Open strConnect So far I have ran %WINDIR%\System32\odbcad32.exe to try to configure the Driver in 32bit mode, but it hasn't done the trick. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated

• HTML5 video (mp4 and ogv) problems in Safari and Firefox - but Chrome is all good

  Hi folks, I have the following code: <video width="640" height="360" controls id="video-player" poster="/movies/poster.png"> <source src="/movies/640x360.m4v" type='video/mp4; codecs="avc1.42E01E, mp4a.40.2"'> <source src="/movies/640x360.ogv" type='video/ogg; codecs="theora, vorbis"'> </video> I'm using Rails (Mongrel in development and Mongrel+Apache in production). Chrome (Mac and Win) can play either file (tested by one then the other source tags) whether locally or from my production servers. Safari (Mac and Win) can play the mp4 file fine locally but not from production. Firefox 3.6 won't play the video in either OS. I just get a grey cross in the middle of the video player area. I've made sure that both Mongrel and Apache in each case have the right MIME types set. From Chrome's results I know there is nothing inherently wrong with my video files or the way the files are being asked for or delivered. Anyone got any clues? Or even a clue as to how to diagnose the problem? For Firefox I looked at https://developer.mozilla.org/En/Using_audio_and_video_in_Firefox where it refers to an 'error' event and an 'error' attribute. It seems the 'error' event is thrown pretty well straightaway and at that time there is no error attribute. Very helpful... :( Help enormously appreciated! Thanks in advance... Chris

• Crystal Reports Server - Database Login Needs to go Away

  The environment I'm working in is a Crystal Reports Server 2008 talking to a MySQL Server 5.1 database using JDBC. The problem is that I get a database logon screen every time I try to access a report from Crystal Reports Server. I've setup a JDBC connection using the MySQL Connector/J driver. When I create a .rpt file I provide the login credentails all is fine. I then publish to InfoView and go to access the report and it prompts me for username and password to the database. I then went to CMC and right-clicked on the report and opened the Database Configuration. I've selected 'Use original database logon information from the report' and 'Use same database logon as when report is run'. However, I still get the logon screen when I try to access the report.

• Is it possible to tweak TStringField to work like TWideStringField in Delphi?

  We want to use Unicode with Delphi 2009 and Interbase, and found that to switch the character encoding from WIN1252 to UNICODE_FSS we first have to replace all instances of TStringField with TWideStringField in all datamodules. For around 60 datamodules, we can not simply do this over one weekend. I can see only two options for a migration strategy: find a workaround which allows to use the existing TStringField fields without triggering the 'expected: TWideStringField' error or remove all persistent fields to avoid the string type conflict As far as I know the field types for persistent database fields are registered in some kind of class registry. Could we use this to make Delphi believe that a TStringField is ok for a Interbase character column with UNICODE_FSS encoding? Or can we use a commercial dbExpress driver which work with TStringField in both cases?   Hi, For glassfish v2, I have searched through the web and I cannot find anyway to specify query timeout when using TopLink essential query hint. We have another option to migrate to EclipseLink but that is not feasible. have tried the solution in http://forums.oracle.com/forums/thread.jspa?threadID=974732&tstart=-1 but it seems the DatabaseQuery which one could set a timeout value is actually for Toplink, not TopLink essential. Do we have some other way to instruct the JDBC driver for this timeout value other than the query hint? I need to do it on query-basis and not system-basis (which is just to change the value of DISTRIBUTED_LOCK_TIMEOUT)

• Installing drivers from NSIS installer in x64 system.

  I want to add support for x64 OSes to my NSIS installer. One of the installer's task is drivers installation. I've written a special NSIS plugin for this task. This plugin uses Driver Install Frameworks API (DIFxAPI) to install drivers. The problem is that this API does not work in WOW64. Is there any way to create x64 installer application with NSIS? Has anybody solved similar problem with NSIS? P.S.: The only solution I can see now is to run another application from the installer. This will be x64 executable that installs drivers. But this way seems somewhat harder to me. So, I'm interested in other solutions.

• Injection with google guice does not work anymore after obfuscation with proguard

The obfuscated version of my code does not work with google guice as guice complains about missing type parameters. This information seems to be erased by the transformation step that proguard does, even when the relevant classes are excluded from the obfuscation. • Pair programming tools that are not remote

  I am currently in a job where we practice serious pair programming on windows machines. We both have a set of keyboards, mice, and we have two monitors, which works well for switching who's the driver really easy, but there are some points in the session that I would like to start writing tests at the same time that my pair is writing implementation. I am wondering if there is any program that would allow me to have effectively two cursors and keyboard focuses on the same computer. If they don't exist then I am willing to experiment with my own solution, but I would like input as to how to best accomplish this. I am most familiar with .Net 3.5 technologies, but I also know Java and am willing to learn C++ to solve this problem. If I was creating the solution myself I would go down the road of being able to grab the input of one hardware device (i.e. a specific mouse that's installed) and prevent Windows from moving the pointer, and instead move my own programs pointer independently.

• ODBC: Mapping of literal type names in create table statements

  I was wondering if data types in a a literal "create table" statement, executed over ODBC, are replaced with their database specific counterparts (platform is Windows/.Net/C#). I cannot find this feature in the ODBC docs, and there seems to be no list of literal "ODBC data types". However, I know that this works for Oracle, SQL Server and Access; the following statement is executed correctly, although the type LONGVARBINARY is no native type in all of these systems: CREATE TABLE (MYCOLUMN LONGVARBINARY) However, e.g. for Oracle the mapped native type depends on the used ODBC driver. Is this an undocumented feature? Is there a list of supported type names anywhere? Thanks!

• .gitconfig error

  I edited my .gitconfig file to add support for LabView and it appears that I did something that Git doesn't exactly like. The problem is it (Git) doesn't tell me what it doesn't like. What did I do wrong? The error message doesn't help much either: "fatal: bad config file line 13 in c:/Users/Tanner/.gitconfig" [gui] recentrepo = C:/Users/Tanner/Desktop/FIRST 2010 Beta/Java/LoganRover [user] name = Tanner Smith email = [email protected] [merge "labview"] name = LabView 3-Way Merge driver = “C:\Program Files\National Instruments\Shared\LabVIEW Merge\LVMerge.exe” “C:\Program Files\National Instruments\LabVIEW 8.6\LabVIEW.exe” %O %B %A %A recursive = binary And I'm not seeing a line 13, but usually that would mean something is wrong at the end? So i have no idea how to solve this problem. I am using VS2008 with MongoDB.Driver on Windows7.

  Just getting started with node, and trying to get the mongo driver to work. I've got my connection set up, and oddly I can insert things just fine, however calling find on a collection produces craziness. var db = new mongo.Db('things', new mongo.Server('192.168.2.6',mongo.Connection.DEFAULT_PORT, {}), {}); db.open(function(err, db) { db.collection('things', function(err, collection) { // collection.insert(row); collection.find({}, null, function(err, cursor) { cursor.each(function(err, doc) { sys.puts(sys.inspect(doc,true)); }); }); }); }); If I uncomment the insert and comment out the find, it works a treat.
