  • Why must "stride" in the System.Drawing.Bitmap constructor be a multiple of 4?

    - by Gorchestopher H
    I am writing an application that requires me to take a proprietary bitmap format (an MVTec Halcon HImage) and convert it into a System.Drawing.Bitmap in C#. The only proprietary functions given to me to help me do this involve me writing to file, except for the use of a "get pointer" function. This function is great, it gives me a pointer to the pixel data, the width, the height, and the type of the image. My issue is that when I create my System.Drawing.Bitmap using the constructor: new System.Drawing.Bitmap(width, height, stride, format, scan) I need to specify a "stride" that is a multiple of 4. This may be a problem as I am unsure what size bitmap my function will be hit with. Supposing I end up with a bitmap that is 111x111 pixels, I have no way to run this function other than adding a bogus column to my image or subtracting 3 columns. Is there a way I can sneak around this limitation?

  • Showing a loading spinner only if the data has not been cached.

    - by Aaron Mc Adam
    Hi guys, Currently, my code shows a loading spinner gif, returns the data and caches it. However, once the data has been cached, there is a flicker of the loading gif for a split second before the data gets loaded in. It's distracting and I'd like to get rid of it. I think I'm using the wrong method in the beforeSend function here: $.ajax({ type : "GET", cache : false, url : "book_data.php", data : { keywords : keywords, page : page }, beforeSend : function() { $('.jPag-pages li:not(.cached)').each(function (i) { $('#searchResults').html('<p id="loader">Loading...<img src="../assets/images/ajax-loader.gif" alt="Loading..." /></p>'); }); }, success : function(data) { $('.jPag-current').parent().addClass('cached'); $('#searchResults').replaceWith($(data).find('#searchResults')).find('table.sortable tbody tr:odd').addClass('odd'); detailPage(); selectForm(); } });

  • jQuery.extend() not giving deep copy of object formed by constructor

    - by two7s_clash
    I'm trying to use this to clone a complicated Object. The object in question has a property that is an array of other Objects, and each of these have properties of different types, mostly primitives, but a couple further Objects and Arrays. For example, an ellipsed version of what I am trying to clone: var asset = new Assets(); function Assets() { this.values = []; this.sectionObj = Section; this.names = getNames; this.titles = getTitles; this.properties = getProperties; ... this.add = addAsset; function AssetObj(assetValues) { this.name = ""; this.title = ""; this.interface = ""; ... this.protected = false; this.standaloneProtected = true; ... this.chaptersFree = []; this.chaptersUnavailable = []; ... this.mediaOptions = { videoWidth: "", videoHeight: "", downloadMedia: true, downloadMediaExt: "zip" ... } this.chaptersAvailable = []; if (typeof assetValues == "undefined") { return; } for (var name in assetValues) { if (typeof assetValues[name] == "undefined") { this[name] = ""; } else { this[name] = assetValues[name]; } } ... function Asset() { return new AssetObj(); } ... function getProperties() { var propertiesArray = new Array(); for (var property in this.values[0]) { propertiesArray.push(property); } return propertiesArray; } ... function addAsset(assetValues) { var newValues; newValues = new AssetObj(assetValues); this.values.push(newValues); } } When I do var copiedAssets = $.extend(true, {}, assets); copiedAssets.values == [], while assets.values == [Object { name="section_intro", more...}, Object { name="select_textbook", more...}, Object { name="quiz", more...}, 11 more...] When I do var copiedAssets = $.extend( {}, assets); all copiedAssets.values.[X].properties are just pointers to the value in assets. What I want is a true deep copy all the way down. What am I missing? Do I need to write a custom extend function? If so, any recommended patterns?

  • Problem loading scripts from Ajax Response

    - by konathamrajesh
    The problem is I am using get_info() to make a ajax call to Result.lasso and paste the response in div with id 'test'.I am unable to use the sendForm() function from the page where i am calling the get_info(). I have also tried using different versions of jQuery 1.1.1.3 is working fine.But i am facing the problem while using higher versions of jquery. • Efficient calculation of matrix cumulative standard deviation in r

    - by Abiel
    I recently posted this question on the r-help mailing list but got no answers, so I thought I would post it here as well and see if there were any suggestions. I am trying to calculate the cumulative standard deviation of a matrix. I want a function that accepts a matrix and returns a matrix of the same size where output cell (i,j) is set to the standard deviation of input column j between rows 1 and i. NAs should be ignored, unless cell (i,j) of the input matrix itself is NA, in which case cell (i,j) of the output matrix should also be NA. I could not find a built-in function, so I implemented the following code. Unfortunately, this uses a loop that ends up being somewhat slow for large matrices. Is there a faster built-in function or can someone suggest a better approach? cumsd <- function(mat) { retval <- mat*NA for (i in 2:nrow(mat)) retval[i,] <- sd(mat[1:i,], na.rm=T) retval[is.na(mat)] <- NA retval } Thanks.

  • private class calling a method from its outer class

    - by oxinabox.ucc.asn.au
    Ok, so I have a class for a "Advanced Data Structure" (in this case a kinda tree) SO I implimented a Iterator as a private class with in it. So the iterator needs to implement a remove function to remove the last retuirned element. now my ADT already impliments a remove function, and in this case there is very little (thinking about it, i think nothing) to be gain by implimenting a different remove function for the iterator. so how do I go about calling the remove from my ADT sketch of my struture: public class ADT { ... private class ADT_Iterator impliments java.util.Itorator{ ... public void remove(){ //where I want to call the ADT's remove function from } ... public void remove( Object paramFoo ) { ... } ... } So just calling remove(FooInstance) won't work (will it?) and this.remove(FooInstance) is the same thing. what do i call? (and changign the name of the ADT's remove function is not an option, as that AD T has to meet an Interace wich I am note at liberty to change) I could make both of them call a removeHelper functon, I guess...

  • jQuery-driven app. won't work without alert()

    - by webjawns.com
    I have seen a lot of articles on this, but none dealing with jQuery, so here I go... I am implementing a version of a script from http://javascript-array.com/scripts/jquery_simple_drop_down_menu/ into an existing application; however, I cannot get it to work without adding alert('msg...') as the first method within the $(document).ready() call. This has nothing to do with load time... no matter how long I wait, the menu does not work. Add alert(), however, and it works like a charm. var timeout = 500; var closetimer = 0; var ddmenuitem = 0; function jsddm_open() { jsddm_canceltimer(); jsddm_close(); ddmenuitem = $(this).find('ul').css('visibility', 'visible');} function jsddm_close() { if(ddmenuitem) ddmenuitem.css('visibility', 'hidden');} function jsddm_timer() { closetimer = window.setTimeout(jsddm_close, timeout);} function jsddm_canceltimer() { if(closetimer) { window.clearTimeout(closetimer); closetimer = null;}} $(document).ready(function() { $('#jsddm > li').bind('mouseover', jsddm_open) $('#jsddm > li').bind('mouseout', jsddm_timer)}); document.onclick = jsddm_close;

  • Create Marker Categories & Display Markers on Click Only

  • Using ember-resource with couchdb - how can i save my documents?

    - by Thomas Herrmann
    I am implementing an application using ember.js and couchdb. I choose ember-resource as database access layer because it nicely supports nested JSON documents. Since couchdb uses the attribute _rev for optimistic locking in every document, this attribute has to be updated in my application after saving the data to the couchdb. My idea to implement this is to reload the data right after saving to the database and get the new _rev back with the rest of the document. Here is my code for this: // Since we use CouchDB, we have to make sure that we invalidate and re-fetch // every document right after saving it. CouchDB uses an optimistic locking // scheme based on the attribute "_rev" in the documents, so we reload it in // order to have the correct _rev value. didSave: function() { this._super.apply(this, arguments); this.forceReload(); }, // reload resource after save is done, expire to make reload really do something forceReload: function() { this.expire(); // Everything OK up to this location Ember.run.next(this, function() { this.fetch() // Sub-Document is reset here, and *not* refetched! .fail(function(error) { App.displayError(error); }) .done(function() { App.log("App.Resource.forceReload fetch done, got revision " + self.get('_rev')); }); }); } This works for most cases, but if i have a nested model, the sub-model is replaced with the old version of the data just before the fetch is executed! Interestingly enough, the correct (updated) data is stored in the database and the wrong (old) data is in the memory model after the fetch, although the _rev attribut is correct (as well as all attributes of the main object). Here is a part of my object definition: App.TaskDefinition = App.Resource.define({ url: App.dbPrefix + 'courseware', schema: { id: String, _rev: String, type: String, name: String, comment: String, task: { type: 'App.Task', nested: true } } }); App.Task = App.Resource.define({ schema: { id: String, title: String, description: String, startImmediate: Boolean, holdOnComment: Boolean, ..... // other attributes and sub-objects } }); Any ideas where the problem might be? Thank's a lot for any suggestion! Kind regards, Thomas

  • AS3: Adding get/set methods to a class via prototype

    - by LiraNuna
    I'm looking for a way to extend a class via prototype by adding a get and set functions. The following code will add a function to the class' prototype: MyClass.prototype.newMethod = function(... args) { }; However I want to add both a get and set functions. I tried: MyClass.prototype.fakeProperty = get function(... args) { }; MyClass.prototype.fakeProperty = set function(... args) { }; But that seem to throw compile errors. Is this even possible? Is there some 'internal' naming convention for get/set functions? I am not looking for answers such as 'create a new class and new get/set functions there'.

  • javascript. is it posible for one member of an object to access another member of that object withou

    - by joox
    For example: var myObj={ myValue="hola", asMember=function(){ alert( this.myValue ); } }; myObj.asMember(); // will work fine var asGlobal=myObj.asMember; // global alias for that member function asGlobal(); // won't work in javascript (will work in AS3, but i need js now) So the question is, can I rewrite asMember so that it could be called by global alias and without mentioning myObj at all? It's understood that if I define it: asMember=function(){ alert( myObj.myValue ); } it will work, but in my case, mentioning myObj is not acceptable even inside the function itself (because myObj may be reassigned later, but asGlobal won't change and should keep working)

  • Why is this XMLHttpRequest sample from Mozilla is not working in Firefox 3?

    - by j0rd4n
    I'm trying to get the sample code from Mozilla that consumes a REST web service to work under Firefox 3.0.10. The following code does NOT work in Firefox but does in IE 8! Why is this not working? Does IE 8 have support for XMLHttpRequest? Most examples I've seen use the ActiveX allocation. What should I be doing? XMLHttpRequest seems more standardized. Sample: var req = new XMLHttpRequest(); req.open('GET', 'http://localhost/myRESTfulService/resource', false); // throws 'undefined' exception req.send(null); if(req.status == 0) dump(req.responseText); The open statement is throwing an exception with the description 'undefined'. This is strange as I allocate the req object, am running it in Firefox, and checked to make sure it is defined before calling open (which it says it is of type 'object'). I've also tried the asynchronous version of this with no luck. EDIT 2: Below is my most recent code: function createRequestObject() { if( window.XMLHttpRequest ) { return new XMLHttpRequest(); } else if( window.ActiveXObject ) { return new ActiveXObject( "Microsoft.XMLHTTP" ); } return null; } function handleResponse( req ) { document.writeln( "Handling response..." ); // NEVER GETS CALLED if( req.readyState == 0 ) { document.writeln( "UNITIALIZED" ); } else if( req.readyState == 1 ) { document.writeln( "LOADING" ); } else if( req.readyState == 2 ) { document.writeln( "LOADED" ); } else if( req.readyState == 3 ) { document.writeln( "INTERACTIVE" ); } else if( req.readyState == 4 ) { document.writeln( "COMPLETE" ); if( req.status == 200 ) { document.writeln( "SUCCESS" ); } } } document.writeln( "" ); var req = createRequestObject(); try { document.writeln( "Opening service..." ); req.onreadystatechange = function() { handleResponse( req ); }; req.open('POST', 'http://localhost/test/test2.txt', true); // WORKS IN IE8 & NOT FIREFOX document.writeln( "Sending service request..." ); req.send(''); document.writeln( "Done" ); } catch( err ) { document.writeln( "ERROR: " + err.description ); } EDIT 3: Alright, I reworked this in jQuery. jQuery works great in IE but it throws 'Undefined' when running from Firefox. I double checked and 'Enable JavaScript' is turned on in Firefox - seems to work fine in all other web pages. Below is the jQuery code: function handleResponse( resp ) { alert( "Name: " + resp.Name ); alert( "URL: " + resp.URL ); } $(document).ready( function() { $("a").click( function(event) { try { $.get( "http://localhost/services/ezekielservices/configservice/ezekielservices.svc/test", "{}", function(data) { handleResponse( data ); }, "json" ); } catch( err ) { alert("'$.get' threw an exception: " + err.description); } event.preventDefault(); }); } ); // End 'ready' check Summary of Solution: Alright, web lesson 101. My problem was indeed cross-domain. I was viewing my site unpublished (just on the file system) which was hitting a published service. When I published my site under the same domain it worked. Which also brings up an important distinction between IE and Firefox. When IE experiences this scenario, it prompts the user whether or not they accept the cross-domain call. Firefox throws an exception. While I'm fine with an exception, a more descriptive one would have been helpful. Thanks for all those who helped me.

  • JQuery submit form and output response or error message

    - by sergdev
    I want to submit form and show message about result. update_records initializes alert_message to error message. If success I expect that its value is changed. Than update_records outputs message. But the function always alerts "Error submitting form". What is wrong with this? The code follows: function update_records(form_name) { var options = { async: false, alert_message: "Error submitting form", success: function(message) { this.alert_message = message; } }; $('#' + form_name).ajaxSubmit(options); alert(options.alert_message); } I am newbie in Javascript/JSon/Jquery and I suspect that I misunderstand some basics of mentioned technologies. UPDATE: I specified "async:false" to make execution synchronous (Is it correct?) I also tried to insert delay between following two lines: $('#' + form_name).ajaxSubmit(options); pausecomp(1000); // inserted pause alert(options.alert_message); It also does not resolve the issue Function fo pousecomp follows: function pausecomp(millis) { var date = new Date(); var curDate = null; do { curDate = new Date(); } while(curDate-date < millis); }

  • Resolve php "deadlock"

    - by Matt
    Hey all, I'm currently running into a situation that I guess would be called deadlock. I'm implementing a message service that calls various object methods.. it's quite similar to observer pattern.. Here's whats going on: Dispatcher.php Dispatcher.php <? class Dispatcher { ... public function message($name, $method) { // Find the object based on the name $object = $this->findObjectByName($name); // Slight psuedocode.. for ease of example if($this->not_initialized($object)) $object = new $object(); // This is where it locks up. } return $object->$method(); ... } class A { function __construct() { $Dispatcher->message("B", "getName"); } public function getName() { return "Class A"; } } class B { function __construct() { // Assume $Dispatcher is the classes $Dispatcher->message("A", "getName"); } public function getName() { return "Class B"; } } ?> It locks up when neither object is initialized. It just goes back and forth from message each other and no one can be initialized. Any help would be immensely helpful.. Thanks! Matt Mueller

  • ASP.NET MVC - Form Post always redirect when I just want to bind json result to a div

    - by Saxman
    Hi all, I'm having a little problem with json result. I'm submitting a contact form, and after the submission, I just want to return some json data (indicating either a success or failed and displays a message) back to the view, without causing a redirect, but it kept redirecting me to the action, here are the codes: HTML <div id="contactForm2" class="grid_6"> <div id="contactFormContainer"> @using (Html.BeginForm(MVC.Home.ActionNames.ContactForm, MVC.Home.Name, FormMethod.Post, new { id = "contactForm" })) { <p> <input type="text" tabindex="1" size="22" value="" id="contactName" class="text_input required" name="contactName" /> <label for="contactName"> <strong class="leftSpace">Your Name (required)</strong></label></p> <p> <input type="text" tabindex="2" size="22" value="" id="contactEmail" class="text_input required" name="contactEmail" /> <label for="contactEmail"> <strong class="leftSpace">Email (required)</strong></label></p> <p> <input type="text" tabindex="2" size="22" value="" id="contactPhone" class="text_input" name="contactPhone" /> <label for="contactPhone"> <strong class="leftSpace">Phone</strong></label></p> <p> <label> <strong class="leftSpace n">Message (required)</strong></label> <textarea tabindex="4" rows="4" cols="56" id="contactMessage" class="text_area required" name="contactMessage"></textarea></p> <p> <input type="submit" value="Send" tabindex="5" id="contactSubmit" class="button submit" name="contactSubmit" /></p> } </div> <div id="contactFormStatus"> </div> </div> Controller [HttpPost] public virtual JsonResult ContactForm(FormCollection formCollection) { var name = formCollection["contactName"]; var email = formCollection["contactEmail"]; var phone = formCollection["contactPhone"]; var message = formCollection["contactMessage"]; if (string.IsNullOrEmpty(name) || string.IsNullOrEmpty(email) || string.IsNullOrEmpty(message)) { return Json(new { success = false, message = "Please complete all the required fields so that I can get back to you.   • Accomplishing This Style of Drop-Down Menus in jQuery

    - by Maxim Z.
    I was browsing the web and found this site. I noticed how the nav bar drop-down works, and I want to implement something similar on my website. Afer going into the source code of the page, I found that those drop-down areas are contained in divs with class fOut. It turns out that this is being done with MooTools. Here is the script itself (referenced in the original page after the Mootools script itself): window.addEvent('domready', function() { $("primaryNav").getChildren("li").addEvents({ "mouseenter": function(){ $(this).addClass("hover").getChildren("a").addClass("hover"); }, "mouseleave": function(){ $(this).removeClass("hover").getChildren("a").removeClass("hover"); } }); $$(".fOut").each(function(el,i){ var ifr = $(document.createElement("iframe")); ifr.className = "ieBgIframe"; ifr.frameBorder = "0"; ifr.src="about:blank"; ifr.injectInside(el); var p = el.getParent(); p.addClass("hover"); var h = el.getSize().size.y; p.removeClass("hover"); ifr.height=h; }); $$(".olderVersionsToggle").addEvents({ "click": function(e){ var event = new Event(e); event.stop(); var p = $(this).getParent().getNext(); if(p.hasClass("open")){ p.removeClass("open"); $(this).setText("Show previous versions..."); } else{ p.addClass("open"); $(this).setText("Hide previous versions..."); } return false; } }); }); My Question(s) I have two questions about this code. How does it work? I don't quite understand what it's doing, with the iframes and all. How can this be implemented in jQuery?
